I waited 1 month for my chair, then drove 3.5 hours there and back, to pick it up at Surrey Warehouse from North Vancouver. Opened packaging to find it badly damaged. Policy states I need to return it myself (another 3.5 hour drive), to get my refund....or pay $166. To have them come and get it. Read the back of your purchase papers! It can't be delivered back to the store where you bought it. Everything is worded to there advantage, and no liability for them. It also states the customer only has 3 days to file a complaint. So........my suggestion is if you still want to purchase from Ashley's, then please open the packaging at the warehouse, (if you pick it up there, and not have it delivered for a charge of $166.) I love that so many of their sofas are available to be made as sofa beds. The memory foam mattresses made by Sealy were a huge selling feature. Bill helped me find the perfect sofa. Delivery is a little pricy at $149 and they don't take away old furniture, which is unfortunate but understandable with bed bugs etc. But now I have to hire a removal company for my old sofa bed... looking forward to getting my new sofa bed though! Horrible service... will charm your pants off to get you to spend your money.. but once you've paid.. they could care less... you will be given a date that your furniture will arrive.. but it won't show up.. . They have a really nice selection of furniture and lots of options to fit our smaller budget. My husband and I shopped around for weeks and ended up buying a beautiful Alenya sectional. Bought love seat and chaise lounge from Ashley Furniture Homestore in Langley, BC. Dealt with sales rep Gary who was very helpful at first or so we thought. Was told delivery would be 2 to 4 weeks and because of delivery schedule I decided to pick up myself. Well almost 5 weeks later and still not ready, told that it would be at least another week. When I called and talked to Gary he said that on the invoice, which we paid full price and signed there is a delivery date of June 2, almost 8 weeks after purchase. This was not told to us or explained to us while paying and only noticed this date when I phoned to ask about the delay. Obvisously Gary, and Ashley Furniture Homestore Langley resorts to shady sales tactics to get your money. Will never shop there again or at any Ashley Furniture store for that matter. read more

This is my second time buying Ashely furniture. The first was a couch, loveseat and 1-/2 chair. I have been very satisfied with the product. My second was just recently when I bought a dining room set. When it arrived, the table was scratched (possibly by the movers). My first instinct was to worry that I would have trouble returning it. I was very pleasantly surprised when they were exceptionally nice about it and without any problem I was given a new table. The woman that took care of everything for me, Claudette, was extremely pleasant. I guess best of all was that fact that I was given a scratch and save when I purchased the table and I saved 30%. Tried to by a small tv cabinet. $99.00 delivery fee to Langley OR pick up in Coquitlam due to "no warehouse space here in Langley" Manager would not consider an exception nor speak to me directly. Do not buy from Ashley! We shopped out a couch, love seat and chair set between 3 stores all similar in style etc... We ended up buying from Ashley based on what we were told from our salesman and because overall we really liked the look and size of the set. The one we purchased was the Damacio set which we were told was their "highest quality couch that they use to compete with Lazyboy"! We were told "everything was covered" for 5 years with the warranty we got, which I found out isn't true. We have had noticeable color fade on the seating area of the leather which started only 10 months after the purchase and we were told that it could be environmental conditions which they aren't responsible for.... Gotta say I had my last leather couch set from The Brick for 11 years with 'No' color fading so when I just paid $5500 for this set and now I'm having immediate problems with fading not to mention the seating area has also started to fall in(which also isn't covered), I wasn't happy. PLUS, if you have a problem good luck getting any results! Over the course of dealing with these defects I have left a total of 11 messages for Scott, General manager for I was told was also a part owner, and only ever received 2 phone calls back... That isn't the level of customer service I want when investing this kind of money into anything I buy! So now I'm stuck with a couch that has multiple defectives and a warranty that won't do anything for me... BRUTAL! Paul started off being great when we went to purchase a bedroom set on March 3/17 and dining room set but once we paid for some of the furniture, things went downhill...price of warranty was "misquoted"...no call letting us know that our ordered dining set was on back order, we called had to call them to look for our furniture!...rec'd a call today from another salesperson to let us know that Paul was away and that our furniture had arrived a little while ago....this store's customer service is the worst I have ever seen...will never buy from them again!!! read more

My husband and I came in to look for a sofa and loveseat. We were immediately greeting by the friendly staff and helped by Sophia. My husband and I were expecting a baby in early September and we were hoping to get the couch as soon as possible. We placed an order for the customized sofa and loveseat that was on promotion, but were informed through phone call a few days later that unfortunately the sofa and loveseat would take a bit of time to receive, and the Manager Scott and Nicole offered to either give our money back. My husband and I ended up finding another sofa and loveseat (the Nalini in slate grey) and Scott rushed the order as best as he could to have it delivered before the birth of our daughter. We received our couches quickly and exactly what we wanted. We are very pleased with our order and the at home delivery. The manager Scott, Nicole and Sophia were most helpful! read more

Better hope you don't have a problem. Sales staff is super friendly when you buy something but treat you like dirt if there is a problem afterwards. Any questions or concerns you ask about the wrong bed you received is responded to as though you are the problem and should have known better. Then they refuse to replace it with the correct one until you pay a restocking and a new delivery fee. Can't even discuss with them on the phone while the delivery people are at your doorstep. Delivery people were embarrassed listening on speaker phone because they just treat you like crap and suggest maybe you should come in to the store if you have an issue with the delivery. When you get to the store its the same tough luck attitude. Ask for a manager ?? - never one available or maybe try tomorrow. Been to other Ashley's and didn't have a problem - just stay away from the Langley one. read more

Service was great prior to purchase but follow up service and warranties are a scam. We purchased a leather sectional with 3 recliners. After several days in our home we noticed a piece of leather was missing at the bottom of one of the recliners. We were made to feel that it was our fault because we failed to inspect the sectional on delivery. After numerous attempts calling customer service and given the run around - salesman visit, technician visit and finally taking the recliner out for repair not replacement. The same chair (not even 6 months old) developed a stain on the headrest. As soon as we noticed this we contacted customer service who referred us to the warranty that we purchased for $379.00. We were turned down by the warranty coverage because they assumed the stain was a bodily oil. How silly of us to think we should rest our heads on a headrest! They suggested we would be covered by the one year store warranty. Customer service gave us a bad time and after several calls to have someone come out and look at the problem just hung up on us. We finally got the salesman to come out and take a photo. Now it might be a medication that we might be taking to cause this but they were unable to tell us which one. We are in our 70's and did not try to disguise this at anytime. Most people our age take some meds. Of course we were never advised of this prior to purchase. After numerous calls to the salesman we were turned down. For us this was a major purchase in our retirement years and what recourse do we have? I would never recommend the Ashley furniture store to anyone for any product. They talk the talk but couldn't care less about the customer or quality of their products. We were told that this had happened before and I can't imagine what these people had to go through to be turned down. read more
