Bought meat, forgave them the first time, but the second time, I had red meat on the ENTIRE crust, and 'packaged on the same day I bought it', but as soon I opened it, I could smell it!!, after I cut it open, I was astounded, the ENTIRE inside was brown, and I had bought this SIRLOIN at FULL price. This isn't the extent of it. I'd you thought checking your eggs to make sure none are broke is good practice, then avoid this store at ALL COST. Spend the extra 20 mins travel to Walmart or aldis, you will be SO HAPPY you did. This store is perfectly comparable to the upscale Vons stores we have in California: Shelves are very clean, product is always faced forward, and customer service is top notch. Attention to detail has become an art form for Art's. They have a bakery, deli, and meat department each serving the freshest food you can get. Way fresher than the big box chain stores which will go unnamed. It is a locally owned business so they really strive for quality! Great service. Could use more selections. Rotisserie chicken is very good. Never a line. Good DELI AND MEAT DEPARTMENT.

Not the cheapest place but I hope that means their employees get paid more than the Walmart down the road. The store is super tight inside and can cause shopping cart traffic when it's busy. Everyone was really nice and products were well stocked and clean. read more

I love love love Arts Store!!!! I live in San Diego, and my Mom and Dad used to live in Sandwich before they left for the Great Beyond. Sometimes I liked to send flowers, but couldn't afford these big corporate floral company rates. So for the cost of a grocery store bouquet, they'd bring the flowers to my mom at the nursing home! I've lived in Sandwich for ~22 years now and use to shop at Art's on a regular bases. It use to be a great little store where you find those special items you couldn't find at the large chain stores along with friendly and helpful locals who worked there. Over the years the quality of the help has seriously suffered along with the food they carry. What happened to the "good" twice baked potatoes? What happened to the friendly service? The people they have working there are downright rude and don't want to be there. I stopped going there on a regular bases and pop in on occasion to pick up items Wal-Greens doesn't have. Someone needs to call Art and tell him the truth about his store. read more

Make no mistake, I do like this store. They tend to carry items that you can't find/don't see anywhere else, great meat and bakery as well. However, the prices are outrageous. Now, don't get me wrong, I understand that little places like this in small towns are typically higher end by way of prices, and the quality is definitely worth the price tag...BUT--I have never seen more demeaning and disrespectful treatment of employees, not to mention in front of customers. There's no regard whatsoever for the employee's feelings or self worth in the least. Obviously not everyone is treated this way, and not all of the time...but in my opinion, once is way more than too many. For such a long standing, beloved part of the community, they definitely dropped the ball when choosing their managers. read more

Arts is an exceptional local grocery store and their staff are as helpful as you could ever hope for. I called from out of the US in the hope of finding a store who could deliver groceries to a family without transportation, Jewel didn't, Walmart didn't, but Arts does. I was able to email a list. They selected and delivered almost $150 of groceries to a home in Sandwich in less than 2 hours. They were polite, friendly helpful, provided suggestions and in general provided a service beyond my expectations. read more

I'm appalled at some of the help there. There is a certain cashier there (being a cashier myself and a former nurse, I hold my standards up there) she is always rude never asks how are you, or thank you. I was there and in front of a new employee point blank looked at her and said she had no time to spend with her she already had to much to do. I have not lived in Sandwich that long but with the high prices I try to avoid the store accept if a certain item has a great price or need to cash a check. I do love their Deviled Egg Potato Salad. read more
