Coach Chris is Uh-mazing! My daughter has been with him for 2 years now and she has learned sooo much!

I appreciate the limited number of kids per instructor, even though that requirement put us on the wait list for a short time. The older kids program looks great and I especially like the bell located in the middle of the gym that the gymnast gets to ring when they master a skill for the first time. Great motivation! I am particularly impressed with the Tiny Tots classes. That program is outstanding! I have a very shy and timid little girl that easily becomes clingy, but somehow Coach Ethan got her to join the class. She happily joins his classes, but I was interested to see what would happen on that one day he was not there. Other coaches quickly stepped up with encouragement and she joined her class. After the initial warmup to music the class divides into two groups and each goes to a different station or the trampolines before switching. Each station just looks like fun activities to the kids, but each 'fun' activity is designed to teach a very specific skill. Each 'fun' activity is first demonstrated by the coach, but big picture cues beside each piece of equipment also instructs. When the coach observes a child skipping a skill or not completing it correctly, they will assist or give extra instruction. I notice that the assistance is as minimal as needed since the goal is for them to achieve independence. The station's setup changes each week. After a class, the coaches often chat with a parent about a skill that was mastered or improved by their child. I have seen improvement in core strength, balance, stretching and confidence, to name a few. read more

This has nothing to do with the Gym its self. But the people who go there. Iv been working here and staying at the La Quinta right next door.... You best keep ur head on a swivel.... It's absolutely insane how fast these people drive. Im a fast driver and all but my Gawd.... It's insane in this small parking lot. It's not necessarily the Gyms fault but maybe have some respect for other people. It's a freaking speed race coming in from the south. read more

We like ASI. I'm the parent of 2 very young children, so this review is from the perspective as such. I'm not a gymnastics expert, nor do I have children competing, so please consider this review exclusively for their group classes for young kids. We have been taking classes for about a year and a half, Tiny Tots and Kids Gym 1. The facilities are great. The place is huge, and has all the apparatuses I would expect, including a huge foam block pit, lots of beams, bars, a ninja area, and more. I've seen smaller gyms but this one is large and everything seems to be in reasonable condition. When things have been broken or needing repair, it's been dealt with pretty quick. There are great coaches and there are...meh coaches. They do seem to constantly be training younger coaches and some of them are solid but some of them need a bit more work dealing with little kids, so we have followed the better coaches around through scheduling and wait lists. My girl has done especially well with Coach Chris and Coach Geoff so we try to stick with them, when possible. Tiny Tots is the mommy & me style of class where stay with your kid and help them with all of the activities. We started at 22 months, I believe you can start as early as 18 months but it really depends on your kid. If you think your kid can stay with the class (to some extent, versus constantly running off) then I'd start as soon as you think that can happen. I spent the first month chasing my girl all over the gym and there were plenty of tears, but I do think she learned a lot about listening to instruction and listening to people other than her parents. With my next child, I'm waiting until I can at least get him to "come here" before we start. The activities include a trampoline, some musical activities, a foam ball pit, and a "floor" routine where they go through stations. That station part is the hardest for kids to pick up and they definitely take some time to teach them how to move from one activity to the next. But since the NEXT level class has them do similar without their parent, I think Tiny Tots was a great place for us to start. Now in Kids Gym 1, it's the same activities but without the parent...so it's a true test of listening skills....for 3 year olds. It can be amusing to watch the coaches try to herd cats...and the kids that are the most successful are the ones that either can listen, or took the Tiny Tots class for awhile. I intend to continue bringing my children here as long as scheduling and preferred coaches are available. read more

I bought a Groupon for two months worth of gymnastics classes once a week. So far my kid loves it! Overall the classes are grouped based on experience level and I think age. They are very attentive to cleaning the areas that they work in. So after one group is done, the teacher sprays and wipes everything down the kids touched. The teachers also have hand sanitizer spray with them that they spray on the kids hands. I'm considering continuing on with the lessons after the Groupon is used up. It's $83.00 a month and it's auto drafted out of your account. This is a great way to let your young kids burn some energy. read more

My daughter loves here weekly gymnastics class at ASI Allen! Coach Izzy is great with the young children, and she is learning so much. It is constant activity, and she is learning all the basics she will need to continue in gymnastics as she gets older. read more

This place is too uptight. We went there for a birthday party (kids under 3 years of age) and the staff were rule Nazis. They only allowed 1 parent per child so half of us were sitting on the bleachers watching. They also were not friendly about kids doing activities outside of whatever the currently planned activity was. They're little kids and its hard to keep their attention for very long! Sad part is there was probably 10 kids or less there so it wasn't like overcrowding was an issue. We take our kid to Little Gym every week and it is a much better experience than this ASI birthday party we attended. This might be a better facility for older kids but not appropriate for toddlers. read more

I was really excited about the drop in option for their summer camp program. You could pay by the day and my son just loves gymnastics. Unfortunately they don't seem to keep the place clean. I mean it's cleaner than metroplex gymnastics in Allen for sure. But that's not saying much. My little boy came home with lice and I ended up having to spend a small fortune at the lice place to get them removed. During this time he was literally going to the ASI camp and coming home. He couldn't have gotten the lice any place else. When I called ASI about it hey acted pretty nonchalant and told me that sometimes kids get lice and that none of the other parents had been so upset and I should calm down. I asked if they were aware of a lice issue at their facility why parents had not been informed? They said that they hadn't been aware. But they'd just said that the "other parents" hadn't been as upset as me?!?! This happened last year but it came up in my feed to review and I remembered the costly ordeal last year. So I wanted to warn other parents that they might consider either choosing another gymnastics school or spraying some mint in their child's hair before sending them to that place. I love this place. She's been coming to gymnastics since she was 18 months old. Now she's in the 3-year-old class and that means: parents night out! Yes! Have a fantastic date night with your loved on, while knowing your child is fed, safe, and having a blast. The coaches and staff are great. She had her 3rd birthday here, and it was awesome. Great price! All the guests loved that we were the only ones on the floor for an entire hour. Overall: great place to watch your kids grow! read more

This review is strictly for open gym that occurs every Friday 7pm-10pm. This was my first time visiting the location. Front desk staff was super courteous and nice. They earned the 2 stars. Kids played tag game, hool-a-hooped, trampoline jumping, socialized, learnt coordination, conflict resolution (lolzzzz) Attendants were friendly, front desk was super attentive to kids' needs. Unbelievably friendly and great atmosphere. $10 for 3 hour kid-free time for parents, nothing can beat that. read more

The staff isn't quite as attentive as I would like. It's not uncommon to see children wander away from their activity without a coach noticing ... but that's not the reason for the low review. The biggest problem at this place is the other parents, and the staffs unwillingness to keep them in line. You'll see mothers paying for one child to attend the class, and all her other children coming along ... eating, drinking, spilling, leaving their shoes on and tracking god knows what on to the obstacles. Rather than, for example, ask one mother to take her infant off the stairs (that he has face planted off of at least twice, leaving drool and tears all over it ... god I hope it's only drool and tears) ... they just decide not to use any of the obstacles near it. Four star business if they would be willing to keep their one star customers from ruining things for everyone else. read more

We have been super pleased with our experience here. We first attended an Open House with a play group that we are in, and my 3.5 year old had such a fun time that we decided to sign him up for a weekly class. Due to our schedules, we had to switch from our original class to a new time slot, but both coaches have been excellent, high energy and VERY patient. In addition, we've attended a couple of parties for friends here and have had a great experience both times. My kids have had a ton of fun and they seem very organized and friendly. My son is not old enough or experienced enough to be in any sort of competitive program, so I have no idea how that works here, but if you are looking for a fun and interactive program to help your little one learn how to use their body and burn off some energy -- highly recommend! read more

Made an appointment several days in advance to have my daughter assessed for her level to see what class she would go into. Our appointment time was at 6:00 on Friday evening, so we cleared that space of time. The coach that was supposed to assess her "squeezed in" another girl before my daughter, so we ended up waiting around 15 minutes, which would've been fine with us if the coach had come to greet us after that, but instead he looked at us and then just walked away without so much as a greeting. I asked the receptionist for help and she just basically said we needed to sit there and wait until the coach decided to come get us. This was at about 20 minutes past our appointment time. We ended up leaving. There are too many choices out there to let ourselves be treated that way. read more

Highly impressed with this location. We scheduled my daughter's birthday party here without ever setting foot inside the door. The website is very straightforward and provides you with a checklist of all the items you need. The staff even contact you prior to make sure you don't need anything else. Once you arrive, they tell you to sit back and relax because they have it all under control. Our host and hostess were awesome! I was particularly impressed with Ryan and how he was able to engage all the kids. We had ages ranging from three to thirteen and everyone seemed to have a great time. The facility was clean and everyone we interacted with was professional. My only critique is that the kids weren't allowed much free play so with a party of more than 24 kids they had to wait quite a bit at times. Overall, a very impressive experience. read more

Couldn't agree with the other poster more. Rule Nazis... Went there for a 4 year olds party and they wouldn't let the kids really even play. Tried to stand with my shy 3 year old and was told parents weren't allowed on the floor with the kids. My daughter ended up running off crying her eyes out. This was after they had already chewed her out (not me) for jumping on a trampoline earlier. Even walking from one area to another got you yelled at. Never seen anything like it. Was told 'those are the rules.' I asked to speak to a manager and conveniently there wasn't one available... The 'planned' activities were pretty bad too as mentioned by the other guy... Which is why the kids wanted to do other things and much of why they got yelled at. I've done many gym parties at other Allen establishments and have never had even close to an issue. Four other parents were also irate so it wasn't just me. Save yourself some heartache and avoid this place unless you want a bunch of screaming, crying kids and a bunch of angry parents. The workers yelled at so many kids we lost track of how many. Go anywhere else .... Metroplex Gym is one of the best and Eagles Wings is good to. read more

I have been to a few parties here for friends of my children and thought they were well run so I decided to go with them for my son's 5th birthday party. I am so glad we did. The staff here are extremely helpful. I had two young ladies assigned to me and they were fantastic. They helped me unload the car, put up all the decorations and set up the table. You bring your own food, drinks and paper goods. Even though it wasn't their "stuff", they still served the food and drinks, and cleaned up afterward. They even cut the cake! I did not feel like I had to ask them to help, they just dove right in which I really appreciated. The activities were well run and organized and everyone had a good time. I felt that the ladies did a good job of both encouraging fun and playing within rules, a necessity with 23 kids running around so no one gets hurt. I also love that when you have a party, your group is the only one on the floor, so there's no problem keeping tracking of the kids in a crowded atmosphere. **Bonus for the parents bringing their kids to a party, you get to catch a break for an hour sitting on the bleachers with wifi while the kids play ;-) Great job ASI! read more

My 3 year old daughter has been attending Coach Chris' class since she was 1.5 and we absolutely love it! The staff is so sincere and helpful. I would definitely recommend this location, all the Coaches we've met are so nice but Coach Chris definitely has the patience for everyone! read more

This review is for parties and gymnastics. Parties - I've gone to 2 parties here. Both had Stefan as one of the facilitators. He is phenomenal. My daughter enjoyed the parties so much we signed her up for gymnastics classes. I hope to have my daughters next party here and if I do I hope to get Stefan. Classes- Great for my 4 year old. We tried another gym prior but it wasn't as kid friendly. She did not like going but now she likes ASI. She calls it "the place with the smiley faces" . I have 4 kids and for 6 years we were a part of the ASI. One of my daughters joined the team gymnastics and I have held many Birthday parties there as well. Unfortunately due to a lack of care to us as parents and team kids ASI has dropped all upper level teams and have made it impossible to either afford or continue at other ASI gyms. In fact, I have wondered why my daughter was not progressing faster. They do not support growth. In addition the owner Mr. David Holley has started legal action against one of their former coaches. She had been there for 6 years and pleaded with ASI to create the type of atmosphere for the girls teams that would allow them to grow. Apparently ASI does not care about the kids they only care about the money! So she left to pursue her career in coaching at another gym. Mr. David Holley will not allow her to coach for 1 year within a 10 mile radius! I am so disappointed that in today's world, where so many people are trying to find work and a meaningful career, A big rich owner halts the progress and success of a young women. I always wondered why there was so much turn over at ASI. I urge you to NOT join ASI or support them any longer! There only goal is to make money. They do not care about the kids or the coaches! There are many other places with better retention and heart that you can go to bring your children. Do not support this establishment! Allen doesn't need a company like this! read more

Tiny tots 1- Coach Danelle is great with our 13 month old son! She is always so excited to see him and makes the 50 minute class fun without being too serious. We left ASI Allen June 2013 after two years on their team program. Coach Amanda, Coach Jennifer and Coach Cris were all wonderful coaches. It's the owner and his administrative team that I give this review one star. I came to find out that they are all about how much money they add up for monthly profit. They gave us a 2 day notice that an $89 monthly increase in tuition ($319 to $408) for the exact same practice schedule we had the season before (9 hours of practice a week for their Level 4 and up girls competitive team.) If you didn't re-enroll your children that same day then you forfeited your monthly tuition! They said they wouldn't give a refund after it was automatically drafted out of your checking account, but would give a gym credit of your monthly amount. What the heck would I do with a $364 gym credit if I never planned to return??!! And if you wanted more hours, well too bad, you had to go find another ASI gym to get another 3 hours of practice and then pay an extra $32 and you weren't even sure if any other ASI gym would take your child for that extra day of practice. ASI Allen also does not have any equipment advanced enough for the upper levels. No high bar over a foam pit to practice giants or dismounts on. No vault into a foam pit. Crumps you can go to a couple of other local gyms, with USAG teams, for $275/mos for 12 hours of practice with all the great advanced equipment! It's no wonder that half of the level 1-2 and the all the levels 3, 4 and 5 team girls left as well as the coach. Now ASI Allen has no experienced girl's team coach and no level above 2. We wasted our time. And our money. The owner now wants to sue the coach who left. She left because all her girls who made up the team's left and there wasn't enough girls to coach. So she went to get another coaching job at another gym 9 miles away and now the owner wants to sue her. But if she was at a gym 10 miles away he said he wouldn't. LAME. And there goes years of my money towards lawyers. Double LAME. The guy is heartless. read more

The bathrooms does not have soap that is reachable to little kids and after raising the concern nothing was done about it. Kids would come out not being able to wash their hands and not because they didnt want to but because they couldnt' reach. Even with the stool they have available. Place isnt that clean and smells funny. read more

My son has gone to summer camp here for 2 years. He really likes it. He alsways has one teacher that he does not like and one that he just loves to death and the rest of the teachers are in the middle. The staff is very responsible and they are rule oriented. Most of the times, I find this to be a good thing. There are a few times when I thought they were a little over-the-top but they have to follow the same or stricter rules in school. At a gymnastics place, where kids are running and jumping and climbing and riding on zip lines, safety has to be enforced with rules and my child has only had one scrape since he has been going to ASI. The summer camp has a structured playtime that involves games and toher physical activities. Overall, I have been happy with the ASI in Allen. read more

My kids have been attending ASI for almost 4 years. We love all of the coaches and are so impressed with their energy & enthusiasm. We have had a birthday party here, mommy & me classes, parents' night out, and bronze, silver, and gold level classes. My kids love it so much and are always excited to go. We especially love Coach Cris, Coach Danielle, and Coach Nicole. These coaches always take the time to connect with my kids - even when they aren't in their class. Coach Cris & Coach Danielle have coached both of my kids in various levels and I always recommend them to my friends who are signing up for ASI for the first time. Coach Nicole is always so sweet and smiley with my daughter and calls to check on her when she misses class - so thoughtful. I really cannot recommend ASI Allen highly enough - we are so grateful to have found such strong role models and a great foundation of fitness in one place. read more

My son is two and is in Coach Chris' class. He LOVES it! Coach Chris is great with him, even when my son is a little more trying. The gym is very flexible is you have to miss a class, with helping you to make it up in another class. I can't say enough positive things about ASI Allen! read more

ASI gymnastics presents itself as a child friendly atmosphere that welcomes all children. While I observed that the staff was friendly with most kids, I couldn't help overhearing the negative comments they had to say about some of the children who were different or not as well behaved or focused. As a teacher, I understand that frustrations occur in the work place and children can be a handful at times. However, venting about a particulr child or family is not appropriate in the work place especially when there are many other children and families around. Please save your negative comments for when you are in a private space or recognize that you are not meant to work in a place with many different types of children. On top of hearing comments about children, I often heard staff gossiping with each other about other employees which I find extremely unprofessional. It makes me wonder what is said about me when I walk away from the desk after asking a question or making a payment. On the floor with the students, it always seemed to me like the coach would give more attention to some kids and sort of blow off the ones that had a different learning style or had a harder time paying attention ( I dont blame that unfocused kid as the gym has a lot of stimulus to be distracted by). Other times it seemed as though the coach didn't want to be there at all. My kid was given a sticker sheet after each class where the coach would circle something they had mastered. I watch my child's class and know for a fact taht she can't do a head stand so there is absolutely no reason that that skill should be highlighted as "mastered." I feel like the coaches just circle something random because it is required to do so, however they are really not paying close enough attention to really evaluate my cild's progress. I also noticed that on evenings there is only one person working the front desk. The place gets pretty busy and pretty packed and I have waited in line for quite a while. You would think management would notice that there is a bit too much work in the evenings for one person and to maybe staff someone else to help out. Overall I would not recommend this gym to anyone. Eagles Wings, Metroplex Gymnastics, Little Gym, anyonther local gym would surely be a better more positive place.The training is average and even the people at the front desk will tell you which coaches are good and bad in their opinion. If I had to sum up ASI Gynastics in one word I would say unprofessional. read more

The best place ever for birthday parties. Don't know why other reviews were nasty, in my experience I felt like they were able to handle kids of all ages and the coaches were extremely caring. I had all my kid's birthday parties there and the coordinators were the best ever. Specially the real tall one, think his name was Greg. He made my child feel like the most special child in the world and he literally bent backwards to make the party extra special. I've never seen anyone work so hard for the kids. I've had parties there for my other kids and recommended Greg for my friend's parties. They were all very pleased. So all my experience there was great, just have to ask for the right person. read more

I was there for a Bday party. The party host didn't do any of the activities. Both the hosts just let the kids play in the pit. They didn't do the medal, jokes etc. There were three girls at the reception and they were just chatting with each other and not paying any attention to the guests. I am very disappointed with the ASI Gymnastics @ Allen. I will not recommend this place for any Bday parties. read more

I've only been for one class for my 2 year old, but we had so much fun. We also did a trial class at The Little Gym, but my daughter liked ASI a lot better. I was surprised at how quickly she adapted to the place (she can be very shy). I will agree that I was upset the soap was not working/filled in the room.
