She had so much fun making it!

My kid wanted to do a pottery for a long time, so I got a one pottery class voucher on her birthday through Groupon. It was a bit of pain to make a reservation, but I finally made it. She took a class with other girls and she had a blast! The instructor was very friendly and taught them are by step, and my kid got to make a small bowl by hands and a cup by wheels. She told me how fun using the wheel was and she wanted to do more! The instructor told us that she can come back and glaze them. Unfortunately this location will be closed for pottery class, but we can go either Laguna Beach location or their new location in Costa Mesa. My kid can't wait to go back!

We have a long life experience with the studio. Both of my daughters likes to draw and make art of clay, so ARTime studio is a perfect place for us. For the older daughter we bought the Groupon deal to try and we loved the place, teachers and the working and creative atmosphere. The younger one is homeschooled and goes to the studio twice a week and that's her favorite things to do that days. MS. Gabriella teaches not only the skills, but also she tells a lot about artists and genres. MS. Nicole is very friendly and fun. My kids made such great progress and keep mastering using all types of media: paint, chalk, watercolor and graphic drawing. The clay things they do are amazing as gifts to friends and relatives and I can tell it's very sweet to use handmade plates and little bowls in the kitchen:) The studio not only teaches art but also how to focus, start and finish your work, clean your working area, be nice to your pals. I am grateful we are part of this studio for almost 3 years and we will keep counting:) By the way, location is great. The plaza is easy to be found and park there.

Such sweet instructors and warm environment. Always very quiet and peaceful. My daughter greatly looks forward to her pottery time each Friday. We initially booked and missed our first class and they were very understanding. Email communication are quick and very professional. Highly recommend.

Mrs. Gabriella who owns the place is absolutely amazing. All art classes before and after I went there I did not enjoy but she is so helpful and helped me grow so much.

When we arrived, they told me there is also a mandatory 18% gratuity. First, that is legally supposed to be disclosed clearly and in advance which it was not. The kids picked out their paint colors and then we found out that your location was out of (six) different colors that they wanted and they had to settle for less appealing options. The attendants were slow to replenish the paint and acted like it was an inconvenience, even though they were getting a "mandatory gratuity". They could have been nicer and more friendly. One of the colors they "replenished" was not the same color as we got at the beginning even though we asked for the same color # and the attendant even checked the # to make sure, and one of the kids ending up having two different colors of paint in one section of her ceramic piece that she was really disappointed about. When we asked the attendant how we could fix it, she said she didn't know and literally walked away mid-conversation to help someone else. She clearly did not care about our party once we sat down. My bill was almost $300 and the mandatory gratuity was $49.32 which was absolutely not worth the service we got. I doubt we would come back to your store since we never had this issue at Color Me Mine.

You pick out the unfinished piece you want, gather your paint and supplies from the shelf, and then spend a couple hours painting them and turn them in for final firing. The pieces are priced reasonably -- it includes all supplies and the final firing. My friend chose a mug that holds a cookie on the bottom and decided to transform it into a likeness of her pug dog-- see the photo... Mine was much more tame-- I picked out a small geometric vase and ended up painting it an ombre shade of an earthy purple. We sat and enjoyed the experience and they offer a concierge type service-- they cleaned up everything for us! Very chill and fun evening- will do again .

The selection was low the day we painted, but on the day we picked up the selection was plenty with well stocked shelves. Brushes and cups of water are already neatly set up at the tables. The only thing you have to do is get your paint in the bottled containers. Little hands may need assistance with this or leave it to the adults to prep the paint dish. I really like the space in the Art Cafe. There is plenty of room between each table. It may be different with more customers (we were the only ones on this weekday visit). But even then, I think there is more plenty of space you don't have to worry bumping into someone. I find all ceramic cafes to be a bit pricey but this is something to do once in awhile. I find it therapeutic and I love to watch the kids paint and be creative with their piece. Great bonding time with someone or good, quiet creative time for just yourself. Go check them out.

There's a wall of color for you to write down on a smaller palette. I loved that they how the final product would look like depending on the number of coats you brush on your item. The service is attentive to refill your paint but not overbearing. The location is right by the plaza parking that only charges overnight or you can always do street parking as well. Working with clay requires patience, creativity, and real time problem solving, which has been such a wonderful experience for her. I especially love that pottery teaches her to embrace the process rather than expect instant gratification. There's no rushing to a finished product...you have to work through each step, learn from mistakes, and sometimes figure out how to solve a problem when things don't go as planned. It has been so rewarding to watch her challenge herself, develop new skills, and become more confident in her ability to work through frustration and find solutions. These are skills that extend far beyond the studio, and I'm so grateful she has a place where she can develop them while doing something she genuinely enjoys. The staff are also amazing and clearly passionate about what they do. You can tell how much they care about the kids and their creative growth. We highly recommend Mud Hen Clay and Art Studio! It's a wonderful place for kids to create, learn, challenge themselves, and grow.

This was for a public class on a Saturday at around 4:30 PM. The class consisted of 8 people max and seemed to be all couples. All of the equipment was prepared like an apron, clay, pottery wheel, etc. We had an instructor that was very knowledgeable and explained everything from start to finish. Complex technicals were explained in layman's terms. We were given enough clay to create 3 pieces but could keep up to two. The instructor also frequently went around to check everyone's pieces and was able to troubleshoot as needed. It was a fun experience but be very prepared to get your hands dirty! The glazing portion was separate from the class. There was no reservation needed for that so I did it the same day that I went to see the ceramics. For parking, street parking could be hit or miss depending on the time. I'd recommend coming early to have ample time to find parking. Overall, I enjoyed the experience enough. It could have been perfect if the staff here remembered to follow up on when the ceramics were ready for pickup. I am happy with the end result though.

It was hard finding a staff member to get items scanned so I had to put it in my shopping cart and get to the checkout line for a price check. I have been to other Hobby Lobby locations and it's quite large with lots of items to look at. I feel like all these stores are owned by a Christian family as I frequently hear Christian music as you walk around the store and it is quite peacful and relaxing even for non religious shoppers. Some of the standout items for sale included seasonal home décor whcih right now was clearance items from Valentines Day and new items for Easter holiday. There were also a large display of artificial floral arrangements, wall art, and a wide variety of craft supplies. I found a few paints supplies and scrapbooking materials for my niece to enjoy. The selection was impressive, and the quality of the products made it easy to find unique items for both home decorating and DIY projects. Overall, this Hobby Lobby location is a great place to shop if you have time to wander the entire store because you will leave with a cart full of creative supplies or stylish décor. Plenty of parking in the front and restrooms are nice and clean.
