This is the best and pretty much the only gym in the area to train at if you are looking for a ninja warrior type experience. The place is small and in its infancy, but they have large aspirations and are adding new obstacles weekly. David (the person who runs the gym) is great and has been building obstacles upon request for ninjas preparing for the upcoming American Ninja competition in a couple weeks. They have the essentials here. A warped wall, a salmon ladder and a lot of hanging grips to work on. I also bring my son here during kids classes and he has a blast. The adult open gym is affordable and what I normally go to. The kids classes are pricey IMO though and you have to commit to a tuition with an initial fee. They follow the same model as the attached gymnastics gym (which owns Sumner Ninja). A drop in kids rate would be nice. Looking forward to training here a lot more!!!

He gave us tips on how to succeed on the obstacles and encouraged us to try everything. The gym itself had all the remnants of American Ninja Warrior (scaled down of course). We booked it for 90 minutes, but David let us stay over a few minutes to flip the tire and try a few more obstacles. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for an awesome group activity or if you're a fan of the show. If you're booking a party, I would recommend keeping the group small (maybe no more than 15) so everybody has a chance to do the obstacles multiple times. With the ten of us, we never felt like we were waiting around too much and got adequate rush between each obstacle.

We're excited to do one of the many camps and parents night out events. Location is great for us, it's only a 10 - 15 min drive. Review for the Presidents' Day day camp!…read more I grew up in Kent and my parents still live there so I've seen My Gym for years... My son's cousin was registered for the Presidents' Day day camp so we decided to register him, too! It was $49 for a 3 hour drop off session. The camp included games, open play free time use of the space, crafts, and more with other kids and teachers. Upon first look everything looked really clean and safe! My son was a little nervous to be left without me on the sidelines, but when I returned I could tell he formed a comfy relationship with the teachers working and they mentioned how well he did during the duration of the camp. We've never done something like this so I'm glad to have it on my radar for school breaks! They also host "parents night out" events where you're able to drop the kids off and go on a date night - which is a really fun alternative to keeping the kids at home with a sitter. Worth noting that kiddos need to be potty trained and able to separate from parents in order to attend the drop off camps. We'll definitely be bringing my son back in the future!

If you asked me a year ago how I felt about this gym I would have said it is the best gym because…read morethey focus on school and family first. I would tell all of the parents taking their kids to gymnastics how great the place was and they should check it out. The decline stated in the summer of 2014 they said fear was starting to kick in and it was holding her back. My daughter was complaining of back pain. She was "afraid" of the pain not the skill. At practice they told her it did not hurt that bad, just push through it and stop being lazy. If she was doing something wrong the coaches told her to do better or try harder, but not how to fix it. Needless to say, last season her scores kept going down, instead of getting better. All of her confidence was gone. I always thought that you either had the ability or you didn't when it came to gymnastics, and it did not matter what gym you went to. A series of events made the logistics of getting to Roach impossible this year, and it forced us to find another gym. I took her to try it and let me tell you I was wrong, The gym you choose does matter. During the 4 day trial the coach saw a significant improvement in her skills. The first thing the coach said was, "You have been doing this for 4 years? With your strength and flexibility you should be at a much higher level, what are they doing down there what were they teaching you at Roach?" Remember the back pain since summer of 2014? Well that is because she was landing wrong and no one noticed or corrected her. Would there be permanent damage to her back? I feel like I wasted a lot of money and time in Sumner. I regret just staying there because it was comfortable. So now if you asked me about Roach I would tell you to think twice. Do not make the same mistake I did. The rates at this gym are equivalent to others in the area. Look around for quality training and make sure your gymnast is getting what they deserve.
