Calls were responded to quickly by Drew Cazault. Ciaran, the Project Manager was on site and knowledgeably explained the roofing process and answer any concerns I had. He also checked in regularly with the crew. Fernando, the Foreman of the crew, should be very proud of his team. They are very skilled and have a remarkable work ethic. They ensured the yard around the garage was protected. They also tarped the interior of the garage and at the end of the day there was no sign they had ever been here. I hired Rose's Cleaning to clean the carpet in the one room in the house that has carpeting. It's a…read moresmall room and they were able to fit us in last minute. Great! I spoke to Jim on the phone to book the service, and he was really friendly and helpful. He said his wife Rose would be in touch with a quote after I texted some pictures of the room. I don't know who I was texting with in the end. They quoted me $100. The two workers arrived right on time, were very polite, and did a beautiful job! However, they spoke no English and used a phone app to communicate. (You speak into the phone, they read the Portuguese that's generated, then they speak into the phone and it spits out English. Who knows how accurate it is.) I lived in a foreign country for 6 years and while I wasn't fluent, I had basic proficiency in the language... admittedly I worked in an industry where people spoke English, but for day-to-day things I was glad I could read and handle basic conversations. (This was pre-smart phone.) I'd love to hire Rose's Cleaning for their organizing service, but can't imagine how you'd do that with someone you couldn't talk to. They get good reviews for that, so maybe I'll try it. I'm skeptical but interested. If all you need is cleaning it probably doesn't matter that you can't communicate without a phone translator.
