Well, he was there ASAP, and he was polite. But they refused to provide any kind of estimate (even ballpark) before arriving, and when the guy got there, he announced that the cost to get my car door open (keys were inside) was $325+. Clearly, they rely on the desperation of the person needing to get out of the parking lot and the pressure of them having traveled to you already. I never should've paid it. That's highway robbery--literally. I feel like an idiot, and my husband and mechanic both say I shouldn't have done it, but I was exhausted and in a hurry--the perfect victim. It took the dude five minutes to complete the job, and I realized that's more than most lawyers charge. I asked if they were hiring. read more

Needed a new key fob for an old Prius. The job started well, a very nice guy came and worked on it, but told me he didn't have the right computer. But he arranged for another locksmith to come two days later with the right equipment. So far so good. But the new guy was a no-show, and when I called their office I repeatedly got a run-around until one guy seemed to know what he was doing. He said give me 10 or 20 minutes and I'll get right back to you. It's two hours later and I still haven't heard. They might be good locksmiths (or not) but this is the most disorganized and sloppy business I've ever worked with. read more

Caution! Thieves work and run this company. I locked myself out and couldn't get ahold of the locksmith that many in my building have used. It took over an hour for the locksmith to get to my apartment after telling me he would be there in 20 minutes. Then he told me it would cost me $505 dollars just to open my door. This man took advantage of my desperation of getting into my apartment. I had a bag full of perishable food, so what was I supposed to do. I had my locks changed a few months before and it cost me only 300 dollars. Don't use ASAP Locksmith under any circumstances. They wouldn't even give me a price over the phone. read more

Man what a life saver!!! I googled mobile locksmiths on a Saturday at 7pm and Stanley "STAN DA MAN" answered the phone on the first ring and was at my residence by 7:19! Had my front door unlocked in about 5 minutes!! My terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day was over in less than 30 minutes!!! On top of all that he even made me a spare key as a courtesy! Had a couple of blanks cut for my sedan. He came by with 30 minutes heads up, reprogrammed all my existing keys, cut my blanks, reprogrammed my key fob, put in a new battery, and was kind enough to give me a heads up that my car battery was not gonna last much longer. Called em after getting locked out and they were rude to me over the phone, they even laughed at me. Thats no way to treat a prospect or customer. I called the person right below them on the Yelp search and they quoted me $25 less. And were polite. If you want quick, cheap and great service hit up A-1 Keyway. Robert was AMAZING! And also very helpful. I had attempted to re-key a lock myself earlier in the day and made a total mess of everything, i.e., all the cylinder pins came flying out on accident on both the top and bottom locks. So I was in desperate need of a locksmith to come bail me out of this situation. My first encounter with a locksmith was a total scam. The person who answered the call was someone in a foreign country at a call center and sent me to one of their on-call technicians. The young man arrived and told me he couldn't re-key it because it was "too far gone". So he wrote me a quote starting at $429 to attempt to re-key it with no guarantees. I sent him packing. I was lucky enough to get into with contact Robert who quoted me the exact price over the phone (which was a fair price and I was happy to pay it). He soon arrived and had no issue assembling the lock and re-keying it. He was truly an angel and a super nice guy. I highly recommend him, and I will absolutely use his services again. I have been using this locksmith company for years! They had a different name before. But they are always fast and available. I especially like the man who answers the phone. I don't recall his name. And then Robert, the Locksmith who comes to the house to do the actual work. I do not think they are the are the same person. Both people offer great Customer Service. Robert remembers serving my homie previously over the years, and my family members. He even gave my dog a biscuit, and remembered him too!!! That goes a long way in my book. I have had a great experience with this locksmith and only a fraction of the costs of anywhere else I've checked. I legit spent 25% of what everywhere else was quoting me for my locksmith needs. He is quick and thorough and appreciate him helping me out when my car keys disappeared and were later found at someone else's residence. So not only did he make and and program a key for me, but a month later when all my keys were in one location he reprogrammed my keys for my car. Great service. Great cost. I was referred to this locksmith by a good family friend after he had his car ignition changed and keys reprogrammed. I have an SUV that had its key stuck in the ignition switch. Called and got a quote from the locksmith and was told that they were going to come out Monday. I called Monday and got no response. I get a call a few days later and was told that I was out of the area and that someone else usually gets sent out. So much for good customer service.
