I have been going to music folk for over 10 years, the staff is friendly and helpful, the selection…read moreof acoustic guitars and other stringed instruments is large and their prices are more than competitive. I bought an acoustic electric guitar there a few years ago and still love it. The advice they gave me while trying out different models was extremely thoughtful and I ended with a great buy. I regularly go there to have them string my guitar, the charge is minimal and not much more than the cost of the new strings. (And while they're stringing I can play around with all the amazing guitars on the walls.) Go there if you are looking for a guitar, banjo, mandolin, dulcimer or other similar stringed instruments. Just a great group of people.

This is my second visit to this store, and it's at one of my favorites in the country. The…read moreselection of guitars and fiddles is immense. Additionally, there are rare stringed instruments, mountain dulcimers, and some percussion instruments (bodhrans, bones, tambourines). Also, they have sheet music books and lots of accessories (slides, straps, pics, amps, etc). I had fun walking around playing things, including 4 dulcimers. The salesman and I talked shop. Awesome store!

Great selection and service!…read more Being musician isn't always good times. Sometimes I need to make decisions on gear, and certain places are more helpful than others. If someone is short or unhelpful, odds are I will take my business elsewhere. Fazio's Frets and Friends knows how to help someone with tough decisions. I'm always looking for the next sound or addition to my collection, and Fazio's carries a pretty nice array of guitars and accessories. As far as local and independent, they might have the best selection of guitar pedals. I could plug in and goof around for hours! Recently, I purchase an overdrive pedal from them, and the associate was patient and helpful during my two visits. Yes, it took me TWO visits to decide. If you're looking for electrics or acoustics, they have plenty to choose from, whether you have the spread to purchase American standards or cheaper Mexican models. Sometimes they get in cool and unique pieces that Guitar Center isn't likely to carry. If you want to avoid the corporate instrument stores and shop local, Fazio's is a great alternative to your neighborhood Guitar Center.

I have to say, I went here today for the first time in a while. maybe like 2 years & I remember why…read moreI stopped going now. From the moment I step in people are trying to sell me something, I just wanna browse and look around and explore my options but when someone sits there and watches me like a hawk it's really not an enjoyable experience to find an instrument

I went in looking for a tele and was disappointed in the inventory and the shopping experience…read more They had very few guitars accessible and a few interesting guitars behind the counter. I asked to play a few teles and check out what they had out but nothing was well set up, then I couldn't find a cord or working amp. I went to ask for a cable but dude was gone so I looked at T shirts. The racist T shirt is enough to give this place a bad review, but they brag about it on their website and the owner brags here yelp about so I guess they are proudly racist? Anyway all of the guitars were a little overpriced and inconsistently set up, the stuff behind the counter was more overpriced (and there was no one there to help if I wanted to play something) and I didn't want to wait around just to further inconvenience dude by asking another question. Dude came back out just as I was leaving and I couldn't get out the door fast enough. I should add - if I had found a good tele for a reasonable price I would've bought it and tried to ignore the racist T-shirt. Yeah, I would give them one star because of the overt racism but it's really just not a very good guitar store. There are better options in STL with no politics involved, better prices, better variety, and better everything.

Staff was not friendly and seemed out by our being there. As far as selection goes, it was limited…read moreand expensive.
