I specifically told Allan that I was concerned the job would be rushed if it started that late and asked him to make sure quality wasn't sacrificed just to get it done. He assured me multiple times that the work would not be rushed and that everything would be done properly. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened. The steps were essentially slapped back together with little attention to detail. Boards were misaligned, gaps were inconsistent, and sections of the steps were installed directly against the shingles instead of being properly fitted and finished. After I raised concerns, Allan promised the issues would be corrected and personally assured me everything would be made right. Based on those assurances, I gave the company a second chance. After the crew returned, communication stopped and my text messages went unanswered. When I eventually returned home and inspected the work, the steps were in even worse condition. The PVC decking was scratched and damaged, and the installers drove screws directly through the decking without properly pre-drilling for the matching plug system. As a result, the holes couldn't even be plugged afterward, leaving an unacceptable finished product. In hindsight, I should have terminated the project after the initial installation and walked away from the deposit instead of giving the company a second chance. Unfortunately, the corrective work was worse than the original installation. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend using a different contractor.

The company provided an estimate to install gutters, we agreed to the terms, and the job was scheduled. On the first installation date, they did not show up and did not call. The job was rescheduled. On the second date, again, there was no show and no call. We then rescheduled a third time and were given an absolute assurance that the installation would take place. Once again, the company failed to appear. By that point, the project had been delayed approximately one month, and I had taken multiple days away from other responsibilities specifically to be home for the installation. On the morning of the third missed appointment, I contacted the owner. Rather than apologizing or attempting to resolve the situation professionally, he laughed and told me, "It's not happening today, buddy." When I explained that three missed appointments without notice were unacceptable and that I had rearranged my schedule repeatedly based on their commitments, the conversation became aggressive and included foul language from the owner. After terminating that conversation, we subsequently received a text asking whether we wanted to schedule yet another installation date. At that point, we had no confidence left in the company. Three separate no-shows without proper communication, repeated assurances that were not honored, and the owner's response when confronted about the situation made this one of the most frustrating contractor experiences we have had. Our concern ultimately went beyond scheduling. If a company cannot reliably communicate, keep appointments, or handle a legitimate customer complaint professionally before the work even begins, it raises serious questions about what kind of response a customer could expect if there were ever a workmanship, warranty, or follow-up issue after installation. We chose not to proceed with Cape Cod Gutters. Based solely on our experience, we found the company unreliable, extremely difficult to communicate with, and lacking the level of professionalism we expect from a contractor.

Dan saw the house and listened to our concerns. He came back with a list of things to clean, including our shed, deck, front brick steps and the four walls of the house. Cleaning was a fraction of re-shingling the house and the place looks amazing! I had a concern that the shed, which is not in the heat of conditions as it turns 15 this spring, would not hold up to a power washing. Dan said that they had a soft pressure system that they would use on it to ensure it wasn't damaged.
