The staff is always fantastic, and the atmosphere when you go and hang out? My husband and I love it and so do our teenagers. Bite me cake is a win all the way around!

An overnight trip in Pueblo plus a really bad sweet tooth took me directly to Bite Me Cake, and I'm…read moreglad for it. I am rarely this far south so am unfamiliar with the bakery options around town; Bite Me was one of the closest, highest rated spots right near the hotel I was staying in. The photos and vibe looked really great based on others' reviews, so I decided to stop in late on a Saturday not to get my sugar fix lol. The atmosphere is fun, and the mish mash of sweets, games, and a downstairs bar I think is super unique and also makes this place more appealing for people that want to bring kids around earlier in the day. Despite going late (I think it was around 8?), the arcade was pretty full of people, which was a great sign. The bakery case and menu is at the back, and there was one very sweet girl (no pun intended lol) running the counter. Even for the time, there were lots of options that all looked like they were pretty good and not obviously stale or old from the day which I really appreciated. There is also ice cream and a refrigerator case of goodies in addition to what's shown here, as well as various beverages you can purchase. I decided to splurge on a cherry cupcake, a cheesecake cookie with cherries, and a brookie. The total was around $12 or so, which was pretty reasonable. I took my treats back to the hotel to enjoy them while watching a show, and they were all delicious! Definitely satisfied my craving for something sweet after a long day. I think this place would be very fun for a date night or a small family outing during the day, presuming it's isn't busy inside as it seems like it can easily feel crowded. Parking is available on the street and may be a bit of a challenge depending on the day and time you stop in, but the downtown area is pretty walkable and more parking accommodations can be found further away. Stop in if you get a chance! I probably will next time I'm in town.

My daughter got the macarons and I got a lemon cookie and a peppermint chocolate cake. My daughter said the macarons were delicious and my cookie and cake were good. The lemon cookie was not particularly lemony or sweet but had a sugary topping that helped out with the flavor. The peppermint cake had just the right amount of peppermint but the chocolate part seemed a little dry but not enough to ruin the chocolatey goodness. They also make homemade bread which looked delicious. All in all the place holds a certain charm and everyone was nice and pleasant and very helpful behind the counter. I would be back to try there other treats and do recommend this place to anyone having a sugar craving

My friend got the Pike peak brownie, the love at first bite chocolate cupcake and the carrot cake. Everything I've had so far is delicious!! Even the lavender macaron was really really good. The lemon cookie wasn't too sweet or very lemony but had the right amount of tart. I would definitely get more of the macarons and that cookie. The lemon cupcake was not as loved as the other two. The center of the cupcake had a big splash of lemony goodness but it tasted artificial. The whipped cream was a little too much for me. I think I would eat this cupcake without the cream topping. The cupcake itself could also do with more lemon than it had. My friend loved her brownie and carrot cake but did not like the chocolate brownie. I will definitely be back for more macarons and that lemon cookie!

Ordered a fondant cake the sides were bulging out on the cake because the fondant was so heavy. Anyone who knows how to work with fondant this wouldn't happen. Had my own logo asked for it to be made in fondant and placed on the cake. It was made like a board and looked horrible you couldn't even make out our names and it was placed in front of the the cake. Asked for small pearls around the cake, we got large odd shaped balls of dough. I wanted gum paste flowers and had to pay extra $25, not a single flower was on the cake! What kind of business does this? Ordered cupcakes and was very specific about the frosting - requested no lines in it and asked for it to be shaped like icecream cones instead I got half filled cupcakes with very little frosting with lines in it, not a single cone shaped one. The cake under the fondant was extremely dry I'm sure due to them making te cake and freezing them, that they claim they do not do when I asked before ordering the cake. The red velvet cake was horrible - my 6 year old daughter could have made better. They didn't even want to put my topper on the cake and suggested my husband do it when the cake was dropped off. To top this all off I called on my wedding day to express my disapointment the owner who did my cake was too busy and would call me back!! I never recieved a phone call back. I called again today finally reached Rhonda, she said "ok thanks I will note it". I asked what she was going to do about it? Her response "I don't know I will have to think about it when I have time, maybe this weekend". Didn't even offer to refund the $25 for the gumpaste flowers we paid for and never got. I will be sending out letters to the BBB and attorney generals office today see where I get. Just want to warn everyone I possibly can from a ruined wedding day thanks to "designer" cakes.

Instead, I got a bad attitude and a lopsided cake with decorations that I could have done a better job at with a little effort--since I am no expert. When I asked if there was any way that they could "fix" the crooked cake, instead of an apology and a more than willing approach, I got this, " I will try ONCE" ...My second option was that "if I turned the cake the other way--and once I added the cake topper--people probably would not even notice that it was lopsided"... But guess what? I noticed it was lopsided and I was the one paying for it. I was almost in tears. When my husband asked her how SHE would feel if it was her child's 1st birthday and she got a crooked cake and she said "you are asking the wrong person ...". Here is my biggest issue: I KNOW mistakes happen (although professional bakeries should not expect customers to pay for crooked creations--it should have been redone the minute they realized it was lopsided). ALL I wanted was a sincere apology, for them to take responsibility and acknowledge it was lopsided and offered to do the best they could to fix it WITHOUT the SMART ALEC tone. Just because you KNOW your customers rely on your cakes doesn't mean you should USE that power against them because a cake is traditionally so important.
