So... I had a strange experience here. I had a bad cold that turned into a sinus infection about a…read moremonth and a half ago. Came here for the first time to be seen by someone to get drugs for it (this isn't the first time... I get sinus infections every time I get a cold. Isn't that so awesome?) and the lady at the front desk was really nice. She explained what I needed to fill out and what I could skip since I was a new patient. After doing that I had to wait only a few minutes until a doctor came out (I think his name was Oscar... he was seriously the nicest doctor ever) and he checked my vitals and of course asked me all the questions I had to answer on the form so I got to repeat everything I filled out. Why even fill out a form? Anyway. I noticed they asked weird questions about depression and such and of course according to my answers I'm severely depressed but he didn't even bat an eyelash he just went on. Like... Hello I'm basically suicidal and you're not asking me about it??? Alright then. So after that he told me he was going to let my actual doctor know I was here, and left the room. Waited a solid ten minutes (I got bored so I was looking through the drawers and shit... yeah I'm actually a five year old) and he finally came in. It was Dr. Eckert, I believe. And no, I don't really remember who it was because I was sick and didn't care, but after researching I discovered that he's the only male doctor in this place, so it had to be him. I judged right off the bat that he was a slightly condescending hippie dude with long sort of unkempt hair in a loose pony tail wearing those weird hiking shoe sandal things and cargo pants. He of course asked me why I was there and I told him, and he asked me why I THINK I have a sinus infection. Well, I get them a few times a year for no real reason (I don't get allergies), and I have all the typical symptoms of bad congestion and blowing bright green snot out every five minutes (joy). So he is poking and looking up my nose, in my ears, taking temperatures, etc. He figured out that certain parts of my face were really overly tender and hurt badly when he poked there so he just prescribed me something (Don't know what it was either. Didn't and still don't care) which ended up not doing a single thing to help my infection. Usually I get amoxicillin but it definitely was not that. Also, when I lived in Eugene for over a decade, someone from the offices of Oregon Medical Group would call me and ask if I was feeling better or if the meds helped. Nobody called me here. Thought that was odd, too. Another thing, I have a weird node on my face that is strange and bumpy (right next to my nose, but only on one side) and I can feel it when I touch my face, cause it sort of sticks out. Hasn't always been there, maybe a couple years. I'm not one of those people who will go to a doctor whenever something is off, so I just didn't ever mention it, but since I was here I figured I would bring it up. I explained it and he literally didn't even look up from the computer and just says "It's probably just a node you're feeling." And I asked, "Well, you don't want to feel it? It hasn't always been there and it is really weird to me." And he just looks over and goes, "You care, but I don't. Those types of things are never a huge deal." What the hell? K well if I have cancer in my face or something else ridiculous, I'm gonna call you up and say mean things. Next time I come here, I think I might ask for a different primary doctor. He was way too weird and condescending towards me.
