Great location if you're visiting and staying downtown. I wish there would always be a dispensary within walking distance of any hotel where I'm staying. There's just no sense in driving in an unfamiliar area to get ganja. Busy during the week when office workers really shouldn't be shopping for the pernicious weed, however I shouldn't judge because where they work may necessitate mother nature to get through the afternoon. Good selection, good pricing, pleasant interior, friendly workers. Like all dispensaries, there will be added fees and taxes so you'll end up paying more than you thought. Ascend has a app now you can download in the play store. It says you get free 300 bonus points for downloading the app. It takes like 5 days to get your 300 bonus points. I went into ascend the other day and tried using my points. I had 445 points the lady said I could only use 250 points which was a 20 dollars off or something I still had another 250 plus points I could use. They charge an undisclosed unadvertised fee for swiping your card. The website and numerous text messages for pickup times and appointments never mentions this. There is an ATM on site but again it charges a routine $3 fee as well. Cash is king here and do know they will round up your order total to the nearest whole dollar but they'll give you back the difference in cash. This location is downtown and doesn't require a shuttle with a couple of quickie meters in front but there's also a men's shelter next door which isn't the most pleasant view nor does the two weaponless security guards Give me Safety and security happy feelings. Walk up with a mask and appointment guess what? Remove the mask and smile for the camera. Then walk down the hall to another area where a lady will double check your appointment with your ID and then point you to walk some more. These guys standing around near the seated medical patrons are the nicest ones and they'll point you to the rec area. Once in line things appear clean and Tidy. We recently purchased six boxes of the Incredibles Cherry Chocolate bars because we like the brand and they were on sale. Problem being there was no THC in the bars. The box says 100mg THC and 100 MG CDB. Label says 90 mg of each. I can't tell if there was CDB in the product, but there was NO THC. Although the product was on sale, it was still way too expensive for a simple chocolate bar. We will not be purchasing anything from this place again. read more

All the staff are great and super knowledgeable. Over the past few years of being a medical patient, these guys have ALWAYS made sure that I was taken care of properly. The curbside service (for med patients) is phenomenal, and the only trouble I have ever had at this location is navigating through the occasional construction and events that go on downtown every now and then. It can definitely be pricey if you are not a medical patient, but they are more than happy to help you get your card! They also give med patients an extra 10% off of every order which is really nice! read more

I tell you what boys I don't know if it's the sun making everyone happy but I use to dread going to Springfield. However, today every single encounter I had in that town was great. Even when I swung in the smoke shack on the way and a big ole monster was behind the counter yet even he was a real nice polite teddy bear. BUT the service I had at this dispensary literally left me driving down Maddison thinking about getting a property there. It was literally everyone from the greeter girl up front and the lady behind the glass (for my medical order) was super chill and genuine. Very friendly. And when I popped in the back my dude (I can't remember his name) who always takes my orders if I don't order online but yea the second I hit the back he swooped right up n took my card n stuff and my order was filled n ready all in like under a minute if I had to estimate it. I do highly recommend ordering online and I have even done their curbside pickup which I also recommend but if you don't and choose to order in store I've never waited more than a couple minutes personally. This one and the one on horizon have a good system in place to not keep you waiting. Which is actually why I switched to here from maribis. Maribis's checkout and management systems are completely flawed and ends up with them all just standing and chatting behind the counter while like 40 people are waiting. No joke. Plus Maribis is owned by these two rich lawyer chicks I've met at the capital building and they are nauseating like even more nauseating than lawyers already are. HOWEVER BOYS.. the reason for this review is if you hadn't noticed I didn't mention the girls who rang me up, it's because this entire review was actually inspired by those two employees. They even inspired me to download the yelp app and leave my first review. But yea they were amazing women and phenomenal employees. Their names were Heather and Tiffany. I've been in corporate level district management with as many as 300 people under me with Fortune 500 companies and those two women would fit in that environment perfectly without a problem. Or any career or project they may decide take part in. Ascend is VERY lucky to have those two employees and I highly recommend them for any form of advancement within the Ascend company. They were very warm natured and naturally happy and pleasant throughout the entire process. They were extremely knowledgeable of their product lines, pricing, etc. and they saved me over 80 bucks on like a ton of stuff with said pricing knowledge as well as a very profitable wheel spin where no joke I won like a 40 dollar half gram of this fire badder that put me on the moon boys. I'm gonna see if I can upload a pic of what all I got for 160 bucks. If not I can tell you it was a zip of flower, a 2.5 gram dab of badder, a half gram of badder and a 1 gram preroll that was like 37% thc. I even said "wow that's like Detroit prices but without all the fentanyl" but yea boys them two gals sure made my day. And I honestly hope either of them or both of them read this and look my digits up and take me up on an offer to hit the Texas Roadhouse for a couple porterhouses and some tall boys with some of this money y'all save me. typically, my experience here is great. We recently purchased an ozone pen that was not working. I showed up in the store with the pen and was given a tiny piece of paper with instructions on how to report a defective product. I followed the instructions and sent my email. I heard nothing back , no we received your claim, nothing. I call. Nice gal says "oh that person has left for the day, check back in the morning if you haven't heard anything." I followed it up this morning and was then told it takes two business days. That is not indicated on the tiny slip of paper. Where did anyone share that with me during my call yesterday. read more

As a person from Cali with a lot of family in Colorado and a best friend in Jersey (one of the most recent states to legalize and open shops), this is the most mid-grade shop I've ever been to or got product from. Pre rolls offered are basically shake and stems (I've taken them apart to confirm). The dab pens don't hit either. I get better wax selection from personal sources. The actual flower is hit or miss, mainly miss though. And I'm pretty sure they are lying about thc percentages. I literally have a same strain from Cali and it smokes harder. Overall rating 2/10. Oh and if you're still going, make sure you don't let the terrible customer service get to you. The little short security guys are super unfriendly at the door and the bud tender girls have absolutely no customer service. Only thing good here is the edibles, but since I can make those myself and there's basically nothing to smoke in this shop, I won't be back. read more

January 7, 2021, 1:40 p,m, I walked into a shop and was verbally assaulted by the woman guard at the door. She wanted me to turn myself inside-out, "snap to" and follow her orders. I said "Just give me a second" ( I am disabled). She screamed for the manager "This woman is being rude!!!" Seriously? Who are these people you're hiring to "man" the doors? If I want to be screamed at after offering my I.D. card......No. No one would ever do that. Will not visit again. It isn't wise to harass the people who are bringing you business. Ascend on Horizon Dr. is where you want to go now. If you go downtown - you have to deal with homeless people everytime. And if you don't care for that - you don't have to worry about that - at least for now - at Horizon Dr. They have like 12 or 13 checkouts and even if you don't place an order on line - you will still be out within a few minutes unless it is unusually busy (which I still have yet to see). The way they do things here - it is fast and easy and the people who work there are very helpful. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK at both locations and don't let the naysayers keep you down. read more

I have been a customer at Ascend since 2017. It was great when it was HCI but I'll never go back after the last few experiences I had. I use curbside pick up for medical, their card reader has been broken for over 3 weeks. I called ahead and was told it WAS working got there and after 3 attempts to charge my card had to spend 15 minutes trying to park then had to go in where it took another 15 minutes and the cashier had trouble ringing up my order. I told the manager that I had called and was told curbside was working and he didn't even apologize just shrugged his shoulders. Most of the employees are so sweet but as a corporation Ascend doesn't really care about customer service. It's so hard for my disabled ass to park and then walk in... which is why I called ahead to make sure curbside was working. Gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because most of their staff is super sweet and it's not their fault. read more
