If I could give Ashley Furniture a negative number for a review I absolutely would. In December of 2021 my husband and I went to the Modesto, CA store and purchased a reclining couch and chair. Paid in full. Ask if there would be a problem getting them as the news was stating that cargo ships were not making deliveries. We were told it would be about 3 weeks which was acceptable. Over a period of four months the delivery date was continually extended. The only reason we accepted this was because I had searched for along time and really wanted this furniture. In April 2022 our delivery was scheduled. We moved out our old furniture for the expected delivery. When the delivery arrived there was only one piece of furniture and we were told that the other piece still was not available. Needless to say we were not happy and cancelled the order. Fast forward to current date, August 2022. We just moved and needed a small dinette set. I found one on-line that I liked so I thought I would give Ashley Furniture another try. What a mistake! I went to the Ashley Outlet in Lathrop on Sunday, August 21st. I was told that there were plenty in stock and could be delivered two days later. Told to call the following day to schedule my pick-up time. I called the following day and was told that they had the chairs but the table was back ordered until the end of September. I was livid! Went to the Outlet and cancelled the order that same day. Totally unacceptable that either I was lied to at two different locations or they don't have a good computer system. Either way I will never step into one of their stores again. I am not a negative person and can accept that things can go wrong but feel like I was deliberately lied to just to make a sale. I'd give you no stars if i could. How is it that you order an item in store but no information about a 72hr return policy is given. In this day and age a 15-30 days should be the proper amount of days to return or even exchange an item, but 72 HOURS!? How is that!? We didn't realize the we didn't want item in less than a week, we called and are told you can do nothing about it. Still wrapped and in perfect condition. I went to this Ashley Outlet in Lathrop CA, a Vietnamese guy name BRUCE approach me and I told him I'm looking for an ottoman with storage, he just let me walk around without saying anything, then a few minutes I step out to get something from my car. When came back in. Another mid-eastern guy look like an Indian approached me, all of the sudden this Vietnamese guy came in and ask me "did you forget about me?" he is not a nice guy because when I asked about a certain item and I told him it was over my budget, he replied right away "then look for a cheaper one" and he walked away. I would not recommend anyone to shop here. We bought a new bedroom set for our son and when it was delivered, there were flaws on every piece delivered. They also failed to let us know that we were not getting his lamps on the same delivery. They scheduled guys to come out on the following Saturday and they just touched up the furniture and it still looked bad. The third day we are staying home on a weekend to receive the lamps, I had to call them only to find out that they weren't delivering it. So 2 days wasted for nothing on a weekend. Bought a dinning set here, found the same set latter on the web site for cheaper and they lowered the price to the new sale price. One of the chairs was damaged and they sent me a new one and even offered to have the tech fix it. Then I bought a recliner and was happy with the service and again there was a sale on my item so they sold it to me at the new sale price. The only negative was that when I showed up to pick it up no one told me to check in first so I just stood there and the guys in the warehouse just ignored me. I wish I had done my research. The term slick oil salesmen comes to mind when I think of this company now. They are not transparent with their financial transactions. I was overcharged on set up fees among other things. I have been trying to reconcile the charges on my statements with my in store receipts for the past 3 hours but cannot for the life of me account for some of the charges nor figure out how some are calculated. I have an accounting and finance degree, so this is a HUGE red flag for me. If you choose to shop here anyway, I hope you do take time to look over and understand any charges made before signing, especially if you are planning on financing your purchase with them. Very disappointed, perturbed and frustrated with not only their lack of communication, but how they are not demonstrating concern over their customers experience!! I ordered my furniture on 5/25/20. I still do not have ANY furniture!!! I received a text on 7/7/20 to confirm my delivery for yesterday, 7/8/20. I also received two robo-dials after this. Concerned, I called the number to make sure I was scheduled for delivery. After repeated explaining to the rep I was told yes you are still on the schedule and number 13 on the list for deliveries on that day. I waited and waited and waited. NO DELIVERY came. NO PHONE CALL was made. I had to call today to hear some person tell me that one of my items is on back order!! It won't be available until 7/28/20. I have to wait until 7/30/20 for delivery now for all my items. I am now on their messaging app and have been since 6:35 AM this morning and I still waiting to speak to a rep about getting my other items!! I have requested to speak to a supervisor and was there is a 24-48 hour waiting period for call back. I am beyond livid!!! read more

Best advice I can offer is when you find a piece that you like, quickly google the item number on Ashley furniture's web site. Their salesman will attempt show you the sticker price and say they'll discount it lower. I discovered some of the items were the same as the listed online price, just inflated instore prices OR they would cut the price approx. 5% possibly more depending on the item. Overall we saved $8XX from buying it from the website. Their salesmen attempt to make it seem like your getting a great deal when in reality its an okay one. read more

I visited Ashley Outlet in Lathrop, and worked with a nice last named Paula who helped me w my purchase, when my items arrived, I was missing a piece for the end table. it takes an act of god to get some one to help over the phone and can rarely get a hold of a manager. I called multiple times and got someone named A Caampued to help and she said she would call me back. I never got a call back, I called back up there the next week spending 30 min on hold and got a hold of a manager named Jeff, who said he would order replacement parts and if he couldn't, he would make sure I get a new table. it's 3 weeks later, Jeff no longer responded to my emails so I brought the table up there and he lied to my face and said he never told me he would get me a new table stating "it won't work like that." I literally had to go to the store (coming from Sacramento) to get any help on my table. since they say they will help and don't call back or follow up. I even texted my sales lady Paula to ask for help but she ghosted me and once she got her commission, she no longer was involved in helping. I have to say the actual store manager (I don't know his name) was the only one who let me swap my table out with one on the floor to rectify my situation. Do not go to the Lathrop location, because they are only great at sales but not customer service! BEWARE OF THE SCAM ARTIST AT THIS LOCATION. I can not explain to you how huge of a disappointment this place has turned out to be. Highly disrespectful and no value to provide customer service. I had bought furniture from them and a delivery date was set. On the delivery day about half an hour before the close of the delivery window, I had my wife call the delivery department to confirm if they are coming. Upon inquiry we were told our delivery wasn't on the schedule. We had txt messages and voicemails prior to the delivery date which we confirmed to. When we asked what happened they made up a lame excuse stating that the box for txt and voice wasn't checked in. How is that possible if I received all the txt messages and phone calls? All they know is how to lie and gang up on you and try to over talk and over power you. I have cancelled the purchase and will surely never look at that store ever again. I placed an order for a bed frame and nightstand on 7/9/2020 and had to wait until yesterday to go and pick it up because of COVID they cannot offer home delivery. My husband was unboxing it today and come to find out one of the pieces is damaged. I called both the store and the customer service number and they told me that I have to wait until 9/5/2020 to have a technician come and access the damage. I asked for them to place an order for the part because I know it will need to be replaced but they refused saying that the technician will need to come over first. I then asked if I could return it and purchase it again since I would have to wait just as long and they told me that they take no returns after the furniture is picked up... so I asked to talk to a manager due to the lack of customer service at their store and how disappointed I was that I had waited so long only to receive a damaged bed frame and have to wait even longer. A manager still has not called back... can you you tell me if this could be repaired? I would hope they have people inspecting their furniture before they package it especially since customers have to wait sooooo long to receive their furniture. I also don't have X-ray vision to look through a packaged box before living the store to notice that it was damaged. VERY DISAPPOINTED. First time shopping here and probably the LAST! read more

My wife and I bought family room and living room sets. Last piece the coffee table was broken when I opened box. I understand this can happen but I have been calling the Ashley store NO answer Called Ashley customer service 10 times and sit on hold for an hour just to get sent to vm then chatted online with someone for one hour just for them to disconnect from conversation. Horrible customer service very disappointed This now is a 3 day process I guess I will need to drive 30 mins to store what a waste of time. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM ASHLEY HOME STORE!!! If I could give a zero star review I would. Save yourself the hassle! We ordered months ago from Ashley Furniture and went in multiple times, and paid in full for an entire bed set. We coordinated and ordered based on availability as we know there are a number of supply chain constraints in the current economy. On the day of delivery, the delivery driver came 20 mins earlier than the promised arrival time, and instead of waiting for me to get there (as I planned to be there at the deliver time), or even giving me the decency of a phone call, they left. When I called to inquire where the delivery driver is they said the driver left and my bed set and entire furniture was sold to another buyer. When I asked how that was possible given I paid in FULL upfront for an ENTIRE master bedroom of furniture, they said it's their policy if someone "does not accept" delivery - even though the delivery driver showed up UNANNOUNCED and had ZERO communication with us. We've been on the phone for hours and the "best" they could do is provide us with the same set of furniture with a backorder of three months...because it's feasible for my family to sleep on the floor without furniture for three months due to negligence on the business' side. HORRIBLE customer service. Every person we talked to was rude AND contradictory of each of their policies. SAVE THE HEADACHE!!! Go somewhere professional. read more

The only way that i would purchase a couch set for my parents was under the condition that I would get them within a week from purchasing them and not 3 months like the couch set i previously ordered for myself. I was promised i would receive everything within a week. I find out that the tables are on back order. I called after a month and 1/2 and was told i would receive them by June 9th. Here I am July 12th and after trying to get a hold of someone all weekend I finally get through and was told they're still on back order and will receive them in September! If only we read the reviews before shopping at the Lathrop location. I had a great experience at the Sacramento location so we just went, were we wrong. We spent $12,000 and are not pleased with the service. The sales rep., Amy (Chitra) failed in providing customer service which in the end is a representation of Ashley Furniture. When she would text that she would follow up, we would not hear from her. Two weeks in and still no contact from anyone. When you call the Lathrop location, it is virtually impossible to reach a human to speak to. If you try Customer Service they are worthless as well. Continuing to refer you to the store where you can't reach anyone. After stressing the delivery date, just three days before the delivery date we find we cannot change the wrong date they had. Even a piece was noted as a pick up. Needless to say we spent too much money to spend the time we have. You are forgotten after they get your money! It was only after reaching Sabrina two days before the wrong delivery date did we get the delivery matter resolved. She should have received the commission from our purchase not the sales rep. I am extremely disappointed in the service provided at this specific store. To begin with the sales rep Nicole as soon as she found out we were back at the store for an issue in our delivery she completely disappeared and not once came to check on the issue. The manager Erick verbally made a promise of something he later denied ever stating and our mistake was not having anything in writing for us. The delivery drivers they used gave mis information on the items and we got stuck with an item we do not like. In order to fix the problem there was "nothing" the furniture store could do and we have found ourselves needing to purchase an additional item. This was our first experience ever at Ashley furniture and my expectations were completely crushed. The quality in the item is great. The service and the run around has been a nightmare. I would never recommend anyone to this store or ever feel comfortable taking anyone's "word" advise would be get EVERYTHING in writing, do not settle for smiles and verbal promises they need to make their sale after that they don't know or remember you. Also no matter what the delivery guy states or notes he makes REGECT anything you do not like or want to avoid weeks of running around. So disappointed. read more

Wow... horrible horrible service! No ownership either for their wrongdoing. And forget about speaking to a manager, it's as if one doesn't exist. Yet they were like vultures when they wanted my business. 1. Never got a call about scheduling my pick up. My item sat in their warehouse until I called to check on it 3 weeks later. 2. Made an appt to pick up and still waited 1.5 hours to get it loaded in our truck. My husband had taken off work early to pick it up on time. 3. When we opened it at home, item arrived cracked and dented. Should have known that would be the case when the warehouse guys were banging it around as they brought it out. 4. I was offered a complimentary delivery for the trouble. Had to wait another week for delivery. 5. Received texts of the delivery today. I call for a delivery time window. Well we decided to buy a new living room set today. Time at the store was fine rep did a good job helping us pick out items with little to no pressure. The issues happens when you want to get your items. When you arrive at the warehouse, there system is absolutely horrible. They do not have a clue how to run this portion of the business. You spend hours and hours trying to pick up your items. at most they have one guy that is supposed to help everyone that is in line. Then once your items are there you have to inspect each item then get them loaded by that same person. while all the people sitting at the desk sit on there fat asses. I guess you don't believe anyone else's review's until it happens to you. This is the worst place to shop. I had a few problems with this place, but I really wanted that darn coffee and end tables. The person who helped me was really nice, until she called over a Manager to adjust the price to what was shown online. Pretty young lady with an attitude the size of Texas. I guess since she was a Manager she could be an a** **le. Ordered the tables, picked a delivery date, and even took the day off from work so I could be there to receive the items.. Then guess what? No one showed up. I called customer service, and after being transferred around and hung up on a few times, they finally decided to get me over to the Lathrop store cause Dispatch had no idea why my items were not delivered. All they could tell me was that it was re-routed and won't be delivered that day. They got me over to the Lathrop store, they told a Manager what had happened and guess who I got on the phone? You guessed it....the little lady with the biggest ego you've ever seen. I asked for a refund and told them I didn't won't the items anymore, so she said hold on. You know what she did? Transferred me to another Manager for him to deal with this and without telling him what was going on or why she was transferring the call. Then this guy gets on the phone and doesn't have a clue as to what the problem is. This store is a total joke. Spend your time and money elsewhere. read more

I am about to either file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs, or I will file suit against one Ashley Home Furniture Store in Lathrop, CA for non performance. I purchased a sofa & wall recliner on 5/1/20, within 10 days realized these were not the pieces for us, went back to Ashley fully intent upon exchanging the furniture for two other, better, more expensive pieces, and was told "no refunds, no exchanges". After a heated discussion with the on-site staff and store manager, I proffered the written "contract" language on the back of the invoice and receipt for my purchases, and quoted the precise language which protects, enables, permits me, the consumer to do exactly what I intended...only to learn that the "exchange" refers to damaged items that they, Ashley FHS, cannot repair or replace. Next option was to have a technician make a house call to inspect the furniture and determine if it could be repaired or replaced. The on-site technician inspected the sofa and determined the reclining mechanism is flawed and can be replaced, she will order a new "meck" (which I assumed was her abbreviation for the word "mechanism"), and also agreed with me that the pieces do have a design flaw, and are not "safe". She left to discuss with her manager, returned and reported that they would order a replacement mechanism. I had to clarify that they, Ashley FHS, will not take back the pieces because the furniture isn't being used the way the furniture is supposed to be used....excuse me? I tip the fucking things because they are poorly designed and cheaply constructed, thereby vaulting me onto the floor where I caught myself before my face hit the entertainment center and AFHS refuses to exchange for better, more expensive items---at my cost---come to learn this particular franchise store/owner does not have a resale license. Sorry people, lack of a resale license is not the consumer's problem, especially when contract language negates the bit about "no refunds/exchanges" because the items I purchased are not close-outs or floor displays. I can and will escalate this matter. read more
