I hired Artistic Refinishing in October 2024 to refinish my bathtub and wall. The work initially looked fine, but their communication and handling of the warranty has been extremely disappointing. Nearly a year later, when we began using the bathroom, I noticed chipping in the tub, which had never been used. Our Technician, Chris did an excellent job reglazing our old bathtub. He even caulked around the top and base of the tub. He left our bathroom clean with no overspray mess. Hello, I used this company last year for my kitchen cabinets and counters, as well as my master bath shower floor. They painted my counters from brown to white & within a couple months or so, the counter tops started to fade away, chip and you could start to see the brown underneath. When I purchased the service, I was told there is a one-year warranty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I got the service in June 2024, and I started contacting the company in November telling them what was occurring and asking for them to please provide a touch up, which should have been a part of the warranty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]All they did was text me continually asking questions and for pictures, I answered everything and sent the pictures.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The shower floor also looks awful already and it hasn't been one year since purchase. The technician did an ok job refinishing the tub, not the greatest quality. What was unacceptable is leaving a razor blade on a baby changing table. Why do I have to ask the tech for some paperwork showing I paid for the work and giving me the work guarantee? Then when he doesn't have it he tells me text him my email address and he'll have it emailed to me when he gets back to the office. Two days later still no paperwork and when I talk to Al (the owner?) he asks for my email address so he can send me the paperwork. Do these people not talk to each other? Fine, wait until the work is done and then tell me the price is 7-8% more than the quoted price if I use a credit card. Fine, use the toilet in the bathroom and don't flush it. Fine, don't put the shower doors back on. I was told over the phone the job would take 2-3 hours. It took 1 hour. The quality job reflected it. read more

We do not recommend Artistic Refinishing for any work. We hired the company to refinish the interior of our walk-in shower. After three months the walls started to peel, and bubble. We made a call and they sent a worker to respray the defective area. The repair lasted approximately 8 weeks before we noticed the walls started to peel and bubble again. We once again called the company and we're told a manager Al would come out to inspect the defective area. He came out and agreed the shower needed to be reglaze using a different paint. After several weeks we had no response to our phone calls, VM and email requests. When we call now the phone rings several times and disconnects. We have now contacted an attorney to handle this problem. The job is less than a year old and their owner Al McCabe does not stand behind his product or warranty. Do NOT Use this Company. I've emailed and called for something as simple as giving me the paint code for over a year now with no results. I would like to point out right away that there are certain things that artistic refinishing does well and there are certain things they do not do well. After 2 years my kitchen cabinets still look fantastic even though they've had things splattered on them, I've had to wipe them down and in a few areas that were minor scratches that were easy to fix on my own. Bathrooms and customer service are two of the things that artistic refinishing does not do well. My kitchen cabinets, shower and vanity and tub were all part of a purchase I made 2 years ago when I bought my condo. The vanity top still looks okay other than some minor scratches and it is held up well to standard cleaning on a weekly basis. Both the tub and the shower have a lot of issues. The tub is in a guest room and is used infrequently but there are still 3 big peeled areas in the center of the tub as well as peeling around the drain. My bigger concern is the shower that has peeled and cracked pretty much from the beginning. During one of the appointments for the touch up I was called and asked if we could reschedule because of an issue with the business. I told them I wasn't in a big rush and they could just call me to reschedule and I was assured they would. When no one called for 3 or 4 weeks I decided to call back. The owner's response was, if you wanted it done you should have called continuously until we sent somebody. I'm not sure how I feel about being told that it's my duty to pester them until they send someone. As you can see from the photos the peeling and cracking is pretty extensive even though artistic refinishing came out on two separate occasions to "touch up" the areas that were exposed. Unfortunately, touching up the areas does not prevent peeling and cracking in a new area and the touch-ups were with a paint color that was significantly a brighter white than the one that was used originally. The warranty is for five years and after the last touch up didn't work, I left an email and called asking for a complete redo of the shower since it was not holding up or a refund on the cost of the shower since I was going to have to do something else to fix it. I included photos. I did not hear back from the company at all. And that was many months ago. As you can see the peeling and cracking has just gotten worse and at this point I am going to have to retile. I don't think it's fair to ask a customer to call or email constantly to get a response when, believe you me, they responded right away to my original request for an estimate. Stick with cabinet tree and vanity tops and avoid flooring shower or bath tubs and you will probably be okay. read more

I had gotten my bathtub refinished a long long time ago and was really pleased with the finishes performance. I was pretty sure artistic did the job so I gave him a call and set up an appointment. The tech showed up within the appointment window and was very pleasant. We chatted for a few minutes before he got started. He was in and out and about I'd say 90 minutes. The result was just great no problems no mess. I gave them four stars because it's only been a couple of days so I'll change it to 5 in a couple of months if there's no peeling and everything is good but it looks just as good as it did last time I got it done. Good job Update 11 May Well I did have a problem. A portion of the coating begin to chip. I called artistic up and got voicemail left a message. The next day I called them again and got through. The contractor who came out to spray my bathroom vanity and mirror did a decent job, however the person answering their phone, a guy named Nick has refused after several requests to email me an invoice for this job. I now am at the point of thinking can this individual be forgetful or what is the problem. Can it be if he emails me an invoice, then the job they did for me has a warranty (they claim for 3 years), which they never intend to honor. This had to be one of the most unprofessional companies I had ever experienced. From communication to the skill we were left high and dry having to fix what they messed up. First, they did not cover the interior of the cabinets, so we were left with every dish, pot, glass, and remaining kitchen items covered in paint. Secondly, when they took down the tape they ripped our existing paint off walls (had to pay a painter to come in after a cleaning crew.), Third, the job looks bad as the pictures will reflect Forth reason is that they neglected to insulate the area when they sprayed and left us to inhale toxic fumes through-out the house and lastly, t add insult to injury the owner never even bothered to come to check out the workmanship nor did he respond to our complaint. They sent someone to my home to correct a few minor issues upon completion of the job, and he stood in my home and insulted me. You got paint on my floor, didn't paint a cabinet door all the way, marred my ceiling and you want to insult me? We didn't even discuss all my concerns because I asked him to leave after his insults. Correct the issues and move on; why throw insults and create a scene? I would not be leaving a negative review if they would have answered me, and sent someone to correct the issues. I had the tub and walls in a bathroom refinished by Artistic Refinishing in Boca Raton at a rental property I owned in August 2017 for $595. Within a year the walls were peeling and the tub was wearing in areas, it looked terrible and wasn't holding up as advertised. I called Artistic Refinishing and they came out and said they would refinish it again at half price for $280 since it didn't last. They said they would not refinish it for free as the tenants used Drano and a bathmat which voided the warranty. I agreed to this even though I did not feel those two reasons caused the walls to peel. I scheduled them to come out and when they arrived I got a another call saying that the walls look really ybad and they were only doing the tub for $280 and would I like the walls done as well which now would be the full normal price at $595. That was not what was agreed upon in writing and I was not willing to dump another $600 into something that didn't last the first time. This time they told me the work was not guaranteed because it was a rental property! That was never mentioned or an issue up until that point and they knew it was for a rental originally and when I called over a year later. The company told me they would not make any money on this if the did the whole thing for $280! Duh, you were fixing a problem not making a profit. Needless to say, I sent them away and do not recommend them or this process as a solution to updating your bathroom. It does not hold up! This company did not guarantee the work as advertised either! The first sign of trouble is that they will not allow you to pay with a credit card. So after the job is complete you have no recourse. Van was sent to paint our kitchen cabinets, which was a two day process. Upon his completion on the second day when we went to look at the job the first thing we noticed was that he left the painters tape on the ceiling. If the further review we found that he painted the sides of our new stove. We called the office and after about a week they sent someone else to clean the sides of the stove. As we started to pack the cabinets back we noticed globs of paint, areas that were Never painted and tape that was painted over on the cabinet door. A sign that he never sanded the doors between the primer and the final coats as was indicated on the work order. I called the company and hit they had him come back and verify our complaint. He said he spoke to a gentleman by the name of Al and they would get back to me which they never did. After I followed up with them they said Van back to correct his mistakes. He and another gentleman were here doing the work and as they were going along I kept checking periodically pointing out the things that they did not correct. Toward the end of the day both the gentleman walked into the garage and I waited a while but they did not return. Going into the garage to check on what they were doing I found that they just left. They left in such a hurry that they left their paintbrushes here. I called the company the only one that ever responded was the young lady who generally answers the phone. The man by the name of Al who is supposed to be the supervisor or the owner, I'm not sure never had the courtesy of professionalism to call. To this day I have not heard from anyone.
