Our experience started out very positive during the sales process but quickly declined afterward. We were initially told our couches would be delivered within a few days of purchase, so we sold our existing couch to make room. A day or two before the scheduled delivery, we were informed that the sofa would be delayed for an additional week and a half at that point putting that to almost 2 weeks after purchase. We asked if there was any assistance available--such as delivery setup or a discount or if there was any way to get the product in quicker due to the inconvenience --since my husband would be working out of town for following next couple of weeks and I would not be able to assemble the furniture on my own. We were told nothing could be done except getting the "sofa" delivered at the end of the week and that's the best they could do. That still didn't help with our issue of delivery for the following week. On the first delivery date, the loveseat arrived instead of the sofa. Without us even asking, the delivery driver mentioned that the rest of our order was in the warehouse and was confused as to why it wasn't being delivered. When we relayed this information to our salesperson, we were told the delivery driver didn't know what he was talking about. This response felt dismissive and added to the confusion and frustration. Overall, the lack of communication and care after the sale--especially after spending $5,000--was disappointing. Unfortunately, due to this experience, we would not recommend Ashley to friends or family. We reached out via email as they requested to "work towards a resolution" and their "resolution" is telling us that they are also "tracking" our product and now telling us a part of the order is also going to be delayed another day. Still no offer to compensate on installation due to their errors. This is absolutely unheard of. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM ASHLEY! Do your research... read more

After shopping around town and finding most shops srll a mixture of products including a lot of Ashley furniture. So my thought was to go straight to the source and get a better deal. I was in shock to find out the small shops sell Ashley furniture for less than you can.but at Ashley. The bed we wanted was 399 at the smaller shop and 499 at Ashley. You got to be kidding me. Never pay more for the same product. Shame on Ashley for over charging. Thats probably why the first Ashley store went out of business. I am writing to express serious concerns regarding the financing terms that were presented to my son at the time of purchase, as well as the lack of clear and transparent customer service he received. While I understand that there are different types of interest rates and financing options available, it is critical that these differences are clearly explained to customers. One interest rate option may be reasonable; however, the option given to my son is extremely unfavorable. He purchased a mattress priced at approximately $2,000, yet due to the financing arrangement, he will ultimately pay close to $6,000. At no point was it clearly explained that this purchase was structured as a rent-to-own agreement. He was not informed that the contract could not be canceled, that the mattress could not be returned, or that there was no option to exit the agreement once signed. This lack of disclosure is deeply concerning and does not reflect an acceptable standard of customer service. Customers should be fully informed of all terms, obligations, and long-term costs before entering into a financial agreement--especially one with such significant financial impact. I walked in this place on a mission...Dining Chairs. I was greeted by a sales lady who pointed me in the right direction and I was off. As I walked through the store, I found many chairs but I noticed that most had upholstery which to me makes little sense. A dining room chair is where you eat and food is messy. Why do people like fabric on these chairs? How do you keep them clean? Not even just from children but from messy adults as well. There was a nice selection but I didn't end up finding any chairs that I fell in love with. The workers I encountered were nice and friendly and I may come back for a bed at a later date. I had to come back to update my original review after we had one bad experience after the next. This is more towards the company Ashley Furniture instead of the specific Bakersfield branch. My husband and I ordered a large 3 piece TV stand set. They delivered it to our house in damaged condition. The pieces didn't align correctly, the shelves were damaged, and the top surfaces were cracked... on all 3 pieces. This was not a cheap set. On closer inspection, the quality was not great at all. No problem though, we can just call to have it corrected. After a terrible on the phone experience they finally agreed to send us another set. Shipping was delayed and when they arrived, there were parts that were also broken. We got back on the phone to have this corrected but my husband and I were so frustrated, we just made the decision to count it as money wasted and to never buy Ashley furniture again. read more

I learned the hard way regarding the purchase of a five year warranty for my dining room set. The warranty covers stains so when I spilled something on one of the dining chairs I called the warranty company and they mailed a cleaning kit. It didn't remove the stain. I called again and they sent a service tech to clean the stain but it only made it worse. I called the warranty company again and they issued me $12 for the "cost" of the chair since they exhausted their cleaning attempts. (The set cost $3,500) I called and spoke to a manager at Ashley and "unfortunately" there's nothing they can do. They do not stand behind the warranties they strongly advise you to buy. Other than issues with the warranty, I like the products I have purchased there. read more

I went into Ashley furniture, cash in hand asking to buy a table and chairs. I was told it wasn't for sale. after days of begging them to sell it they finally agreed. under one condition, I HAVE to buy a piece that has nothing to do with the table and chairs. I didn't want this piece so they refused to sell it to me. I loved this table and chairs set so I agreed to buy the random piece as long as I could get free delivery. I was told they don't do that. management refused to work with me. they refused from the very begining to treat me like a paying customer. I've never begged a furniture store to sell me furniture and the fact that I had to do so just to get screwed over should have been the first red flag. you can't force someone to buy another piece just to make more money. they do offer delivery but not on "clearance" items. I was buying the floor model. scratched up, and had wear and tear already. I didn't make this purchase, I'm sad about it but I hope this helps others chose a better company who takes care of paying customers and does not force more pieces in order to buy what they want. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. We spent thousands of dollars on a couch from Ashley and it was delivered defective. Their so-called "customer care" team has done nothing but stall and push us in circles. The technician they sent was honest enough to admit that Ashley almost never does anything to resolve these issues and told us to go straight to the store manager. His written report, however, was a total misrepresentation of what he told us in person. That's shady, dishonest, and unacceptable. Ashley Furniture is happy to take your money, but when the product is defective, they'll leave you stuck with it. Zero accountability. Zero integrity. We are demanding a full refund or replacement immediately. Until then, I will be sharing this experience publicly, filing complaints with the BBB, FTC, and State Attorney General, and warning others not to make the same mistake we did. In 2023, we purchased a dining room set and master bedroom set. We were strongly encouraged to purchase an extended warranty, which we did, in the amount of $1,480.03. Eleven months later, we discovered an arm on one of the chairs was coming loose. The dowel had never been glued. We called Ashley, and they couldn't find our paperwork. Once they found it, it was beyond their one year warranty (convenient?). We contacted the extended warranty, and they declined coverage, stating "What we do not cover: Repair, replacement or maintenance in connection with failure due to defects in materials or workmanship, normal wear and tear, or accidental damage from assembly, except as listed in the Plan Coverage section". Ashley salesperson was very high pressure about buying the extended warranty, stating that it would cover anything. We were not given a copy of the policy at the time we paid. We were told it would be mailed to us. It never was. We did manage to identify the warranty company. It is called "Regard". Local store manager nor Ashley Corporate Headquarters is willing to offer any restitution. They sold us a warranty that covers nothing. read more

She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and give us options to look at and the additional information we needed. I recently purchased a recliner sofa from Ashley Furniture. I have made purchased from Ashley Furniture in the past and returned to the same salesperson because I trusted her. I told her that I'm disabled after having 5 lower back surgeries and 1 neck surgery. She decided to take advantage of my trust to make money I was sold a $3000 recliner sofa that she failed to disclose snapped into 3 pieces. The sofa snaps apart simply by going from seated to standing and by slightly leaning towards the right. The technician came out and said that their is nothing he can do to fix it. The company has determined that the couch is not defective and refused a refund or any discount despite the couch is brand new. I have not even received my first bill for payment. I believe that the salesperson is supposed to disclose such information. I will definitely seek the advice of an attorney but highly doubt that I can get it rectified. We stopped at Ashley's Home store on Rosedale last weekend. A gentleman greeted us immediately upon entering explaining pricing and sales and the layout of the store. I did ask how long to get delivery and he said they are huge and the wait for furniture was not long. I heard from several other stores it could be months for delivery. They have a nice selection of couches and sectional to pick from. The store is big and we wandered around a while. The man gave us his cell phone to call him if we needed help or to ask questions. Mychal was our salesmen and he was a pleasure to deal with. My wife and I were bickering over different sectionals, colors, sizes, and etc. and Mychal had valuable input that overall determined our decision and made light fun of it. I've visited Ashley several times, but I've never bought furniture here until recently. I'm not gonna lie, I feel like furniture is overpriced here and Ashley's wasnt my first choice, but we were downsizing and I needed a small set. I've been to many furniture stores and I've liked a lot of things here, but they are wayyyyyy tooo pricey for everything. Every other furniture stores has similar prices, but Ashley is always 50% or 75% more than the other stores. I don't think this place is bad, it's a nice store, but they could bring some of their prices down to make it more friendly and affordable for everyone. We had scheduled for our delivery on a weekend and when the guys got there, they were not friendly at all. We measured our doorway and we anticipated the furniture to fit, but the guys didn't remove the furniture from the wrapping/boxing. If they removed it from the boxing and it was damaged then we d be liable so we opted not to take our chances and send the furniture back. Rather than just taking the couches back, the delivery guy caused a scene at our house. He threw a fit and even pushed the couch out of my house through the sliding door as hard as possible that we had to double check if he broke the tracks. Anyway, we later found out that the delivery guys was from a "contracted" company and we wanted to just get a refund and go some place else. To make a long story short, our sales rep (I think the gals name was Lauren) she ended up helping us out and it ended up working out w a different set that was a little smaller. If I didn't know that those guys were contracted I would have rated Ashley really low. We were caught off guard because everyone at the store was really nice and from ordering to completing our purchase it was super easy. I don't buy furniture regularly, but I really liked that the employees were really friendly and helped us w our purchase. The store was nice and had a wide range of products to choose from. I really feel that Ashley should reevaluate their contracted delivery people because they were very unprofessional and that type of behavior makes Ashley's seem like a bad company when they really aren't. read more

Her sales skills was enough to convince us to buy not just one, but two couches! (one sectional and one sofa that reclines back). My wife definitely fell in love with the reclining sofa, as soon as Maria G showed us the reclining sofa that matches the same exact color as our sectional couch. She explained all the information, made sure everything was taken care of. She also explained all the policies, warranties and if anything gets damaged, it's all good and covered. No extra charge or deductibles. We hope to do business with her again soon. Although the initial experience was great with the sales representative. After spending about $8k, every single delivery had issues. First, was my sectional, they forgot to bring the ottoman the delivery guy said it was due to it being on back order. This wasn't true as the warehouse confirmed it was left behind. They delivered the following week and failed to bring the feet for the ottoman. Second, my bed. They delivered a headboard and actually put it together knowing there was a rip in the upholstery on top. When I entered the bedroom the delivery guy wanted me to sign and when I called out the damage, he insisted I make a claim through the protection I purchase. I obviously refused the delivery and he was upset when he needed to take the headboard back. It was then delivered 2 weeks later but with not hardware. When that was called out, the hardware was send to me almost 6weeks after purchase. The store staff have been great to deal with sorting out these issues. But as a customer, the experience and value is about the follow through and the warehouse along with the delivery crew are indeed an extension of the Ashley brand. If they worked on quality control and a little more of an honest approach when expecting customers to accept delivery of expensive, yet damaged product. read more

This is probably the largest furniture showroom in town. They have some good sales several times a year that come very close to matching the big warehouse stores as far as pricing goes and the quality is almost as good. Having bought a sectional sofa here 3-4 years ago I can say that the in store sales people are knowledgeable and will do whatever they can to help you. The downside is once the sale is complete you are left to deal with corporate for any concerns or warranty issues. I have never had a worse customer service experience than dealing with the corporate. We had some issues and left voice messages and never received calls back. We sent emails and got the same exact response, none! I suppose if you were to go through your purchase with a fine tooth comb at the time of installation this can be a good place to shop. But be warned, do not let the installers leave if you have any concerns or issues because once they are gone the problem is all yours and you will never get any help again. read more
