First I would like to point out that the other review on here is about the DDay Battle Reenactment…read morenot the museum. The battle is once a year for three days in August . The museum is open all summer on Saturdays and Sundays. And It contains a history of local participation in, not just DDay, but WWII by those who served and on the homefront especially. There are always volunteers who are happy to show you around and to answer any questions. It has displays of those who served from that time and even some German ones. My favorite part is the kitchen, It truly is authentic as it is the original one. I remember my mother having one just like it. It's interesting to learn about all the sacrifices people at home had to make such as rationing. It has lots of displays that you may be surprised to learn about . So take a weekend day in the summer and stop by. You can park within easy walking distance, even in front.

I've known about this event for about the last 15 years. always wanted to come and bring my Dad but…read morehe was already very old and its usually been very hot that time of year. He would really appreciated the historical aspects of the event, having lost his country (Yugoslavia at the time, really Serbia) to Communism and having to spend 1945 to 1950 in Displaced Persons (DP) camps in Europe before coming to America. Always wanted to take my father in law because he had brothers who served during WWII. But again, too old, too hot to go! But finally, this year the weather was great and the wife said lets go! Downloaded/printed the map to specifically try and find reasonably close parking (wife has Parkinson's, need to bring wheelchair). Drove around where we thought parking was but NOT clearly signed thru town. Most streets had No Parking signs on EACH tree lawn so clearly marked. But then we found a close street which was almost fully parked up and only has No Parking signs on the corner so we grabbed the last spot and hung our Handicap placard. Later on, when we left, we found every vehicle on that street with a parking ticket written up shortly after we parked! Nice, sleezy moneymaker for a free event! Note that there was a huge park close to the event with about 5% usage by Boy Scouts; could have easily been free parking for Handicapped The event itself was great. The efforts by the reenactors was great. The battles were cool even for their small scale. The D-Day landing was great considering again the scale possible. The only negative were all the inconsiderate a-holes who came at the last minute and stood in front of people who spent hours staking out there seating/viewing area. Its truly amazing how many a-holes there are in the world. The sound system was poor so all the timeline info was semi recognizable. The fair type food trucks offered pretty good variety of choices at ok prices. Lots of tents/vendors with militaria. My rating would be higher except the $138 parking fine meant we didn't spend anything in any of the local restaurants or stores. Maybe next time when we don't get a ridiculous parking ticket.

The wines were generous pours as well. Tried most of the reds. Prices were a bit. However they were all really good. Carmenere , Malbec and others all good. Throughout the day, he handled transporting all 24 of us around like a champ!! You won't find a better wine shuttle service in the area.

This is the final show for our 2021 subscription and I can't wait until 2022! This year we were delighted with Always.. Patsy Cline, Daddy long legs and finally the Marvelous Wonderettes. All three shows this summer were awesome! The Patsy Cline story and music were excellent, Daddy along legs was fun, romantic and historical. The Marvelous Wonderettes had my dad reminiscing and even brought to a tear or two with fond memories of his younger days, Awesome theater moves people, emotionally through laughter and tears! Spirits lifted, this is True Entertainment !! To say this is a hidden gem in northeast Ohio is an understatement. Under the executive director leadership of Brint Learned, we've seen this theater continue to shine brighter and brighter. We missed it in 2020, and are so glad it safely returned to operation in 2021. My husband and I proudly donated to the new chairs campaign, and wow, what a difference they make! The barn not only hosts groups, partners with local wineries and bed and breakfasts, they are a year round arts education association. The rich history of this site is incredible. Your night stay whether tent, camping, or in one of their facilities comes with breakfast in the morning. You can book on their website or go through hipcamp. There is drinking water and a flush toilet on site for campers to use. They also do different yoga classes lead by Em Keen either in or outside based on the weather. They have a yoga platform in the Meadow, which is amazing. Chris has her own art studio beautiful art that is for sale. Alan makes all different types of sourdough breads, cookies, rolls, pies, and bagels. They also sell their own honey and eggs from their many chickens. You can order on his website. I went September 2023 for their second ever mind-body wellness retreat. It was an amazing 24 hours. A friend and I went to celebrate my birthday. We started out with a tour of the beautiful farm led by Alan. We then had our first class which was yoga, led by Em. we took a little break for lunch, which was homemade soups in homemade sourdough bread bowls made by Alan. We then had a little bit of relaxation time and time to mingle with each other before having a Qigong lead by Paul Zegarac - this was great and extremely interesting. A practice I've never tried before. We then had a mindfulness class back out on the yoga platform in the Meadow, led by Em. we then spent time with other retreat members just visiting before making our own homemade stone oven pizzas made with Alan's homemade sourdough pizza dough. They had a lot of toppings for us to choose from. for a last class of the day we had a sound bath, which was extremely relaxing and led by Mary Conley - as the sun was setting. To end our day we had a closing ceremony around a bonfire, which was just so emotional and memorable. We made s'mores the fire before going to bed. The next morning, Alan and Chris made us French toast buffet breakfast with two different kinds of homemade compote with yogurt and granola , and even some of their honey from their farm. Going to Flannel Dog Farm was an awesome experience, and I look forward to returning!

We went there saw the place and booked it on sight we loved how it looked with its beautiful chandelier. The day of the wedding we were allowed full use of the beautiful changing rooms where we had the hair stylist come in. Now we had the wedding and the reception there and both were perfection. The food was soo good but we had two special orders that came out nearly at the end of dinner service that was frustrating but all the other stuff that they did for us more then made up for that one minor slip up. Now truly the venue is beautiful, the food was delightful, but the true highlight of this place is the staff they are worth the five stars alone. The bartender we had was funny, nice, and mixed one hell of a good drink ( his Long Island ice tea on the beach so good and strong). The wonderful girls who waited on us not only helped serve food at the buffet, helped decorate, helped take things out to the car, and also kept a watchful eye on the guests (stopping a theft) but could not stop saying how lovely it was and how nice every one looked. Then the amazing event coordinator she was there helping with everything and was such a pleasure to work with! I plan to go to their restaurant soon! Thank you Madison Country Club for a perfect day!

One of my favorites, not just in Ohio, but across the United States. Owner Arnie, beloved to many,…read moreincluding fellow wineries local to Grand River is spoken of with great love. Every time I visit, almost every one has an Arnie story to share! Years ago- a friend and I stumbled upon this gem, it was just he and I - and Arnie! This delightful man gave us the tasting of a lifetime! He brought out some special, extra rares HE enjoyed (that he chose to share... just because, hey, good wine is to be shared!) He made us feel so welcomed, I noted Markko as one of my all time faves. In the spring of this year, Markko has a blessing of the vines- I attended with my elderly pup Zoe (17 years) who also shared in the blessings of these happy vibes. The large group toasted to Arnie's memory, and everyone was choked up. His loss reached far and wide. Mastered now by his family, this beautiful, welcoming winery opens its arms to all in its peaceful, rustic, charming space hidden amongst the trees. But don't be fooled by its seclusion- at the heart is some of the most spectacular wine you'll ever try! The Cabernets here are my go to, although the Chardonnay's are distinctfully impressive, each year has notes which stand alone, and you can't pick a single favorite! You'll see yourself - finding this one because it's creamier finish and that one because it's apricot tones are wonderful for hot days and then, and then... Yes that's it! It goes on and on! This last visit, I tried the new Cabernet (blackberry jam right at the front note!), 2021 Chardonnay, Rose' and Pinot Noir. These were lovely- the Rose' was our group's pick- and a surprise choice, as my one friend and I are not typical Rose' drinkers! We *Loved* this one!! The entire group voted for the 2019 Cabernet, in fact, two bottles were consumed post Rose'! That happens a lot here! Each tasting will tell a story. This place is not just a winery or a vineyard, but a legacy. A tribute to a humble, friendly wine master, who through his family, and friends- lives on in each new glorious creation. At closing each day (as we have done more than a few times because time here just stops!) if you listen carefully, you might just hear Arnie's laughter amongst the trees.
