I guess when you put that together you have the makings of the next Mary Lou Retton or the one from Allen Texas who won gold some years back. Anyways, I put her in a program in Denton and we didn't stay to long. Not that it was bad, but it looked more like daycare than actually learning much. And with 8-10 kids in a group, she wasn't getting the attention needed to actually accomplish anything. Granted the place had plenty of trophies lining the cabinets but whatever..... Enter the suggestion of my ex-wife and we found this place. Yes it's smaller, but her class size? A maximum of five kids. Her classes have been her and a little boy, and sometimes another girl. So only two to three kids? I think that's much better and I think she might get things done now. This place is more on the tumbling aspect, so I noticed that there wasn't a balance beam or a vault, but as long as my kiddo is happy, I'm happy.

After months on the waitlist, we were thrilled to start. Unfortunately, our first day didn't meet expectations. The facility was smaller than anticipated and felt overcrowded. With literally all four sessions happening at the same time, it was truly hard to hear, and cheer seemed to take over most of the space while gymnastics was pushed off to the side. The front desk staff was kind, but the coaching approach lacked warmth. As a first-time student there, my daughter received little guidance and was expected to immediately know what to do. A more welcoming environment would have made a big difference. We decided to withdraw her the same day. What concerned me most was that no one followed up after we paid for the month but never returned after only one day. it signaled a lack of care about the family experience. We'll be returning to her previous gym, where she feels more supported. Wishing this business the best, but it wasn't the right fit for us.

The older kids program looks great and I especially like the bell located in the middle of the gym that the gymnast gets to ring when they master a skill for the first time. Great motivation! I am particularly impressed with the Tiny Tots classes. That program is outstanding! I have a very shy and timid little girl that easily becomes clingy, but somehow Coach Ethan got her to join the class. She happily joins his classes, but I was interested to see what would happen on that one day he was not there. Other coaches quickly stepped up with encouragement and she joined her class. After the initial warmup to music the class divides into two groups and each goes to a different station or the trampolines before switching. Each station just looks like fun activities to the kids, but each 'fun' activity is designed to teach a very specific skill. Each 'fun' activity is first demonstrated by the coach, but big picture cues beside each piece of equipment also instructs. When the coach observes a child skipping a skill or not completing it correctly, they will assist or give extra instruction. I notice that the assistance is as minimal as needed since the goal is for them to achieve independence. The station's setup changes each week. After a class, the coaches often chat with a parent about a skill that was mastered or improved by their child. I have seen improvement in core strength, balance, stretching and confidence, to name a few.

She was at 3 other gyms during her career. Her experience at Zenith has been wonderful. She is NOT the top of the podium, college scholarship gymnast, although she was State Vault Champion one year. She participated in gymnastics for the love of the sport. She has high functioning autism; her coaches and the owners took the time to understand her differences. They provided her with the clarity she needed to be the best she could be. When a teammate made fun of and began to bully her, the owner/head coach addressed it the moment I brought it to her attention. Zenith is the only gym where they took the time to understand my daughter. I can not put a value on the life skills she is taking with her; 1. Time Management; 2. Perseverance; 3. Dealing with Disappointment; 4. Respect; 4. Importance of Fitness; 5. Dedication; 6. Never Giving Up; 7. Functioning as part of a team; 8. And OK Beating the Crap out of anyone who challenges her to an arm wrestling contest I have been around the world of gymnastics for 15 1/2 years. I have learned quite a bit in that time. So, to address some of the negative comments: 1. The make-up policy and 30 day drop notice are well documented in the 'contract' everyone receives and signs upon enrollment. A 30 day drop notice is standard. Check other gyms in the area. There are sign-up sheets for make up classes posted on the front counter for recreational classes every month. There are limits on class size for the benefit of the students, so you can't just make-up anytime you want. 2. The bars and high beams are not used for birthday parties for safety purposes. Think about it. A 3 year old on a 4" piece of wood, 4' off the floor, even with 8" mats under them? Um, NO! 3. Insurance prohibits anyone from being on the gym floor without signing a waiver. There are signs on the doors to the actual gym clearly stating this. 4. There is always someone scheduled at the front desk. Sometimes that person has to run into the gym or is in the office that looks out on the front desk. The owners are not now, nor have they been blond in the 5 years my daughter has been at Zenith. Clearly, they were not the ones walking out the door.

In MN she started at age 3 and she moved up quickly to from preschool to mini monsters to beginners and was in advanced beginners. Then we were told she was on the fast track to start team at age 5 in MN right before we moved to Tx. We choose Woga bc we were impressed with the older gymnast skills and technique. The gym was clean and there is a lot of equipment for the kids to use. We stayed at Woga for over a year for classes 3x a week because we loved it there and loved Coach Hannah-- she is amazing! We have been doing private lessons with her a 1-2x times a month for the past year and a half and she always is professional, kind, patient and precise. She doesn't let the kids be sloppy or lazy but still makes it fun for them. Being a past competitor in figure skating and coaching competitive athletes myself, I see Hannah's coaching /teaching talent and preciseness that she uses with the young athletes. A year and a half ago Hannah put our daughter in the invitation only class "PSA" - (preschool age advanced) with in the first month of us being at Woga and we also went to GPSO 2 other times a week. Hannah always focuses on the gymnast techniques and skills extremely well every class and lesson. She points things out to the kids in a way they understand and they want to correct. Hannah is always bubbly and always had a smile on her face. This past August we did a summer week camp (when Woga Frisco had a week off of lessons) at Plano Woga and our daughter loved it there too! Coach and director Mary is awesome and so welcoming. She put our daughter in the advanced class with coach Irena and even though she was only 5 and the other kiddos were ages 7-10 and although Irena is strict and firm, (which our daughter needed and I appreciated,) coach Irena was very very good and seemed to understand that our daughter was a little intimidated at first being with the "big older" girls. Our daughters skills started to really take off and she knew she had to be polished if she wanted coach Irena to see she was trying and our daughter was really was excited to be at both of the Woga's. Also, This fall Coach Hannah took our daughter out of GPSO and put her in the advanced class at Woga Frisco and we were cruising along excited and having fun learning! Unfortunately we had a terrible unexpected event in our family this past October my husband was diagnosed with a brain cancer tumor called glioblastoma and we had to stop taking classes abruptly at Woga as the drive was 30 min one way to either location....With all the dr appointments and Dr bills etc we had to make a quick decision. We were disappointed to have to leave Woga and unfortunately the girls ages 5-8 team level 3 and 4 were selected right after we had to leave Woga. However, I felt Hannah prepared us very well with level 2- 3 skills would like to think our daughter would have done well on a little preteam for younger kids there. Luckily we are blessed and my husband tumor is stable for now and we have been able to come back a few times to do some private lessons with Coach Hannah. We don't know what his health will do but Coach Hannah has been amazing through all of this. Giving, caring, upbeat and helpful in many many many ways as well as continues to be professional and coach and critics our daughter in the same positive, strong, precise, energetic way! God bless you!

As a minority mother of a neurodivergent child with ADHD, I left absolutely heartbroken by how my 7-year-old daughter was treated. Throughout the class, Coach Ashley repeatedly yelled at, corrected, and singled her out in a way that felt drastically different from the treatment of the other children. The final straw was when my daughter was denied a turn on the trampoline while the other children participated. She left class in tears. When I attempted to speak with Coach Ashley afterward, she refused to engage and walked past me. When I brought my concerns to management, I was interrupted before I could finish explaining what happened. There was no apology, no concern for a crying child, and no accountability. The only response was, "I'll change her class." What made this even more upsetting is that this was not the first concerning interaction I have witnessed at WOGA Plano. I have personally observed management speaking harshly and publicly reprimanding other minority children in a way that made me uncomfortable. I cannot tell anyone what was in Coach Ashley's heart, but I can tell you how it felt to watch my daughter be singled out, excluded, humiliated, and reduced to tears while other children were not. As her mother, the experience felt racist, discriminatory, and cruel. WOGA Plano may have a strong reputation, but no reputation excuses making a little girl feel unwanted and unwelcome. I do not recommend WOGA Plano, especially for minority families or families with neurodivergent children. My daughter deserved patience, kindness, and encouragement. Instead, she left asking why her coach was so mean to her.
