    Kung pow chicken bowl

Amazing food! I'm so happy my boyfriend and I chose here for dinner on our first night in Burlington! We suggested getting takeout for the remainder of our stay from here. The kung pow bowl is awesome. And the rice that comes with it is phenomenal. The Cubano sandwich was delicious.

Great art environment, love what they've done with the place! You go to the counter to order and our food came out within 10 minutes! We tried the kimchi scramble and the fried chicken and biscuits - both were great! We'll be back!

ArtsRiot is a super cool venue with a great kitchen. They do have a lot of musical acts that we have not made it to yet, but we have gone for dinner often. During good weather, they have a truck stop event and invite all the local food trucks. It gets super crowded, is dog friendly (inside and out!) and is usually a good time. They also serve some of their regular menu offerings from a food truck out back. I am OBSESSED with their pork belly gyro. Perfectly sweet pork belly, crunchy kimchi, and some kind of magic sauce. Ethiopian night - seems to happen once a month or so and a local woman takes over the kitchen. There are no Ethiopian restaurants anywhere nearby so I am super grateful for the option. You have to make reservations beforehand and it does get crowded. Food is pretty good - an odd group of roasted veggies accompanied our meal. Traditional sour injera and the vegetarian platter had the typical lentil curries and greens. Small thing missing is the small salad that typically comes on an Ethiopian platter (and their limited menu didn't have an option).

So many great reviews and we were ready for a trendy night out with our sons. We did not have a reservation but were seated about half way through our pre-dinner drinks. We felt pretty lucky and appreciated the speed of the sitting. The spicy cucumber dish received great reviews from the table and even though I am not a big cucumber fan - I admit it was tasty. The mains came and the burgers were enjoyed by the boys, but we were completely disappointed that the spicy chicken sandwich was the popcorn chicken bites between two buns? What? That is something I threw together when out of money and cleaning out my freezer in college!? Oh well... pretty nice night but the chicken mishap has me scratching my head.

First time visit to Burlington. I was only here for one night and used Yelp to find this place. I wanted a place at the bar to eat dinner, but all spots were taken. Luckily one opened up after 10 minutes. Pretty busy for a Wednesday night. A pretty interesting concept melding art, food, drink, and art. I didn't have much time, so my review covers food and drink only. Had a Gin N Juice cocktail - tasked good, a bit too sweet for my liking. To start I had the Pork Belly Bao with cucumber - excellent dish. The fresh cucumber and cilantro meshed perfectly with the Pork Belly. For the main course, I had the Gnocchi - this dish was good, not great. To be honest, there were so many other things that looked interesting on the menu, that I will have to make a second visit. Great, prompt service at the bar. Given how busy this place was with regulars, I'd love to come back!!

Cool spot among the reused industrial buildings. Interesting menu and local drinks. Try the "sparkle" fries for something a little different.

Our experience at Arts Riot was everything I want in a dining experience these days. The food was interesting and well executed, and it was served in a casual laid back setting that was utterly lacking in pretension. The food was fun as was the entire experience. The menu, stamped with the current date, obviously changes somewhat frequently. It differed from the one online, but that worked out well for us, as it featured a couple of things we'd seen elsewhere but that weren't currently listed on the website. (Yum spicy chicken sandwich!) The brocolini dish, with carrots and farro was straight up incredible. It ranks as one of the best vegetable dishes I've had anywhere. The flavors played off of each other perfectly. I know I've already used the term once, but the dish just had a playful sense of fun to it. It was brightly colored and looked as good as it tasted. The kimchi pork cheek was also excellent. The meat was tender and delicious. The sauce spicy and full of flavor. Each bite was really a joy to eat. We were torn between several dishes, and while I'm sure that we couldn't have gone wrong, we were thrilled with our choice. Finally, we liked our server. He was laid-back and willing to answer the many questions we had about the menu. Oh, and one last thing. The price was right. It proves that an excellent and innovative meal does need to be out of reach. This is a place that I'd easily feel like I could afford to visit frequently. And if I lived in Burlington, you better bet that I would!

Cool spot, cool people, unique menu, & on & on & on. Nothing but good things to say about this place. So glad we found this place!

Super fun place to get together with friends and hang out on the weekend. Love the Friday food truck vibe. From the moment I entered late 90s/early 2000s music was playing. ArtsRiot you won my heart from the start. The music just didn't stop being awesome. Lots of drinks options, the Citizen cider was great and the cocktail I ordered was delicious and strong. Nice to get a bang for my buck! Service was fast and the bartenders were chill. There was a drag show while I was there which I intended to go but go too distracted by my friends and the food. Will definitely be back on a Friday and next time hopefully I'll make it to see the entertainment. Even if not, trendy, relaxed vibe, cool atmosphere= happy me.

Our meal was wonderful. It's smaller plates, meant to share. My boyfriend and I got 3 dishes to share and we each got a burger (only $4 on Sunday!). The chicories was incredible, I could eat that every single day.

I LOVE the the Truck Stop night on Fridays that Arts Riot organized! So of course I wanted to check out the place itself as their menu changes daily. I wanted to have the BBQ so we went on a Thursday night. When we arrived it was slightly confusing as to if we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. We eventually figured out that we need to seat ourselves but it took a little bit for the waitress to come over. When she did come over she mentioned that they "were like, out of menus" and I just responded that we fine sharing two. We all opted for the pulled pork platter and were shocked at the size. The portion was large and came with corn bread-which we found too salty, a mix of bean and rice- which was very tasty, and some pickles that I was not very partial too. The meal was so large that I was unable to finish it and took some for home. It was a good lunch at work the next day! I want to mention that I found the pulled pork to not be very "pulled". There were large chunks of whole pieces of pork and it just didn't seem as juicy or succulent as it could have been. This was a slight disappointment. I have been searching for great BBQ in the Burlington area and this was just okay. The other reason I am going with three starts is because while trying to eat dinner, a whole line of people formed right by our table in an attempt to get into the art gallery portion of the place... it would have been really nice to eat food away from all those eyes. Maybe Arts Riot should consider having a separate entrance to the Gallery open while people are eating.......

A sister restaurant to Foam Brewers!…read more We spent a weekend in Burlington, VT visiting breweries, wine bars, a comedy show, eating, shopping and it was wonderful. Deep City was a recommendation for brunch from a local. It is the sister restaurant to Foam Brewers (right next door). When we walked in there was a small wait but not bad. We headed over to the brewery to grab coffee and to check it out. It is definitely a cool spot. They have a huge selection of beer, a small wine program (who knew) and small bites. Unfortunately they did not have TVs or else we would've come back to watch the football game but we did purchase some beer before heading back over for brunch at Deep City. The menu here is a little more Mexican-forward think Huevos Rancheros, but there was still plenty of items that looked appealing. We split the banana bread with maple walnut cream cheese (to die for) to share as an app which was fresh and delicious. I also ordered a fruit cup which was also good. We then shared their Huevos Verdes which is similar to Huevos Rancheros except it came with a tomatillo salsa. It was good but very sloppy to eat. Overall it was a great experience, and service was phenomenal. A great brunch place while visiting Burlington VT.

First of all, they have a parking lot, which is free to park in, which was super convenient. The menu is interesting and everything sounded so good, including the daily features (duck hash, yum)! It made it super difficult to decide what to order, but we eventually settled on the biscuits and herb gravy, the across the pond, a side of the cheesy kale, the polenta breakfast dish, and the trout and eggs. Our server was super patient and kind and the food was amazing. I don't usually like biscuits and gravy that much, but their vegetarian gravy was so tasty. It reminded me a bit of broccoli cheddar soup in the best way, and the biscuits were flaky. I'd had the English breakfast plate at Penny Cluse before, and this one was even better. I loved the mushrooms and the sausage. The cornmeal crusted trout on the trout and eggs plate was crispy and not fishy at all, and the best trout I've ever tried. I loved that everything we ordered was so saucy since I'm a big sauce girl. This place is high on my list to revisit when I'm back in Burlington!

Poco was absolutely as good as the ratings suggest. We had 4 items... Grilled Carrots, Elote fritters, Dan Dan Noodles and wok fried shrimp. The carrots were multi-colored, gorgeous, and surrounded by delicious flavors and accompaniments including a yogurt-based sauce and a spicy chili oil. The Elote fritters were spicy and crispy, served moments after coming out of the fryer and topped with a chipotle blueberry sauce. The Dan Dan noodles were amazing. Typically Dan Dan noodles are made with ground pork but Poco's was made with mushrooms. The noodles were tender and a little thicker than I'm used to but felt freshly made. The flavor overall was savory and umami filled with a gentler heat than other Dan Dan's I've had. This was tied for the very best Dan Dan I've ever had and I try Dan Dan anytime it's on the menu at places I eat at. The wok fried shrimp were not a favorite of any of the 3 of us that had them but they were still quite interesting with a bracingly acidic sauce and crispy rice that had a texture that left me wondering how they did it. We dined on a Tuesday in April and were in a line waiting for them to open. The entire dining room was essentially seated immediately when they opened. Despite this, dishes and drinks started arriving very soon after we ordered and the pacing was great throughout the meal. If you go on a weekend or even a busy summer weekday you should be ready for a substantial line and they don't take reservations. Desert was ice-cream made in house and both the cinnamon and strawberry ice creams were beyond decadent and rich. The serving of 2 little golf ball sized scoops might look skimpy but this is powerful rich stuff and the serving is really all you probably want of such intense high fat ice cream.

Tonight the waiter or manager Matt or "long haired dude" in other post was insanely rude to me this evening. We waited an hour to get a table, expressed discomfort with the table and wanted to move. Anyways we wanted to switch to the bar, told us the bar stools were reserved (how can you reserve a bar stool if you don't accept reservations), then noticed a three top leave as I asked asked to move there as well, he rudely said he had another three top going there and there is no where he could put us, then finally more guest left and I was able to get us a seat at the bar. I was excited to finally change seats and he rudely put his arm out and said "we have to clean it first!!" There are ways you can go about things but he was insanely rude and unprofessional. Then I saw other guest who sat at that uncomfortable table also want to move (that's how shit of a table it was) and then to top it all off this person sat other two tops at three top tables that we were denied because we were a two top. For $70 for a cheeseburger, potato's, and soda I expect kind service. If I can stretch my arms out and touch the backs of guest at the bar and guest to my other side....
