Ashley's( Orange CT ) Ms. J ( Manager) was about the only pro to come out of my experience with Ashley's furniture. She was helpful and gave great feedback, never pushy. After reading the other reviews I was lucky to get that. Delivery however is a joke. They have no called no showed me twice and my sofa is most likely still in China in the back of a wear house. 4 weeks now and no sofa, i was told they had a glitch in the system, still nothing. We made another date, of course no call no show. If my payment was contingent on delivery i am sure this sectional would have arrived weeks ago. They have their money, now they drag their feet. If you want your furniture within 6 months, shop elsewhere. Ashley's got 1 star as 0 is not an option. read more

Newington Store: Very unpleasant experience, this app requires that, at least, you must rate it a minimum of 1 star; I would rate it negative if I could. Arrived; a female saleperson greeted me and asked if I needed assistance etc. I replied "just looking". Had to repeat myself 2 additional times as she continued with more questions.... Finally broke away and started wandering/looking... She comes up to me AGAIN! All of this within a total of only 12 minutes! Needless to say; I complained to the manager and left. Absolutely horrible customer service. We spent over $4000 in one sitting at this store, had everything delivered, and when the delivery men put together our king-sized platform bed, they apparently decided they wanted to ignore the instructions that came with it and rigged it together in such a way that was actually dangerous for us to sleep on and we didn't even know until we needed to switch out the mattress. My fiancé had to completely redo the lower portion of the platform bed. And all of this when we had tipped the delivery guys, thinking that they had done a good job. Then, the mattress didn't work out for us so we wanted to return it just 3 days after receiving it and offered to buy a mattress twice the price of the original one in order to avoid the $125 restocking fee that they were requiring. The manager of the store named Jonathan talked to me not once but twice on the phone, both times telling me he needed to talk to someone above him in order to make that decision and he would get back with me. Both times he did not return my call and I was forced to have to contact him again. Finally, we just let them come pick up the mattress and we bought one from a competitor. Four weeks later and we realize they actually never refunded us for the mattress. So they came and picked it up, but didn't give us our money back. My fiancé had to go to the actual store and ask for the manager's boss, named Bill. We got a halfhearted apology, a refund finally on our credit card, but they made sure to go ahead and charge us the restocking fee and the pick-up fee. So even after they screwed up, they still wouldn't do anything to make it right for us even though we spent so much money at their store. They did nothing to ensure that we would be future customers. a minute ago This was the worst experience I have had with a company. I ordered my dining room set 2 months in advance as a new home owner I was very excited for this purchase. When it came to the date of delivery everything was wrong. I know mistakes can happen however the table was in horrible shape black marks all over, 2 of the chairs were missing and also they were not what I had ordered, I had to send it back. Garbage and screws were left in my yard. The delivery team told me the warehouse screws up all the time. The customer service to handle this situation was horrendous and anything but professional. Nobody reached out to me or updated me on my order. I was promised after it would be here in a week and then when I had to call to follow up they told me it was on back order for another 2 weeks. Mind you they already had my money for 2 months. I kept getting promises of phones calls and updates with nothing but getting hung up on by their team and left with no awnsers until I decided to have them finally just refund me. A huge let down. This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a store. Keep in mind We spent a total of 10,000 dollars in the store in the last year. The first time we bought furniture the table was missing bolts and shook every time we used it. We emailed the customer support team and heard nothing back at all. All we wanted was the right bolts to fix it. We went to the store to get some assistance and ran into Sami. Sami apparently owns or runs both the newington store but the Manchester one as well. He ordered the bolts and assisted us in buying our bedroom furniture. We spent more than we wanted but were happy. Sami asked that we give him a good review. We told him we would if we had a great experience. After a few weeks our furniture was ready or so we thought. 4 times they called to confirm everything was in. Saturday morning they called saying they didn't have everything and missing our rails. They tried to make us feel guilty because they were searching for it. They wanted to push back our delivery but convinced them to set up the majority of our furniture items. My wife was told that they would have a manager call us about the order. To make things worse we spoke to a rep who did say they had everything there and didn't understand why they couldn't deliver everything. We never heard back from them and had to call them several times to see if our remaining order would be delivered that Saturday. Finally someone said they would be there. Saturday morning they called at 730 am to say they couldn't come and didn't have the parts. We went down to the store and informed the staff how upset we were. We had wasted two Saturdays already waiting for our bed. We spoke with Sami finally and he said he couldn't give us anymore than the delivery fee and our insurance money we paid to cover the furniture. All of which never came out of their bottom line. We told them that we had back to back bad experiences after spending ten grand there. Sami made it seem that Ashley only gives out 250 dollar gift cards for bad experiences. Sami didn't agree that our three Saturdays in a row waiting for our order was only worth a few hundred dollars. As a former retail manager I was able to write off over 1000 dollars to make situations right. I told them that no one apologized or even bothered to make it right. I also said this was his store and he personally assured us that we would have a great experience when we went there. It's clear that his employees do not agree with how he handles situations with customers based on their reactions to his solution. You would think after how upset we were, driving down to speak with the owner and calling corporate that they would move mountains to make sure this Saturday (third weekend) that we would be delivered first thing...we got it late and at 800pm at night. I was so damn upset. This store and Ashley only care about your money and not life long relationships. We really loved the furniture but will never support this store or recommend it to anyone. I ordered my a bedroom set for my son 4 weeks ago. They waited till the day before delivery (week 3) to tell me that there is something wrong with the headboard. And to see if I wanted it they would deliver it. Upon delivery it looked like a chunk was carved out of it so no I didn't want it. But I told them to leave the dresser and bedside table. As they put the dresser down. I opened the first drawer and the top literally wobbled off. Like came off!!! So I told the delivery team to take the entire thing out of my house. To this day no one has called me to let me know when I would get my furniture!! I don't ever want to do business with these people ever again. I don't trust them. I should have just gone to a thrift store and purchased my son's furniture and call it a day. Cause that's what the quality of it was. I am BEYONNNDDDD PISSED OFF right now. So yeah 0 star if I could. Here is an update!!! Today is 11/22/16. Yesterday I got a phone call about delivery of my son's furniture. Now after I spent last Wednesday talking to this man at the warehouse and telling him that I'm a nurse and work 3pm-11pm he said he would note it and have them deliver to my house this Tuesday (today) by 2pm. I get a phone call from Ashley furniture store stating that my delivery window is between 3-6!! Needless to say I was pissed. I called the store in newington ct and spoke with a "Lisa" I guess she didn't like that I was pissed so she hung up the phone on my face.... I went to the Ashley Store in Newington CT. Bought my furniture there. A few weeks later I looked on line to see the pieces I bought and saw every piece I bought was on sale. I asked for a refund of the difference and was told sorry you financed your furniture so no matching the sale price. I paid $110 for a carpet that was $100 on line but was on sale for around $48. when I figured out the difference between what I bought and the sale prices it at least $600 plus in the difference. One of the pieces I bought was damaged so they couldn't deliver it. I was told I would have the piece in a week. If I could give this company negative stars, I would. Our experience has been a complete nightmare. I am appalled at the lack of communication, horrific customer service and poor quality products of Ashley Furniture. We purchased a sectional in February. I did not notice when it arrived but the two pieces did not align and one piece was crooked. I contacted the store immediately and a technician came out in MARCH (we had to wait weeks to be serviced) and determined (when he flipped over the couch and took it apart) that it was broken. It is evident that it is broken because it does not align properly but he confirmed with evidence that we were indeed delivered a broken couch. He came out on a Saturday and said I would hear from corporate office about receiving a new part of the sectional on Monday. I didn't hear one word. I sent countless e-mails to try to resolve the issue only to land back at the local store. The representative referred me to Arlene who said the person in corporate office resigned and they lost all of her notes. She stated that the sectional would need to be re-evaluated and promised a technician out the following week (we scheduled one for that coming Tuesday) and NO ONE showed up. Another set of countless e-mails and phone calls and we finally had a technician come out a SECOND time only to come to the SAME conclusion-the couch is broken and needs to be replaced. The section needs to be replaced not parts. The technician himself specifically said that to us. Countless e-mails and phone calls continued as I've been circulated through so many people-including the vice president who hasn't had the audacity to contact me back or fix the issue. We still have a broken couch in our living room with NO resolution! Cheap, cheap furniture. So inexpensive they're practically giving it away. Check their online prices and haggle with the salesmen, even when you think the price can't possibly go any lower it CAN. They have a lot of similar items to R&F across the street but for half the cost. Shipping isn't free though, you'll pay $70 for the privilege of waiting 2 weeks with no updates. So I guess if you're in a hurry this would not be the right place to shop. I can't speak much to the quality as we've only had our stuff for about a month, but for the price we could easily afford to replace it! read more

My wife and I were window shopping for bedroom furniture, more research than buying right away, taking prices and measurements. Of the 5 stores we visited, Ashley's and another store had the best experience as far as Sales People. We were greeted by Michael Register, and the way and manner he showed us the bedroom sets was made for a delightful experience. He never pushed us one way or another, and listened to what we were looking for. We let or guard down and relaxed within a few minutes of meeting him. They way the store is set up, its best to have a sales person show you around, because its broken up by style, so the bedroom sets were located in different parts of the store. The Floor Manger met us a few times, and we were comfortable with him also. Long story short, we found a set we liked, worked a deal. We shook hands with the Owner of the store, and he was very kind also. This is part1 of the story, part2 will be the delivery, and part3 will be how it wears, but point in time, my Wife and I are very pleased, and no buyers remorse. Thanks much, Glen L. Oct 2018: Updating this review and removing a few stars. Initially things went great when I made my purchase from Ashley Furniture HomeStore but things have gone downhill. They are helpful when they are taking your money but after that.. Don't expect much. I ordered a couch from Patti on 9/3/18. I paid a little over $1200 which included a furniture protection plan & delivery. I paid in full at the time of the purchase. Then I noticed online that the same sectional was on sale for $799. So I called and left a message for Patti and I was refunded the difference. So not bad... But why was I not given the sale price in the 1st place? I was annoyed that I had to call to get the sales price but whatever... Now it's time for my couch to be delivered. This is where things really go south. I was originally worried because I ordered my couch before I was moving into my new place and I thought it would arrive too soon. Boy was I wrong! I ordered the couch on 9/3 and I was told it would be in 10/2. I was moving in on 9/23 so that wouldn't be too bad... But then I got a call that the couch would be delayed until 10/9. So 10/9 comes and goes and no call to schedule delivery. So I called on 10/10 and was told that the couch is now pushed back to 10/16. So this is the THIRD time they are pushing back the delivery date. I am pretty disappointed at this point since Patti seems powerless to expedite my order. I was told the couch is in a warehouse in PA somewhere but hasn't made it to their warehouse in CT yet. I've been waiting over a month for my couch to be delivered at this point. I have company coming this weekend and we will be sitting on folding chairs. Awesome. I'll try to remember to update this review on 10/16, if the couch really does actually make it to CT from PA this time around... 10/18 update. My couch DID make it from PA to CT and delivery is scheduled for Saturday, 10/20. If delivery goes well and they arrive within the 3 hour delivery window (as promised), I will update this review again to add back a couple of stars. Stay tuned! 10/23 update. My couch was delivered! I have read other reviews that said the delivery guys were "rough" but mine were pretty nice. They kind of shoved the couch in the front door but honestly, I don't see how else they could have gotten it in. My door is the standard 32" wide but the couch was wrapped and had cardboard on some parts so the fit through the doorway was pretty snug. They took away all their garbage and then they call customer service while you're standing there to verify that they delivered and then you speak with customer service to let them know all is OK. It wasn't a bad experience. So now my only complaint is that the couch was delayed 3 times but otherwise, I am satisfied. My original review is below. It's been updated a couple of times as you tell... I'm leaving this review about the shopping / buying process for my new furniture. I have not yet received delivery of my furniture so I cannot rate that, but in the meantime, I can say that the shopping/buying experience at Ashley Furniture HomeStore was wonderful. I was greeted by Patti upon entering the store and I had a specific sectional in mind. She led me right to it and showed me a couple other small sectionals that might work for my small space. I told her I wanted to think it over and price compare with neighboring furniture stores and she totally understood. After thinking it over, I went back the next day and made my purchase from Patti. She was very nice and even let me know that the cost of my furniture plus fabric protection was going to be less than she originally quoted me! A few days later, I saw the same sectional listed online for even less again... I called Patti and she took care of it right away refunding me the difference! This is my first Yelp review because I believe that most businesses have the customers' best intentions and we all have 'bad days'. However, I am doing this as a service to all out there. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE!!! Don't get me wrong, the store is beautiful. The furniture is beautiful. But I feel like it's just a facade. The first warning sign was the gentleman selling us our mattress and bed did not know how to use the computer. He blamed his inadequate typing. OK, sure. So he passed us off to a female associate. It took her 30-minutes to input our order. Then the sales process came. We purchased everything in full. We felt like we were being watched and they were waiting for our card to be declined. Yes, my husband and I were dressed down, in sweatpants and sweatshirts, but it's a pandemic for God sakes and we like to shop comfortably. We dropped $3000+ on our furniture. We loved the furniture so much we wanted to come back for a table, but much of their product was on backorder. Again, we understand it's a pandemic, product is scarce. Sure, we can wait. We are called and told the mattress is ready but the bed is not. Do we want the mattress? Sure we will take the mattress. We were told the bed may take 4-6 weeks. My husband calls 2-weeks ago just to see if by any chance the bed is ready. He is told in the morning that the bed is not ready and may take a few more weeks. Ok, we will wait. Then out of the blue my husband receives a call a few hours later. What do you know the bed is ready?!? The entire bed my husband asks because we were told in the morning only part of the bed was available. No, the entire is bed is ready. Ok, we must have been misinformed earlier but this is great news. So we schedule delivery. The man who delivers the bed says he will set-up the bed if he is "taken care of". My husband tells him thanks but no thanks, my wife is working from home and we cannot accommodate but thanks for the offer. The man shows my husband the invoice, which has all of the necessary parts on the invoice. He is told to sign confirming receipt of the items, which he does. I end of coming down with Covid, so we are unable to put the bed together right away. A few days later I muster up the strength to try and assemble this bed. We threw away our old bed. We threw everything outside. Then my husband says from the other room, "Honey, we have a problem". Well look at that, we have part of the bed, but the rest of the bed is missing! We again look at the invoice which says all parts were delivered; however, apparently there should have been 2 boxes? We call the store. The female receptionist takes zero responsibility and directs us to the warehouse which does not open until the following Tuesday. OK, great...well now we are sleeping on a mattress, on the floor. My husband calls speaks with a lovely woman who confirmed the store's mistake. So apparently the "entire bed" was not available when we were called to schedule delivery. The other part had to be reordered and they were awaiting delivery which may take a few more weeks. We then get a call a day or so later. What do you know, the rest of the bed is suddenly available. They want to schedule delivery, so we schedule for the following week since we will be spending New Years with family. On New Years morning, my husband and I are sleeping after a long night of celebrating. A man says he is standing in front of our house ready for pick-up. We are not home and we did not schedule anything? He grows aggravated, said we confirmed pick-up and would need to call the store. My husband and I are half asleep, we get another call from the store. Again, the woman is insisting we confirmed a "pick-up". We tell her a man says he is in front of our house for a pick-up and our "delivery" is not scheduled until later in the week. She agrees to research further. I look at my husband's phone and notice that he received a text earlier that morning addressed to a woman that is not me, for an address that is not ours, confirming they are there for a pick-up that was not ordered by us. I called the woman back and explain the text. She did not seem concerned and just responded with "Ohhh, I see the problem...". Apparently our phone number was added to another woman's account. At this point I just wanted to make sure that this other woman gets her pick-up. I asked that the representative confirm this is the case, remove our number and information from her account and call us back to confirm. Finally today we were delivered the missing part. No text confirming delivery and the man just dropped the box on our front porch! He said this was per company instructions. Never again. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!! read more

Our salesperson was so nice and reassured us that our sofas would be delivered within a couple of weeks. We were initially so happy with our purchase. Then we got an email indicating our sofas wouldn't be delivered to the warehouse for a full 4 weeks from our purchase date, then would need to be delivered to us after that. We called after we got the email and spoke to our salesperson directly and she reassured us she would look into it and call us back. Less than 15 minutes later a different customer service person called back and said "the system says it's delayed but I can't tell why." What happened to looking into it and calling us back? The representative who called us back clearly didn't look into it! I have no confidence they are going to resolve our problem. We should not have taken the salesperson's word. We could have ordered the same sofa online and gotten it in 2 weeks! Based on the rest of these reviews, now I'm worried about whether we will get our order at all. Super disappointed. read more

Buyer BEWARE!!! First buying experience at Ashley HomeStore, Newington CT has been unacceptable, miserable & totally inexplicably awful. My husband & I purchased a Serta Mattress & floor model retractable bed frame to the tune of $2,400. Delivered on time by competitors delivery people, miscommunication from them to take old mattress & box spring away. After 3 phone calls, okay to take away. Retractable bedframe arrived soiled, vacuumed before delivery people brought up new mattress. Mattress came wrapped in plastic, after plastic was removed there were snags all across side of mattress. I took pictures, and was shaking I was so upset. After having time to calm down I went into the store & talked with manager & sale person to voice my displeasure. They assured me it would be rectified, nope that didn't happen. I called their Customer Care people, sent them an email with my pictures of the damaged purchases. Still haven't heard back!!!!!! We are now being told the delivery date will be sometime next week which would be 6 wks and if we could t do the date they had available they would be charging us extra. So disappointed on Stan's reaction he gave when we stated we just wanted to check 2 more places to make sure we were doing our do diligence on pricing. He didn't even let me finish my sentence before reacting as if he didn't care about our business. Telling us you won't guarantee prices and stating some non sense about it before storming off like a Child. His exact words "I will not spend anymore time with you guys." Even though I like the furniture I'm now second guessing my purchase that I want to make and if I make it I'll be visiting the Manchester location or order ONLINE (WHICH GIVES THE SAME PRICES THAT WERE STATED AS DISCOUNTS) because I'm just disgusted by the lack of professionalism. Words would not be enough to describe how disappointing my experience was with this store. We just bought a new house and in need of living room and dining room furnitures. Lisa assisted us in picking out the pieces we wanted, which went on very smoothly with no issues. We were at the store for almost 4hours but we did not mind the time because we want to make sure we have everything covered. Issues started coming when I received a phone call from Lisa that the bench for our dining room set was back ordered and will not be delivered on time with the other furnitures. I decided to have a split delivery (to have everything delivered at my house except the bench which I agreed to pick up myself at the warehouse to avoid additional delivery fee). I made it clear to Lisa that I need all the furnitures delivered before August 5th because I will have guests over and she said it is scheduled for August 2nd and she did double check that everything will be in stock. Here comes August 2nd & I did not receive any updates nor call regarding my delivery time schedule. I called the store and the lady who answered said that my items are in the warehouse except the bench so they are waiting for everything to be available before they deliver. I clarified that I talked to Lisa and told her that I will not wait for the bench & I need all the furnitures delivered as soon as possible. I asked if I can talk to Lisa but she didn't pick up. Her manager, Melissa did. Melissa told me that she will put me for August 4th delivery because August 3rd is already full (which should have been scheduled earlier if the error was not made). August 4th comes and my furnitures are here (and so I thought). My living room set came it with no issues. But my dining room set only came in with two mismatch chairs. The pair for the two styles are missing and not placed for delivery. I spoke to Amber at the warehouse and she was nice enough to see what went wrong. She told me that Lisa only put 1 for each chair style for delivery but I paid for 2 chairs each. So now, I have to wait until Tuesday for the other two chairs to be delivered. I will have guests over tomorrow for dinner and my dining room is a mess... a table with two mismatch chairs. What an inconvenience and a headache! read more

The store is beautiful! Can't believe it used to be a bowling alley. The staff is so attentive but not too pushy. The furniture lines seem to have gotten a major update! I was really impressed with Lisa. We bought a bed and mattress and got it within a few days because everything is in stock. She worked hard to get me approved for enough credit to buy what we needed. Super sweet and personable. We definitely plan on returning to get everything else we need soon! Highly recommend if you hate furniture shopping and just like to get in and get out, this is the place! They make it very easy! read more

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE & HANDLING. We stopped by Ashley's Furniture on a Saturday afternoon to look for a couch. We really liked the store's selection and was able to find a couch that day. However, our interaction with the sales rep Fabiana and the front desk lady ruined our shopping experience. Our greeting with Fabiana was friendly and she was able to price match with the lower price online. However, as we decided to move forward with our purchase and asked some questions she gave us attitude and patronized us. Then as we were checking out at the front desk, the girl was just unnecessarily sarcastic during the whole interaction. In addition, we were told (by Fabiana & the front desk) that they would be able to deliver the couch on the specific date we requested. About 2-3 days before our delivery date, they called us saying the couch was going to be a day late. This caused quite a bit of inconvenience for us. THEN when the couch was delivered, there was a broken part. SO we had to wait another 2 more weeks for a replacement to arrive to the warehouse and to be once again delivered to our apartment. In all, Ashley furniture's poor customer service and handling will be the reason we will not shop at again and will be sure to let others know about their poor service. read more

I read all the bad reviews on here about this store after I purchased a 2 piece sectional and ottoman from Ashley Homestore. After reading them I got really worried that all of the same stuff would happen to me, however I'm happy to say that wasn't the case. The salesperson who helped me (he went by the name 'Q') was very nice and helpful and not pushy at all. When I asked how long delivery would take I was told 2 weeks-yes this was a long time to wait but I was told up front in the store about it. I was also told to call the next day to see when my items would be ready for delivery. I called the next day and was told that the couch would be in the next week and the ottoman the week after and then I would be contacted with a delivery date. Right on schedule I was called about a week and a half later and set up my delivery date for the following week. I received a confirmation call and text message a couple of days before delivery with a 3 hour time slot, and also received a call when the delivery people were a half hour away. Everything arrived during the designated time slot. I took the time to look everything over and it was all in good condition. The delivery guy also called who I think was his manager right before leaving, so he could check with me to make sure everything was OK with the furniture and that I was satisfied. I took off one star because 2 weeks was a long time to wait, but all in all I had a positive experience here. I worked for 4 years at Ashley's warehouse. The way they run the warehouse is like a dump. They give customer's furniture that come back from other customers. The warehouse is mice infected were dead mice were found inside the furniture boxes delivered. The warehouse has a huge turn over rate with manager's who all avoid customer issues. Owner is not concerned about customer's or employee's, his concerns are the tons of money he is getting from the hard working families. Warning watch the furniture you get delivered. This was our worst experience in our furniture shopping life. Salesman was over his head for our sale too big to handle. Living room set $1,000 and my kid bedroom set was $1,400. Roughly$2,700 plus tax. Salesman messed up the item number and ordered the wrong color sectional. When we called to correct the problem he blew us off. Took me several days to finally get in touch with the director of operations Bob. Bob started off good and fell into the same unprofessional and non reachable person. Company is very unprofessional and not customer service oriented. Save your time and money by not wasting your breath on fixing their customer service issue. Do not recommend. read more

AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO END UP IN COURT. I have never written a bad review about any purchase. Ever. This store (specifically the company they use to deliver the furniture) made every mistake possible within a sale. My furniture was scheduled for delivery on a specific date. It never came. I called- they apologized- said they would refund delivery cost as I had taken the day off from work which cost me additional money- refund never came. Rescheduled delivery date- they showed up two hours before delivery time. I was forced to ask someone else to let them in- while "delivering" my couch they broke my front door and ripped a shingle off my house. They said they would fix it (only the door- they would not claim responsibility for the shingle). While assembling the furniture- they were verbally aggressive toward the 70 yr old woman who let them in - to the point where she did not feel safe in the house.. needless to say (despite repeated attempts to contact the company) neither my door or house has been fixed. Now we're headed to court to resolve this. Bottom line- unless you want to end up in court- avoid Ashley furniture. If you don't- ensure you have multiple people present upon delivery and do not leave a female alone with them. And take photos of what your house looked like before they came. read more

My fiancé and I were furniture shopping a couple of weeks ago and stopped by Ashleys Furniture in Newington. The entire experience was horrible from the salesperson to the finance woman at the desk to the store manager. After we had chosen a couch, we were given two options, purchase the couch outright or finance. The salesman told us that if we paid the couch off in 3 months, there would be no interest on the loan. We chose to finance and the company that they use is Progressive. Upon receiving the contract from Progressive, we had several questions regarding the wording of what we would be signing. The way we understood the contract, was that you can in fact pay off the loan in 3 months but it will cost you. Not only do you have to pay about $50 more than what you actually owe, in addition to the $50 application fee for a service that "everyone is qualified for" and a early payout fee of roughly $700. Totaling more than what financing it over the period of time would have cost, and more than double the actual cost of the furniture. We questioned the woman at the desk about this and she stared blankly at the paper and said "I'm not really sure what that means but I'm pretty sure you don't have to pay a buyout fee." I asked for someone else who knew more about this finance company and loan and her response was "No one here knows anything about it." At this point my fiancé and I were enraged. We asked multiple times to speak with someone who could reassure us and answer our questions and she just kept saying things like "I would assume this would mean..." or "I'm not really sure but I think..." After about 5 minutes of this, the manager walked over to the desk for something unrelated and one of the other members who overheard this moron talking to us asked the manager about the loan. He reassured us that we were in fact misunderstanding the contract and yes the 3 month buy out cost was $50 more than what we owed and yes it didn't include the bogus $50 application fee (because how else would Progressive make money, which I completely understood). At this point I was beyond frustrated and inquired as to why no one knew anything about this loan and couldn't confidently answer our questions and also told that there was NO ONE there that could help us. At that point, the manager gathered the employees and had a fake staff meeting to explain to them about wording of the loan which they all looked dazed and confused. At this point we had enough of this place and chose to cancel the entire order. We were then informed that it would take 10 days for the significant down payment we put down on the debit card would be refunded. My fiancé and I sat down for minute, called Progressive and ended up purchasing the couch, which we were told was in stock. We scheduled a delivery date, I took vacation time and the day off from work for this only to find out that it in fact wasn't in stock and we had to reschedule for another day. Now to the furniture arrival. The men got the couches in the house, in packages, but couldn't get it down the stairs to the basement. They told me I could call the warehouse to see what my options were and before I even got off the phone with the warehouse, they have reloaded it onto the van. They made no attempt to remove it from its packaging to see if it would fit that way. Now I am told that if I want to try again that I would have to reschedule the delivery because it was already back on the van that I never agreed to in the first place. So now my fiancé and I go back to Ashleys in an attempt to find another couch, as now we are informed that we have to pay a $200 restocking fee for them to put the unpackaged couch back in the Warehouse or we could pick out another couch and pay $70 for shipping. So do we throw away $200 and have no couch or select another one that fits. We really didn't have a choice at that time. So we selected another couch for the house and went to the finance table to set up payments. This time, we deal with another woman, as the clueless one before her, who was a new employee for about 2 weeks was promoted to some sort of management position. This woman was extremely helpful. While discussing the finance options again, she mentioned layaway. Which we were never offered in the first place. We asked why we weren't offered this, and the salesman who sold us the couch initially chimes in with "people don't like waiting for their furniture while doing layaway so we don't mention it. Mind you, we had already had furniture in the basement, we were just looking to upgrade and were not really in any rush to get new furniture in there. We would have gladly taken a layaway option and saved some money doing so. Literally the worst. Ordered a couch on August 13th, was told that I would be called about scheduling delivery around the 15th. I didn't get a call, so I called them on the 18th (turns out they had the wrong area code for me written in their records). Apparently they only deliver to my town on Thursdays and Saturdays so I scheduled the delivery for the 26th between 1:30 and 4:30. On the 26th they called and said the truck broke down; I still wanted the couch delivered that day so they said they could come around 5:45 pm. I left a family event to be back in time for the delivery, but they NEVER SHOWED. I finally called the store at 7 pm that night and the girl claimed that the truck had showed up at 5:35 and I wasn't home (which was not true, I was home by 5:15). You would think that the delivery guy would have called me since he had my cell number from talking to me earlier in the day, but apparently they are too lazy to even do that. Called the store the next day to complain, they said that they had a picture of my house to prove that I wasn't home. Turns out that it was not my house at all. I don't know whose house it was, but it certainly wasn't mine. The next time that worked for delivery with their schedule and my work schedule was September 8th. At this point, I was frustrated and expected some kind of compensation since they royally screwed up the first delivery. The customer service manager offered me $50 which doesn't even cover the delivery fee of $98. Why should I have to pay any delivery fee at all when they were the ones who didn't deliver it on time at the right address initially? I asked to speak to the store manager and left my name and number on MULTIPLE occasions without hearing back. Finally I spent an hour on my day off just to drive out to Newington with the hope of talking to a manager in person since they couldn't seem to call me back. Surprise surprise, the managers weren't even in the store. I wanted a full refund at this point since it was taking about a month to even potentially get this couch and I had to suffer through multiple irritating interactions with the staff trying to figure everything out. In the contract, there is a 20% restocking fee if you cancel an order once the furniture has reached the warehouse; I did not think it was acceptable for them to try to charge me this fee after all of the issues I had with them. I had to argue with the girl at the front desk as she told me that I signed the contract and so I had to pay the 20%. Finally I spoke to a manager on the phone at the warehouse and he agreed to give me a full refund. So after a month of aggravation, I still don't have a couch but at least I have all of my money back. TL; DR: This place is THE WORST. No showed for delivery, tried to charge me full price when they screwed up, terrible customer service and a non-responsive manager. read more

So, picture in your head the ways that furniture shopping could go wrong. Our experience at Ashley Homestore was that and worse, by far. I don't know what world one can live in where it takes 5 months to get a couch and pillows delivered completely and without damage. Clearly that's the world of Ashley Homestore. My boyfriend and I are pretty easy going people, but this experience was outrageous and tested our patience. We felt like we were being punked! Not only did we have to deal with arrogant sales people in the beginning, but clearly it was incompetence as well. Our salesman was overly confident and arrogant and ended up ordering the wrong couch, but we didn't know this until the day it was supposed to be delivered. My boyfriend took a day off from work for the delivery since they won't schedule a time that works for the customer. They have you pick a day for delivery, but they won't tell you a window of time until the day before, forcing you to take the day off of work. We spoke with Jeff, the manager, on the phone about the mixup, and he was not helpful at all. He was unprofessional and rude and wasn't willing to go out of his way to help. Long story short, we had a date set for the delivery of our actual couch and it was canceled and pushed back another two weeks. Once we got the couch, it was damaged. They ordered a new piece and that took over a month to come in. There's much more to the story, but the moral is, avoid Ashley Homestore in Newington, CT. I went to the Ashley Furniture store in Newington, CT on August 23rd. I left excited and ready for my furniture to be delivered in a timely fashion. The first delivery attempt was not successful because the love seat was damaged and I wanted the sofa and love seat at the same time. In turn, I had to wait another two weeks. On Saturday, September 17th the gentlemen attempted to deliver my furniture. The deliverymen told me that the door to my living room was too small and I would have to remove the paneling to the threshold and remove the door to my apartment. They then suggested I find furniture that comes separate and can be assembled on the premises. I called the store and asked what my options were. I arrived at the store and was treated horribly. I left feeling hoodwinked and bamboozled. The floor manager, Uda, did nothing to make me feel appreciated or validated. It was as if it didn't matter that I had waited almost a month for my furniture to arrive. It appeared that he only cared about maintaining the sale and squeezing even more money out of me. I eventually chose to cancel my order after the products he showed me were not to my liking, and I felt that all he wanted to do was make a bigger sale. He seemed annoyed and upset by my wanting to cancel the order (this was after he and the woman at the front desk did not know how to re-work the paperwork). By that time, I had already spent an hour in the store waiting for him to finish assisting other customers. I spent days waiting for this furniture and an hour driving to and from the store on both occasions. I was forced to pay the delivery and the restocking fees. I was not accommodated in any way for waiting almost a month for furniture that I am unable to enjoy. I feel as if I were robbed. I paid for services and things I never had the luxury of actually enjoying. I will not and cannot in good conscience ever patronize another Ashley Furniture store. I will do my best to ensure that none of my friends and loved ones ever patronize an Ashley as well. read more

I am very disappointed in how my situation was handled. I purchased a bed that I was told was on backorder because it was so popular and it would take 4-6 weeks to come in. That was at the end of January. I waited patiently and kept getting arrival dates that came and went. I was offered "free furniture" by "Bob", but he conveniently wasn't around when I tried to talk to him about his offer and didn't return my requests for follow up. After being told it was a manufacturing issue, that it was discontinued, being offered damaged bed asa loaner, I was almost ready to give up and return it. The final straw came when my salesperson called to apologize and said the owner "finally agreed to sale me the floor model." I never once asked for that nor wanted it. I think the most disappointing thing is that no manager called me back when they said, and when I said I wanted to return it today, the manager finally got on the phone. No apology, just a statement that he heard I wanted to speak to a manager. Since I was past the point of wanting to do business with them, I said I just want to return the items. His response was basically ok. I never got an apology for 3 months wasted nor any recommendations on alternative items. I am a loyal customer when I am treated well, but the way this situation was "resolved" solidified my decision to not purchase anything from Ashley Furniture in the future. If I could, I would rate this 0 stars. I purchased furniture on Oct 8, 2016. On the receipt and in the store I was told a maximum of 2 weeks for delivery. I called 3 weeks and was told to keep waiting, after two more calls (Ashley never called me to let me know there was a delay) I finally received most of my furniture the week before Thanksgiving (November 12th) since then I called the warehouse manager (whom for the sake of anonymity we'll call Ken). Ken gave me a direct line to call him specifically. He apologized, offered to take the delivery fee off and assured me that the rest of my furniture would be delivered in 2 weeks (after spending an hour lecturing me on a legal loophole that allows Ashley to dodge any sort of delivery time commitment). 2 months later when I started calling Ken directly on his cell number, I realized that he either gave me the wrong number or he was seeming to dodge my calls entirely. I called him twice to three times a week on this number and I was met with nothing, I would talk to the front desk of the Ashley furniture and they would patch me through to Ken. Finally when I called Ken out on dodging my calls to the front desk, they patched me through to him in the warehouse and he miraculously answered. I told him simple enough that I didn't want the furniture that hadn't been delivered since 10/8 and he said that "because most of my order was delivered on 11/22 and that I seemed to be happy then, if I canceled now, he would charge me an extra cancellation fee." I told him that I didn't think a cancellation fee was fair on my part being the consumer since I have now lived in my apartment for 4 months without the furniture that I anticipated receiving 3 1/2 months ago. He told me that he felt like I was playing games with him, gave me his cellphone number again (which was excellent because that verified that I had been calling the correct number all along) and hung up. I have never been treated so poorly in my life and it truly astounds me that these people find it reasonable to conduct business in this way. read more

My wife and I moved into our new home 2 weeks ago and have several rooms to fill with furniture. We loved the styles and quality of furniture at Ashley and we had a wonderful experience shopping there, choosing our living room furniture. We were told it would arrive around the 24/25 th of March. Today is April 10th and we finally received our furniture after many mess ups. They would keep telling us they have all the pieces and they were delivering on xyz date and time, my wife would take time off work to wait for them, then they would not show up or call and when we called, we were flippantly told "Oh, it's not in the truck, maybe the pieces haven't arrived yet, not sure what happened, you'll have to reschedule". This happened THREE TIMES!! We all make mistakes, it's understandable to occasionally slip up. But I have never experienced such flippant, rude, chaos as Ashley Warehouse delivery service. They were so quick to take our money but played us like ping pong balls for 4 MONTHS when we filed for a warranty replacement because of the DEFECTIVE mattress they delivered to us. Bought a sectional, chair, and table set from this store around Presidents Day. It was delivered over a month ago but we were given a call to let us know that the tables we ordered showed up broken at the warehouse and they would need to be delivered separately. We appreciated the call to let us know and would rather not have them broken when they showed up. However, we rescheduled our personal work schedules for the delivery and had to schedule another delivery for round 2. They scheduled the delivery again and the day before called to tell us that YET AGAIN the tables were smashed and we would not have them. Now here we are months later with no tables and have had plans for guests to be here and need to reschedule our personal schedules again. The service is ridiculous. Make sure that if you have a warehouse or truck bringing furniture from somewhere else that it is well protected maybe?! read more

Recently purchased a bedroom set from the Newington Store. Sale was great. Knowledgeable and very professional. All down hill after that. I had to call to find out when the furniture would be delivered. Received an appointment for Saturday between noon and three. Delivery showed up at 4:40. Were at our home until 6:30. Went to inspect and there were black marks all over our newly painted walls and a good size scratch on our new hardwoods floors. I was very upset. Luckily I was able to remove the black marks after washing all of the walls. (I have picture proof). The bed we purchased has front under the bed storage. One of the drawers is scrapping against the slats in the bed wearing the finish off. The other has a scratch inside which I didn't notice until I went to store something in it today. Chest and one night stand wobble so we had to fix that. Very disappointed and will not buy from them again. read more
