I recently had to have my pregnant granddaughter's 2006 Honda Civic towed to a mechanic. I am over-the-top happy with the service I received from Williamsburg ASAP TOWING. The operator, BRANDON, arrived exactly on time and was very pleasant with us. He was very knowledgeable about how to hook up the car to the truck, had a battery charger to connect to the dead battery so he could get the car door locks unlocked, and the transmission shifted, was familiar with the Civic, and was very careful and safe when loading the Civic onto the tow truck. We drove right behind him. He obeyed all the traffic laws and when he turned, he made sure that there was enough space in the traffic for us to make the turn too. When we arrived at the mechanic's shop, he offloaded the Civic very professionally, and managed to drive the car to the repair bay. This young man was professional, very pleasant, intelligent and very safe with our car. He ran our credit card, gave us a receipt that I completed by giving him my contact information. He didn't require upfront payment and we only paid when the Civic was delivered safely to the mechanic (and ASAP gave us the first 5 miles free). The woman, CAROLINE, who answered the phone to schedule the pickup was as nice as they come, offering to fit us in to a slot in the schedule to help us out. She knew the pickup address immediately, and knew the mechanic's office right off. I called before the pick up time and Caroline immediately remembered me, confirmed the time and even offered to have Brandon give me a call when he was passing a location close by so we'd be prepared. I cannot recommend the Williamsburg ASAP TOWING highly enough. In this day and age, we meet so many people who are untrustworthy and out for themselves. My experience with ASAP TOWING was not at all like that. They seemed to be honestly concerned about our situation and did everything in their power to make the towing a terrific experience. This is the worst towing company ever, due to the owner/operator. He is a little man with a big attitude and uses bait and switch tactics with price of tow. I was involved in an accident on 64 and state trooper called them for me and he gave price of 120 dollars. When came to pick up my car the next morning less that 12 hours the bill was 500 dollars. His reasons were my vehicle left coolant on his rollback and also a storage fee. Mind you if your in the recovery business to pick up wrecked vehicles well then its expected to have fluids get on your truck. + virginia law says no storage fees can be added on before 24 hours of pickup and he would not release my vehicle unless we paid the 380 increased price. Needless to say I will continue on leaving bad reviews everytime he pays to have these bad ones wiped away. Learn to treat people in a bad position with a little bit of compassion and not take advantage of the situation by being greedy and jacking up laughable fees and unlawful ones as well. After researching the negative comment posted, I have discovered that this person was driving a car that he did not own, illegally parked it and the management personnel had it impounded by ASAP. The driver became extremely upset and did not want to follow state law when told he could not get the car released to him, without an original notarized statement from the vehicles owner or without the owner being present. He also kept disputing the validity of the tow and was referred repeatedly back to the management personnel who had it towed originally. ASAP does in fact have an office in the Williamsburg area and a secure storage facility at another centrally located address in Williamsburg. ASAP Towing will always follow state laws no matter what the situation. We all understand no one likes to have their car impounded. Absolutely the best... They came out in the middle of the night to take care of us as the result of an accident and we were treated very well. They were certain to make sure we were all ok, and were genuinely concerned for our well being. They handled everything that followed our accident from meeting with the claims adjusters and the folks that hauled my vehicle away when we learned that it had been totaled, to dealing with the insurance company. They literally took care of everything. With all the other things we had to deal with concerning the accident, it was very comforting to know that we didn't have to worry about these things as well. Brandon has towed my cars twice - once totaled in an accident and recently after my car's gear shift stuck. I remembered him from years ago because of his very calming, comforting demeanor and professionalism when I was badly shaken by a car accident. Great company! I have dropped a check off at the office before and was greeted by professional staff, the young man that assisted us with the tow was just as professional. I have also faxed documents from my insurance company (StateFarm) to ASAP and they do accept fax's, maybe the person complaining was upset that the law prohibitis any tow company from accepting notarized letters inolving an impounded vehicle. read more

Our car broke down at the intersection of John Tyler Highway and Ironbound Road on 10/06/07. ASAP Towing arrived to help us within 15 minutes of receiving our call! Blake was efficient and polite and quickly got our car (and us) to the mechanic. The price was very reasonable ($40 plus $5 for every mile over 5 miles). Definitely recommend. read more

Found it very strange that the lot is not connected to any office and is unattended? Also you must call 30 minutes ahead.
