Ashley shot my wedding at the Carondelet House in LA last month. I cannot recommend her services enough. She was professional, personable, nonintrusive, and took amazing photos. She captured every moment that I wanted, and really seemed to understand what style worked best for us. We are not into very posed, cheesy pictures, so we requested more candid photos. She listened, and delivered a collection of photos of us with our family and friends, looking natural and relaxed. She also sent us FORTY gorgeous "sneak peak" photos the day after our wedding to send us off on our honeymoon. That is unheard of! Ashley just did the photos for our recent beach wedding, and she did the most AMAZING job. From the very get go she was on top of things. I emailed her an inquiry, and she got back right away. We customized our package according to our needs, and the contract was put together within a day! She did her research through a Skype interview with us (which was great, since we were SO busy), and truly listened to what we were looking for from our photographs. When the day came, the weather was fairly cloudy, which thankfully made for great light. For me, hiring a great photographer for both engagement photos and my wedding was a priority. Ashley Dang came recommended by our wedding event manager. I inquired with about ten different photographers, and Ashley was the only one who was willing to cater a photography package to what I needed. Literally, all the others insisted that we go with their planned photo packages. Her portfolio of photos is beautiful, and we knew we wanted her to be our photographer when she asked that we meet her so that she could get to know us as a couple to better capture our wedding. Ashley, shot our engagement photos along with her second photographer, Nelly, who would also be shooting our wedding. This shoot not only provided us with beautiful photos for our wedding website, Christmas cards, and social media profiles, it allowed Ashley and Nelly to play around creatively with us in preparation for our wedding. After another photographer fell through, I found Ashley Dang on Yelp and looked through her portfolio. Her pictures were dreamy and romantic, and exactly what I was wanted for my engagement photos. After being burned by the other photographer, I told Ashley right away that I needed someone who would keep in contact with me. She assured me that she would, and said she was free on the day I needed her. Not long after, I needed to reschedule the shoot and was impressed by her quick responses. She really worked with me to get everything settled for the new date. The night before, I was worried about the gloomy weather and the threat of rain, and wrote a frantic email to her. When I woke up, I found a calm, reassuring response that the weather would be just fine, but if I wanted, we could reschedule. We decided to go ahead as planned, and the experience with Ashley was wonderful. She was friendly, open to ideas, and very helpful with the poses. My fiance felt very comfortable, and when it was over, remarked that he had been very nervous that he was going to ruin the pictures, but Ashley really put him at ease. When looking for a photographer sometimes its difficult understand the nuances that makes a great photographer. As a designer myself, I immediately could tell looking at Ashley's photos that she is well experienced, talented and has the eye for great photos. She is able to work with natural lighting extremely well, knew exactly what backgrounds would work, has great compositions, uses depth of field appropriately and re/positioned her subjects perfectly to make the photos work. She gives great advice on how to plan your timeline and general advice on weddings. She's very professional while still personable and was well liked by our guests. we had out maternity and newborn session with Ashley and we LOVED her! My hubby and I were so happy with the results from both sessions! For the maternity shoot, she made us feel real comfy in front of the camera and even with my big belly, she really captured my pregnancy glow :) Then came the newborn session where she blew my mind with the way she handled our lil baby! She came to our home and brought some materials of her own for the shoot. She was so good with my baby and was able to position her to get great photos. When we first got engaged in 2013, we were super excited! But the idea of planning a wedding, finding vendors, and wedding details seemed so daunting.
