Our 110 year-old hardwood and Douglas-fir floors needed refinishing. Mike and his crew did a very professional job in completing 1300 square feet of floor and 13 stairs in one week. The floors look beautiful. They were prompt and very efficient. They protected the wood wainscoting where it joined the floors with nary a scratch. Mike went above and beyond for my wife and I from the very beginning. Not only was his quote for refinishing very fair, but he offered several options for finish types, and while he offered his opinion on what he thought would look best, he did not pressure us in any particular direction. We also had some funky quarter round separating our hardwood from our tile entryway, and he removed that for us, and finished and installed some new risers which we had purchased. In addition to delivering a quality final product (our floors look amazing!), Mike also helped us immeasurably by providing a reference for a quality fencing contractor when we were having trouble finding one. Our refinished wood floors look awesome thanks to Mike and his crew at Altered State Restorations. From start to finish there was great communication with Mike. After tearing out carpeting in a 1955 built house we discovered the original wood floors were in pretty good shape, but there were a few pet stains. Mike told us the stains could be hard to remove, and gave us options just incase (staining the floor or replacing the boards). Fortunately, they were able to make the stains barely noticeable and we were able to keep the original flooring. In less than a week they refinished a large living room, three bedrooms and hallway for a very reasonable price. Worth every penny! read more

Wow, just wow. These guys did such a great job on my floors. I have a 1933 home with floors that were covered in random paint splotches, stains, staples, with big gaps between boards. They repaired a large area, seamlessly feathering in new boards to match the old. They filled the gaps between all the old boards and sanded it down to look as good as new, while retaining the character you want with hardwood. They left my place looking spotless and were wonderful with communication throughout the job. I highly recommend. read more

Throughout working with Mike of Altered State Restorations, he has been professional and accommodating. Mike was quick to contact me back after my initial call and came by to give an estimate within the same day. When he was giving the estimate and talking to us about his ideas for work on our floors, he was extremely knowledgeable and explained our options to us. I thought he really knew what he was saying and doing. Even though we had other estimates for the job, I liked the way Mike treated us with respect and gave us the knowledge to make an informed decision (can't necessarily say that of some of the other places we got estimates from). He even followed up with me a few days later, which I greatly appreciated as life got busy and I needed the prompt. Once we decided to go with his services, he was also able to provide his guidance to us in getting some other supplies we needed quickly. He went above and beyond from what we thought he would do for us to help us make a decision we felt good about. Once he got started (and he was ready to start within a few more days from when we got the estimate), he took only a day to compete our floors (though we had a fairly light job). He was accommodating to us and our schedule to figure out when he could work, and he again gave clear instructions about how to care for our floors after he was done. Our floors look brand new again!
