My boyfriend & I purchased a couch at Ashley furniture a month ago and had exceptional service from Michelle. However, when we went to pick up our couch the warehouse no longer had it in stock, even though we called the warehouse two days prior to guarantee that it would be ready. Now we are out $100 to rent a truck & gas, a day off work wasted & we inconvenienced family & friends for no reason at all. To say the least, it made our moving day very stressful. What makes this matter even worse is that we will not receive our couch for another two weeks so we will not be able to entertain family that will be in town at our new house like we were looking forward to. Ashley furniture will delivery our couch for free but that still does not make up for costs of moving we have already spent & now we have to cancel plans on a Saturday so that the couch can be delivered before the holidays. When I called the store where I purchased the couch they said they cannot help me since this is a warehouse issue and all they could do is submit a ticket and someone may reply in 48 business hours when I requested to speak with a representative. I will not continue to give Ashley Furniture my business nor my referrals in the future. I believe spending the amount of money that I did within the past month with this establishment deserves higher quality of service which we did not receive. read more

I have received the WORST service ever at this store. I ordered a bedroom set and dining room table with chairs. All were scheduled to be delivered on 9/16, which they were. Unfortunately, the bedroom set was missing the boxspring and had brought the wrong size bed sides. The delivery guys installed everything as if nothing was wrong, and put a full sized mattress on a queen sized bedframe (without a boxspring). When I asked the gentlemen if they thought it would be safe to put my 4-year-old daughter on it they began to take it apart and took away the 'bad' parts. I was told by a customer service rep that the correct parts would be brought the next day. The next day, around 3pm, after waiting all day I finally called and was told that they had no record of the delivery. I scheduled a new delivery date, this time the only available time was 9/29, but they would try to get items to me sooner. On 9/19 the boxspring was delivered, but my daughter was still sleeping on a mattress on the floor, only now under a boxspring. On 9/25 I received a robocall voicemail telling me to call a number and confirm my delivery date of 9/29. When I called the number back I got a voicemail asking me to leave a message. I did, and left my name, phone number and confirmed that I would be home waiting on 9/29 for the furniture. I never received a call back. By noon on 9/29 we began calling Ashley Furniture and after over a dozen attempts actually reached a real person. That person told us we are scheduled for 10/1. Today, 9/30, I received the robocall again, this time it did not leave a number to call back. I called the store and spoke with Michael to confirm my delivery date. Michael told me it was scheduled for 10/2. I asked him to check his records and he confirmed that it was originally set for 10/1 but because of scheduling conflicts that it was pushed back to 10/2. After pressing him on this further, Michael told me it was "not his problem" and that he "didn't do anything" and it "wasn't his fault". I asked for Michael's last name and/or identification number. He told me no and hung up on me. I called the store back to ask for the manager and Michael answered and preceded to tell me that no manager was on duty and she wouldn't be until Friday. I've left a complaint using the form on the corporate website. And I still don't know if I'll receive the remaining furniture parts that I've ordered. Over the past 5+ years we have solely purchased from Ashley Furniture, but no longer. --UPDATE-- I received another robocall trying to confirm a delivery date of 10/2. I followed the prompts and eventually reached a person, Justin, who was very helpful. Justin rescheduled the 10/2 delivery date to a date that would work better for me, 10/6. He also confirmed what happened with our original delivery date of 10/1. He said that it was put on the first truck, but was moved to the second truck because the first truck was full. And since this order was a re-delivery that no sales person would call and notify me of the error. He also refunded me the delivery charge. Justin was the first helpful person I've spoken with in this entire process. --UPDATE 10/7/15-- After posting this multiple people at Ashley reached out to me, including someone named Carrie from the corporate office. She was amazing! She followed up with me nearly every day to make sure it was 'right'. Eventually we had the remaining parts delivered and installed on 10/6. I've raised my stars from 1 to 3 mainly because of her and her incredible service. She spent the time to listen to me and sounded genuine when she apologized. She followed up with the delivery warehouse to confirm the correct delivery dates. If I could give a review on her service alone it would be 5 stars. In the end, mistakes happen and things don't always work out as planned, and I'm OK with that. What I'm not OK with is being hung up on by a customer service rep, for any reason. I could/would understand if I were using foul language or being offensive. My suggestion to this would be to record all phone conversations with customers and store for 48 hours so if a complaint did come up then the tapes could be pulled. Nice people, decent prices, HORRIBLE delivery. You'll love the furniture in the store, but you will need to dedicate an entire 24 hour period for delivery. Will they deliver morning? afternoon? will they give you a range like the cable guy? They can't tell you anything besides the date until the DAY PRIOR. Not even a half day option. It's ok, say that may not work. Can you find out other dates? NOPE, not unless they cancel your entire delivery. Then back to waiting weeks on end. Want to pick it up yourself? Fine, but you'll be voiding the manufacturer warranty as told by the sales rep. This is how they keep the prices low. They utilize a bare bones delivery company with poor attitudes and no ability to help. read more

If you want to buy something that looks great and falls completely apart in a few years this is the place to shop. They have a one year warranty which means if the product is found to be defective (google "durablend peeling") they stand/hide behind the warranty. I have a very nice couch and recliner that 50% of the durablend leather has literally peeled off from normal/light use. Wish I could add a picture to review, you would be shocked. EDIT: While an offer appeared for assistance the story is the same. Ashley Furniture (the maker of the furniture) claims peeling leather isn't a defect it's wear and tear and there is only a one-year warranty and I'm past that. read more

I am STILL waiting for my dresser to be delivered. It was originally promised on December 20th with the rest of my furniture. Next, it's on backorder and will be delivered on the 27th. Nope, no one ever called and scheduled the delivery so I called on the 26th to find out what was happening. It was not scheduled and India, the customer service employee stated that it had just arrived at the warehouse on Christmas. Not true, that was a lie. The warehouse wasn't even open on Christmas so it's impossible that it would've been delivered that day. Next I get scheduled for the 31st. Still doesn't arrive and when I call to check on it, it was never scheduled because they don't deliver on mondays. Now I'm scheduled for the 7th. Guess what? Wrong again! Why, you ask? Because they don't deliver on mondays! So I'm now scheduled for the 8th of January. I receive a call to confirm delivery time which is set for 9:45-12:45. The delivery guy calls and says he's 10 minutes away. I make room for the dresser (I've been living out of boxes this entire time), he arrives and sees where the dresser is going. He goes back to the truck only to return empty handed. The dresser is on a different truck and now won't be here until 2:00. I'm fed up! I was promised $100 off my delivery by my salesman Damion Black, that never arrived. I was promised a $50 credit for all the inconvenience, there's no record of that. The staff member respected our space and answered all of our questions throughout the purchase process. I was in the Ashley store on Manchester 9/10/18 on my lunch and a lady had fallen who had a walker and was with some type of care taker. I overheard the employee call someone, I assume a manager, and no one came right away. I then heard the employees talking and saying that the managers told the employee they were in some type of meeting. Must be a very serious meeting not to leave and check on a fallen customer. Meanwhile the lady sat helplessly on the floor. Someone in a write coat of some kind came and was apologizing to the lady on the floor and I heard them tell someone on a radio or walkie talkie that he may need to come out the meeting. I think I heard the name Rob or Ryan he called, not sure if this was the manager or loss prevention or who he called, but I hope I never have a fall and they in a meeting. The lady sat on the floor for at least 15 minutes before anyone came. I was on lunch and about to leave and could hear the poor lady keep saying call an ambulance I just need help getting up. I guess they were afraid to help her up because of the possible injury. The ambulance guys came before the one guy with a clipboard made it. I think he was loss prevention or a manager, not sure but it was no since of urgency. I think the one guy told the lady on the floor he was some type of manager. This was sad, what type of meetings do they have that they can't leave if someone falls and could be hurt? read more

While I am excited about certain pieces of furniture I have received from this store, I am not pleased with the recent service I've had with receiving the furniture. The first time the furniture was delivered, the delivery guy forgot the wall mounts for my mirror. He promised he would be back the next day to install. I did not hear from him for a week, and wasted several days making sure I was either at home, or close to home since he would only give me a 30 minute heads up. I had to call the store to get replacement furniture anyways, so in my call I requested that someone bring the wall mount brackets when they come to replace the furniture. They assured me this would happen, but to remind the rep just in case when they call to confirm the delivery 48hrs in advance. I did just that, and the rep didn't see any record of my request. They said they would call within 24 hours to confirm the wall mounts would be delivered. I did not receive the call. When it came time for the 2nd delivery, the replacement furniture was delivered, but there was no record of needing a wall mount, thus the delivery guys did not have the brackets with them. The delivery men (great guys!) called on my behalf to voice how the mirror couldn't be attached to my dresser and wall without the specific mounting brackets. The rep said they would either deliver today, or call within 24hrs to tell me when they could come again. Again, no call or update. I called two days later to ask for the status of the wall mounts, and while there was record of the request, there was no update or apology as to why it hadn't been addressed. Instead, the rep mentioned they would have to purchase the wall mounts since they are no longer in stock, and this would take 7-10 business days. Once they were shipped to the warehouse they would call to set up a delivery date. This would mean it would be over 4 weeks at least since the first delivery that there's a chance of this getting addressed. When asked if I could speak to a manager about my experience or get some sort of discount for this taking forever, they said the only thing they could do was order the parts and have someone deliver them. Aka, what should have been down 4 weeks ago. As stated in the beginning, the furniture looks good, but the recent lack of communication and quality of service will lead me to other furniture stores in the future. read more

I ordered my couch on Black Friday from the store. I honestly felt brushed off by the salesperson because I wasn't spending thousands of dollars. I ended up buying a couch that I fell in love with. Since I do not have any time off at work, I asked for a Saturday delivery, which I was told could be on 12/8 from 10am-1pm. I confirmed my order two days before and received confirmation via text, email and voicemail. Friday night someone from customer service called and said that my items were on a truck that broke down and I now how to wait another 2-3 weeks. Now, I rarely get mad a customer service people because I've worked those jobs and know it's not their fault, but this seemed unfair. I asked who I could speak to since I will now have to take a day off with no pay from my job. I was told nothing could be done. The local store said my items were in but then changed their answer to match customer service. A third person reassured me that I would indeed get my items as promised; therefore, I got up early, moved all of my existing furniture ,cleaned and waited. 1 PM came and went, so I called the 866 number again. This time I was told my items were back ordered...then it changed to they are in the warehouse but they didn't get them on the truck in time. They did reimburse my delivery fee, but I'm not sure why they can't make any other logical effort like adding my order to the next delivery truck. Who goes to McDonald's or Target and is told to wait then asked to get back in line again behind everyone else in order to repeat the whole process? Their solution was to either wait or go get it myself from the warehouse. Had I spent more money, perhaps they would value my business. read more

My family and I went here to purchase a sectional a few days ago after going to MULTIPLE different furniture stores in the area. We were looking for something very specific due to space constraints and the two Ashley employees that we worked with, Nichole and Derek, were so patient and knowledgeable that the process went quick, smooth and without any weird pressure. Even when we were pretty sure which couch we wanted they showed us a few other options (all in our price range) just so we could be 100% sure. We didn't feel at all rushed. They had a great sale going on at the time and we actually ended up spending less than we planned, and I believe that we got a higher quality couch than we would have at other stores. It was a low pressure and professional sales process and we will definitely return to the West County location in the future! read more

Bought a leather couch from Ashley a few years ago. Within a year the arm rests started discoloring from "wear" even though we both work nights and the kids watch tv in the playroom so the couch is rarely used. Then the edges of the cushions started cracking. Even the seats have started to wear! I couldn't believe it, leather in cars last for years and don't fade or crack even in direct sunlight all day. Is it too much to ask for couches the same quality of car seats? Even cheap leather coats don't fade and crack like this. This wasn't some cheap on sale couch, we paid full price, thousands of dollars. Now it looks like a 30 year old couch I bought from a garage sale. I feel scammed. read more

My Husband and I purchased a sectional on November the 2nd for over $2000 in a nice sale. The people in the store were friendly and helpful. We needed a left arm chaise instead of the right arm which was not in stock. While disappointed and wanting our couch much sooner, we completely understand and go ahead with the purchase agreeing to the delivery date of November 30th. Our couch arrived and as it's being unwrapped and put together my husband realized it is missing the armless chair piece. He calls to make them aware and is told they did notice that wasn't on the delivery ?? So you noticed you were missing a piece after waiting 28 days and you don't feel it necessary to call and tell us? You can barley offer an apology once he calls and to top it off you don't Have that piece in stock now and have to Order it!!!!!!! We asked for a Manager to call, this was Saturday Morning. No one ever called back so we called again Today and we are told It now won't be delivered until December the 13th!!!! I am outdone with it.... you charged us full price the day we picked it out and signed the paper work therefore all pieces were fully paid for and in stock except the left arm chaise .... we weren't waiting on the armless chair!!! Then we requested to speak with a manager and that's not allowed ( although the lady I spoke to at the call center was very polite and understanding) I can certainly understand that a Manager doesn't offer their personal number however I'd imagine there is an office number where I could leave a message and at the very least I should be able to email my concerns to a Manager but I was not allowed that either. read more

I will never shop at Ashley Homestore again. My fiance and I have been so excited to turn our house into a home, and now it's become a headache. For our first big purchase, we decided to make our living room a little more cozy and buy a new sectional couch. We were so optimistic after talking to Damir at the Ballwin location, but clearly we should have done more research. We wanted to take advantage of the St. Jude special they had going on, so we pulled the trigger the day we walked into the store in an attempt to pay it forward. Because we are covering wedding expenses this year, we opted not to pay the ridiculous delivery fee (FYI, Carol House delivers for free). Damir told us that we could pick up our new couch from the warehouse on our own, and that we would have 48 hours to contact Ashley if there were any damages - without reading us the fine print. Apparently, even if Ashley provides a defunct product, that onus lies on the customer. My fiance had to take a half day at work (the warehouse closes at 5p.m., which, spoiler alert, most people work until 5p.m.) so that he could pick up the trailer he rented and get to the warehouse in time. When we got the couch home and unwrapped it, we discovered that it didn't have pre-drilled holes in the bottom of it to install the bases that came with it. Fast forward two days, and my fiance has spent countless hours on the phone with customer "service" reps to no avail. They told him that he could either bring the couch back to the warehouse, or we could PAY for a service tech to come out and drill the holes. Then, they told us that since we were already in possession of the couch, there would be no returns. Currently, my fiance is drilling the holes in the bottom of the couch himself, taking up his entire evening. In addition, we discovered that because the couch was sitting on the floor without the bases we COULDN'T install, the staples on the bottom of the couch scratched the hardwood that my fiance just installed himself when he bought the house. Frustration and disappointment doesn't even begin to cover this. I would highly advise anyone looking to buy from Ashley Homestore to do their research and shop elsewhere. read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with Ashely Homestore! I have honestly never left a review in my life, at least not a bad one however I felt this needed a write up. We recently moved and decided to furnish our home with a dresser, mirror and two nightstands from the store. We purchased in store and were set up for delivery (with a fee) two weeks later. We were promised, and I quote, "white glove delivery service, from truck to wherever we wanted in our house." Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Two days prior to the delivery date we were told that our dresser wouldn't make it because it was on backorder. Ok, no big deal, not sure why we weren't made aware of this sooner as we had already taken off work, but things happen and we deal with it. We were told by the delivery team that our nightstands would still be delivered. Good thing because my wife already took off work. Well the nightstands didn't show. For whatever reason our account was frozen at the time the backorder was realized and all items were scheduled for around 3 weeks later. Two days prior to the delivery, I confirm via there phone service. Delivery anticipated any time between 11-3pm. Great, I took off work and will be there all day. Around 1 pm I call to check on the status. "You are 9th on the delivery list and they are currently at stop 7." No problem I am here waiting. I get a call at 230 pm, from the delivery team, "the truck is en route to your place." Great I am here waiting. "Should be there in 10 minutes." Ok. 1 hour later .... still nothing. I call the delivery team, "I'm sorry, you were marked as not at home, and the team has moved on to another delivery." Ok WHAT? I spoke with someone who said they took a picture in front of my apartment building, showing that no one was home. Even though I spoke to someone and told them I was home waiting. Even though I live in an apartment building with an open door policy during the day. Even though I have a call box access with direct line to my cell phone. (never called). Even though my windows face the street and I was watching all day. To end this entirely too long of a story I called to see what happened and they had no answer to why I was never contacted or why my furniture was never delivered. This was the second time we had to miss work for this furniture, and we were very upset. TLDR: we cancelled our order and requested a refund after a two failed delivery attempts including one in which the delivery didn't even make an attempt to delivery. read more

I made the worst mistake of my life by switching furniture stores and going to Ashley. I purchased the North Shore Poster bed with canopy bedroom set that I have wanted for 9 years and now it is the biggest nightmare ever. I have been dealing with this issue for over a year now. I was sold the set on the premises that it was all wood to find that it is foam composite. The bed was damaged and after 5 new scheduled deliveries they never brought the right thing. So, finally a manager in a different state stepped up to the plate and resolved the damaged bed. Then the salesperson also told me to get the warranty and if I didn't use it I would be refunded in 5 years. Well, that's not true either. The truth is you get $500 to use on another purchase. So I wanted to cancel. I was given the number to GVS and its been 4 months and I still do not have my money back. Then I called the manager this past Friday whom I had resolved the bed issue with and she phoned the store for me and talked to someone who said the manager would call me Saturday. I never heard from her, so I called today and she say she never got the message. So, she wants to offer me a discount on the plan instead of my refund. Very heartbreaking and disappointing considering how long I have been dealing with this. Now I still have to wait two days before she will have an answer. so I initially gave them 4 or 5 stars. When I went to the store everything was great, every thing was explained and very detailed. This past Saturday my delivery came, I had a king canopy bed frame and a bunk bed with mattresses for my son. The delivery guys started putting the king frame together, they noticed some of the railings was stripped. He said," I'll call the warehouse and see if it can get fixed today so while I'm waiting on the return phone call we'll do the bunk bed." After doing the bunk beds, we still didn't hear from the warehouse, so we told them to take the frame back, there's no point in leaving half of a frame up or leaving the railings. Sunday, I called and spoke with someone, she was nonchalant and kept saying" I don't know what we are going to do and I'll have the store manager call you tomorrow." We noticed they left a bag of screws and jacket so we returned it to the store on Sunday as well. Monday afternoon, I receive a call saying "what's the problem, and why did you refuse delivery"? I said, "we didn't refuse delivery the railings was stripped, my place isn't that big to just leave half finished projects laying around". The lady said well, we are going to have to charge you a 10% restocking fee, I said I don't know why when the defected railings should have never been in the warehouse to begin with nor sent/shipped off for delivery. After talking in circles for 5minutes or so, I just said forget and I'll pay the 10%. My experience wasn't the best, I'll never shop here again. Horrible service! Upon delivery we received a dent in our ceiling and our headboard was assembled and installed upside down.... Really!! For our footboard storage drawers two different times people have come to install them and never have the right hardware.... Will never purchase anything from this company, AGAIN! I'm a very reasonable person and don't just go around bashing companies. However, with my experience at Ashley, I'd give zero stars if I could. I was told my couch would be delivered within 4-6 weeks when buying it. That turned to 10 weeks, then 14 weeks, so on and so on. The phone systems at Ashley are literally useless and you won't be able to get a hold of anybody at your home store so don't even try that. I had to come to the store at least 3 times to see what was going on with my order because I received so many different dates on when I was going to receive the couch. On one of my visits to the store, the store manager said you don't have to wait until the 14th or 15th week to get the couch anymore. It'll be delivered August 12th. I then get an email later asking to push it to August 14th. On August 13th I confirm my appointment for August 14th, only to receive another phone call literally 10 minutes later to reschedule that appointment to August 18th. Today is August 17th and I didn't receive any phone call or text to confirm an appointment for tomorrow. I go up to the store AGAIN and find out that it's not coming tomorrow and that it has been pushed back (Sept 15th) to the 15 weeks from original purchase date. And to think if I didn't go up there, I would be sitting around my place all day waiting for a couch that was never going to come. I will note that they waived the delivery fee, refunded me $120.00 and gave me a $150.00 store credit, but I've been yanked around so much by this company and today I finally cancelled the order. It is not worth it. Covid is a factor, but where is the accountability? I wish I would have cancelled it weeks ago, or better yet gone to a different store entirely. Take my advice and save yourself the headache and shop somewhere else. read more

I recently went to this location of Ashley to find some new furniture for my bedroom. I had heard good things about Ashley, so I thought, why not go check it out? Anyways, when I arrived, the store looked wonderful, with a vast variety of merchandise. My issue with this store was not the merchandise, quality, or appeal; the service. From the moment I walked into Ashley Furniture Homestore, not one of the employees greeted me, what-so-ever. Being in the store for about a half hour with my family, I couldn't understand why I was not greeted or serviced at all; must I mention I was not alone. Even when we were near or a consultant was passing by us, they didn't bear to open up their mouths to speak or even acknowledge our existance, which really pissed me off. I don't know why they acted in this way: stuck up, ignorant, rude, prejudice maybe? Age discrimination? One consultant was even around us for a while and just looked at us like she was disgusted. This store was RUDE, STUCK UP, DISCRIMINATORY, and just plain IGNORANT. **Ashley Furniture, if you are reading this, I thought you should know that you lost a valued customer. Unlike most people my age, 18. I pay for my own items, from my own pocket...not mommy and daddy's pockets. I was willing to pay a nice price for some beautiful furniture. A waste of time, STAY away. Ordered furniture over a month ago, still waiting on 4 pieces and can't get it delivered. 3 deliver NO SHOWS and the burden is on the customer to follow up on everything. Not to mention, expect 10-15 minutes to get through to anyone on the phone. Once you sign the dotted line, the store will have nothing to do with you, only call centers.........JOKE read more

Cory S at the West County location was so patient with us! He showed us all kinds of couches, recliners, and mattresses. He helped us find what we loved and then gave us time and space to decide our colors and if we truly loved the products. He wasn't pushy or in our face about buying the furniture. He assured us that if we have any problems with our products that he would be there for us. (He said we won't have problems, just in case though). I can't wait to see the furniture in our home! The checkout process was so easy. They gave us all of the paperwork we needed and were so kind and helpful. Once our furniture is delivered, I will be able to update my star rating. read more

My wife went into the store today to purchase some candlesticks for our living room. We wanted to purchase them and take them home and if they were not suitable, be able to return them. When she asked the salesman if they could be returned, she was told that the corporate policy on accessories is that all sales are final. This is ridiculous as we were not prepared to spend several hundred dollars on candlesticks and not be able to return them if they did not match the rest of the decor. She did talk with the manager who reiterated the corporate policy, but in the end said he may be able to make an exception if we could get the items back the same day. We have previously spent several thousands of dollars at this store on furniture, but will be going elsewhere in future. read more
