I found this amazing cake baker, Josie at ASAP cakes in Fresno, with only 5 days until my son's 26th birthday party. My son just got chickens on his property so I thought a chicken cake would be funny! And boy was it ever! But I just could not believe what a masterpiece it also was!! Not only was it completely chicken like in appearance but the cake itself (no, it was not chicken inside, haha) was absolutely delicious! It was light, not overly sweet, and the filling was so tasty! I chose a vanilla pudding and raspberry apple filling with the hopes that the reddish/white filling would ooze out a little when the cake was cut (for effect), and it DID! It was perfect and really funny! The fondant leaves, which were all individually cut into shape and meticulously designed, were also surprisingly delicious! The fondant was lighter than typical heavier fondant and also the perfect texture. The time it must have taken to perfectly cut, shape, and detail each unique fondant feather is mind boggling. Oh, there were even made cake/fondant "eggs." The extra time and care and attention to detail was off the charts! Everything about this amazing cake was a reflection of utmost love and care and we SO appreciated that!! Josie and her son are pure talent and I am SO very happy to have found them.
