Mike was great. The experience we had with Artistic Outdoor Lighting was first class. Mike came out after dark and set up a sample display of what we could expect our home to look like. This took all of the guesswork out of the equation. We knew exactly what we were getting. We feel we received the best quality products and a company that will stand behind their work. There was no need to look any further. read more

A DISASTER !! STAY AWAY Their team dug near the pool mechanicals and blew up the gas pipe, we started having a gas leak SAME NIGHT, Nicor gas and two contractors confirmed it's from the lighting work done. And instead of owning it or apologizing kept coming up with crazy theories. Lights were not even good, they install in the morning and have no idea how it'll turn out and was so arrogant on the phone until I showed him the pictures, only then they came to adjust it initially claiming it's at no additional charges but then send me another invoice. Update: the company is now actually having a defamation attorney threatening to sue me unless I take down the bad review and blackmail me into paying over the quoted price !! Guess that explains how there's only good reviews here. If you give them a bad review for a shitty job they threaten with litigations so people back out. Don't fall for it, see for yourself !! read more

I replaced all my path lights and some up lights with Artistic Outdoor. His prices seemed pretty fair. I also replaced some old timers, my house is almost 20 years old. Everything was done efficiently and he was able to finish by a deadline I had, which was really impressive because I contacted him last minute. I'm very happy with the work that was done and highly recommend them. read more

Mike and his team are great. We would highly recommend for any outdoor lighting project.

Mike did a wonderful job lighting the exterior of our 100 year old English tutor. His work is superior relative to the other landscape lighting I see around town. I'd highly recommend giving Mike a call. read more

Mike and his team do amazing work. He is personally involved in every step of the process from design to installation and follow up. His designs are very tasteful, and he only uses high quality lights that last for years. We installed his system at our previous house 15 years ago, and the lights still look brand new. This gave us the confidence to install his lighting system again when we moved to a new house earlier this year. read more

I found Artistic Outdoor Lighting on Google, and I am so glad that I did. Mike came out to the house and then spent almost an hour setting up temporary lights to show what the house could look like. I already had lighting in place, but was not happy with it. So I decided to award him the project and Mike's team was able to augment my current outdoor house lighting with new lighting. The end result is outstanding! I even have had some neighbors taking an evening stroll outside stop and stare at the house - likely admiring as to how well it's lit. Mike and his team did an amazing job and everything looks terrific. Very professional and super great to work with. read more

We recently had landscaping lighting installed at our new home, and the experience with Artistic Outdoor Lighting was nothing short of exemplary. Mike and his team were prepared, honest, and extremely professional throughout the quote and schedule process, and even came earlier to complete what seemed like a larger job without any issues in one business day. Having installed landscape lighting twice before in other homes, I know that Mike and team will be our future partners for any future work. Thanks again Mike & Team - the lighting is beautiful and the process was excellent! read more

Just finished our outdoor lighting project with Artistic Outdoor Lighting. Mike took his time to review our yard layout and offered suggestions on lighting positions based on what we were looking for. We had to re-schedule the installation day due to late snow and Mike made sure that they came back as soon as the snow melted. The final result was good looking lights surrounding our house for reasonable cost. Mike added 2 extra lights over what was quoted for free to ensure symmetry and proper light coverage. I highly recommend Artistic Outdoor Lighting for your yard lighting needs! read more

This company is so professional. Been working with them for years. Our first budget was not big and Mike was more than happy to help us out. We've since gone back and done additional work around our pool. Believe it or not, (it was a very cold windy day), he came out the day of contact and we had a quote in our hands within hours. Installation happened shortly thereafter and we couldn't be happier. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! read more

The owner Mike might be the hardest working and dedicated guy in the lighting business, and the result is a great customer experience. He was at our house for the quote setting up lighting for the demo, discussing the proposal, and on-site for the work. We installed 33 fixtures on several trees and walkways. Their products are high quality. Pricing is competitive and much more reasonable than other companies. We're very pleased with the system and overall process. Highly recommend Artistic for your lighting project. read more

We are a repeat customer very happy with the work we had done last fall. You will see a 5 star rating from us on the previous work in October, 2019. At the time, we broke down the project into to two (front and back). It's now time to complete the project. In March 2020, we shifted our attention to the side and back of our home. We live on a small lake and so we enjoy spending the majority of our time relaxing outdoors and lakeside. The new landscape lighting provides such a beautiful accent as well as great security too. It should be noted that this was all happening as the Pandemic was spreading in March and done before the apex in late April. I raise the point because Mike was very open in exercising great care and safety as a priority. We did a walkthrough with Mike and had some ideas of what we wanted. In the end, we relied on Mike for his special talent of incorporating our ideas with unique fixtures and just the right placement to pull it all off and more. We would be remiss if we didn't recognize the installation team. They were certainly here when they said they would be. Even more so, the quality of the work, neatness, cleanup and friendliness were all top notch. You can easily see that they take pride in whet they do. They didn't completely finish in one day so they returned the next day to finalize the work. In the end, it all looks great and we couldn't be happier that Artistic Outdoor Lighting are our go-to people. BTW, you can tell by all the other high ratings that they are the best of the best. We researched a number of companies, spoke to a few and hands down selected Artistic Outdoor Lighting as the best and we are so glad we did. First and foremost, what makes Mike and the team so much better is they are articulate when it comes to a lighting design plan. Obviously, most will need consider landscape plantings and trees. But they go beyond the basics when considering placement such as what elements on house should be lit and what shouldn't. They understand the shadow effect of lighting and in the end work to create a balance in the design. When lighting a house, many others use obtrusive fixtures hanging from the peak. In contrast, Mike planned for mini fixtures affixed to the gutter that you don't see but nicely light upwards to the peak instead of down for a softer, subtle more elegant look. When installing they take such great care in what they do. They are neat, orderly and take pride in what they do as if it were their own. We are so impressed that they deliver more than the average out there. So save yourself the time and effort when searching, these guys are the best! read more

Mike has done two of our homes. He comes out to give you a visual idea of how the lights will look. A big plus is that Mike doesn't try to oversell lighting when it's not needed. Less is more & very competitive pricing. Highly recommended! read more

Our neighbors used Artistic Outdoor Lighting and we loved what the lighting looked like on their home. We decided to add lighting to our home and it turned out amazing. The initial consultation was helpful and the installers set everything up in a matter of hours. We had our backyard done by another company and the lights were flimsy. Artistic Outdoor Lighting used high quality lights with easy to use setup. I was told that they even adjust to Daylight Savings. I would highly recommend this company. Other neighbors have complimented us on the lights. Outdoor lighting really makes a difference. We were very pleased with our experience and the work. It makes our home and landscaping look great at night and I think it's added security because our yard is not pitch black at night. Trees looks fabulous with the lighting as well. read more

I never write reviews but really wanted to after our installation! We have a large lot and we had Mike do our front yard, some pathway lighting on the side of the house and the back of the house. Mike absolutely listened to what we wanted and made it look so beautiful! What makes Mike stand out is his evening presentation of lights. Why is he the only lighting guy that does this? It was fantastic and gave us a true feel for what our lighting would look like. His whole operation is A+ and I would recommend him over and over again! read more

Mike and team recently completed a project on both our back and front yards and we could not be happier. I know there is only one other Yelp review, but we had the complete opposite experience with Mike. He met us at our house, was totoally upfront with the pricing, his service, how he operates and then walked the yard giving us great suggestions. He was very busy but was able to make it out to our house within a couple of weeks and his crew of two guys did an incredible job. Not only did they dig and hide all wires, they were great guys who made suggestions and were patient and dilliegent. After the install, I realized there was a mis-communication about another light on a tree. I felt bad calling Mike and having him come all the way back out to Highland park, but a couple of days later, his guys came back out and added the light. We lit out front and back yard as well as had lights installed on pergola and patio. All in all, I could not be more happy with the service and end result. And, just to note, I found Mike from Angies List where they have a ton of almost all positive reviews. read more

Mike and his team are top notch. The demo was terrific and really showed us how adding some lighting would enhance both our house and the trees in our yard. We contacted three companies seeking ideas/proposals for installing lights in our newly installed pergola. Owner Mike Potucek came out to provide his recommendations. Mike is clearly very knowledgeable about outdoor lighting and is passionate about his work. Mike provided his recommendation to install 9 low voltage LED solid brass light fixtures with stainless steel transformer. Mike noted he could place our existing lights which illuminate our trees and patio bricks into the new transformer. The lights automatically come on at dusk and turn off at the time of our choice. Mike and his team of two arrived on the agreed upon date and, as predicted, they had the lights installed in about 3 hours. The team took the time to hide the wires as much as possible and space the lights to provide appropriate coverage. Mike and his team went over the operation of the system and ensure all of our questions were answered. The work area was cleaned up and the table/chairs restored to their pre-installation location. The lights themselves are impressive and add a very good ambiance to the pergola/yard. The lights only illuminate the intended area and do not overwhelm the rest of our yard. We were so impressed with the experience that we asked Mike for an estimate for installing lights on the front of our house. Our overall experience was very positive-from Mike, to Kim in the office who responded to e-mail questions quickly and completely to the crew who assisted Mike. If you are looking to install outdoor lighting, contact Artistic Outdoor Lighting--I suspect you will be very pleased with the results. read more

Artistic outdoor lighting and Mike, the owner, were fabulous to work with. Mike came out and did a night time demonstration that really helped me see what the end product would look like. I felt Mike's pricing was competitive and fair. They arrived at my house within two weeks of signing the contract and did a great job on the installation. There was no disruption to my current landscaping - I couldn't even tell they had trenched lines into my lawn and surrounding areas. Mike's fixtures are top notch quality. The end result was a backyard illuminated beautifully - I will enjoy it for many years to come. Thanks Mike - I would recommend Mike and Artistic Outdoor Lighting to anyone! read more
