I'm kicking myself that I didn't find these reviews earlier. I've made several attempts to reconcile things with this store via email as well as on the phone with a manager to no avail so I thought I'd come here to share my experience. My husband and I purchased a living room set on 9/1/14. The home is a vacation home and so before purchasing we made it very clear that we don't live there, so we need to coordinate with a friend to let the delivery guys in. Sure, no problem, I'll be able to schedule a date and time that's convenient. I could not have possibly been told a bigger lie. The first delivery date was set for 9/11 between 2:30-5:30 PM. I told them that I could only do a time window earlier in the day or would need to reschedule for a different day, so we pushed back to 9/18 and asked if I could request an earlier delivery. They said they'd make a note of that, but then scheduled the next delivery for between 2:30-5:30 PM again. Fortunately I was able to find someone else to let them into my house. We did NOT receive a call 30 minutes prior to delivery as promised, they showed up 30 minutes later than the latest possible time, and upon arrival they informed us that one of the pieces was back-ordered. We were not notified of that at all by anyone prior to the delivery. They rescheduled the delivery of the remaining piece for today, 9/25. The delivery was originally scheduled for between 3:30-6:30 and said that I would be the last delivery of the day, so once again I had to inconvenience a friend to meet them at my house. My friend worked until 3:30 so I figured it would be perfect - until I got a call that they were running 90 minutes EARLY and were about to come to my house when nobody was there to greet them. My friend was still working so now we have to reschedule again for next Saturday, 10/4 - more than a month after we purchased the set. I absolutely never would have purchased this set with me living out of town if I had been told truthfully that I wouldn't have any control over the times of delivery. Also, if I had been notified of the backordered item ahead of time, I would have delayed everything so we would only have to do one delivery day. In addition to the hellacious delivery issues, I feel completely duped about the "Montage 5-year Protection Plan". My sales associate, I believe his name was Matan, told us that it would cover ANY AND ALL damage/scratches/stains that the furniture would incur. When I said I wasn't interested, he strongly pushed the fact that if we didn't make a claim, we would get a full refund of the protection plan's cost. We decided to go forward with the purchase knowing that, but after signing and paying, he presented us with the fine print showing that you don't get a refund, only a store credit to get MORE Ashley furniture that I probably will never have delivered! In addition, all the reviews I've read since state that the plan covers virtually nothing. Fantastic. Really looking forward to that. Everything I've written here I've also put in writing to this store more than a week ago. All I want is some type of apology, recognition that they haven't done a good job, and perhaps a refund of the delivery fee since it's been a debacle and huge inconvenience to several of my friends in addition to myself. We're told we would get a call today whether we need to be home tomorrow for a delivery tomorrow and no call and no answer the multiple times we've called. No reply to emails either. I'm really sorry to have to give them such an abysmal review. I have had some of the associates give me decent customer service, but they are few and far between and they never seem to stick around for long. For the most part, the furniture that you SIT on isn't horrible quality, but everything in their store is made with the cheapest materials possible. Every piece that I have bought there has required extensive repairs and anything which required assembly was missing several parts or improperly cut. Their delivery personnel are extremely unprofessional and habitually late. Several of the repairs I have had to conduct were a direct result of delivery driver incompetence. Despite all these quality control issues, my main objection was and is with the in-store service. Recently, I was inquired if they had any pieces that were made with ACTUAL wood and the sales person proceeded to insult me, saying that his particle board was, in fact, SUPERIOR to real wood and that I would be wasting my time to look elsewhere because -direct quote here- "only an idiot would even build with solid wood." Having recently purchased SEVERAL solid wood pieces, I know this to be untrue, and when I informed him of this, he insulted me further, AGAIN falsely asserting that particle-board was a superior substance. His dumbassery aside, I have found that almost EVERY Item sold in their store can be found for a lower price at any of a variety of retailers including Target and Fred Meyers (their service personnel at least have the courtesy to admit that they know nothing about the products in their care). It is also worth noting that their advertised "in-house financing" is run through "Rent-a-Center." With which Ashley seems to be closely affiliated. Short version: 1: Service personnel are terrible, pushy, arrogant, and poorly informed 2: Furniture is inferior-grade at best 3: If you're looking for cheap, poorly constructed imported furniture, try IKEA, Fred Myers, or Target, but stay the hell away from this store read more

I bought a living room set through them and loved it. But the day after it was delivered I sat in the chair and I felt a spring pop under me. Which would be understandable if I was a large person but not a 160 lbs man! Anyway when i flipped the chair over i realized that indeed a spring had popped through the bottom felt had already been torn and covered by tape to keep it from hanging down. The chair was literally a day old. Called up ole Ashley and they said there was nothing they could do because i didn't report it to the delivery men the day of delivery. We will NEVER shop here again, neither will any of my family or friends after what we have been through. The worst customer service and communication I have ever experienced. The store blames the corporate office, the corporate office blames the store, and they both blame the delivery driver for not getting me my items when they were supposed to. They offered to refund my delivery fee, yet it's been three weeks since I was supposed to get a refund for furniture I didn't end up wanting. They still owe me back over $500! Run away! Such a poorly run business. I ordered furniture that was I was told was "IN STOCK" and a few items that I was told would be in 8-12 weeks. My sofa was there, but they wouldnt deliver it since it was ordered with furniture that was not in stock, I had to wait for the other items. After finally being told I could split my delivery....they sold my sofa to someone else and pushed back my other items again and again. I finally realized, no one could tell me when I would get my items and the continued promises were empty. I cancelled everything. They had my money from day one months ago. Do you think I could get a refund in a reasonable amount of time? NOOOOOO I was then told it would take 15 days to get a refund...but they took my money right away. We purchased over 4,000 worth of furniture over 3 weeks ago. Still haven't received my bed! I have had 3 different delivery dates cancelled by them the day before or the day of. I call in every time get put on hold forever. My new delivery date is tomorrow and if it's not delivered then I'm going to cancel my order. Every time I call in the customer service is absolutely horrible. They don't care that I don't have a bed right now. Came to this store to get a table that was closer to the ground then my current counter height because I have a toddler and we like to eat dinner as a family at the table. Found a table that I loved in the beginning of February and it was supposed to be delivered at the end of February.. it wasn't... they don't know when it will be delivered. March came and went... April came.. and with April came the bill for a table that I don't own.. and now here we are in May and still no table and no one can tell us where the table is or when it will be here. "It should be here May 20th"... We also purchased a temperpedic in early February and that came with an unmarked delivery truck and delivery drivers who did not speak english so that was fun and made me feel totally safe. We were promised a 90 day money back guarantee if we didn't like the bed for any reason...Well, the bed is fine, we just want to exchange the mattress because we don't like the split and get the rest of our money back. Nope. Can't do that - the money that we have left over has to go toward store credit. I don't want store credit because I don't want to wait 4 more months for a piece of furniture. This is total garbage. They say there's new ownership... hopefully the new ownership can make things right but I'm not very hopeful. I'll never do business with this company again and I intend on spreading the word about the garbage service I've received. Save yourself the headache - shop local or somewhere else. I was able to get a table from Ikea delivered in less than a week. There are furniture stores in downtown Mount Vernon, WA who have the same financing company as Ashley with better quality merchandise so if you think Ashley is the only place you can get financed, you are wrong - shop around but avoid this place unless you have months and months to wait for a table. If possible to give less than 1 star I would. Walked around the store multiple times and not once did we even get a hello from an associate. There were 4 of us with two kids. Sitting and trying furniture, Talking about fit and finish but nothing was enough to draw out an approach from an associate. Even with direct eye contact. Add to that, most items aren't priced so without an associate's help you are left to guess how much something costs. After around 30 minutes of being ignored, someone asked if I needed their "help". I don't need your "help" with anything. I could have used your assistance some time ago. Ashley furniture would use some "help" though. And while you are at it......get a grown up website. No excuse for a national chain to have such a weak ass website and sales staff. read more

Dealing with Ashley has been a fiasco. We ordered a complete living room set back in January, for full delivery to be expected on March 9th. It is April 10th and STILL do not have the entire order. Our third delivery (the final item) was due to arrive today and we confirmed it with Ashley on Monday the 8th. They did not show up today, and upon making a call to their delivery confirmation, was told it never made it to the distribution center. "Sorry you were not notified" was the response. April 25th is now the newest date set. The rundown....on March 9th we received a defective sofa as well as a coffee table which was scratched down the center. Both items were sent back with the delivery person. We were also told at the time that 3 other pieces on back order. All we got that day to keep were two lamps. End of March, received the replacement sofa, replacement coffee table, loveseat and end table. Told that one piece is still on order. So, today was optimistically expecting that final piece. It was a no show and not even a courtesy call. There is more I could share about the customer care, but all I will say is that it is worthless. Too bad, because the actual furniture once you get it, and when it is not flawed or defective, is quite nice. We will not use Ashley again, and plan to purchase an area rug and additional lighting from a more reliable source. Also, Ashley has incorrect phone numbers listed for me on their delivery emails. I have gone into the store as well as contacted customer care to correct the transposed number, but does not seem to have had any effect. So, if they come back on Yelp to say they tried contacting me with no success, Uh, I wonder whyj!!! read more

Over promised and under delivered. Ordered dining room table and chairs, couch, love seat, coffee table, end tables, and a full bedroom set on 7/18. We were told everything was in Tacoma warehouse and that it would be delivered on 8/17 after we closed on our brand new home. Moved the delivery to 8/15. Get three calls saying the bed rails weren't available. Oh goodie. Today rolls around, surprisingly the entire bed set showed up. Nothing else. We have a new delivery date of 8/30. Called back, and now we have THREE DIFFERENT DELIVERY DATES for the remaining items...3!!!! Not happy with the customer service at the call center, not real thrilled with the lack of communication from the warehouse to the store to us. Still waiting to see of we can get everything here sooner.. All that was offered so far was a credit for the delivery of $250. I may even cancel the entire order.. What a nightmare dealing with this company. First off my salesperson was so pushy trying to get me to spend more financing which was over the top. my delivery date was scheduled a month out and then changed two separate times after that, and when they did show up they weren't in the time window that was provided and didn't have all of my order. The couch I bought had a big rip in the side and the delivery drivers tried to get me to sign for it like they didn't even notice it. I'm now over two months into this process since I purchased and the tear in my couch has no resolution in sight and I'm still not sure where the other pieces of my order are. My bed got delivered today...and was sent back in the same day, during the same appointment. The leg wasn't the right one, so they asked me to either keep the rest of the stuff in my place and wait for the correct leg (a 2-3 week wait) or order a whole new set (which is a week or so wait). There's no point in being upset, but what's the point in scheduling an appointment to have your furniture delivered if someone's just going to mess up the order and have you wait 2 weeks for the missing part? read more

My mom has a couch that she got from Ashley's about 4 years ago, the motor is not working and i paid for and scheduled a work order paid on 04/05/19, the work was to be on 04/12/19, no show and no call, i called in and they said I was "soft booked", SO What the heck. I was "hard booked" for 04/18/19 and was told I would be called on 04/16/19 for a time, again no call. I have been on hold now for 46 min and I am pissed as my mom has terminal cancer and is not doing well and depends on this movable couch for her pain comfort. However whoever it is that writes the pickup and delivery orders failed Beyond miserably! It's taken me three deliveries to get the foundation and two mattresses delivered and 1 old foundation and mattress taken away. I was without a bed to sleep in for two weeks. Not because of the salesman. Not because of the delivery men. But because of whoever writes the orders. This is getting a very low rating from me, not due to anyting done wrong by the deliverymen or the sales people, but because of their inability to write an order to remove the old Mattress and Foundation. They wanted me to wait for a fourth trip and have to work around a mattress and box springs sitting in my bedroom until they got around to removing it, if ever. You CAN cancel within a certain time frame. After we cancelled we were told that we have to 'WAIT for 2 weeks to get our money returned. We waited over 2 weeks..still no money. Called the store and was told that we have to wait an additional week because the refund wasn't sent in soon enough....HUH ! To say I am angry would be an understatement. After having done quite a bit of business with Ashley's in Burlington we will no longer use them for furniture EVER! We first purchased a bed - no problems, then a dresser, still no problems. Then a mattress and nightstands. Within a year the mattress sunk in the middle, to where there was no comfort sleeping. After MUCH ado, and two technicians, lots of calling, complaining, getting told a schedule only to find out later that it never was booked, getting our records dumped during their computer upgrade, we were finally able to get it replaced as a defective item, a process that took over 3 months to accomplish. SO when we go in to get a replacement mattress, we decided to purchase a sofa set. The saleslady assured us that it was REAL leather, and that the montage protection plan would cover any damage, scratches, crayon, marker, etc, etc. In less than a year the so called "Leather" started peeling at the seam in one of the seats. We tried to contact Montage but were informed that their warranty did NOT cover the fabric and that it wasn't leather, that if we wanted it repaired that it would cost us $60/hr to have someone come in and repair the material. So we contacted Ashleys in regards to this and again we're given the run-around. Try this, try that, you should be able to get customer service to do a defective merchandise claim, yada, yada. Anyways while we're trying to get this resolved, the middle seat back on the reclining sofa broke just from someone sitting in it next to the recliner part! Taking a look at it, the underneath materials shocked us! The frame was OSB stapled (not very well) to uprights, also made of OSB. The staples had pulled free. So now we have a sofa that is peeling AND breaking. We contacted Ashley's in Burlington again and spoke to Otto, the store manager who just told us that nothing can get resolved until the manufacturer gets back to them regarding the defective claim (That has already been in process for over two months!). When we got frustrated and wanted to just return the sofa to the warehouse, he threatened to call the police! Claiming we were littering! Never have we had such a difficult time with customer service, warranties or quality of merchandise. This sofa doesn't even have a manufacturer brand on it, only Ashley brand. So why are they waiting for word from the manufacturer when it's their brand? We HIGHLY advise against purchasing furniture from Ashleys! You can get the same quality of merchandise at a much cheaper price at many other stores! And at least it won't hurt the pocketbook as much! We will NEVER again shop there and will be advising any and all we know that we recommend going somewhere else! We have also reported this to the Better Business Bureau and wouldn't be surprised if eventually a class action lawsuit is processed against them based on the rest of the reviews we've seen since! We ordered a dresser for our daughter, end table and bed frame. The bed frame was fine. The dresser and end table were cheaply made. From day 1 of delivery, the doors did not shut properly, they were flimsy and weak. the only way to close them was to slam them shut. Then once shut would be incredibly difficult to re-open. The dresser was for my daughter so obviously does not have the ability to close that hard nor even open when they do get closed. Customer service has been a nightmare. No one calls us back. We had to initiate the pictures to send, then when those weren't good enough they asked us to use the online chat. when using the online chat for this purpose they tell us they will call back and never do. we waited 4 weeks for a technician to come in, then when they did they agreed that the product was not in proper working order however they sent the notes back to head office that the product was fine and they closed our file. This has been a nightmare experience and I highly recommend you stay away as no one will help you if something goes wrong. read more

Terrible. I spent $250 per dinning room chair and after 2 years, the leg broke off of one when someone sat in it. The chair is obviously made from at least 2 different types of wood, glued together. There is a reason they only warranty their products for 1 year. read more
