I emailed the lady at svs group the next day apologizing, but that it wasn't a fit for me. She then emailed me to tell me that they were going to deduct the fee for the drug screening from my pay because I didn't complete a week. I don't recall signing anything stating that I would have to pay back anything if I quit prior to a week. With that being said I have tried to communicate with the lady to see where it states that they can legally charge me and no response yet. So basically I worked a day for free. It's not the money that I'm worried about it's the principle behind the shadiness. However, when I was first applying my emails were answered very quickly. Steer clear if you can.

I received a call back from Penny of Ascot Staffing, they must have received my inforation from one of the online job search engines. I scheduled an interview which also consisted of an assessment of my skills, I did plenty of these, but Ascot was the best agency by far with follow up! I was so impressed with how thorough Penny was. I felt very comfortable and at ease during the interview. Within a week of meeting Penny she had found me an administrative job with Kaiser. I was hired into the Kaiser family! I am so grateful to Penny and all of the Ascot staff for all of their hard work. I owe everything to them! They are such a wonderful group to work with! My experience with Ascot Staffing was an extreme disappointment. After being contacted by an Ascot…read moreemployee, we planned for me to take some assessment tests and fill out some paperwork. I told this person I could have all completed and ready the next day. However, it took longer than I had anticipated, but once complete, I sent all required information and documents, and completed assessments. In the interim, we were speaking on the phone, and they were describing a position they were offering me. I told them yes, this sounds like a great job and said I would like it, and they asked if I were available to start the next day. I said absolutely. I was excited, and looked forward to it, but I needed to end the call and asked if I could call back in 30 minutes because I was in a vehicle at the time and couldn't hear well and I wanted to to be able to focus on our conversation. I wasn't able to call until 45 minutes later. When I called back they expressed they were not pleased with me calling 15 minutes later than I said I would, and I was then told to forget it, that they didn't want to work with me after all because I was late in getting the tests and paperwork to them, and late calling back. I did apologize, and assured them that I would do the job well and that they wouldn't be disappointed that they sent me, but they wouldn't give it a chance. To just dismiss me and rescind the opportunity for the position they offered, and after taking all the assessments was such a disappointment and I felt they didn't even give it a chance. It was very cold, and premature. I can understand the importance of timing, but this didn't warrant such an action as to rescind the job offer. I am sure this is not a common issue, and that Ascot Staffing is a good company with pleasant, experienced personnel, but I do wish they would have at least given me the opportunity to do a great job as I am confident I would have.
