I personally did not hire JRD for landscaping & tree service but had a bad experience when they were hired to cut my neighbor's trees. On May 9, 2023, when JRD cut my neighbor's tree, they neglectedly dropped the branches of the trees onto my yard, onto my lilac and hydrangeas. When I first saw that happened, I came talk to the team for them to be mindful that I had several plants in that area and please do not drop broken trees on top of my plants. Noted I was not notified in advance this was happening nor there was my permission at all for all of this to happen on my property. As a result, several of my hydrangeas were broken to over half of their size, and same as the lilac. It is now 1/3 of the size of its twin sister on the other side of my house. I am now questioning my rights on my possessions located inside my own property! I contacted the owner right then and he said would have my plants replaced. Today, over a month after I contacted him, I never had any plant replaced and he did not respond after several follow up. read more

Ok since this is my 2nd experience with them, I will again say I would 100% recommend this company, and I would rehire again. Earth needs trees, but we don't get enough sun light in Massachusetts. I had a huge maple tree in my yard blocking all the sun we could get which makes my yard bugs/insect friendly in the summer cuz it's shady, trust me it's a nuissance and I'm all set with mosquitoes , so I wanted that tree gone and a few other things done (prune, grinds,bush etc). I called 4 companies, 2 off them was just WAY overcharging, inflation has times hard for consumers and businesses, but I believe, if keep your price fair and you'll get return customers and recommendations. JRD gave the better price out of all of them. These days, most contractors are no call no show or no response. JRD showed up the day and time he said they would. These men worked really hard and they cleaned up nice. I would definitely recommend. I'm happy with the work. read more

These guys are rockstars. We had a big job, 7 tree removals, 4 cleanings and they just knocked it out the park. So professional, friendly, responsive - just great. They even needed to access our neighbors driveway to clean up two trees - arguably a super stressful point in the job for me as a homeowner as they were off our property, but they worked with our neighbors, were incredibly fast, and cleaned up our yard and theirs. We made the right call with JRD. We needed some yard work done that included removal of a dead 30' tree that was in danger of losing large limbs onto a public road. The JRD team showed up on time and made short work of the job. I could not believe how efficiently they worked together to remove the tree. In addition to the tree removal we also had JRD trim a 40' row of hedges to a manageable height. Again, the crew worked hard to make sure the hedges were evenly cut and all of the clippings were removed. The last portion of the job was the tree stump grinding as well as the grinding of the hedge stumps. Everything was done as agreed to and the crew left the area looking great. Jose called me back and did estimate very quickly and came out to do the job within 2 weeks. Would have been sooner but had rainy weather which delayed things. They did an amazing job! The whole crew was super friendly and pleasant but efficient. They removed 4 large trees which were dead/dying so tricky for the crew to safely cut down. They ground down the huge stumps and did some other work as well as pruning a few trees. Would not have known they were here they cleaned up so well. Best part was my slider screen door was damaged and they replaced it without comment! Jose called and came over without me even bringing it up....that's professional business practice right there! I can't recommend JRD Tree & Landscaping enough! When I searched for tree companies and Landscapers, 50% never returned my calls. And 50% of the ones that did ghosted me and never showed up for their appointment! Jose is the most reliable contractor I've come across. He responds promptly, shows up when he says he will, and his prices are good! And because of that, he's always the first one I call now. read more

As another reviewer experienced I heard nothing from them via email. Then I sent an email asking when I would hear from them and I received a phone call and made an appointment with Jose I believe his name was. He told me he would come and give me a quote. I was happy since it's been hard to have anyone return inquiries. He cancelled the morning of within a half hour of the appointment which I was ok with because atleast I got a message. Then he told me if I want to get someone else he understands as I already told him that looking for someone to be my new landscaper and having no one returning any of my messages has been difficult and I let him know my frustration. He said he would probably be able to come the next day as I told him it's ok to let me know when he can come. He said he would text me to set up a time and I never heard back. Allergies this year was the worst. My weeds,lawn, trees and shrubs were out of control. In addition I needed 2 dead tall trees removed that were threatening to fall on my house. I called many landscapers and they didnt call me back. Two actually no showed when they told me they were on their way. With the assistance of another tree company which Jose arranged, they were able to remove the tree, grind down the stump and fix my patio that was being torn up by the tree roots. It looks fantastic! He came and we looked at the job, a large branch of a tree had fallen on my neighbors fence, landing in their yard. We agreed on a price and the next morning the work was done.
