I've recently learned of the Aldi aisle of limited time finds so I checked that out and wasn't disappointed. Found some cute lawn decor and an outdoor game set. Despite it being a busy Saturday the line moved quickly. I'd still rather patronize the smaller stores first but I do love some of the Aldi brand things.

There are many items that you can't get at other grocery stores in the area, which makes this a must stop if you like to cook. I always get the old fashioned hoagie and I think it's the best hoagie that I've ever had and I've been around.

I called a family who I know are attached to their phones looking for requests. Nobody picked up. I text them, "Nobody picks up their phones ... No Wegmans for you!" My phone then blew up! I came home with fresh pineapple, chocolate chip & double chocolate muffins, AND ultimate chocolate chip cookies. There is so much to see, the variety of products , the freshness of seafood, meat and produce ... I spent two hours making selections. I was in my happy place. The apple doesn't fall from the tree. Stopped at my parents on the way home to share my bounty ... it was childlike wonder as I opened the 3 coolers and we oohed and aahed ... priceless.

I told the employee who was monitoring the area and she got Roxanne, the floor manager of the day. Roxanne said that this was my problem and I'd have to call Walmart Tech Support. What the hell? My problem. Then she told me that I had not paid for the $35 bag of dog food and to pay again, which I did. I got to my truck and called my credit card company. They confirmed that I had paid twice. I went back in the store with the credit card agent on the phone. I found Roxanne and told her she could speak with them to confirm that I had paid twice. She declined and took off running across the store, back to the service desk. I followed her and told her that I would dispute the charges. She then said that she'd give my $35 back via a refund. When I called to speak with the manager to report what had happened Roxanne got on the line and pretended to be her own manager. What?! I hung up on her and called again. This time I got someone above Roxanne who said that she would be pulled into an office for a retraining meeting today. The manager was apologetic and seemed aghast by what i relayed to him. I have shopped at this store in Watkins Glen for 15 years and have never had a problem. This was bad. This Roxanne person needs to be retrained or fired. All of this was unnecessary. That's what I get for telling an employee that their machine wasn't working and was sending electronic receipts to the worng customer. Leaves a bad taste in one's mouth!!

I've bought fresh bagels & they get mold on them in about 3 days. I think they're a bit expensive too. But there's only 2 grocery stores in town. So if you're not planning to use or freeze your food as soon as you go home you might want to go in the other store. For meat I suggest you go to the other store their meats are fresh so is their milk They gave Boars Heads lunch meat & I like that.
