Worst company ever to deal with. I never go through the trouble to write negative reviews but I made it a point to this time. They send out used items that are claimed as new and in top of that, they are defective and don't work! I called some guys named clad and he was the rudest person to speak with, he actually hung up on me when I asked why I got a used item that doesn't even work! Then to get a replacement they made me may for a new board and 30$ in shipping. When I sent them the board back they refused to give me a refund!!!! Read the small print!!! For some of their merchandise, there is 1 line below the item description in blue text that says, "These units are Manufacturer Refurbished and have minor scuffs and scratches, but are fully operational and function as intended". Unlike most respectable companies, the product name does not say "(Refurbished)". Upon buying my daughters laptop for her 17th birthday, my wife and I wrapped it and it sat for 1 1/2 months until her birthday. When she opened it, we were surprised to find that it was not new as we thought, and after reading the small print online, we realized just what an incredibly dishonest company Ascendtech is. There were no minor scuffs and scratches on the laptop. Instead there were horrible scratches and 1 deep gouge near the battery of the laptop. There were no manuals, no cds, no factory stickers... nothing. It came with the power cord and that was it. Also, the touchpad did not work correctly. There were no click functions for the touchpad, and the mouse just kept moving erratically across the screen. After 3 hours of troubleshooting, I realized that not only had the driver for the touchpad not been updated, but it was the completely incorrect driver altogether. The touchpad was a Synaptics touchpad, and the driver was a generic driver that wasn't even for the correct operating system. Upon e-mailing the company to try to get a RMA# so I could return the laptop for a full refund, the person that e-mailed me back stuck to his guns about their return policy. It's only 30 days, so if you do buy something as a gift from this company, open it right away to make sure you got what you paid for. In the end, I got a laptop for my daughters 17 birthday that absolutely was not fully operational and functional (until I fixed it) as advertised, and there were much more than minor scuffs and scratches. I will not EVER do business with this company again due to their dishonesty about the products they sell. I would highly advise any other prospective customers to look elsewhere as well. read more

I ordered a laptop replacement keyboard. It arrived in a bubble-wrap envelope with a "Do not bend" label and a couple of short pieces of cardboard which collectively were grossly inadequate for protecting the keyboard. The mailman stuffed it into my mailbox because the "Do not bend" label on the envelope was probably obscured by a magazine and other junk mail on top of it in the pile. The sides of the envelope were folded up along the length of the keyboard, which shouldn't have been a problem. However, the keyboard itself was bent into a hockey stick somewhere along the way. The couple of pieces of additional cardboad in the envelope were about 1/3 the length of the keyboard, both stacked on one side and totally useless for protecting it. Furthermore, the product page on the web site does not indicate that the part is other than new and in OEM packaging. The keyboard was in an anti-static bag with a broken seal and a tear in the bag. I was able to gently bend the keyboard back close enough to flat to install it and it worked, so I avoided having to do an RMA dance to get to use my laptop properly again. I wish I had thought to look for the other review here before purchasing from AscendTech over the web. Caveat emptor. read more

Ascendtech.us Order 382155 Confirmation Will never do business with this company again. They sent a computer that was broken from the get-go. I had to work on it many times and call the company for help, and all they would offer was how to walk me through messing with cables and settings instead of offering to replace it. After missing the 30 day return period, I called in and they told me some garbage about "soup of the day", meaning someone ends up getting used/broken/out of warranty parts. I was that someone. Company is a bunch of scam artists who do not test their products completely and thoroughly. They sell broken electronics to people in hopes they won't come across the issues until the warranty is up, that is if they even provide one for it. If you need your items in a timely manner do NOT choose these guys. I placed an order on Sat for a motherboard it is now WED and the order has NOT shipped i called and the person said if i want it expedited that would cost another 9.99 Really 9.99 to do your job in a timely manner. Now we are paying people not to be lazy. Lets analyze this i order 1 count em 1 motherboard and it takes 3 days (from monday) to put a label on it. As for the $9.99 fee---- is the whole flippin reason why ppl shop online to get stuff cheaper if thats the case let do the math This product sells for 49.00 - the one i ordered they had it listed for 28.99 - cool i save 20.01 (good for me yay) the shipping cost was 12.00 - at least i saved some money 8.01 not much but ill take it so total savings of 8.01 ok if i were to get it shipped the same day add 10.00 i would be better of getting it locally with a loss of -1.98 To sum it up the savings at ascend tech not really savings if you need the product within 2 weeks I will NOT bring i business to them again. read more

AscendTech, Inc. is THE worst company to deal with. They are dishonest and care nothing about their customers. I literally have 53 emails from them saying that they would be helping resolve an order for product that arrived damaged. However, they NEVER fixed the problem ... costing me both a couple of weeks not to mention a few hundred dollars. I instead took my business over to TigerDirect.com without ever experiencing a SINGLE problem. I am sooo happy with them. You will wait days before they might contact you to tell you that they don't actually have the part in stock and you will be refunded as soon as their accounting department gets your paperwork. Bought a motherboard and CPU from these Ascendtech.com. According to the website, both were new, retail items, not listed as used or OEM. When I got the order in, the motherboard was opened, nothing but the motherboard in the box, no driver CD, no manual, no cables or adapters, and it was in a Foxconn box without any description or part number about what was inside, not even a bar code from the manufacturer was present. (took pic's of this) I had ordered a new INTEL motherboard, they didn't send me one. I checked the CPU, it was not new and was not retail, but OEM type which is packed in a simple plastic holder/case. According to their website it should have been new retail product, but instead was scratched and used, with dried, caked on dielectric grease stuck in the CPU still. I called them up, talked to Steve. He quickly got defensive, started making all kinds of crazy stuff up about the brand and socketing and refused to accept that the website stated "Manufacturer: Intel"... and hung up on me when I refused to accept his bum rush lies. I don't take to getting bullied like that, I have been building computers on my own for 14 years. I called right back, talked to supervisor "Val"... who actually admitted over the phone that they don't have the CPU in stock, or the Intel motherboard they accepted my money for, and he offered to send me a return label. These folks knew that they were sending me bogus parts before they even accepted my PayPal payment. Did further research on the company, turns out they have a habit of doing this if they can't bluff the consumer into keeping their junk. Filed Dispute with Paypal. It took Paypal less than 24 hours to find in my favor. Now it's up to me to return this stuff at my expense to Ascendtech before I can get my money back ("stuff" I never ordered to begin with). They never filled my order, attempted to deceive me by sending me bogus, used parts, and now stick me with shipping charges to return the junk they sent me back to them. They defrauded me by advertising a new, name brand product, even to the point that they admitted they cannot send me the Intel Retail products that they advertise on their web site. I have screen shots of their site saved just in case they try to deny my claims that show what I said is true. The behavior this company demonstrated is not uncommon. After I got their shipment 18 Oct, 2013, I did further research. They have multiple claims on this type of problem, charging consumers for one thing, sending them another, and if the consumer doesn't keep it, they make them pay shipping to return the product which the consumer never ordered, which is an injury to the consumer for the bad conduct of this company in Ohio. Ascendtech has tremendously helped me and my company. One of my industry friends has used them for spare parts and recommended them as a cost-efficient service provider. We are a retail store and originally I purchased 2 PC systems - one server and another office PC. Being not very technical myself, I had to rely on their professional advice on how the systems need to be built for our needs. I basically, was looking for something powerful enough to support our retail applications as well as the cameras, without breaking the budget. The PCs have been working without a single problem (knock on wood) for almost 3 years now. In the beginning we had a small problem with the server but it was most likely due to my computer-illiteracy and it was an easy fix over the phone. Also, we have ended up buying all the accessories, extended warranty and battery back-ups from them per their recommendation and SO glad we did because we have had several power outages in the past year. I have worked with several male associates in Technical Support and they were very helpful. I could not be more thankful for both the products and service received. Highly recommended! read more
