At the time I called him, I could hear that he was under the weather by his voice, but he nevertheless spent a lot of time answering my questions. He was very patient, kind, responsive, and most importantly, honest. Even though he could have bought my piano and re-sold it for higher, he honestly told me that if it were him in my shoes, knowing my decision-making considerations, he would just keep the piano in family. Stephanie Chang is a wonderful teacher; patient and knowledgeable. She has taught my 7 year old daughter and I the violin since last year at another music school in Danville. She also teaches piano. The quality of dance training has declined over the years. The owner is more focused on making money. She has the recitals at a theatre that is 45 min away from the studio in Florissant because she can book that space way cheaper than the other places she use to use (those were in Chesterfield and Fenton). The recitals are in the middle of the week, which is not convenient for most people or friends and family traveling to see the recitals. What use to be a good studio, has sadly become awful. Alot of the good teachers are gone and the place is going downhill fast. The atmosphere with the older students is not good, "mean girl" behavior and the teachers turn a blind eye (and at times participate and encourage the bullying behavior). If dancing on a high school dance team is in your future DO NOT GO HERE! They penalize and outcast any students who are affiliated with their school teams. Put this place on the bottom of your list, or just avoid it completely. Very unfortunate how bad this studio has gotten.
