The installation on the other hand is ridiculously amateurish. Where the counter turns at the elbow of the counter does not line up with the corner at all. The wall/sink side was made entirely too short, resulting not just in the corner not lining up but also in the extra wide top of the backsplash. Cartoonish-ly wide top of the backsplash, it is significantly wider than the top of the rest of the backsplash. The reveal on the wall/sink side is barely over the edge of the counter, showing most of my drawer pulls on the long L side the drawer pulls cannot be seen at all. The difference in the reveals is almost an inch. When my husband called him today, he said I should have said something yesterday. I didn't say anything yesterday because 1.) I tend to be very harsh and do not temper my words well, 2.) my husband was not home and had not seen it yet, 3.) I am not a countertop maker or installer and wanted to discuss it with my husband to first to make sure that I was not being unreasonable, 4.) I would expect a professional to SEE that he was doing a horrible job, stop and fix it. #4 is my mistake, I presumed he knew what he was doing. Another reason for the low stars, he stood me up for my first appointment to discuss countertops, he didn't bring any samples for the type of countertop I wanted because he didn't ask my husband what we were looking for during the initial phone conversation, he said I would receive my countertops in approximately 3 weeks, it was twice that, he made an appointment me with us for the 23rd but when we called to confirm he said he thought it was for the 30th. I had to reschedule with the plumber, I am happy we called to confirm or he would have stood me up again. On the 30th, I was told 10ish he called at 10 to say he was running late, he arrived after 11:15. He clearly does not value other people's times. I love my countertops, but I am horrified by the installation.

Then we came across Kitchen and Bathroom Transformation at the Sacramento Home Show and decided to see if they had another option. We spoke with Megan--who was incredibly helpful--and she confirmed they could cover our existing wooden tabletop with their stone coating. The price was about one-third of what we were quoted for a solid quartz piece, and it would be much lighter, which was another concern of mine. We scheduled an appointment and brought the tabletop in. After choosing a color that matched our existing counters almost perfectly, Megan told us it would be ready in just a couple of hours. We grabbed lunch and explored Chico, and sure enough, a few hours later we got a call that it was finished. Once we brought it home and reattached it to the base, it looked amazing. Thank you for the wonderful work--we absolutely love it!

I'll let these pictures speak for themselves…read more These were taken a week after the install of new granite countertops in our laundry room. They are not wet from the saw. Ric says he's seen this before, that it's glue the installers didn't remove during install. If it's been seen before why is this still an issue? Why did the installer leave my home with counters looking like this? Just. Wow. In addition they slopped shiny silicon in the cracks of the backsplash on a matte granite. I don't know how they're going to fix it or when. We're still waiting for any communication to tell us when and how they're going to fix this. If it gets fixed I'll update the review to reflect such. Right now, of course I can't recommend them. Completely unacceptable. Update: still no call about fixing it. Why do we have to chase them down when they messed up? Horrible customer service. And not even the slightest apology yet for the trouble. We have to take another day off work and my contractor is pushed back further thanks to this.
