We spent $2000 per couch ($4000 total) and then foolishly bought the extended warranty. After a year the seats started discoloring where the three of us sit and the store told us it shouldn't happen but we have the extended warranty so we should file a claim. The extended warranty stated they don't do discoloration. Then the seams started opening and again, the extended warranty, we were told did not cover seams. We again spoke to the store and the best we got, was that they had problems with the couch so they no longer carry it; but we were basically told, too bad you bought it, so sad it was crappy. read more

My experience from Ashley has been nothing but awful. I bought a sectional couch in the middle part of February and was told we would receive our furniture in April. It is now almost July and they still have not delivered our furniture. I understand COVID-19 had something to do with the delay, but we were unable to contact anyone for 3+ months to discuss our order. When I spoke with the manager of the location to complain his response was "I didn't even know if I had a job last month". This location an/or company is poorly funded. read more

Purchased $7k of furniture from Ashley less than a year ago to furnish our new house. Ashley sold us a warranty that would supposedly cover the entire purchase. Well, the quality of the outdoor furniture is a joke. The umbrella base to our outdoor furniture is rusting, the "all weather" table is rotting and literally falling apart. This is despite my purchase of a cover for the table to provide protection against the elements. The outdoor swing was never able to be assembled properly by Ashley installers due to a bolt not being able screw into a warped / stripped threaded hole. Ashley only offered us a $50 gift card for this mishap, stating that the item has been discontinued and they cannot fix. However, it is currently available on their website. So, we filed a claim for the outdoor furniture. The warranty company (GPS) said there was nothing they could do since Ashley signed us up for the wrong warranty. Martha from GPS explained this to Melissa @ Ashley who won't return any of our calls. I went the the Brookfield store to talk to someone and show them pictures. The sales staff gave me what now appears to be insincere lip service as he took down my info and said that Gillan would call back within 48 hours. Of course, that time frame passed without any contact from Ashley. So, now I'm not only stuck with garbage Ashley product, but I'm also out $300 on a useless warranty on this junk furniture. Might as well take a chance on Walmart, a yardsale, flea market, or a neighbor's garbage pile for better quality. My next action will be to contact their corporate office to see if anyone their cares about their customers once they have their money. My Husband and I made a big purchase last summer in Brookfield CT along with a $300 warranty promising to cover 100% of our order. Turns out after speaking with GBS about our outdoor table which completely rotted away in less than 11 mos, the store issued us the wrong plan which doesn't cover outside furniture. We are extremely frustrated as not only was half our order that day for outside furniture, no one from Ashley will return our calls. My husband has personally visited the store twice in the last month only to be told someone will be in touch. I cannot allow myself to ever return or recommend this business until this issue is resolved with some kind of acknowledgment and sincerity. BUYER BEWARE! I have had nothing but problems from Day 1 with this store (which used to be on Newtown Rd in Danbury). First off, was promised the extended 0% financing only to find out I did not purchase enough to qualify. Then, took over 3 WEEKS for delivery. In the beginning, I loved my set (The Shay). Over time, the bed started to become very rocky and unstable. I checked all the screws and everything is tight. Called the protection plan (which I spent $250 on, being assured anything that went wrong/broke/etc would be covered), to find out the bed frame is not covered in the stability sense - only cosmetic things. The store keeps denying this and keeps saying it should be covered, and the protection company keeps denying it. The store manager, Jeff, will not conference call them with me, and their liaison with the protection company, Jillian, lied and said she had spoken to them - when in fact, she never did, her associate, Jeremy had. Jillian has also stopped answering emails. Corporate says they can't do anything because it is a privately owned store by Osama AlJawaareh and Khaled AlQuadah who leave no contact information. Now, I have a bed that is ready to break, a useless protection plan, and nothing but aggravation. As soon as the government reopens, the Department of Consumer Affairs will be contacted. Brookfield, CT location is happy to take your money and sell you the world. Once the sale is over there is no accountability and follow up. I was told a specific date for delivery and it was blamed on CO-VID- totally understandable. They also said as a company they wait until your entire order is in and deliver it together and I was missing a piece to my couch- again, respectable and understandable. Fast forward, 3 months later they scheduled delivery, I had to take off of work, and it's missing half of my couch. If that was the case they could've delivered half the order months ago. The trust is lost, they are not holding themselves accountable blaming eachother and the manager Rob just hung up on me. I have a whole house to furnish AND I am personally in the profession of LUXURY retail for the #1 luxury brand in the world, this will not go unrecognized. Spend your money where not only is the quality there but for a company that can back it up with integrity and stand by the service and eachother. Absolutely disappointed in our experience at the Brookfield store. My husband and I walked in last Sunday and were greeted by a man behind a podium, we let him know we were looking for mattresses and would like to look around. We went to look around and stopped to look at some bedroom sets when the man from the podium comes to find us and informs us that he just wanted to let us know that the mattresses in the store cost "thousands of dollars" and didn't want us to "waste our time" which is why he was going to ask for our budget. I was so annoyed and disgusted by his behavior. We are a multi-racial couple and I feel this man assumed what we could afford without first showing us the inventory. I wish I could give this store minus 100 zero stars. We purchased a couch in Feb 2022, didn't receive it until April. After 2 weeks the cushion fabric looked like it was worn out. One by one the fabric on all the cushions looked the same and my couch looks like it's 10 years old. Now after very minimal use of this couch the back cushion zipper broke & all the stuffing was coming out. I put in a claim for the $500 warrantee we were talked into buying and they DENIED the claim saying its "normal wear & tear". The couch is only 5 MONTHS old! I also put in a complaint to the store and the technician had me send several pictures. They then sent be a box of stuffing and a new back cover. The said to contact them if I need assistance with stuffing it. Here I am stuffing a cushion for a couch that I paid $3,000 for and is only 5 months old. The ottoman that came with in is sunken in. It all looks like a piece of junk furniture. I wish I paid attention to the reviews. I wasted my money and this piece of junk isn't going to last 2 years. Customer Service is RUDE and unhelpful. So now its 30 days passed when they were given over $1,300.00 and still no beds. I am expected to accept the next date arbitrary date given as a delivery date but how is this supposed to appease me as the previous dates have never been honored. One star.... that's only because I finally got most of my furniture. It took three times to get my bedroom set, as the pieces took turns being broken. I ordered my dining set in October 2021 - I am still waiting for my buffet, which they told me would arrive in February 2022. I called last week and.... surprise!... it was still back ordered. They told me it might not come in until July..... imagine...! I take turns speaking with Jeff and Scott... kinda like good cop/bad cop. They always talk their way into saying nothing and promising to call me back........ not. Anyways.... I just want my money back, BUT, (big catch).... even though I am supposed to wait an eternity to get my buffet....... they will cancel (get this).... and charge me a 30% restocking fee. Worst furniture store I have EVER been to. Bought a couch last year from them, sat on it and the back main beam snapped in half . What's their stuff made out of? Cardboard!? Thank god for protection plan, still waiting on that to get fixed though.... go figure. Figured why not get the loveseat since I already dropped 1200 on the sofa and it's only a year old. Order the loveseat and they promise me a delivery by the end of the week. Call me back two days later to tell me they gave it to someone else. Quote the receptionist "I don't know... umm I guess the computers messed up." really? So when will I get my couch? "We don't know..." . Call back the following week... they tell me that it will be in stock at their warehouse June 24th. Call back a week later to ask about other warehouses around and she says that now it won't be in until closer to July. Did I also mention that I've been put on hold for 10 min with no one coming back? Or that I've been told someone will call you back - NO CALL BACKS EVER! If you order from Ashley order from a different location. This one doesn't seem to care about customer service or giving correct info and very incompetent people working if they are booking the same couch for several buyers. Wow! I just read the reviews and I am going through the exact same thing! They cancelled the scheduled delivery twice and didn't even show up the third time. Then they hold your money hostage saying reschedule the delivery or loose 30%. I put a stop on my credit card payment and I am now disputing the charges. They are no help at all. Tyler said "you have 2 choices, 30% or reschedule delivery". Rude and total scam! I am ready for court when everyone else is. This is no way to run a reputable business. These guys remind me of the movers scam, they hold your furniture hostage until you pay more. read more

Buyer beware, shop ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!!! My husband and I purchased a sectional sofa from the Brookfield, CT location at the end of July. 3 long months later we still don't have a complete sectional and it is not in the direction we asked for. We drew a drawing for the salesman, James Peterson, showing how we wanted our living room to look. The whole room was complete with the sofa in it, When James wrote the order, it appeared he had reversed the chaise and sofa. When we mentioned our concerns and showed him the drawing again, he replied "I know it looks weird but this is how I have to submit it. TRUST me, I do this every day, I know what you want". Reluctantly we signed off because of his insistence "that he did this every day". Fast forward to delivery day and the furniture was in fact incorrect as we feared. I called the store immediately and spoke to the store manager Rob Hoinsky who told me "this happens pretty frequently, just refuse the 2 pieces and we'll get it reorder correctly, I will call you back and let you know the status" I called the store 5 days later after hearing nothing back. Left another message. No call back. Went to the store in person and spoke to the original salesman James who basically told me very un-politely that it was our problem because we signed off on the drawing he told us to trust him on, and there was nothing they could do. He was so rude and condescending that another employee actually had to get him to walk away. I called again the next day and was told to call the general manager Jeff Fisher in the now closed Waterbury store. He was well versed in the problem through another employee and he then informed me that because we had signed off on the drawing there was nothing they could do. Even though Rob told me prior it would not be a big deal to fix it. After much back and forth he told me the best they could do was lower the restocking fee to 15% and we would have to also pay an additional delivery fee. We refused to pay anything additional as it was not our fault. We had no choice because we did exactly what Rob told us to do, refuse the delivery. We are forced to keep furniture that now blocks our staircase. We were then told we could pick up the furniture directly at the warehouse (45 minutes away). We in fact drove ourselves to get the 2 "wrong facing" pieces. The chaise was fine but the sofa had a huge hole in the bottom. The girl at the warehouse said they would order a new one. I then asked if they could just swap them both out so we could get the pieces facing the correct direction. Again was told we would have to pay a restocking fee. We again refused and went home with one piece. The girl at the warehouse said it would be delivered at no charge due to the inconvenience we had already been through. After not hearing anything for 10 days from anyone on a new delivery date, we called the store. They said "oh, it's been in for a while, nobody called you??, you can pick it up at the warehouse". The answer is no, nobody ever returned a call from the store, ever. And pick it up?? When I told them it was supposed to be delivered free of charge we finally got a delivery day of an entire week later. When the sofa was delivered it was damaged yet again and I refused it. Called for the store manager Rob again but he was not available and was told he would call back shortly. Shortly lasted 4 days until I had to call back. This was Saturday. He then told me the warehouse could have it fixed by Tuesday. Never heard anything until I called the following Saturday to see what was going on. We waited due to a death in the family and was not thinking about the couch. Spoke to Rob again and he said "oh yeah it;s ready, nobody called you?" I said "YOU were supposed to call me and yet again, never did". In fact throughout this entire nightmare, not one person ever returned our calls, ever. We always had to follow up ourselves. He then transferred me to a girl who scheduled our delivery for the following Wednesday, 10/28. A few hours later, my husband received a call to say that it was in (even though we thought it was a repair?), but we were NOT put on any delivery schedule! They scheduled us again for Wednesday. Wednesday morning I get a phone call from the warehouse saying the piece is damaged YET AGAIN, and they have to reorder a new one. At this point I'm speechless. I called the Brookfield store yet again at 11:00 am to speak to the manager. The girl that answered the phone, Julie, promised to have someone call me back. When I didn't hear back yet again, I personally went to the store at 4pm where I spoke to Rob directly. I told him at this point we felt they should just replace the 2 pieces that were wrong facing just out of good faith for all the torture they had put us through and make this right. He again refused. He called another manager, Sharif, who I could hear through the phone say "nope, not our problem". Now Nov 3. still no sofa. They are completely horrible. read more

I ordered furniture 3 months ago and was told it would be 6 yo 8 weeks max for delivery. Here we are 12 weeks later and when I call I keep getting the same run around. They have been paid and can not fulfill their order, and their CS dept acts like its not their issue. If you call their corporate office they tell you they DO NOT service the Connecticut locations and can not find your order in their system. I believe I have been more than patient with the false promises of delivery dates and lack of communication from the CS dept, when I asked for a return on my order I was told NO because it's been over 3 days since my order that they have NOT and can NOT fulfill has been placed. Now I'm sitting here waiting for a manager to call me back for the last 20 min and was told by their CS Dept they are working on getting me an updated ETA. read more

My wife and I was very excited when purchased our sectional couch at Ashley in Brookfield Ct. We made sure the furniture fitted in the basement, and went back to the store, paid for it in Cash that was my first mistake, my second mistake was I bought it at this Store. We waited 2 weeks and when the delivery truck came and the men tried every way possible to get it downstairs it just was not fitting! At that point we called the store and they told me there would be a 30% restocking fee! We were Not happy about that at all! Then the pandemic was taking over and now that things are semi back to normal after numerous phone calls and speaking with Rob the sales manager and also our salesman at the time and Tia the front desk girl who was constantly keeping us on hold once she knew it was us calling...he (Rob) keeps pushing and pushing us to pick out more furniture! Which in the meantime through all this we decided we don't want furniture in the basement! He kept pushing and pushing! Unbelievable! Absolutely horrific business in this place. I spent $4000 on furniture beginning of December and still don't have it. I have called every other day and a manager is going to call me back, but never has. Spoke to the corporate Ashley who was appalled by this privately owned Ashley. They were disgusted with Brookfield's handling of my situation. Brookfield Ashley won't let me cancel my order because it is after 72 hours of purchase but it's been 4 months and I HAVENT GOT MY ORDER. The other Ashley's don't have that garbage policy. I'm an ER nurse and I had to take a full day off of work (12 hours) to wait for a delivery that NEVER CAME and When I called they were so apologetic and refunded the shipping. Then the new delivery date (4 days later), which I had to take off again, came with only one piece from the whole order!! There was 7 pieces!! Nobody wanted to notify me that only the bed was coming!!?? Oh they were apologetic again but with no compensation and since then nothing but a dead end. 4 months ago I ordered the furniture. 1 month ago I got my bed. Avoid this place at all costs. Honestly the best experience I can say I had at this furniture store. I went just to browse for new dining sets and Joshua P. toured me around. He showed me all of my options, asked me to go into detail about my house so he can find the best fit and was able to point my direction into this beautiful dining set and the only reason why i didn't get it that same day was because of financial reasons. Don't buy from this store! My husband and I bought 2 sets of couches in Nov. 2019. No problems until our dog created some minor holes in one of our couches. I bought a warranty when we bought the couches (that costed somewhere around $600) so I thought that I would just call to schedule a repair appointment. However, it's been 2 months of constantly trying to reach out by phone,email, etc.. Each time I called I was lied to by the Brookfield manager, Jeff saying that it was up to the warranty company (montage) to honor our warranty. However when we reached out to this company, they claimed that Ashley never registered our warranty. This company (montage) says that they cannot honor our warranty and to give us our money back. We are now contacting lawyers to figure out this situation that could have been fixed easily. The manager also told us that "the damage was our fault" so there was nothing they could do about it. Which is exactly why we bought the warranty in the first place because we have a rambunctious puppy. Bottom line, don't buy from the Brookfield location and my apologies if you happen to encounter their manager called "Jeff". read more

dont usually write reviews for any business, but I had such a bad experience today.. I bought a sleeping sofa almost 2 years ago with the 5 years extended warranty. We never used the bed part of it and when I finally got to use it, it broke badly. I filed the claim with the insurance company GBS, very rude people, they sent the technicians to look at it and try to repair it. They said they were unable to fix it and left. They let me with the sofa, open because they couldn't close it, for 4 months. When they finally agreed to replace the sofa I Told by GBS rep that I need to get rid of it my self. So I have someone to come and close it for me. I npaid $200 to this guy to have this thing fixed. Now Ashley is telling me that in order for them to replace it they have to take the old one but they will no reimburse me for money I paid to have it closed. After they told me I need to figure out my self how to get rid off the old one.. this is not the first time and the only article I have purchased at Ashley but will definitely be the last one. I'm really sorry because I liked their furniture and most of the employees at my.local store are very professional and friendly. :( read more

This is a culmination of our experience from start to finish: 11/20/18....Our experience was great! We went to the Brookfield store and met Jonathan, the saleman, who was not pushy at all. We told him what we were looking for and he led us to different parts of the store and shared a wealth of information about the pieces.Jonathan was extremely knowledgeable and made recommendations based on our lifestyle. 11/29/18: My husband called today to get information as to delivery of our couches. They told him that we should have received a call....NO CALL! (why would we call them if we received a call) Anyway, they did some digging and said that our delivery would be on 12/5/18 between 8a-8p. Seriously...a 12 hour time frame. 12/4/18: My husband called the store again to double check the status because we hadn't received any confirmation. The employee stated that there was a fire at the West Haven Warehouse and that our delivery was being rescheduled for 12/15/18 and that we should have received a call. Something is wrong here....we are NOT getting calls! He called me at work and I called them. 12/4/18: MY TURN! I called the Brookfield store and asked for our salesman, Jonathan. He was busy with a customer so I spoke to a young man who told me the same information. There was a warehouse fire, they didn't want us getting furniture that smelled like smoke and the delivery was 12/15. He went onto say that calls were made from the warehouse. I told him I did not get a call and had I then I wouldn't be calling for information. I went onto ask more questions and checked on my phone number that they had. I asked why they couldn't get the furniture from another warehouse and I was told because it comes from the West Haven store (I get it....but why not get us our furniture). He said we have a lot of unhappy customers right now and we are trying our best to keep everyone happy and continued on that topic. I asked about the fire again and he said "I am telling you the truth about the fire"...so of course I said "Are you insinuating that I am calling you a liar?" He stopped right there and I went onto say. I need a call when they are delivering...worst follow through after a sale EVER! I dropped the stars to a 3 for the snarky attitude and for no phone calls. I will update as I receive more information. ( I googled Ashley Home Store West Haven Warehouse fire and came up with nothing for 11/2018 however there was a fire next door) 12/9/2018: Received a call from the salesman. One part of our two part order would be in on the 17th. Delivery could be for the 19th or on the weekend. I chose the weekend because what's three more days after waiting a month! He apologized for the inconvenience and offered a $100 GC. A credit of the delivery fee would have been nice....same amount of money. 12/19/18: Holy cow - our sofa and loveseat finally arrived! The company that was hired to deliver was very pleasant and thorough. The rest of this review is a compilation of days and issues that occurred over the next month. We STILL have not received the $100 credit that we were told we would receive and it is now a month later. Oh they send it, no they don't....no one could get their stories straight. We were told that we could have the ottoman floor model by another salesman for the credit GC and they would throw in the rest. WHAT A JOKE! That ottoman on the floor was $209.00. I called and spoke to Michael and he stated that the ottoman was on backorder and it would be in between January 14 and 21. I tell him we will be down to pick it up, he tells me they do not do that anymore and it has to be delivered. On January 14 I call the store. NOT in...surprise! My husband goes to the store where he meets Jeffrey, the new store manager. They check the computer and there is NO ORDER in the computer. Jeffrey stated that there was no way that we can have the ottoman for $209 because it's $400 item. It was $209 in November, $400 in early January, $380 on January 22. I would not recommend this store. It was great being treated like we were idiots....for whatever reason they could not give us a straight answer and the lies just snowballed. One Star is generous. Stay far away because no one seems to know what anyone else is doing there. Next is to write a letter to the president of the company because it was a pretty stressful experience. Do yourself a favor and please stay away from this store as well as the company in general. Their customer service has been noting but terrible, as a customer you expect to be treated with respect and that is not the case with this place. The first initial purchase itself is harmless till you have to wait for delivery. I was told a certain date by Jillian the manager and end up finding out that it will not be till another 2 weeks on top of expected delivery time and I find this out 2 days before its going to be delivered. I call and herself as well as other managers are unable to expedite the process even though its past the expected delivery date. You wait that additional time and expect this furniture to be top notch since they now have had a month and 2 weeks to now build. Upon receiving check the furniture well, after 6 weeks they had to build a sleeper sofa it came with all the stitching on the seams having excess thread hanging all over. To put the icing on the cake, upon removing couch cushions to discover a handful of staples protruding out along the back side of the couch, if this was not discovered a pet, child or another person could have been seriously hurt. I spoke with the Manager Jillian who was in discussion with the owners, in which they took NO responsibility or action about any of this. Best that was able to be done was the offering of a in-store gift card to buy my happiness. This company takes no pride or concern in anything that they do or make. Every step of the process has been nothing but a headache, trying to get a hold of Jillian the manager is remotely impossible since she is never given messages and constantly ignores my calls.
