Horrible place, I walked in to buy a rug and a foot stool for the end of my bed and NO ONE came to me and asked if I needed help. I walked around the store for about 15 minutes and still no one came over. It's sad that customer service has dwindled that much. Where do I even begin. My husband and I went into the store on the 8/9. We ordered a temperpedic mattress along with all the fixens to go along with it. Our total was $4600. Our sales associate seemed slightly incompetent but we went with the flow. We ordered our bed and were told we would be called 3 days prior to delivery to "set up" a 3 hour delivery window. I then received a call on 8/16 telling me that our window was from 8-11am. I told them that those were the only 3 hours that wouldn't work, and I thought this was gonna be discussable,not being told. They told me "no ma'am that's not how it works, it's either 8-11 or we schedule for another day" I obviously got upset, and demanded to talk to a manager. Over another 3 different calls with 3 different "customer care" people I finally was able to get it delivered from 5-8pm on the original delivery date which was 8/19. I then Received a call on the day of delivery telling me that the bed was not gonna be delivered, they didn't have the mattress and the truck had already left without my stuff on it. I get another call telling me that they now have my stuff but it can't get to me until Friday....which wasn't gonna work. I went down to the store to actually talk to a human face to face....Michelle got right on it talking/emailing managers to figure out what was up. She looked in her system and said "we'll ma'am it says here that it's on truck #2." I laughed cuz at this point I've already talked to 4 people that day and it wasn't even noon yet. She was on the phone with the warehouse and said that all my stuff had arrived and that she was able to get it for same day delivery...the window was from 3-9pm. I said thanks so much. I also received a confirmation cal from "customer care" stating the same thing, "same day delivery. You'll have your bed by 9pm." I waited up until 10:30pm...until I needed to start blowing up my air mattress, cuz that's what my husband and I get to sleep on now. I call first thing on 8/20. One the phone for 1hour and 15 minutes. Finally got through to an Aron at the Texas warehouse/"customer care". He assured me I was gonna get some answers....which didn't happen. He also told me he was gonna call me back before he left for the day....which he didn't. I called the Tacoma store and dealt with Toylyn and Christina and again.....no answers. Finally they tell me that the manufacturer messed up....and it's gonna take until the 30th to get my bed. Obviously at this point I'm absolutely furious.....2 nights already on an air mattress and now another how many??? I told her I needed some compensation for something.....but nobody is authorized to do anything in that company, and managers don't care...in my opinion. She said she will get back to me. Which she never did....I had to call every single time. Finally The store manager said they could give me free delivery and 2 pillows. Ha!! I laughed.....so now it's Thursday 8/21.... Still no bed, still no answers, and 2 unhappy individuals. I cancelled my order, went somewhere else. Bed being delivered in 1 day, 2 free pillows, free delivery, AND I saved $1500. I have been hunting for a new couch for some time now as I am CONSTANTLY redecorating my home and having shopped with them before at another store I figured I'd check out the new(er) store in Tacoma and was so frustrated. I went in wanting to sit on a few couches and take home some measurements and I was not left alone for a second to breathe I constantly had sales associates coming up to me pestering me and it did not matter how many times I said I just wanted to look around I was constantly bombarded with ways to purchase, information on sales, and what other colors whatever I was walking by came in. If you like having information constantly shoved down your throat and being bombarded with random facts about every single thing this is the store for you. I prefer a shopping experience where I don't feel like I have to buy buy buy buy I understand working on a commission, but give the customer a little room to take a breath. read more

Customer service directs my call to other Associates who is of no help. Like this guy named Tim he asked me to hold and hanged up. I called again he kept me on hold again for 14 minutes. I wish I had something better to say about this store because they have several beautiful pieces that I'd like to buy but I won't now. I purchased a rug in the store and was told that it would be freshly made by the manufacturer and then shipped directly to my house. I was told that I'd be given a tracking number and would need to be home to accept the shipment. I've been patiently waiting for almost a month and finally called today to see when I could expect a tracking number only to find out that they attempted delivery yesterday and the shipment is already headed back to Texas with no way to turn it around or have it be stored at the Ashley furniture store for pick-up. I had NO WAY to know that they had even tried to deliver the rug. I didn't even know it was on its way. There was zero communication about anything. Our address was correct on the delivery slip, they had my contact info to call and confirm or ask directions if they really needed it, and no one thought to tell the paying customer that their purchased rug wasn't going to be successfully delivered before it was already headed back to the manufacturer. When I went to the store to find all this out, I was offered the floor model for a "25%" discount which was not that at all. The 25% was adding the initial 15% I got off for an in-store sale and a 10% discount for my inconvenience. The only reason I'm giving anything higher than 1 star is because the manager finally honored the full 25% floor model discount instead of trying to lump in the other discount I originally had for buying it when I did. Long story short: don't buy Ashley furniture if you want to have it shipped. It turns out that no one provides tracking numbers anyway (some employees "just say that") and if there are any delivery issues, you won't be notified about them anyway. read more

Horrible store and horrible experience; made 3 attempts to purchase a bedroom set; on the first attempt the salesman was so pushy that I left empty-handed. I made two more attempts to purchase a bedroom set and on both visits, there no one greeted and/or offered to help me. If you don't mind spending $4000 and then never getting a return phone call, this place is for you. Yes, I did place my order on Thursday before Labor Day, but I also came back into the store on Sunday and then 6!!! phone calls and voicemails later, I had to go back in on Wednesday 9/5 because according to the floor manager, they were still so busy on Wednesday, they couldn't answer the phone or make any return calls, including the 2 calls and voicemails I made on Wednesday 9/5. Btw - I sat there for 30 mins on 9/5 from 5:20 until 5:50 and not once did the phone ring and the only customer who came in after me also had a customer service issue. I was there long enough to hear her say she tried calling and leaving voicemails but no one answered and no one returned her calls. The parking lot out front was almost completely empty. The absolute ONLY reason I didn't tell them to come pick up the furniture and refund my money was because of the amazing salesman Mickey who helped me on Thursday. Mickey - get some experience here while you can and then look for a different job location that won't sabotage all of the hard work you put into winning over new customers. On a side note - I can't believe that I completely forgot to read reviews of a store front location before shopping for a big ticket item. I called to inquire if they had a certain dining room chair set in stock. The sales person said they did, but as we were speaking she accidentally hung up. I waited for a call back since she had my number ( I had called previously, and the main store gave the Tacoma store my number to call me). Since she did not call me back, I called her number (I had it on my caller ID). When she picked up, she admitted it was her fault that the phone hung up and chuckled about it. I asked for another sales person who would be interested in a sale. She gave my number to Sharri (It may be spelled incorrectly, if there was actually another person she gave my number to...who knows). As of yet, I have not received a call back from Sharri. They just lost a sale. I am willing to pay the price from a competitor who also carries the same brand in their online store. Customer service is poor...furniture is beautiful, though. read more

My horrible experience with Ashley home furniture.  On January 16th picked my four pieces of living-room furniture.  January 25th only three pieces of the the living room set arrived.  Was told my the driver that the accent chair was on back order.  I was in contact with the store three times before the delivery date and was NEVER told that the chair was on back order.  So I called the store for a answer as I spoke to a manager she told me that at some point I should have been informed of the back order and I would have my chair on February 1.   I had picked out a lift top coffee table and when I lifted the top two screws fell out.  upon further inspection of the table there are supposed to five screws to hold the top to the bracket.  three of the five were missing and the third was in the space of the table and the last one was half hanging to the bracket and top.  I called the store that day to let the company know of problem with the table and DID NOT want to keep it.  It was explained to me that a tech had to come to my home and inspect the table for it to be returned or exchanged.  Then after another phone call and speaking with a manager I was told that I could return the table.  On Monday January 27 I received a called that stated that I was scheduled for a delivery on Tuesday January 28th between 12 and 3pm.  I confirmed the call and then called the store to see what was going to be delivered to my home I was told that i it was my accent chair I asked to person to please check again to make sure that it was actually my chair and was assured it was my chair. At this time I asked if the clearly BROKEN coffee table could be returned and was told by a man named Matt it could be picked up for return. Today I received a call from the warehouse to tell me that the chair was not in stock and would not be to my home until the 14th of February the young lady from the warehouse told me that she was unsure why the order was confirmed but the item was never in stock and should have never been called so I asked the question on if the coffee table was still going to picked up and the lady I spoke to said she would check and return my call.  At 1145 today I called the customer care office and spent  over an hour to get the matter of the BROKEN coffee table resolved and have just been told I can not return this item.   The table was only returnable within 48 hours of the purchase. I purchased the table on the 16th and was set for delivery on the 25th or how could I have known the table was BROKEN. The options I have are to allow a tech to come to my home and inspect the table order the part or parts and work on the table in my home or email the photos the BROKEN table and hope for some kind of exchange.  I have spoke to the office manager several times and she has not returned any of my calls nor has anyone from customer care. read more

This store is full of CLOWNS & JOKERS. My furniture has been rescheduled 4 times to be delivered. One of those times they took me off the schedule and tried to say there was no notes for a scheduled delivery. Another Time they lied and said they came to my home and left a note in my damn mailbox ? Lmao! If you left a note in my mailbox clearly you couldn't find my door to knock n see if I was home. Not even a phone call when they supposedly "arrived". And the note that was in my mailbox was a damn door hanger ! A door hanger ! So if you knocked on my door wouldn't it be on the door right ?... I've had to come up to the store numerous times from them lying about giving me calls back. My information was wrong in the system for MONTHS ! I told them to correct it over 5 times ! Their customer service sucks! Their delivery service sucks! Do not spend your hard earned money with these stupid people. Go somewhere else where they don't lie to you about dates and deliveries. try Macy's furniture gallery or maybe big lots or somewhere else. We will not be returning to the Tacoma location! We have purchased from Ashley for years..We PCS'd to WA from TX and needed a new entertainment center, a bedroom set for my daughter and a couple of dressers. Of course we went to Ashley's (we like to do our business with the same places as much as we can). We walked into the store (My husband, myself, my teenage daughter and our newborn), looked around and found exactly what we wanted (it took about an hour) and waited (patiently) for a salesperson...another hour goes by and we had been ignored...literally had sales people walk past us to greet people coming in the door or too busy on their phones (1 was on Facebook ) to even assist us. My husband went down stairs where a rep was standing next to a computer but not with a customer and he waited for her to make eye contact (again she was on her phone) and when she did...she didn't say a word..looked at him and walked off. After 2 hours and 23 minutes we walked out without purchasing anything at all. All because your sales team refused to do what they hired to do...SELL. Worst customer service experience of my life honestly..and now my husband and I need to find another company to purchase all of our furniture from. read more

We went to the Tacoma store today to see what they had because their website was lagging. 2 stars because the furniture was pretty good...however I would have given them only 1 star because of the sales person. We let her know that we just wanted to look. I totally understand commission sales...but following our every step thru the store was a bit much. Buyer Beware! I agree with the others, negative stars. Do not buy from ashley furniture! Quality of furniture is Poor. Horrible customer care departments (shady) no call backs, the customer has to call them and even then you don't get your issue resolved. Our sales person was nice, followed us round a little to much but nice. Delivery was horrible, they dropped our dining table damaged it and it took forever to get it replaced, they don't return calls when they say they will, you have to call them (and several times). Customer care probably thinks that if they don't acknowledge the customer, the customer will give up and Ashley won't have to replace the furniture (even when its already paid for). I FINALLY got my table delivered and the finish is very thin, poor quality, customer care is located in TX and they couldn't give a care. Don't buy from ashley go to Bassett for quality furniture and quality customer service. I didn't listen to my freind (she bought a couch that fell apart in 5 mths and it took a lot of calls on her part before they finally fixed it) or the yelp reviews and now here I am writing a negative star review. We made a terrible mistake going to the Tacoma store to buy a new very expensive mattress! Our salesperson Amber was nice enough but didn't ask the correct questions about what type of bed frame we owned that the mattress would be going into. She kept mentioning we have the customer sleep guarantee if the first mattress doesn't work out after 30 days of sleeping on it.You choose another. I wish she would also have told us about two of their locations having the diagnosis sleep mattress machine. As soon as we got the mattress & box springs I called & even went into the store to let her know I needed a stool to get in because of the box springs being high as well as the mattress. The low profile box springs would fix that. She said no problem, I'll get my manager to approve it & if I needed a comfort guarantee exchange after 30 days it would be all done together. That was a lie. Never once did their store manager reach out to talk to us. In the paperwork it said on #4 this program excludes all adjustable foundations. I said you need to change your wording then because this clearly doesn't apply to my box springs. Mind you mine were not adjustable foundations but that's why the manager & regional manager said no to exchanging the too high of regular box springs. I went round & round with talking to different people at that store but no one would step up to help us as good paying customers! Our whole experience with Ashley Furniture Homestore has been a nightmare! They have no customer relations at the corporate office or at the regional level either. There are two men at the Olympia store I want to say a big thank you to & commend, Alan Silva an awesome trained salesman. Also a manager there named Michael Bower, who was the only one with this company that listened & had good customer relations skills! This is my first time ever writing a bad review for any company, but I want people to be aware of the total lack of customer relations with this company! Someone did call and tried to help. However the fix was to deliver a whole new couch. This puts me back to the delivery department who again assigned this to be delivered on a weekday in the morning when I am at work. I cannot afford to miss another day of work for a fourth delivery. When I spoke to customer service to get this rescheduled they told me I was given a 12 hour window on a Saturday and could not assign a time frame. 12 hour window is unreasonable. Please pick up damage couch and provide a full refund. Will not be purchasing anything from this store ever again and have told everyone I know. I work in logistics and scheduling a delivery cannot be that hard. Especially when the company is trying to fix a mistake. Delivery should have some sort of priority status to make things right. Not keep putting customers in the same situation of bad and unhelpful customer service. read more

We wish we would have taken the reviews into consideration before buying with Ashley. Our initial in store experience was great. However, we had our furniture delivered to our new home, and were very excited for it. We had both taken vacation, and we're going to help our two year old transition from his crib to a bed during this time. The first time they delivered, our sectional and dining table were great, but one of the night stands for our own bedroom set was missing, and they were missing the hardware and slats to put the bed together, so they took it back and I left a message with customer care who never returned my call. We then spoke to the store, and we got a new date of today, 1/3/18 for the new bed, but they were unable to tell us when the nightstand was going to be in. Well, today, our child's bed was still missing slats, and the delivery drivers who are contracted out thought it was ridiculous and said there are many issues with Ashley. They had taken away the delivery fee which was lovely, and then offered to give us 75 dollar gift card to spend more money at their store. We had to argue to give them 50 bucks off our nightstand, because we will no longer be spending any money with them. We spent over 7,000 in this store, and really wish we hadn't. When we talked to the store today, they wanted to blame the warehouse, but I had to explain to the gal it's still the Ashley name that continues to not have it together, and not seem to care. We have had to carve out two days to ensure we are home on our vacation, and still don't have a bed for our son. When we talked to the store manager, we had to convince her the bed was separate from our other orders and that we already paid for the bed. She wanted to argue with us that it was on the credit program. They are now having to get approval to give us a refund and cancel the order for the bed. This experience was a nightmare and I caution anyone before buying from them. read more

We purchased a couple mattresses a week ago this past Sunday and asked our sales gal if they were in stock and we were told yes so we set up delivery for that Friday. We were called to confirm our delivery on Wednesday that they would be here between 8 and noon. Well we received a phone call Friday Morning saying they didn't have them and we could have the delivered Tuesday January 18th We Received a phone call this morning (January 18th) saying they came in late and could not be delivered today because the truck was already loaded for deliveries today therefore ours was not going to be delivered again!!!!! We disposed of our old mattress on Thursday when we thought they were delivering our mattresses. We called the store manager and she was supposed to call us back and never did. We have purchased so much furniture from Ashley Furniture because we have received such good service, but this time has been so bad we will NEVER BE BACK!!! read more

My husband had brought a piece of furniture here and the couch actually smelled pretty bad but besides that he also brought a piece of artwork and when it came time to deliver the furniture and the artwork they didn't have the artwork and had sold the piece of artwork to another customer. The artwork that my husband had ALREADY PAID FOR!!!!!! oh yeah let me say they are not very trustworthy if you ask me. How are you gonna sell to another customer, what was already brought and paid for and instead of refunding the money that same day we had to wait for a check to come. glad the check didn't bounce cause I was a little worried ....Man, I tell you people want you to spend your money and you get this kinda treatment you best believe I will NEVER purchase anything from this store. The office manager was very patient when processing my paperwork as I tried to decide last minute which dining set I was going to go with. I opened this Yelp account just for Ashleys. I have tried to leave feedback with several "customer service" reps to help them where there service is lacking with no response. My sister and I purchased a sectional and dining room table 9/1. We were told delivery was backed up and they would not be able to deliver until 9/20. So I took that day off from work. I called 9/19 to make sure they had my number on file for delivery only to find out my items were now back ordered until 9/26. No apology for the delay. No apology or explanation as to why no one called to notify me that the delivery was canceled. So I take the 26th off from work. I call 9/25 to confirm the delivery for the next day, only to find out my items would not be delivered again. This cs rep did apologize, and said he would move some inventory around so I could have all items delivered 10/3. Still no explanation as to why no one from Ashleys didn't call to notify me the appointment was canceled again. I thanked him and asked him to make sure my number was the one they had on file. The next day they call my sister to say they would be delivering 9/28. She didnt answer bc she was at work. They were supposed to have my number on file anyway. She called them back and gave them my number for delivery. I was surprised they were going to deliver that Friday instead of the following Monday like I was told, but took Friday off from work instead. Friday evening I was running errands when I received a phone call saying the delivery team was at my apartment. I was surprised again bc I was told I would be given a 30 minutes heads up before they arrive. I get to my apartment and am asked by the delivery guy why I wasn't answering his numerous phone calls. Come to find out despite telling customer service on three separate occasions to call my number they still called my sister. The men who delivered were very kind and professional. However they only had half my order and of the half the did have the pieces for the sectional were incorrect. I was tired of calling cs since I had no luck with them resolving my issues, so I went to the store to speak to someone in person. Sarah A. is amazing. She is the only one in this whole process who seems to care about my situation and tried to resolve it. She changed the number on the account to my number since the previous three people asked to change it did not. She said they would come again 10/3 with the rest of my order and the correct piece of sectional. So I take 10/3 off from work. However today, 10/3, my sister received a text asking her to call to confirm our delivery. Since she was at work she did not see the text for several hours and couldn't call them back. So she sent me the text and I called to confirm the delivery. However they canceled on me again and said they would not be able to deliver until 10/4. I asked why they called my sister and they said they did not have my number... ok... I then ask that they take my sisters number off the account entirely. He had no explanation or apology for the cancelation. He also did not care that they had already canceled on me several times before without informing me. Later the same day my sister received another phone call to confirm delivery for tomorrow 10/4. No idea why they are still calling her number. They had no problem taking my money but have no idea how to deliver the items sold. So now I am hoping with little to no faith that they will come tomorrow with the rest of our delivery. Even if they do deliver tomorrow I will have taken a total of 6 days off of work, which the reimbursement of $300 for the delivery fee and delivering the wrong item come no where close to covering. Not to mention the infuriating headache of several canceled appointments I was never informed of and customer service reps who have no idea how to care for customers. I have no idea how customers with strict Monday through Friday 9-5 jobs ever receive their furniture. My sister and I have shared our horrible experience with friends and family only to find out they have had similar experiences with Ashleys. This is common practice for them. My boyfriend and I went in the Ashley store yesterday. We had a great experience with the sales lady Heidi L. She was Extremely! helpful made some suggestions and let us look without nagging or following us around . She did come back and check on us to see if we had questions and Gave us her name. Do not buy Ashley furniture!!!!!. The Tacoma store people are very nice but they cannot stand behind the product. Customer service is based out of Texas and they are rude and do not care about pleasing the customer. My table leaf was damaged, I did not open up the leaf until the delivery person left. Warning...inspect your furniture before the delivery person leaves!! If it is damaged...do not accept it. Ashley furniture offered to fix the damaged leaf but not replace it. No discount offered either. I argued and they finally agreed to replace the table but not really!! A delivery date was set up, they came to pick up the table with no replacement. I refused since they had no replacement, they set up another false delivery date which was today. They canceled the transaction stating it was complete. Stay away from this place...The absolute worst customer service you can imagine. We were on hold for two hours attempting to find out when our furniture was going to be delivered. Were told four different dates, took time off work to be home and then only a portion of our order was delivered. Some of our pieces were broken and dented. Then they said we could not return it and on the phone for many more hours. I recently purchased a sofa from the Tacoma Store, the sales repersentive was great she spent the time with me and gave me fantasic service. When it came to the sofa being deliveried, the sofa was damaged appeared to be a floor model or damaged in the warehouse, either way the delivery team was really considerate and had me look at it proir to them bring the sofa in. They noticed that it was wraped differantly than most of the sofa's they deliver. I rejected the sofa and was told that I would get a call with another deliver date. I was not offered any compenstation or incentive for my troubles. When I called customer care there was a nothing we can do attitude with the first rep I spoke with when I asked to speak with a Supervisor or Manager the phone either disconnected or the rep hung up on me. When I called back the new rep was more helpful, and offered me 1/2 of my delivery fee back?? Also let me know that there was no note in the account that I had called a few minutes earlier leading me to believe I was hung up on. Because Ashley is a large company I would think that there would be a quality check of the merchandise prior to it being loaded in to the delivery truck. I understand however that things get over looked therefore when this happens there should be some protocal that is followed to compensate the customer. Without customers there is no business and no customer care rep wtih jobs. just a thought. read more

Make sure your sales person understands the delivery policy. I paid more than half in cash and told them I would come back the next day to pay the rest(Bed time for kids). I was told that my mattress qualified for next day delivery, but when I paid the remainder a couple days later that had apparently changed or was not valid to begin with. I paid it off in cash and as she was writing the receipt she was also checking when she could deliver. She realized that it would not be before the weekend and after I had signed the receipt told me that deliver would not be until after the weekend(because of the whole qualifying for next day delivery thing). I then asked for the refund of the delivery charge since I was able to go pick it up. Apparently cash only travels one way over the counter. I could see my $400 over the counter but they hesitated refunding my money over some apparent policy. The delivery charge I was told was $57 dollars and it turned out I got $75 back in the refund(honestly this can be attributed to a slightly dyslexic salesperson). Overall the experience was just like any other high pressure sales environment that I have ever encountered. I would window shop around for a while before I went back to ashley. read more

I will never step foot in this store again as long as I live!!! I bought a sleigh bed frame on Black Friday....... and my most recent possible pick up date is January 3rd!!! Did they bother to advertise or mention when you are paying for your merchandise that they do not have the product in stock? NO!!!!!! And if you get upset about the delay you will experience in receiving what you paid for, you will be told that you hardly paid anything for your merchandise anyways and there is nothing they can or will do for you about it...... Eventually I was offered a $25.00 rewards card that I can use in store. In case you have never been in their store, $25.00 will get you NOTHING! My experience with Ashley furniture was great.Our sale person was dedicated to us as his customers. He listened to detail of what we wanted and sent us pictures of tables and chairs that were a fit to the description of what we wanted . We made the deal happen while he was in Washington and we were in Texas. Yes we received the order in Texas. That is what I call prime customer service and he called us to ask if we were satisfied with the furniture we had received within a day of delivery. Yes I would refer customers to Ashley furniture because they go above and beyond to serve their customers. Thanks to our sale person Ricardo Malloy for a great experience. read more

I went into the Ashley Furniture store on 38th street in Tacoma wa to buy my granddaughter a new bed, and was totally ignored!! We walked around up stairs for almost an hour (With sales people all over just looking at us) My granddaughter picked out the bed she wanted, and her and her brother played on it for a few minutes while I waited for someone to come help us....... Needless to say we left empty handed and bought a bed down the street.... read more

I wish there was a no star for this store. We bought furniture in May and still have yet to receive it. We did receive one delivery and that delivery had lamps. The delivery men were in such a hurry they didn't inbox them. We I boxed them and there was no stems to the lamps they are useless. We reported to the store and the manager Heather and we have yet to receive replacements. The delivery was made in June so here we sit in July with useless lamps. I called customer care and they stated there was no report of the lamps needing replacing. The lamps have also been reported to salesperson Melissa and yet no lamps. DONOT shop here they are horrible. read more
