Was looking for some hard to find hardware parts for an older drum set…read more They found what I needed and I enjoyed the conversation while they looked for me. Very fair price as well!!!

I really wanted to buy local from Fred Pierce Studio Drum Shop and have always recommended him to…read moremany local musicians over the past decades. I was looking for a decent practice drum set to start playing again. (multi-instrumentalist w/ a studio) I came in on a Thursday and Fred showed me a decent Yamaha Custom set and some low volume cymbals. With a hardware pack it came out to $1,500+/-... Perfect, that is all I wanted to spend on a practice set. I asked if he could hold it for a few days for a couple hundred dollars while I double checked with my wife. I came back a few days later and had to let Fred know an old friend gave me his old Tama Imperialstar shells/snare for almost nothing. I told him I would just be picking up cymbals today, but I will still need to pick out... Fred then proceeded to throw his duster across the room and began having a childish tantrum. Rambling on about its people like me that are putting local businesses out of business. He continued to berate me and clearly showed how angry he was I wasn't picking up that exact drum set. I continued to apologies to deescalate the situation, but Fred continued harassing me. I have never felt so uncomfortable or treated in such a manner by an adult. I tried to tell him I still needed DW Hardware to match my old DW double pedal. I also wanted to pick out additional higher end cymbals... (non-practice set) He continued to be an a-hole. All I could do is purchase the practice cymbals and was forced out the door. If he had any maturity or respect for his customers, I was prepared to walk out the door with about $2k in cymbals that day. I also just got large tax refund and huge bonus. Now I'm forced to buy a new DW Collectors Series drum set somewhere else. (Maybe direct) I always recommend buying local, but it pains me to say, I do NOT recommend Fred Piere Studio Drums.

I just bought the Alvarez AG60CE back in January, through Guitar Center, who told me that since I…read moredidn't buy their warranty for this brand new guitar, I had to go to the Alvarez distributor in the country, in St. Louis to have it fixed The problem is, Alvarez is a shitty Guitar, banking on big names like LR Baggs to sell their garbage. The L.R. Baggs electronics were completely shot on this guitar... Even the tuner didn't work. They said they would fix it for me, but I had to pay the $160.01 to ship it to them, first. That's right. Alvarez built me a defective guitar, then made me pay an additional 40% of the price of the guitar to fix their own mistake. If anyone really wants an Alvarez guitar, I highly recommend buying a used one. I wonder how long L.R. Baggs is willing to take a hit in allowing the Alvarez brand to cost them money before pulling out themselves.

The staff here actually know their stuff and take the time to help you find what you need without being pushy. I came in to check out a few guitars and left with way more knowledge (and inspiration) than I expected. The store's clean, well-organized, and the vibe is super laid back. You can actually try out instruments without feeling rushed, and they've got a great selection of gear--from guitars and amps to cables, pedals, and accessories. Big shoutout to the crew for being patient and genuinely helpful. Always a good experience here!
