This is a good to go. Food is great and definitely a small business to support too. Unfortunately, they are only open on weekends. Bummer!

Our host patiently answered questions as a friend and I discussed our options for lunch We ordered at the counter looking into the kitchen, where we could see the food preparation. Our shared meal was two empanadas and two pupusas. (See picture). The order was called out when it was ready. We got a few spoonfuls of green and red sauces and marinated vegetables, and then carried everything to our table. We started on the pupusas. These were covered with shredded lettuce, grated cheese and a drizzle of white sauce. Cooked on the griddle, the masa (dough) surrounds your choice of cheese; cheese and meat; or cheese, meat and bean filling. The cheese and shredded meat filling was mild, soft and subtly flavored -- quite nice. The empanadas were fried, giving a crispy outside layer over soft interior dough. It was a good amount of meat and cheese filling with the beef empanada more flavorful than its shredded chicken cousin. I think the spicy heat of the the condiment sauces provided some "kick" and balance to the mild flavor of the lettuce and grated cheese layered over this dish. While I did not see prices posted, I thought the prices were reasonable when we settled our bill. There was a $6 minimum to use a credit card. Overall it was a tasty meal and pleasant experience.

PUPUSAS!!!! This place is tucked behind a grocery store off State St. and not the easiest to find…read moreif you haven't been there already. The entrance is on the side of the building and you walk into a very unassuming space and order at the counter. The pupusas de queso are my favorite with the lorocco and frijoles coming in 2nd and 3rd. Be sure to get the curtido (slaw) that accompanies them. It really make the flavors pop! With a little hot sauce or salsa, these make a great meal and definitely filling! Be sure to get some horchata to drink!

This place is so, so great! We've come here a couple of times, and if it was a little closer to us…read moreover in Etown we'd be here way more often. The first time we came here we were with a big group wanting to try another restaurant recommended to one of my husband's brothers. The line was huge for the other place, so we were left starving and scouring for something new. This was the best thing that could've happened to us because it led us here. We were able to be seated, having to move some tables around to get all of us together. Now to the food: so so so delicious. I got the Molcajete La Unica and everyone was looking at it (even though everyone's food was still great!). The portion was super generous and the presentation was impressive. The pupusas are also really yummy. What a treat to have this amazing Salvadorian food near us! Everyone left very happy with their meals. Overall it was an amazing experience! I'd highly recommend it to anyone in the area, and even if you're not in the area it's worth the trip!

A very friendly staff, clean environment, reasonable prices and great food…read more One of our friends had the Seven Seas soup, it was amazing and a generous portion. The Mexican Pollo was just perfect. The right amount of heat and perfectly seasoned. Someone in our group had a T-bone steak and he was very pleased. Cooked to perfection. Great place and location with plenty parking and easy access.
