The tow alone cost over $300, and once they receive it, they told me their "discount" price. Their "discount price" cost more than the full price of the mechanic that originally diagnosed it. What a joke. They won't even buy it back to help us out. We buy multiple vehicles every year for our business, and I was really hoping we had found a good spot to continue doing business. If they can't tell that a transmission is going out on a vehicle they are selling, they can't be trusted to professionally sell or service them.

They were very interactive and they answered my question about my transmission in a very objective way. They hold a certain certification for n auto mechanic that many repair shops brag about being the standard. They even offered a free inspection on my transmission and my car in general. I made an appointment went there and indeed they did in an inspection for free and they discussed with me the products they can offer. I'm planning on taking my car there this winter to change the brakes. They texted me the inspection result and it agreed with my Toyota agency inspection done last month. The manager Alan took his time to discuss little details with me. The front desk lady was very courteous and very professional Despite me having free inspection. They even install starters and digital ones too , linked to smart phones. Parking lot Was ample but the waiting room is small just a few chairs since they have loaner cars for customers not to wait too long. What really surprise me was the restroom I thought I was in a four stars hotel restroom: it's so well maintained nice exceptional decorative touch and cleanliness for car repair shop.

I have a 17 yr old vehicle thats rear left brake caliper was sticking. Upon further inspection, the…read morerear left brake pad had worn down to the metal because of the sticking caliper. So I brought it here to get repaired. The good: They do an inspection with photos and put it online for you to see. The service writer was patient and helpful in figuring out what work to get done and was upfront about costs. They offer free loaner cars, which I did not use. The are ASE certified mechanics. The bad: The original inspection addressed everything else they wanted to replace and did not address what caused the sticking caliper - the reason I was there. They did go back and look at it though once I asked, and said the pins probably rusted. They wanted to replace a strut, front brakes and rear brakes, secure a heat shield better, degrease the engine to pinpoint a leak, and do an oil change. It's good to know about that stuff but the rear left brake was the pressing issue. Was originally quoted $1,175 to replace just the rear brakes: new calipers, new rotors, new pads on both the rear left and rear right (but not the front.) The car is only worth $1500, it's a Scion/Toyota not a Mercedes or BMW and it's old. I had been quoted $850 to do all that somewhere else with 3 yr warranty, new parts etc. So I asked what's the minimum they could do to get all 4 brakes working and they said they could replace just the rear left caliper and rear left brake pads for $450. The brake pads come in sets for both rear wheels but the mechanic wouldn't put the rear pads on the right side because he wouldn't work with the rear right caliper - it's too old and rusty, might break (though I would've taken that risk.) He would want to replace it instead. Well if I replaced every old rusty part of my car that still works I'd have a new car, and they charge $300+ to put a new caliper in. And they don't machine resurface rotors even if they're thick enough to. They said they want to warranty the rotors for 3 years instead. Well my car might not last another 3 years. So I chose the $450 option. When I picked it up they gave me the breakdown of the work: $192 for a remanufactured caliper sold at NAPA a few blocks away from the shop for less than $100. $50 for brake pads sold at NAPA for $25. $178 for the labor to install a new caliper and pads on just the rear left wheel. The brakes vibrate because they don't resurface rotors. They gave me the extra set of brake pads that came in the box they wouldn't put on the right side without replacing the caliper. I see a lot of good reviews here but nobody is saying what they paid. And they don't want to work with old rusty parts, just replace them all. Maybe that's typical, but 4 or 5 stars would be going above typical. And the shop is only open until 5pm. It took a week to get me in. All that said, this isn't a negative review. I'm just saying this may be a small, honest family owned shop in Corcoran with just a few mechanics and service people, but it isn't a thrifty one. Far from it. But I do now know all the work my car needs done in the near future and how to tackle it with a more thrifty shop and a probably a parts dealer/service locator like Tirerack.

Many years later, we are loyal customers. The fact is, we can all be taken by a mechanic. How do we really know? Ask Patty is another layer of consumer protection. I have never experienced any of the shenanigans I have endured at so many other car places. Sure, Jim will tell you he can repair all that minor stuff like bulbs and air filters that anyone can easily do themselves, but what I rely on him for are the major repairs, not just maintenance. If my wife happens to be the one taking the car in, she has Jim do that minor stuff. Jim founded his shop after many years in the business, thus establishing his credibility. This repair shop is the most dishonest place I've ever been to. The owner is not transparent, rude,…read moreand disrespectful. I requested for an oil change and was quoted $65 and discount of $10 with coupon. Upon picking up, I was told to pay $70 even. I start to question the details but was not given a paper copy to clarify but rather verbally explaining to me about the breakdown of costs that did not add up. Owner said that my Nissan Pathfinder needed more than 5-quart of oil, which is not true. He claimed that $65 quote was just an estimate on my car model, and nothing can be certain until they start to fill the oil. What I don't understand is how can a repair car expert claimed to have 45 years of experience but yet uncertain on the volume of motor oil needed for Nissan Pathfinder. I've changed my own oil and also brought to other repair shops, but never once that I needed or was told that the Nissan Pathfinder needed more than 5 quarts of motor oil. Upon questioning more, the owner gets impatient and started to yell. When I'm about to pay with dissatisfaction, owner pull my key fob aside and insisting that I pay in cash. I protested and commented that the shop clearly showed the acceptance of credit card. The owner told me that he was making me to pay in cash because of my attitude. Not sure why a customer dissatisfaction can be claimed as bad attitude. He simply told me that "now I have your car, what are you going to do about it?" I insisted that credit card is the only form I will pay him. After he ran my credit card, and I get my receipt, I complained that this shop is running a dishonest business and will share my bad experience with all the people I've known. This triggered the owner going ballistic and started yelling again. He even charged towards me and holding on both my arms demanding me to get out. I told him to get his hands off me and not touch me at all. He threatened to call the police on me, which I dared him to do so by questioning what violations have I committed. He kept yelling and told me to get out. When one is caught not being able to explain the unreasonable charges, this person would believe that raising his voice and yelling can somehow justify his dishonesty demeanor. Strongly advise against going to this shop at all costs.
