A mixed use concept is currently under construction with a luxury multi-story apartment building, Woodfield Ashley Landing with self-contained central parking garage featuring upscale retail on the ground level with residences above. The entire site is being transformed with green space, dining/restaurants, and new infrastructure to include new streets lined with multi-story residential buildings having retail spaces on the ground level.

MOD Pizza is a fairly new restaurant in this shopping center, along with old favorites like Marble Slab and Moe's. The shopping center is also very well maintained with new landscaping and plenty of parking. The only drawback to Westwood Plaza is that making a left turn onto Sam Rittenburg Blvd. is nearly impossible, and traffic can be rough. I always make a right turn leaving the shopping center and turn around later, or exit behind the building onto Ashley River Rd.
