If I could give this store ZERO starts I would! Absolutely worst experience I've ever had with a furniture store! My husband and I bought ourselves a new bed and foundation from this store and paid in full the day we went in. We were told that our items would be delivered a week later! Yes a whole week!! But I thought ok if that's the best they can do then we will wait the whole week. Well the day before our items were to be delivered the customer care called me to notify me that our delivery was delayed for another week because the truck our items were on got delayed. I should've asked for a refund right then and there but since it wasn't entirely the stores fault I waited yet again another week (all the while my husband and my pregnant self have been sleeping on an air mattress for a month). Then the day that our items were to be delivered they kept pushing our delivery times back because the delivery truck couldn't get to our location (Ft.Lewis)!!! I told the customer care people that my husband could pick it up from either the truck if it waited by the gate or from the warehouse. But by the last time they called to tell me that they couldn't deliver our items today the truck had already gotten back to the warehouse and we couldn't pick them up ourselves! This is absolutely ridiculous and I will never purchase anything from here ever again!! Please listen to all the reviews on here and on Google!! Don't ever shop here!!! read more

Update to my previous post. The delivery that took place on 4/19/13 of the pieces of the sectional that we ordered in February, were again of terrible quality with a dent in the back of the corner piece and an armless recliner that is now two inches apart from the rest of the sectional when put together! No response from their corporate office after all the pictures we have taken and emailed to them and directly to the Tacoma store. No telephone calls saying we are so sorry this is happening and we will fix this. No apology what so ever. And the saga continues. read more

Absolutely horrible. I purchased a king sized bed that eventually was delivered 3/18/15. The two men who delivered my bed cut 1 inch by 1 inch holes in my bedroom carpet, all the way through to the cement pad my apartment building sits on, along with other damages to my walls. When the delivery men were finished assembling the bed they came and got me. I was in the living room because my bedroom is too small for three adults and a king sized bed. The man doing most of the talking was hard to understand, could hardly speak English and also stood on top of the hole most easily seen in the carpet when he came to show me the bed assembled. While they were assembling the bed, I heard them in Spanish exclaim desperately "I don't know! I don't know!" Considering I work in the criminal justice field and have evidence of this in my apartment, I assumed they noticed and were nervous. When they left I observed the holes in the carpet. I took pictures, called customer care and a claim was submitted and generated. It has now been three months and one week and my carpet still has not been repaired. I have had to call everyone I can think of. I took a survey and gave a horrible rating and only then did anyone call me. That was two weeks after the claim was submitted and after me repeatedly trying to call them. I have constantly been sending emails and trying to get this fixed. I have been given nothing but the run around. Only now as I'm looking to retain legal counsel to resolve this issue does anyone want to talk to me. I have had enough they are absolutely horrible and that's not even the whole story. If you buy here you are looking for trouble and stress. read more

Worst customer service ever and this is coming from a person that never complains or have never written a bad review. My husband left work early yesterday to make sure he was home for the delivery (4:00-7:00). At 5:00pm he called customer service to make sure they were coming because we want it to go out to celebrate my son's promotion, he was told that we were #10 and they were delivering #9, meaning we were next. At 8pm, still no delivery, not even a courtesy phone call, so he decided to call again.This time they told him that they were delay and there was two deliveries before us, but they were going to still deliver. We cancel our plans. Later on the delivery people call to informed us that the truck broke down and they would deliver tomorrow. My husband called customer service again to inform them and they say they will call back, they never did. We canceled our order this am and I'm closing my Ashley acct. I've been a faithful customer for 11 years in TX, this franchise it's the worst. Don't buy from them. read more

I made a purchase close to $2000 on Feb 21st . My sales person was Amber. I was there with my husband as we were picking a rug. The 8x10 Rug was hung at the time, I wasn't 10 ft tall to see what's on the other end and she never told me it was damaged. She said it was on sale. If you look at your cameras this will prove my word. She said rug will be delivered with the rest of the furniture. After 10 days furniture came, no rug. When called they said We are suppose to pick it up. If that was the case we could've brought it on the same day we made the purchase. And almost 2 weeks no one called for a reminder. On Monday evening My husband picked up the rug which was rolled outside in(which was weird) and given no chance to look at it. Two corners of the rug looks like it's been used before. There's lot of wear and tear. When I called in they says it's final sale, and they mentioned the damage to me at the time of purchase. which they didn't. Why would i pay $200 for a damaged rug? Already filed a complaint to the BBB and will continue to fight this until they admit and solve this for us. Such a great customer service for $2000 worth purchase. Since 2009 from bedroom to living room everything I own is from Ashley Furniture. Never once returned or exchanged anything. But this is my first time with Tacoma store and what a sad experience dealing with liars for $199? Geez! read more

this place is fucking horrible!!! im so pissed the fuck off. do not purchase from here. go to discount direct!! i first ordered a bed frame, mattress, dresser, 2 side tables & 2 lamps. already at the store they said my dresser and mattress will be about 4 weeks out, okay whatever we were fine with it because we were happy with what we had just ordered. when the bed frame it had scratches on it, only one side table came and didnt have the usb part on it like it was supposed to, they only brought one lamp, & my couch didnt fit through in my home (not their fault), but they scratched my ceiling with the couch! we ended up calling about all of that and going down to ashleys. when you try to call the actual store it goes to a punk ass mothafuckin callcenter & they asses dont know shit. we go there & they said the bed set only came with one side dresser, what kind of shit!!! but okay whatever we paid for the other one, however the lamps was supposed to come with two. so had to correct that. while we were there we then paid for a dining room table set, a rug, & living room set tables. we left. when the dining room came it had scratches and so did a chair! (we canceled the living tables). so we were already pissed because something else of course went wrong. we go back to the store as always because you cannot fuckin get through, were looking for a new couch set because the old one didnt fit of course, we found one we liked with the tables. they said our loveseat wasnt going to be delivered for a month, annoying as fuck already, (we had no choice because we knew it would fit in the house) well today the sofa & tables were supposed to be delivered. the sofa was correct & fit but they brought the wrong fuckin tables!!!! like why the fuck does something keep going wrong!!! i had to call the damn center once again, they had to transfer me because they couldnt do shit about it & the store said they mightve keyed something in wrong like huh!!! i even received a call from the corporate office in arizona and she said shes on my side & connected me back to the store and had me tell them i needed to be compensated and he told me they can give us gift cards for future purchases i told him i wouldnt be purchasing another item from them. since were doing the payment plan he said we have to come in once again to see how they can compensate us with the payment. so hopefully it goes good tomorrow. oh! and were still waiting for someone to come out and do something about the fuckin ceiling!!!!!!!!! read more

Went in to Ashley back on September. The service we received in store was superb. No complaints there. However, beyond the store, it was garbage. And truthfully, I will more than likely never buy from Ashley Furniture again. Last year, we ordered furniture and had no issues getting it. But this time, we bought quite a few more pieces and had nothing but issues. First, the items we ordered were split into three orders. Then, they delivered a table, that had bad tracks to begin with. As to why they would deliver broken brand new furniture is beyond me...but it's unacceptable. So they reported it and were having a repair tech come fix it. We were told it would be fixed when the tech came out. After waiting weeks, the tech comes out and tells us he has to order the part?! Excuse me?! So I call and speak to someone who says that they can talk to a lead about doing an exchange. Fine. The lead approves the exchange and it won't be delivered for another two weeks. Nothing else to accommodate us for our inconvenience, just another wait to exchange something that should have been delivered in brand new, working condition. Needless to say, I will not be spending anymore money at Ashley Furniture. The customer is the least of their worries! My money will be spent elsewhere, someplace that values customers and their time. Shame on this company. Just having bought a house, we have plenty of space to furnish, but we will take our business to another store for the rest of our furnishing. read more

If I could give minus stars I would. My girlfriend and I went furniture shopping last August for a love seat for her. I talked her into waiting to check out two more furniture stores that might have a bit higher quality. We went to Harkness and was greeted by a nice woman who took us all around the store to look at various love seats, my friend saw a couple she liked, but I said let's wait and check out Ashley. We walked in and asked about the love seats...I knew the Tacoma Ashley was a mistake when the woman just pointed in the direction and continued talking with another staff member. We found a couple love seats my friend liked and one in particular. We looked around for a sales associate, a couple walked right by us, another sales associate walked by who was serving others it was obvious we were trying to get the attention of someone to help us ...no one did. We gave up and took a picture of what she wanted and as we left I have to admit, I did say loud enough for the woman who "pointed" to hear "I guess no one wants our business" and left. We returned to Harkness, to the nice sales woman, who said she thought they could probably special order it...they did. xdelivery was on time, they kept my friend in the loop for delivery, they arrived when they said..great experience. Sorry Ashley, it's not the quality of your furniture....it's not your store...it's beautiful inside...it's your customer service...or rather lack of! This furniture buying experience was the worse customer service I have EVER received in my life! The only redeeming quality this company has is the lady who helped me pick out the furniture and rug to begin with and it went to hell from there. 12/1/16 my couch, bed, mattress and rug were delivered. The rug came in, good all is fine. The couch started to come in and I told the guy where I wanted it, he told me "no good no good" (didn't really speak fluent English) he told me the arm of the couch was on the wrong side to place it how I wanted it. So he called someone... maybe customer care and handed me the phone, I told him what the delivery guy told me and the guy on the phone said okay have them take it back and call the store to schedule a new delivery... I told the guy on the phone I needed a couch before Saturday and he said the store would help with that so we hung up and I called the store. I was on hold with the store for almost 40 min before getting to talk to anyone. While I was on hold the bed came in and I told the delivery guys where I wanted the headboard and I stepped into the hall (still on hold) The guys came out and I went to check on the bed and the headboard was on the wrong wall (this couldn't had been a langue barrier as I stood right where I needed the head board and pointed "head board here facing out"). Still on hold I had them move the bed to the wall it was to be on. I didn't notice until that night the headboard was chipped. I called customer care to report the chip and every time I call it's a 40 min wait and then I get disconnected mid call??!!!! The bed itself is not very good quality and the foot board rail sticks out past the mattress?? Still on hold...the guy has me sign for the pieces I got and leaves. I finally get a hold of the store and they tell me the manager is gone and to call back in the morning. I stress to her that that's fine but I do need a couch before Saturday as I have my daughters 4th birthday party and 30 people coming over, she said the manger would take care of it and to call back in the morning. Well I tried to call in the morning over and over, apparently the phone systems were down by 12pm I got a hold of the south center store and told them what was going on and he sent the Tacoma store an email to contact me asap. I didn't get a call from them till hours later. They told me that I couch I got was the same set up as the show room (which is what I wanted...) So I'm assuming the delivery guy was confused on how to put the couch together??? I told the girl That I needed a couch asap and didn't care which set up it is but that I needed one by Saturday morning. She told me I wasn't getting a couch Saturday and that Monday was the earliest...I asked if I could have the floor model and that was a no as well (by the way it's now Monday night and I'm still waiting on a delivery date) I had my daughter birthday party with no couch, I had to borrow random chairs from people. They were completely uncaring and rude! I can't even describe to you the stress this caused me. On top of all the horrible things going on in my life right now buying a new couch and bed should have been a fun and exciting thing to distract me but it ended up breaking me. I'm to the point I don't want any of it any more, I sure as hell will never buy Ashley again and I will tell everyone and anyone who asks me about my experience. read more

I purchased a couch love seat on Dec. 7, 2016. Was told it could not be delivered until Dec 29. The person/cashier (not the sales person)was snooty and rude. I paid for it and she overcharged me by 300.00+. I asked her to explain the charges. She took it back and redid the invoice correctly. Not once did she say anything to me. I was beginning to think she couldnt talk until she handed my paperwork to me and said here is your paperwork. Dec. 29 comes and only the Love seat shows up. No couch. I call customer service and wait over 20 minutes. Person tells me she will contact the warehouse manager and get back to me. She does not follow up. I finally call back in the late afternoon and get a person that apologizes and reschedules for Jan 2,2017. I had peple coming over to a living room with only a love seat in it. I had to go buy folding chairs. She offers a partial refund on the shipping fee (which I have yet to see). Jan 2 gets here and I call again since I have not had a confirmation. After 18 minute wait I get a third customer service who tells me the couch is not scheduled to be delivered. I ask for a manager. Who tells me the same thing. She reschedules again 5 days later. Have taken too much time off waiting for them to deliver on their promises. This is the worst case of customer service I have had in years. While sitting on the phone you hear constantly how Ashley Furniture wants you to have an exciting easy and fun experiance. Huh???? I will not be buying again which is too bad since they had a bedroom set I was going to purchase. Glad I did not purchase as I dont do well sleeping on the floor. Ashley definetly has a warehouse disconnect that is hurting their business. Pay the few extra $$ and shop elsewhere. read more

I am extremely frustrated with the delivery and servicing process since my purchase at Ashley in September. My husband and I visited the local Ashley furniture in Tacoma to purchase items for our new home. We purchased a sectional and an entertainment center and were blown away with the salesperson. She was very personable and we were committed to coming back in and purchasing more items for our home as we had numerous rooms to furnish. However, after nearly 2 months of trying to correct the numerous errors in our delivery as well as fixing our badly assembled entertainment center...we have had it. Delivery 1- missing the 2nd part of our sectional due to backorder, delivery folks neglected to bring their assembly instructions for the entertainment center and were at the home for more than an hour trying to work with their warehouse to get the pieces together, they finally assembled it haphazardly leaving a 1/2 gap in between the jointed sections. Delivery 2- the 2nd piece of the sectional was delivered but missing the back seat cushion (called and was informed that they would fedex the missing piece). Delivery 3- back seat cushion delivered via FedEx but accompanied by a box of cotton fill and no corresponding pillows or pillowcases, just fill. Delivery 4- called in to the service center with the complaint that the entertainment center had been assembled incorrectly and described the gap at joints and the non corresponding shelving pegs on the center shelf units. Sent in pictures 3x as the email address provided was not able to support so many images, worked with a service center rep to text the images of the defunct unit and she scheduled a service visit. Drivers came out and inspected the unit and were able to tighten the gap on the overhead unit but determined that the bottom unit would need to be returned. Stated that they would send in a report and I should call to request the replacement on that unit. I called and spoke with another rep at the service center and she has scheduled the 5th delivery/service visit. That is 5 visits to the home, countless phone calls and the matter still has not been resolved. As I stated, my husband and I had planned on making more purchases with Ashley but this experience has definitely soured us on purchasing anything else with your company. Our friends, family and colleagues have been with us thru this trying experience and they are appalled at the amount of work it has taken to get our two pieces of furniture situated in our home. We all feel that this has been a ridiculous process and believe that sales skills will get you so far but it's the service that turns a client into a lifelong client & advocate for your company. Stay away from this store if you don't want to waste hours of your life applying for financing you will never receive. I have great credit and a fairly low debt to income ratio. My husband and I went in for the labor day sale wanting to take advantage of the sale and the 12 month 0% financing to get a couch. We go in, pick a couch, fill out a form and get declined for the 0% financing, but we qualified for their in house financing, the most it would be is 29.99% but that's only if your credit isn't good (I have a 650 credit score)... but they won't tell us what the interest rate is. AN HOUR AND A HALF LATER we are given the go ahead to talk to the financing people and they tell us the interest rate is 29.99%..... We were irate. We sat there for 2 hours and got the run around just to be charged $300 in interest. Needless to say we walked out and felt like we had been baited and switched. It doesn't matter if you have perfect credit.... you won't' get the 0% financing.... so don't waste your time and don't' listen to any of the shady sales people. read more

BUYER BEWARE! This company has the absolute worst customer service & they are full of lies and excuses! My first buyer experience was bad, to say the very least. I bought two sectionals for my home. They weren't delivered for over a month from the date of purchase. When the day of delivery arrived, they didn't deliver the sectionals on time & had numerous apologies for the delay. When they finally did deliver the sectionals, they delivered the wrong one so we had to send them back. We had to wait another month to get the sectional delivered. When the sectional came, it was the wrong combination with the chaise lounge at the wrong end. Instead of wanting to go through another month of waiting we just settled with the chaise lounge at the wrong end. In an attempt to give Ashley Furniture the benefit of the doubt, we assumed it was just a rare occurrence & returned to purchase a full bedroom set about a year later. BOY WERE WE WRONG! We recently ordered a $7,000 bedroom set. Close to the delivery date, we attempted to contact the company to confirm the date & time of delivery. We found out that the company did not utilize the phone number given at the time of our purchase & instead used an old number that was out of service. We updated our new phone number online prior to the purchase and in store at the time of purchase. So instead of confirming our delivery, we were told that we were taken off the delivery schedule because they could not contact us by phone. Infuriated, we called the store & requested to speak to a manager. We were told the manager would call us back. After waiting 5 hours without a phone call, we went into the store. And of course, the manager was "in a meeting" and the service representative at the desk was more helpful than any person in the company we have dealt with so far. The service representative apologized & took off the delivery cost & promised the original delivery date. When our bedroom set arrived, the dresser was missing & not delivered. Upon calling & attempting to ascertain why the dresser wasn't delivered, the company had no idea & provided no explanation even after contacting their own warehouse. We were given yet another delivery date and time which was today 09-13-2014 between 12pm-3pm. At 2:30pm we called to inquire about a phone call regarding the delivery & were told the truck was running behind & the new time block was between 4pm-5pm. I am now contemplating canceling my entire order. This company is a pile of shit & that it putting it lightly. I will NEVER EVER shop here again & suggest nobody else does unless you enjoy utter disappointment. This is a company full of apologies & void of dependability & quality of customer care. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! Purchased a reclining chair and a month later it completely broke. Reclined all the way to the floor, backwards!! They picked up the chair and now it has been 2 months and still no chair. Oh, they say they can fix the chair, right! After waiting on hold forever, visiting the customer service people at the actual Ashley Furniture store, today I hit my limit. I received three phone calls confirming delivery of my fixed chair. Delivery was today. Waited for the entire delivery time frame and guess what no chair! Called and waited on hold AGAIN and oh this really tops it all....the chair is not even fixed yet! SERIOUSLY! No phone call last night, no phone call this morning telling me the chair would not be delivered. I had to call and find out what was going on. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL!!! I want my chair or I want my money back. Oh and by the way I want my money back for the matching chair I bought so I can just be done with this horrific company! NEVER AGAIN, NEVER AGAIN!! Our salesman Ashton at the Tacoma location was fantastic. Very calm, laid-back, friendly and helpful. I already knew what I wanted (dining table with 4 chairs) so the process was pretty painless. This last visit was a lot better than our other experiences. Previously (and I've gone in there quite a bit) we've been pestered and followed around; were not given full info on the credit through Synchrony and when we decided against it, got a stink attitude and even had one rep who tried to help us who all she could say was 'did i already help you once before?' So needless to say this last visit warrants a 5 but overall the store itself warrants a 3. I opted to have my set delivered and it arrived today. The delivery men were pretty unprofessional and rude. They deliver and setup and really, the setup process was a few nails that we could have easily done. The first gentleman brought in the heavy base part and before even asking us to move some things around so he could get through, he banged it on the door, the recliner and our entry table. When the bf made a comment to please be careful and let us know if we should move some things around, we got the stink eye. Then when he came in to put a few screws in, it seemed he didn't have the right drill and the bf said excuse me, in which we got a rude 'what?' We asked if he needed a different drill and he gave a terse no, that he was fine. It sounded like he wasn't drilling into the right holes but luckily he didn't do any damage. When they were outside bringing in the chairs, the bf went out into the garage and heard the one delivery man b**ching about him. How rude!! First you don't treat out product with any real care and then you get an attitude because we ask you to please be careful. Trust me, if the bf had been rude in any way I would have said something but we were both nothing but courteous. So the point I'm trying to make is that give Ashley a try, they have decent products and if you go at the right time, you might benefit from an ok deal (but do your research). Not all the salespeople are vultures and there are definitely those worth working with. However, if you're able to take it home yourself, do so. The delivery men I'm sure aren't all this rude and inconsiderate but don't be surprised if you get one that is. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! We bought a sectional in May 2015. The craftsmanship is poor at best, the sofa is falling apart before our eyes. Walked into store to report the issue we are having, they didn't care, just referred us to call the 800 #. We did, finally got a tech to come to the house. He agreed that the item was sub par, ordered parts for it, and told me they should arrive in 2 weeks. He also told me that I should follow up because, the department that orders parts doesn't. Seemed weird that I have to follow up and that the tech can't order his own parts. Six weeks later and a few calls I still do not have parts. I can't return the sofa because they said I have had it since May even though I reported my dissatisfaction within the first 30 days. No refunds or exchanges! Ashley does not stand behind their products, they don't care about quality or if their customers are satisfied. I would rank it a zero but can't and will never shop here again! read more

I recently decided on a bedroom set, so I hobbled my sore left hip to the Tacoma Ashley on Thanksgiving night, got a great deal and delivery was setup for December 10th. Took the day off and then got a phone call and date was changed to the 17th because they couldn't locate the bed rails, was unable to get my shift back and lost $240.00,got another call and date was again changed to the 24th,this time they didn't have the headboard took another day off, got another call and date was changed to the 27th,again unable to get my shift back and lost another $240.00, So today I went down to the store, ready to cancel my order. The manager met me at the door realizing steam was coming from my ears and immediately asked for my forgiveness and my business, being the angel I am, I gave him and his company another chance. he accompanied me around the store and helped me to choose another set, promised that it would be delivered tonight before 9pm because he had that set in his warehouse, he even threw in a set of lamp. Its at 830pm I called the store to inquire of the delivery time ,I was placed on hold for 20 minutes, I hung up and called back. It seems like the receptionist kept sending me to an answering system that didn't accept calls, this happened countless times. Its currently 944pm and I can't wait until the am so I can fly over the narrows bridge and get a much needed refund. I'm gonna leave my girlfriend home because I know the shit I'm gonna receive tonight while I'm on the sofa and wouldn't want them to feel her wrath , being the angel that I am read more

If I could give NO stars I would. I ordered a table on 11/11/15. Over the phone. With a sales associate at the Tacoma store. He was very helpful and polite. I received the table today and they were missing hardware, bolts for the support beam for my table. In order to put the bolts on you have to flip the heavy table on it's top to put them in. SO, I would have to set up another time for them to come. Also, the end of the table had glue that had been stained. I decided I didn't want the table, it didn't look good in my house. I called customer service was on hold for 35 minutes before I finally hung up. I called the Tacoma store and chose the option for sales associate and got someone right away (of course). Told the lady who answered my problem. She said that because the return was not made within 48 hours of ordering they could not give me a refund. I told her I ordered the table over the phone so if there was only a 48 window for delivery then they should make sure to deliver it within 48 hours. (Also, it probably technically missed the 48 hour mark by maybe an hour, which I spent trying to get a hold of them.) I told her I called as soon as I was able to look at the table and realized it didn't work. It has been one hour only because that's how long it has taken me to get ahold of anyone. I was then transferred to customer service and waited on hold I believe for another 30 minutes. Then, while talking to customer care, it took another 30 minutes with her. She finally told me she was going to transfer me to online orders...I said..NO! I didn't order online. She finally got her manager to sign off on it and said that I would get a call within 48 hours when they can pick up. Then, it would take 14 days to refund for the table once the warehouse receives it. It took them 30 minutes to take my money when I ordered it. My experience has been nothing but a nightmare and I will NEVER EVER shop at ASHLEY FURNITURE EVER!! read more
