OMG the worst customer service. The guy with the missing tooth was just unprofessional, rude and mean. If this person is just an employee please get rid of him,if he is the owner OMG thats just terrible may God give all the customers patience cause he was very difficult, he was horrible, zero customer service , very sarcastic just terrible. Like he has to go tnew. I wanted to get a few items and I asked if I can put this one item on the counter and he said no you cant get a basket, and I said I dont want to carry it around the store cause I had other bags from previous shopping , he said I cant have anything on the counter , mind you there was only one other in the store at the time. I would understand if it was busy , anyhow So I just ignored him and continued my shopping. So he was having a conversation with a coworker very loud and he started to use profanity so this lady that was in the store got upset and asked him not to use profanity, he said ok in a smart ass tone and he just laughed, omg he was such a jerk. If I was to go back to sovang i will not go in the store if that terrible employee is still there, no way. read more

Thursday, 12-19-2024: This is such a fun, eclectic store. We never leave empty handed. This is where we discovered prank gift boxes a while back. They're perfect for white elephant gift exchanges and the results are hilarious! We picked up some on this trip again. Their prices beat Amazon! There are other novelty items throughout the store. We bought our grandson a box of magic tricks and I bought a pair of funny Christmas socks for my sister. The cashier was very friendly and we laughed over the prank boxes. read more

Been here before but every time we frequent the small town we always miss out because it's always either closed or we come too late. Finally got a chance to visit back New Year's Day and it was nice to see all the nostalgic items. They have tons of stuff; classic toys, kitchenware, gadgets, you name it. The cashier and relative of the owner were so nice! We had a brief conversation about the history of the place and when it all began. Very personable and friendly folks! They made us feel welcomed. This store as been around forever -- almost as long as TV itself! Lots of stuff to buy that you don't really need but seem like a good idea at the time. Wow -- prices have gone up big time so don't expect bargains here. No dogs allowed so I only stayed for a minute. Might have bought something if I stayed longer -- so thanks guys for not allowing my dog inside as it saved me money! read more

Better than you think it's going to be. Amidst the Cham-Wows and the knives that boast the ability to cut through tin cans and ripe tomatoes with ease, the store features a surprising variety of things you categorically don't need but somehow can't seem to survive without. Loosely organized into "departments," there are shelf sections dedicated to home & kitchen, personal fitness/wellness, pets, and novelties. Local Solvangian goodies can be found here, along with some toys, games, and clothing items. A couple of employees roam the floor, offering assistance and answering questions. Stumbled across this store while walking around Solvang. I used to love these stores so I was excited. Me, husband and 2 kids went in. My 15 year is old on the spectrum and has major anxiety. He found a stress ball on the shelf and started squeezing it. He asked if I'd buy it and I said yes and asked how much it was, he said he didn't know cause it was just laying there. I asked him to show me where and we were walking towards the area. The employee comes up to him and in a very "Karen" tone says " I'm assuming you're going to buy that", he stares blankly as he doesn't know what to say. She snaps at him and says you can't go opening things if you're not going to buy it. Meanwhile another customer chimes in and says the same thing. I was about to tell her to mind her own gd business but my daughter stepped in and said that was open already and it was just laying on that table. The employee said "ohh"... I took it from my son and said I was planning on buying it but now I ain't buying a got damn thing from here. I made my daughter put her stuff back and we left! I must've been on a good one today cause normally I would've lit her up for speaking to my son that way! read more

i suffer from extreme anxiety and have a service animal. I was told by the owner my service animal was not allowed in the store. I was also questioned about it which i have never had to explain to someone before the purpose of my service animal. I know you're not supposed to do either of these things and it really put my on my spot and made my anxiety much worse. please study up on the laws so you don't do this to someone else in the future read more

Something for everyone. At least that's what I thought as I browsed through the entire store. I checked every aisle and every shelf. I think it's cool to see things people invent out of laziness or necessity. I really can't comment on prices because it's not like shop around for things found in this store, nor do I watch TV as I don't even own one. However, the prices seemed affordable as I didn't see anything listed that would require me cutting off any limbs for payment. It was distraction for me as I walked thru Solvang. Talk about a fun find. You have to see it for yourself. Infomercial person dream everything is here. Lots of fun stuff. We got some cool tin pics for my girls two Elvis and one vintage Aquaman. My wife got in the fun with cool speaker for her phone. I think it was the owner there a very cool guy. I can't help it... We always come to this place, and never buy anything, but its so addictive to see the wierd stuff people invent.. Its very worth it to swing by just go pick up a snuggie, but everything else seems to be a one hit wonder. You will undoubtedly say "wow what a great idea" when you come here, which makes it one of the hot spots in Solvang for tourists. read more

I was in the store with my kids looking at the toys. GIB who was working behind the counter was very rude and told my kids to be quiet while they were excited looking at toys that we were going to buy. I told Gib that he was very rude and ruined the Solvang Trip for my family. I asked to speak with the manager and refused to give me his number. GIB said that the manager would be in the following day which I plan to call and speak to the store manager and complain about Gib poss and rude customer service. Save your time and money and don't shop at this business. I've never had this happen to me. My kids were not even loud or disruptive. read more

You can call me easily amused, but I lovedid it! In this quaint cozy town, it really is a unique & off-the-beaten-path store. I've seen quite a few stores like this (I can't pass em' up!), but never one with so many items and so uniquely packed into such a cozy space. The prices were somewhat high at times, yet the employee there was personable & helpful, plus they have vintage signs as well. It's exciting to me to see all the gizmos & gadgets the mind can create. Honestly, I don't get this shop at all. It's a shop filled with trinkets that looked fantastic, but are made of cheap materials. You would think these inventions would fetch millions of untold riches for the people who created these things. Take for instance of these "sharpener" for your razor. Imagine you buying these disposable razors from your local Sav-On, you only get to use it only twice because the blade get dulled fast. With these awesome trinket that can be proclaimed Fourteenth Wonders of the world, it can now save you money from buying these disposable razors again by sharpening it every single time after you shaved your skin. Of all the places we could have shopped at Solvang, this unnecessary pitstop was the longest stay than any of the other stores. I don't know, but the people I was with are easily amused by these gadgets or the fact they never stayed up at 2am in the morning like me (coincidentally I am writing this review at this hour of the morning). Seriously, yes...this shop has most of the items that you have seen in the infomercial that high pressured the sales pitch to get you to call in. Now you can buy it at the store for 20-50% off from the TV price. Frankly, I have seen this store in San Diego and San Francisco's tourists area. This shop just doesn't fit any of the other sausage fest or windmill gimicky restaurants that are within two blocks of this store. I guess it's one of those train wrecks you have to get up front to see if it's something you have never seen before. As in for that purchase one of my co-worker made....he told me the disposable razors were cheap and break down very easy. So that invention was useless for sharpening a cheap blade. Hubby and I love these types of stores. I mean, who doesn't need a device that'll turn your raw veggies into swirls and others glorious works of art? Truthfully, most of these "As Seen on TV" items are questionable in their function and definitely not worth the $19.99 that they were advertised for on that infomercial (plus s & h). The prices of items vary here but you'll find things for less than the infomercial prices. The lady that worked there was very sweet and we ended up buying a couple t-shirts. read more

Besides the usual gadget's, they also have vintage medal posters and old school Beatles and Marilyn Moore items. They also have a Hawaiian shave ice store connected to this store. Shave ice is NOT like Matsumoto. Its more like a snow cone then the fluffy pillow like shave ice in Hawaii. They have lots of flavors to deck out the snow cones. read more

I had to review this place because it's too cool! I don't know about you, but I'm not into the tourist town shops. They always seem to be filled with souvenirs, crafty jewelry, hard candy and weird handmade junk. Not at the Seen On TV store! No sir, this place is filled with my kind of stuff. Basically it's all the cheap products you see being sold on late night TV, in a store. All the vegetable peelers, mini-ovens, health and beauty products and other cheap gadgets you see being hawked on info-mercials is right here. I can't believe this place doesn't exist on 3rd Street Promenade. After passing curio shop after shop aimed at boring middle-aged wine tasters, this was a breath of fresh air. I spent a good amount of time admiring the secret wall safes, original Clapper, toys, stone-cutting saws and other goodies for sale. So if you need a mini-fridge, blinking bluetooth bracelet or mystery blue gel ointment, this is your place! read more

I have to laugh. What do you expect from an "as seen on TV store". If the merchandise was extremely high quality...it wouldn't be seen on an infomercial! With that said, I have bought a few items here that I actually liked. It's really helpful to see and handle rather than taking the chance while you're watching an advertisement on TV. Some of these As Seen on TV items (the egg peeler, windshield repair kit, wipe new headlight restoration) didn't work as promised, but this shouldn't reflect on the store itself. Sure the store could use more space and organization and discounts, but the store is a fun diversion between all the wine tasting, wooden shoes, cuckoo clocks, gift shops, and ollie bowlies or hansel gruben or whatever those pancake balls are called. It's certainly the most appealing store to typical dudes who want bowls made of bacon, pocket hoses, chia zombies, cup o' poodles, and lots of things described as Miracle or Magic. Some people are reviewing the store, some the items, so I say VISIT this store, but, yeah, check reviews on the products. For example, the Easy Feet bath brush looks like a cool idea, but it's probably harder to clean the brush than your feet. It should be called the Miracle Magic Mold Collector. read more

This is a usual tourist-trap store in the most touristy area for miles. However, some of the products can be useful. Except the "Potty Putter", a putting green for people on the toilet. The store is a little cluttered and some of the products are hat to get to because of the way they are displayed. I agree with Ari that most shops are filled with cheesy tourist stuff, but at least most of the stores try to go with the village theme. not this one. you can buy any of this stuff online, or in mall shops. there are several versions of this chain in the malls near my home. Sort of a kitschy store that sells a lot of the products that you see advertised on tv whenever you have a bout of insomnia. Some items are quite useful and high quality such as the Gorilla glue and others are just whacked, like the hands free phone kit that is literally a head band with a suction cup. Ghetto Bluetooth. Just be aware that most of these products are made of inferior quality and will go out on you after a few uses. Most of these items are pretty amusing seeing that they cater to the lazyass in all of us. read more

I had to drive home 300 miles in my brother's truck: souped up with stiff suspension and racing off-road wheels. And I have a bad back, lumbar issues up the kazoo :-( My nephew had seen a soft, squishy cushion at this store, so off we went i search of something for me to sit on. All of us enter their shop, very compact and full of knick knacks, a treasure trove of all they sell on t.v., infomercials. It's the sort of place I would've loved to browse--if only I wasn't so desperate to get back home and find something to sit on. Way in the back of the shop, they stock a variety of pillows, lumbar car seats ... we take a couple of pillows out of its packaging (after asking the shop keeper), place the pillows on the floor, after which I test them out by sitting on them. I ended up buying both pillows--a bamboo molded contour supportive and also a blue plastic egg-carton--and what a heaven sent solution! The shop is full of reasonably priced desirables, almost like a curio shop. The owners/managers are sweet, friendly, helpful. Would recommend in a heartbeat, either for a dedicated mission as I was on--or just for browsing for stuff that you didn't know you need but see it and your curiosity is piqued. read more
