I bought two Groupons for ONE Pottery Fun Adult's Ceramics Class with Supplies Included which costs $40.50/per person for my boyfriend and I. Yes, we too had watched the infamous movie Ghost so I really wanted to learn how to use the pottery wheel. Super simple process to make a reservation - EMAIL, don't call. Just let them know your preferred date and time, and they respond in a timely manner. Parking is easy peasy in this shopping center. Wear old clothes you don't mind getting dirty. It was a perfect date idea! I guess we got lucky because it was only the two us for one hour. (We adults were separated from the children.) Instructor Tania was extremely patient and kind to us pottery newbies :) 5 stars and big thanks to her! We learned how to make pinch pots, coaster, and bowl using the pottery wheel. Unlike competitors, you get to keep all your pieces!! Two will air dry and one goes into the kilns. You will then return to paint your creation before it goes back into the oven, and BAM! you will have a new finished piece of art. Amazing experience. read more

My kid wanted to do a pottery for a long time, so I got a one pottery class voucher on her birthday through Groupon. It was a bit of pain to make a reservation, but I finally made it. She took a class with other girls and she had a blast! The instructor was very friendly and taught them are by step, and my kid got to make a small bowl by hands and a cup by wheels. She told me how fun using the wheel was and she wanted to do more! The instructor told us that she can come back and glaze them. Unfortunately this location will be closed for pottery class, but we can go either Laguna Beach location or their new location in Costa Mesa. My kid can't wait to go back! read more

We have a long life experience with the studio. Both of my daughters likes to draw and make art of clay, so ARTime studio is a perfect place for us. For the older daughter we bought the Groupon deal to try and we loved the place, teachers and the working and creative atmosphere. The younger one is homeschooled and goes to the studio twice a week and that's her favorite things to do that days. MS. Gabriella teaches not only the skills, but also she tells a lot about artists and genres. MS. Nicole is very friendly and fun. My kids made such great progress and keep mastering using all types of media: paint, chalk, watercolor and graphic drawing. The clay things they do are amazing as gifts to friends and relatives and I can tell it's very sweet to use handmade plates and little bowls in the kitchen:) The studio not only teaches art but also how to focus, start and finish your work, clean your working area, be nice to your pals. I am grateful we are part of this studio for almost 3 years and we will keep counting:) By the way, location is great. The plaza is easy to be found and park there. read more

My husband and I had such a fun time attending a pottery class. We made 3 pieces each using different techniques and clay on the first day. We had to come back a week or so later to do the glazing since the clay needs time to dry. Please note that the color will be much darker and more vibrant after baking. The place will email you when everything is ready to pick up (usually a week after). Everything is microwave and dishwasher safe I believe which is awesome. I wish we can make a bigger piece so it can be more useful since everything we did was more on the smaller scale. This pottery class is definitely for more beginners; no experience needed. Such a fun activity to try on a spontaneous date though! read more

Bought a Groupon pottery class with boyfriend for fun as you know, a little pottery date. We made three pieces the first day, let that dry for a few days and they'll email you to come back and paint it. After painting it, they'll email you again to pick it up once it's ready. I really wish that they gave us more clay for the potters wheels. I wouldn't mind paying for extra clay to make something bigger since it was the most fun playing with the wheels to create your own art. Everything is timed so better be quick and decide what you want to do and what color for yourself pieces when time comes. read more

Gabriela and her staff are great with my two kids 5 &8! We have two pottery classes so far and my kids enjoyed both. We are signed up for two more classes that do progress with your pottery project. I suggest taking more than one class to learn more, and finish project started. They did two projects in one hour session: created a fish by rolling, cutting and decorating the clay. Next was the best part, my kids worked on the pottery wheel to create a bowl that they decorated (carving, texturizing the clay, and my daughter created and attached a clay snail with some leaves, my son's -texture with a heart). They also teach Art classes, and maybe Girl Scouts can earn a badge? When you call to schedule, Gabriela prefers email to schedule. I am impatient so this took more time than I wanted, but it is best to see your RSVP in writing. Location is in a office complex on the corner, with lots of parking. read more

My two girls just finished Art camp here. They did the week long camp and loved every minute! They were so excited to go every day. It was great that they use different mediums like clay, water colors, pastels etc... the instructors, Gabriella, spoke Spanish and spoke to my girls only in Spanish which was like getting a bonus class!!! My kids not only got art but picked up a lot in Spanish. It seemed very safe and I would have to go in to get the girls, they waited for me on their seat so I got to see their work and take a few photos. They even made new friends! This is one of our local hidden gems! I don't know how I haven't found this place before... Saw their promo in LivingSocial app for pottery classes. Could either buy one or three classes. No brained there... as an artist, I KNEW that 1 class wouldn't be enough. Nice combo of different techniques. I was especially wanting to try my hand(s) at the wheel. SO MUCH FUN!!! I purchased the $55 groupon good for 3 kids classes for my 8 year old. They classes were easy to book and worth every penny. Gabriela and her staff were very friendly and attentive. They encouraged me to come inside and watch as my son took his ceramics class. So different from the last art studio we attended last year where parents were asked to wait outside. My son and I both felt so welcomed. The atmosphere was casual and fun allowing for plenty of creativity and self expression. We will be signing up for regular lessons. read more

This studio currently has a Groupon running. Beware. The description of what is included is very vague but I went ahead and purchased it any way. It offers a "session" for $29 and says the $29 voucher has a value of $87.50. I'm thinking for $87.50, that's probably a 2-3 hour class. Wrong. I finally got a hold of the owner of the studio and discovered a "session" is a single one hour class which she claims is worth $87.50. I was very disappointed and felt deliberately misled. Had she stated clearly in the Groupon ad that the $29 voucher (valued at $87.50) is good for ONE one hour class, however, no one would buy it. Needless to say, I got a refund from Groupon. read more

My child was really excited about this week summer camp. They thrive in all art activities more than anything else. We just finished their week long summer camp and I am so underwhelmed by how they run their program. There is little to no daily communication with parents (not even a hello or goodbye) and no oversight on the drop off/pick up process (my child would often just walk outside without my knowledge). The owner, Gabriella, is very sweet but you have to find her and wait to talk to her. The other teachers (Nicole) never seemed pleased to be with the children and seemed bothered that I would ask questions. I never saw her smile! My child went to another competitor's studio before and loved every minute of it. This place has cute activities and pottery, but that can be found in other places with more friendly staff. It seems fine for adults but it might be best to take your kids someplace else. read more
