They state that if you ask for inspections on your new build, which they recommend you do, they will provide them and review them with you. But they will not, in fact they will lie to you about the inspections. If you select a finish or material that they layer cannot provide they will substitute whatever they want without asking you, the buyer. Their co tract states they cannot do that, but they will. Their contract states that the purchaser is protected, if Britton fails to comply with the contract they will refund all monies. But when the purchaser calls in them for failure to perform, they will lie and tell you they do not refund money in any circumstance. Especially do not buy in Star Trail in Prosper. Britton Homes is by far the best contractor we have ever worked with and will gladly use them again for any future needs.

Both John S. and Clint K. were easy to work with during the estimate phase and provided an approximate start month which they stuck too once the contract was signed. All phases of the construction were done efficiently and fluidly. There was very little downtime in between trades and they found ways to keep progress through a New England winter. The employees of Northwoods were all skilled, courteous, and clean. They performed some amazing tile and carpentry work and all the other subcontractor trades they brought in, from the framers to the plasterers, painters, plumber, electrician, insulation, landscape/hardscaping, etc. were all exceptional. Their project superintendent, John R, is amazing at his job and has a strong command of schedule and coordinating the trades as needed. A few small bumps along the way were all handled quickly and fairly. The finished product is amazing, and we couldn't have been happier with the end result. We would highly recommend Northwoods Builder for any size house project.

We do not recommend AG Reliable Remodeling for any work from the simplest remodel to an addition…read more We had an addition put on our house by them. Allen Grome had a lack of communication and follow through after he got the job. There were numerous mistakes and issues, from structural mistakes to poor scheduling to not ordering required supplies in a timely manner - which all lead to delays and overages - there were too many issues to put into this review. However, pictures don't lie. So take a look at the quality of their work and decide for yourself. Additionally, their contracts are very vague and high level, they are not detailed, so there is plausible deniability on their part. Buyer beware! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In response to the comment by AG Remodeling, Allen Grome: In his response to our review, he goes on about how the inspections passed, and how much scheduling there was but he doesn't acknowledge or accept responsibility for the mistakes, problems and poor quality of the finish work. This is an especially important point, because when you spend a lot of money on your home, you want it to look beautiful and be done right. I don't know why AG Remodeling would be surprised at the low rating they received from us, they shouldn't have been. We had many discussions during the course of the project and Allen knew we were not happy. We consistently asked for more communication throughout the project, but rarely got it. The pictures that we attached to the review were accurately documented at the end of the project. The wall corners that are not square, the mirrors that are not straight or square, the knicked baseboard that was painted and left in place and the poorly joined baseboards would never be considered "punch list items". These are examples of a crew that doesn't put in the effort to properly do a quality job the first time around. If they had come back to correct them at the end of the project, they would've had to tear up our house again, and we had serious concerns whether it would ever be done right. We had several conversations with Allen about these issues and he never once acknowledged any of our concerns. We gave them one opportunity to fix the "punch list items", and the picture of how they filled in the nail holes was a result of "nail holes that were not filled". They wanted to sand the joined baseboard molding in order to make it look better, more even. We insisted that it be replaced. At that point, we lost confidence in their ability to properly fix the "punch list items" and told them to just leave as we were fed up. This was also told to Allen, so again, the review shouldn't have been a surprise.

Lisa and her team renovated our unfinished, concrete-slab of a basement into a great hang-out…read morespot. It was on budget, on time, and they were always responsive to our concerns. We appreciated that Lisa had the creativity to make suggestions we hadn't thought of - even ones that would save us money! For instance, that we should use mirrored closet doors instead of doing a closet space and then separately installing mirrors, which would have cost us more. She patiently went through the different materials, which are all basement-specific to prevent mold, gave us a copy of the plan, and was very responsive by phone and text. Every person from her team who we met was friendly and did good work, paying attention to detail, making sure they cleaned up after themselves. If we wanted more information, it was really easy to call or text Lisa or our project manager, Joel. On the final inspection, Joel caught some things that we hadn't even caught, and he made sure it was fixed the next week. That spoke volumes to us, because they weren't going to be paid until they finished, and here he was pointing out things that he wanted to make sure they fixed, which delayed their getting paid! As to the first reviewer's review -- when I first contacted Lisa, I was also suspicious by the number of questions. But she's just trying to get a full idea of what you want so she can get you a close-enough quote on the phone, and you can both determine whether it's worth your time (and hers) for her to drive out to your house. But don't let that quote necessarily scare you - ours ended up being lower once she came and was able to see and measure out the space in person, because I am bad at estimating square footage and forgot some details (like that the ceiling was already done previously). And yeah, there will probably be a wait, but there was a wait with all of her competitors too. Lisa actually slotted us in earlier when she had another client delay their project, which we appreciated! And don't be afraid to shop around -- Lisa is fair, she'll tell you about her competitors, and she was totally open about giving us their names and we did actually follow up with them and got quotes too. In the end, what made us go with Lisa and her team were that we could tell that they were knowledgeable, their basement-specific materials fit our aesthetics much better, but mostly importantly they had SO MANY references -- we contacted a lot of them and they were ALL pleased and had nothing but good reports, whereas her competitors' references did give us reason to hesitate (word of advice: definitely ask about payment structures at each contractor, because it makes a difference to how well they finish the project for you). I'm happy to have supported a woman-run business, and we are really pleased with how our basement turned out.

I got fed up with my current contractor, so I found this business by googling. I thought, "Great! A woman owned business!! I don't have to deal with arrogant straight men who talk down to me about construction." So I called her to see if I could get them to look at my property to give an estimate. A woman answered. I assumed she was the owner since she seemed very invested and asked me very detailed questions about the project. I didn't mind at first because I figured she just wanted more information as to give me a proper quote. But then at the end, she said to me, "Well...I don't know. We're pretty busy right now. We're booking into April (5 months away). I could have him call you if something comes up." First of all, why are you having "him" call me to discuss business like it's 1957 if this is a woman owned and operated establishment?? Secondly, don't waste my time by asking me a bunch of questions like a pathetic first date if you're not going to start work for 5 months. And, now instead of dealing with some arrogant straight man, I had to deal with an arrogant straight woman, or I assumed she's straight because she had one of those annoying, high pitched kindergarten teacher voices... This place is ridiculously arrogant and shady. This proud Gaysian will take his proud money and spend it on a true minority owned business!

I got quotes from about 10 contractors. It would have cost nearly $100K to "perfectly" finish the basement. It would have involved some kind of heroic measures, like raising the house, excavating and pouring an entirely new foundation, and/or completely redoing all the plumbing. This was beyond our budget. However, with some compromises and creative problem solving, Jeff and his crew were able to build out the space I wanted on time, and on budget... for around $20K. (I can even stand upright in it. Well, at least the important parts.) During the process, Jeff was good about staying in communication. A year later, I'm still happy with the result. I recommend Jeff strongly.
