I asked every time I visited what my copay was at the front desk (or for a rough estimate). Not once was I given an answer or even an estimate. Chava Sheilds did absolutely nothing but have me wait in the waiting room, leave early to pick up her kid, tell me to read/listen to an audio book, and showed me a YouTube video. The only slightly helpful thing she did give me, was a blader schedule homework, and a 5 min physical evaluation, which came with no new exercises, that I wasn't already doing on my own before seeing her. She provided no help what-so-ever and billed me a month later $1,200.00 for the three sessions. They do this knowing you have PPO ...and knowing the patient hasn't met the PPO deductible. Her manager even admitted that they knew it would be high but not an exact amount which is why I wasn't told. But with how crappy and drawn out the sessions were, not receiving any help... I wouldn't have paid or gone knowing I was going to be charged any substantial amount larger than a specialist copy of $80... and that's' being generous for her time (not anything she did). So glad I couldn't book her weekly like she wanted me too! ABSOLUTE GARBAGE OF A BUSINESS AND SCAMMY TACTICS.

She loves going in and always wants to rush through the door! I am confident that the techniques they use during her sessions work and allow her to express herself better every day. We were then scheduled with Melissa the clinical manager. During that conversation, the provider recommended that the sessions take place at their facility. We clearly declined and explained that we wanted the initial session to occur in our home. After communicating that preference, the appointment was rescheduled. As parents, coordinating therapy appointments requires planning, adjusting work schedules, and arranging childcare. The repeated delays, staff turnover, poor communication, and last-minute scheduling changes showed a complete lack of respect for our time. What should have been a straightforward onboarding process turned into weeks of frustration. If reliability, organization, and communication are important to you, this was not our experience with this provider.

My recovery, however, was not so great. For over two months I was seen by physical therapists 2-3 times a week. I was still on pain medicine and had little movement. After 2-3 weeks of seeing her, I was able to start getting the pain relief I needed and finally some movement back in my thumb, hand and wrist. The thing about hand/wrist/thumb surgery is that most people honestly don't comprehend how excruciating the pain or process of healing can be, but Lisa does. She not only understands it, she studies it. She continues to try new innovative ways of getting each individual back up and moving again. Some therapy places can be stale and tiresome. A year ago, our 22-month old boy had plenty of feeding issues: didn't know how to chew solid food,…read moredidn't know how to swallow anything but puree foods, and didn't like eating in general - so each of his meals usually lasted about an hour. He didn't know how to finger or spoon feed himself, and didn't even want to try to touch anything that was in his plate. Later we were informed that he was not only phobic about food, but about new textures and tactile sensations in general: he was very cautious with new toys, he avoided touching leaves and stones in the park, and cried whenever he had to step on the sand at the beach. Naturally, that made him very reserved towards any exposure to new environments, new influences, new contacts, and new people around him - which influenced his social and verbal skills. As first-time parents, we were extremely worried. We contacted the Westside Regional Center and they recommended an individual occupational therapy with a charming, self-confident and extremely skillful young therapist named Roxanne Benjamin. She tactfully introduced us to the issues our boy was facing, patiently explained the therapy stages we were about to go through, encouraged us to actively participate in them - and very soon achieved something no other but us had before: she won our son's sympathies! Fast forward twelve months later: our boy just turn 3 and has zero feeding issues now. He bites, chews, swallows, feeds himself, enjoys various types of food, and even has his favorite tastes... He's also eager to play with new toys, enjoys discovering new textures, and loves being exposed to new environments. On top of everything, he turned into a very social person and talks like a five-year old!
