I needed him to get some documents to me, and what would normally be a simple task was very difficult for him. Charlie went above and beyond to help. He was patient, kind, and had a fantastic attitude. He took the time to help my client through the process and then sent me exactly what I needed. It made what could have been a very stressful situation incredibly easy. I had originally sent my client to FedEx for assistance, but they were unwilling to help him. Thankfully, we found Charlie at Copymat. The difference in customer service was remarkable. This is what great customer service looks like--recognizing when someone needs a little extra assistance and being willing to help. Charlie treated my client with patience and respect, and I truly appreciate it. Thank you, Charlie! My quest was to find a print shop in the Monterey/Salinas area that could do a walk in project that…read morewas a two sided color complicated 8x8 document on cardstock that had to be done that morning. I had the project as a pdf. Once we got the pdf. to the copymat computer, the person there worked hard at changing the format to fit the 8x8 size and produced the final result, which was beautifully trimmed to exactly 8x8. At the beginning, he had asked how many copies I wanted and I had said one, and his shoulders sank. But he still spent about 15-or 20 minutes inputting the specs, testing by printing and adjusting. When he thought it was just rignt, he gave it to me. said I said it was beautiful. As we went over to the register, I asked how much it would cost, he rang it up and said, $1.02. I said, that can't be right! He said, you're right, it was double sided. That would will be $2.03. I paid the money, and walked out to my car and then came back to him and said that I just couldn't do that and gave him a good tip. You just can't beat that kind of know how, attention to detail, and service to the customer. I will always recommend Copymat for all printing needs.

The day before my trip from California to Pennsylvania, I called to confirm that I could drop off my live leopard gecko for overnight shipping. According to UPS policies, certain live animals, including non-venomous reptiles, can be shipped through approved services. I had already purchased the shipping label, had the proper packaging, and had documentation from the reptile shipping company confirming that the shipment was authorized. My main interaction was with the manager at this location. He repeatedly told me that the shipment could not be accepted and insisted it was a USPS shipment, not UPS. I explained multiple times that it was a UPS label and shipment, but he continued to tell me otherwise. The way the conversation was handled made me feel like I was being dismissed rather than listened to. I also called the other Salinas UPS Store location for a second opinion and was simply told they would not accept it. Because I was told the shipment would be refused, I had to contact the reptile shipping company directly. Thankfully, they were extremely helpful and arranged for someone to pick up my gecko from my home. Unfortunately, the pickup didn't occur until around 6:00 PM, after the cutoff time for overnight shipping, causing an unnecessary delay and additional stress right before my cross-country trip. Fortunately, the next day, while I was already in Pennsylvania, the shipment was picked up on time and my leopard gecko arrived healthy and safe. This entire situation could have been avoided if the staff were properly informed about approved live animal shipments through UPS.
