After reviewing a number of places offering dance lessons, we decided to go with Studio M for one…read morereason: Giovanni!! Before we booked, we had a free consultation with him and he made sure to ask all the right questions to get a good feel of what we wanted to do for our wedding dance: what kind of music we liked, what our experience is, what kind of dress I was wearing, etc. He even offered to remix some songs together if we didn't have a single song in mind. He wanted to make sure that we were comfortable with whatever dance happened. He's also Italian and we're having our wedding in Italy, so it felt like fate to meet him! We ended up booking 10 lessons with Giovanni. After we decided on a song, within the first lesson, we already had a good 30 seconds choreographed. He was patient with us both, as neither of us had dance experience, and he really listened to us on what we were comfortable doing. He also shortened our song choice so that our first dance was within a reasonable timeframe. Within 4 lessons, our entire dance was choreographed! We spent the rest of the lessons perfecting, tweaking, and refining every possible moment! It really put us at ease for when we finally hit the dance floor. Another really awesome thing about Giovanni is that since he does a lot of weddings, he is always thinking about a number of things to make sure that the dance is beautiful, but also that the photos captured are perfect! He took a lot of videos for us so we can watch and practice at home. He also made sure to tell us when we'd have good "photo moments" where we should perfect our poses for the quick moment our photographer will have to snap a pic. And he even recommended sending a video to our photographer with recommendations on photo moments, so the photographer can get familiar with the dance ahead of time. In general, Giovanni is so kind, patient, and incredibly fun to be around and we cannot recommend him enough as a wedding dance instructor!!

From the very first lesson, he made us feel comfortable, confident, and most importantly, he made it fun. His upbeat energy, patience, and expert instruction turned what could have been a stressful part of wedding prep into one of our favorite memories leading up to the big day. Giovanni was so easy to communicate and schedule with, and his enthusiasm (and charming Italian accent!) always had us smiling. We took five lessons at Studio M, which is a beautiful space with easy parking, and every session felt like a mix of progress and pure joy. We truly could not have had a better instructor. Giovanni made our experience so memorable and meaningful, and we'll cherish these moments forever. We are endlessly grateful for him and highly recommend him to anyone looking to make their first dance and the process leading up to it something special.

My 9-year-old daughter attended Dance Affair Studio and performed in their Winter Recital of 2025,…read moreand I couldn't have been more impressed. From the moment we walked in, it was clear how supportive, organized, and professional the staff and instructors are. The instructors do an incredible job of balancing discipline with encouragement, helping the kids build confidence while genuinely enjoying what they're doing. Watching my daughter perform, I could clearly see how much growth she's had--not just in technique, but in confidence and stage presence--and that credit absolutely goes to the training and care she receives here. The recital itself was well run, thoughtfully choreographed, and showcased each dancer in a way that made them feel proud of their hard work. As a parent, it means a lot to see a studio that truly invests in its students. I'm very grateful to the entire Dance Affair team for creating such a positive environment and for helping my daughter shine on stage. Highly recommend to any parent looking for quality dance instruction and a supportive community.

We returned to Dance Affair because it is the exact opposite! We get personalized feedback and recommendations on what next level classes would be. I get a feeling that the owners and teachers really care about my daughter's development. My daughter now wants to take more and more classes after being somewhat turned off dance at the other studio.

My husband and I reached out to DanceBasic for dance lessons for our first dance. Jenn responded…read morethe next day and helped us schedule lessons. She worked with us to choreograph a dance to our first dance song and tailored it according to what we were comfortable with along with our dance skills (none). She was incredibly friendly and flexible with scheduling our lessons when we weren't able to make it on the initial proposed dates. Working with her made us less nervous and she was very encouraging even though dancing was new to us. As we practiced more, Jenn incorporated more elements if she felt that we could handle it and I'm really glad she was so encouraging and helpful because we would have just ended up swaying on the dancefloor to the beat, which would have been fine but not as impressive. Even though we kept our dance rather simple, we had so many guests compliment us on our dance and tell us how elegant and professional it looked. I loved working with Jenn and would absolutely encourage anyone looking for a wonderful and unforgettable first dance to work with her!

She was so sweet, quick to respond, and created the choreography for our two requested songs, Everything by Michael Buble and The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. We didn't have any dance experience so she took time to walk us through the dance moves and had us practice until we were comfortable. She has a bubbly personality and was super patient with us, which made the lessons more fun and enjoyable. Thank you for being a part of our special day!

I cannot recommend this dance studio for parents looking to lift up young girls…read more My daughter was interested in Kpop dancing, and is in an awkward bubble age of being too old (~10) for the "mini" class and at the cusp of too young for the"Junior" pre-teen class. She definitely isn't a great dancer, but she practices and tries her hardest. This is just a fun class for girls, not elite or comp. Things started off well but then she started leaving with tears in her eyes. She says that the teacher was leaving her out of the routine and so she was sitting around most of the time, not understanding why. No explanation. I urgently asked for a callback to understand the situation. No callback. I asked the teacher, Mr Garret, next week in person. He says she wasn't getting it but he would include her more. I asked him to speak to her about her so she could feel supported and understand and how she can improve. He says he didn't have time to talk to her and said he would next week. He never did. Not excusable. My daughter continued to come back with tears in her eyes. She says that 2 other girls were giggling and laughing when she made a mistake. She didn't want to make a fuss or quit before the performance. The performance came, and she fell behind in the rehearsal. She told me a few days later that everyone laughed at her. She just did box breathing to focus and did great in the performance. It was a proud moment for our family. *I then receive an email saying that she needs to go to the class where she is overaged OR just take the SAME class but on a different day to free up space for a better dance*. Reason: she wasn't dancing well enough; wasn't fitting in socially; the class was "full" and she's kicked out. Wait, she's still being invited to the same skill but on a different day despite being a bad dancer? I was shocked and disappointed. Instead of optimizing for the culture of the class, they instead optimize against the student for not fitting in. She's not a great dancer, but she's young, tried hard, and was trying to fit in even with tears in her eyes every day. We have dropped Purdance with no hesitation and she now uses her experience as her way of being able to hold her breath to perform amidst an unsupportive environment.
