First of all, the most important thing about a coffee place is that the coffee must be good. Artisan delivers on this. Second, food and bakery items. I've only had scones and one of the sandwiches, but they were tasty and priced appropriately. Third, the space is just relaxingly funky and eclectic. Plenty of seating with all different styles of tables and chairs. Play area for kids. Meeting room. My only wish is that this was located in Green rather than Ellet. It's a perfect response to those who think coffee begins and ends with corporate chains. read more

Stopped in tonight to pick up a salad and what a nice surprise! First, I ordered a cobb salad and it was amazing! So fresh, large and flavorful! Then, while waiting in line to pick it up, there were spectacular fresh baked treats aligning the counter. We chose the Raspberry Lime Scones. Holy cow, amazing! I also ordered a Turtle Mocha coffee, and it was crazy good! Oh, did I mention that there was a three piece jazz band playing in the corner the whole time! What a neighborhood gem! Wow this place is awesome! I finally checked it out last week with my daughter who's been raving about it for a long time! The coffee, the muffins and the grilled cheese sandwich with pesto were excellent. Everything about this place was perfect, the service, the ambiance, the coffee and the food. I live a few blocks away from Artisian Coffee, and hallelujah for that! The ambiance of the place is nothing short of feeling right at home. Soft chairs, sofa couches, good size area, private area, fireplace, children's section with toys included, board games, card games for family, and friends. Workers are super friendly, and everyone is absolutely enjoying themselves!! I take my son there a lot. He gets hot chocolate, dad gets coffee. Also, great soups, pastries, sandwiches etc.. My son, and I like to play the game Jenga by the fireplace. It's a must see, and enjoy place. Happy to have them......so close!! Thanks guys! read more

We found Artisan online and drove across town. The space is great - clean, cool decor, plenty of room to sit. The service was exceptional. Bridget in particular was very informative. We ordered a latte and a lavender (upon a recommendation) latte. They were exceptional. Gluten free muffin and lemon scone were very good too. I've not experienced a place like this outside of Chicago. I wish it was closer to home. read more

When walking into the little coffee shop, you enter a whole other world. I felt as if it was one of those good vibe playlists but in real life. The coffee is excellent, from your typical espresso drinks, to the roasted coffee from different countries. The pastries are made right here, all of which seem to be made by what it taste like is your grandmas best cooking. The staff is very helping and willing almost as if this is the alpha of chic fil a employees. The music is excellent and sets a great mood and not too loud so you can gossip with the boys while enjoying a wonderful French toast latte(my favorite). Outlets are everywhere so it is a perfect place to study for hours or sit on one of their couches and read a nice manifesto. Such an inviting place that I will frequent it often. read more

Surprisingly, as of late there are a lot of coffee houses in the akron area, This particular location has had a lot of identities. It has been at least two restaurants one of which was my favorite. This is it's newest identity. Look, in all honesty this place probably does well because its one of the only none starbucks coffee houses in that area of akron. It's huge inside... and a little too open... I think a lot of what makes a coffee house fun is the cozy feeling. Comfortable furniture, closeness of things. Often in coffee houses i find myself talking to strangers because they are siting on the same couch or table next to me. That is not remotely possible here... You could drive a semi truck through the empty space. Most coffee houses, even starbucks offer alternate options other than coffee or coffee related items. I.E. Smoothies. They had nothing..... They looked confused and totally lost when I asked. I felt like I was getting in their way just by asking. They have an odd room available for rent that was full of high schoolers... ummmmmm....oooookkkkkkkaaaaaaayyyyyy..... the place had more high schoolers, and even kids than actual adults? umm isn't a coffee house supposed to be for the young hip professional... not families... Their pastry selection is border line insulting... I remember when i was younger that coffee houses were good not only for their coffee but pastries. Good in house pastries many of which were unique. This were the typical pastries at a starbucks, in fact less selection... The only thing that looked good was called a children's cookie? Why is the only tempting thing for an adult the children's cookie? When you drink coffee. You want something more sweet than savory I think. The people working there were a bit uneducated and a bit like they really didn't care. A little education and smile can go a long way. They had a children's play area as well... okay again this is a tad bit odd for a coffee house... this building is much better suited for a restaurant and I feel that once the ooooo its new feeling goes away from this place it will not last long. I am sorry I want to like this place, i really do... but... i dunno.... its blah... akron is better than blah.......... i think this place can do better than blah.... O they have food... I didn't have any... cause I would have had nothing but coffee to drink...... lol.... ugh logistics sometimes. read more

Food average for coffee shop. My milk was scalded, not steamed. Place full of noisy teenagers. They have a kids play area where there were little ones screaming. Has a very trendy feel. Maybe it will mellow a bit after surviving being a fad. Good note was that it was clean. read more

Ellet has needed a place like this! After my first visit, Starbucks is no longer in my vocabulary. Their pastries are made fresh every day and I love that they change them daily, you never know what they are going to have. My husband grew up in Seattle, WA and we haven't been able to find a place like a Seattle cafe until we stepped into Artisan. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff is AMAZING!!! The interior is well done. They thought through the details and created something cool. From the paper roll sandwich menu to the repurposed bar stools to the white subway tile back splash wall. It's clean, feels stylish, hip without being twee. I ordered a lavender latte drink and it had a natural, not excessively syrupy in flavor. They roast their own beans on premises so next time I'm going with a simple coffee, espresso, or something along those lines. I was there during off hours and it was busy. read more

Hands down, this is the best coffee shop in the area. It took me a few times to realize it. Their iced lattes are amazing. The staff is always very friendly and willing to make changes to your drink to make it exactly how you want. The atmosphere is great and their decor makes it feel cute and cozy. Their omelette is one of the best I've had. I have also tried their Cobb and strawberry salads. Both were good, but I preferred the Cobb. The only areas of improvement I can think of would be their parking lot, opening up on Sundays, food service (it's usually pretty slow), and lowering food prices. read more

Artisan coffee is a breath of fresh air to the Ellet area I wished for years that a place like this would come to the area. the atmosphere is great the people that work at artisan are great! And very accommodating. They have an awesome rustic dining area. And a very nice business/conference room, that can be reserved for meetings. I stopped in with two friends because it looked good on-line - we were actually on our way somewhere else - and we ended up getting lunch as well as coffee. The coffee is superb, of course. We tried the lavender latte and enjoyed it, along with the salmon tacos and the cauliflower tabouleh we just couldn't resist, and the blood orange sorbet that enchanted even the non-sorbet-eater in our group.
