She had so much fun making it!

My kid wanted to do a pottery for a long time, so I got a one pottery class voucher on her birthday through Groupon. It was a bit of pain to make a reservation, but I finally made it. She took a class with other girls and she had a blast! The instructor was very friendly and taught them are by step, and my kid got to make a small bowl by hands and a cup by wheels. She told me how fun using the wheel was and she wanted to do more! The instructor told us that she can come back and glaze them. Unfortunately this location will be closed for pottery class, but we can go either Laguna Beach location or their new location in Costa Mesa. My kid can't wait to go back!

We have a long life experience with the studio. Both of my daughters likes to draw and make art of clay, so ARTime studio is a perfect place for us. For the older daughter we bought the Groupon deal to try and we loved the place, teachers and the working and creative atmosphere. The younger one is homeschooled and goes to the studio twice a week and that's her favorite things to do that days. MS. Gabriella teaches not only the skills, but also she tells a lot about artists and genres. MS. Nicole is very friendly and fun. My kids made such great progress and keep mastering using all types of media: paint, chalk, watercolor and graphic drawing. The clay things they do are amazing as gifts to friends and relatives and I can tell it's very sweet to use handmade plates and little bowls in the kitchen:) The studio not only teaches art but also how to focus, start and finish your work, clean your working area, be nice to your pals. I am grateful we are part of this studio for almost 3 years and we will keep counting:) By the way, location is great. The plaza is easy to be found and park there.

Such sweet instructors and warm environment. Always very quiet and peaceful. My daughter greatly looks forward to her pottery time each Friday. We initially booked and missed our first class and they were very understanding. Email communication are quick and very professional. Highly recommend.

Mrs. Gabriella who owns the place is absolutely amazing. All art classes before and after I went there I did not enjoy but she is so helpful and helped me grow so much.

You pick out the unfinished piece you want, gather your paint and supplies from the shelf, and then spend a couple hours painting them and turn them in for final firing. The pieces are priced reasonably -- it includes all supplies and the final firing. My friend chose a mug that holds a cookie on the bottom and decided to transform it into a likeness of her pug dog-- see the photo... Mine was much more tame-- I picked out a small geometric vase and ended up painting it an ombre shade of an earthy purple. We sat and enjoyed the experience and they offer a concierge type service-- they cleaned up everything for us! Very chill and fun evening- will do again .

The selection was low the day we painted, but on the day we picked up the selection was plenty with well stocked shelves. Brushes and cups of water are already neatly set up at the tables. The only thing you have to do is get your paint in the bottled containers. Little hands may need assistance with this or leave it to the adults to prep the paint dish. I really like the space in the Art Cafe. There is plenty of room between each table. It may be different with more customers (we were the only ones on this weekday visit). But even then, I think there is more plenty of space you don't have to worry bumping into someone. I find all ceramic cafes to be a bit pricey but this is something to do once in awhile. I find it therapeutic and I love to watch the kids paint and be creative with their piece. Great bonding time with someone or good, quiet creative time for just yourself. Go check them out.

The space itself is gorgeous with terrazzo tables, rattan pendant lights, and a wall of colorful glaze swatches that make it feel like a creative sanctuary. We painted ceramics together and the whole experience was way more fun than either of us expected. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, checking in on us throughout without being intrusive. I actually slipped out mid session to grab drinks from next door and they had zero issues with us bringing them in, which was such a nice touch. And when we ended up finishing right at closing time, the team handled it with total grace and never made us feel rushed. The glaze color wall alone is worth the visit. There are so many options that it's almost overwhelming in the best way. Whether you're artistic or a complete beginner like me, you'll leave with something you're genuinely proud of. An overdue review based on the pottery wheel class and glazing option experience. For reservations,…read moreI made it for two people through their website. This was for a public class on a Saturday at around 4:30 PM. The class consisted of 8 people max and seemed to be all couples. All of the equipment was prepared like an apron, clay, pottery wheel, etc. We had an instructor that was very knowledgeable and explained everything from start to finish. Complex technicals were explained in layman's terms. We were given enough clay to create 3 pieces but could keep up to two. The instructor also frequently went around to check everyone's pieces and was able to troubleshoot as needed. It was a fun experience but be very prepared to get your hands dirty! The glazing portion was separate from the class. There was no reservation needed for that so I did it the same day that I went to see the ceramics. For parking, street parking could be hit or miss depending on the time. I'd recommend coming early to have ample time to find parking. Overall, I enjoyed the experience enough. It could have been perfect if the staff here remembered to follow up on when the ceramics were ready for pickup. I am happy with the end result though.

They couldn't find it under either. Jennifer, the owner messaged me on the side and offered studio credit for when we come back to glaze. I appreciate that offer since my bf and I had to and have to coordinate this date to come to the studio. I live around half an hour away and he lives over an hour away, which made it that much more disappointing when we drove all the ways last time only to be told it was lost. I messaged and asked to see if it was possible to have our pottery ready this time for when we came to glaze to prevent further mishap. They were kind and had our pottery ready for when we head back. I was happy with how our pottery turned out. It was with the red clay so it looked tan. Ashley helped us with the glazing. She gave us tips and instructions. They have a ton of different colors. They have a color section that's easier to work well and good with designs. There's also another set of colors that have some details and undertones. I picked four colors and hoped for the best. It's interesting because the more special glaze are all shades of gray, even when you paint it on. It's really is trusting the process. They put our pottery on the rack and told us it would be ready for pick up in 2-3 weeks. I'm hoping the pick up this time goes better! This glazing experience went well and I appreciate, Jennifer, the owner, reaching out personally and offering the studio credit.
