The set-up is a small bufffet, but I thought all the choices were excellent. Classic Cuban cuisine at reasonable prices.

I have now been to Cuban Burger twice almost three times. The third time we weren't offered a table as my daughter and I had 7 Brew drink in our hand so we didn't have lunch there that day. I will say that I love the flavors of Cuban. Everything I have tried has here been not but amazing. I loved their guava mint gingerale. Their Yuca with green sauce is amazing, along with the empanadas. The burgers and plantains are on point. I would love a cuban coffee added to the menu for after my meal. Here is why this review isn't getting five stars from me. The guy at the door is a little non-welcoming to put it nicely. I noticed it twice. He seems to make assumptions of why you are there. The first time was Sip and Stroll weekend when my husband and I entered the building and told us we should order from the window outside (assuming we were there for Sip and Stroll which we were not) when we were there for lunch. The second time I noticed was when my daughter and I were not offered a table as we had cups in our hands from 7Brew. He assumed we were there to pick up. Then after we said okay and turned to leave he is even yelling at us that there on signs on the door that state that (which we did not notice) so we couldn't bring them in. I totally get rules but I just feel he could have come across less harsh and perhaps we would have put them in the car and come back in for lunch. That day we decided to try some place different. I will say my server both times has been great though. The food has been great. I would like to come back but I am a little put off by the host guy. Not sure if we will try a new restaurant next time we are in town or we will give Cuban Burger a shot again.

I truly mean every state including Hawaii and Alaska. There is no place I felt so connected to the gastronomy flavors of the island like Chino Criollo. A true gem. There is more to the menu than I expected. I got the pork chop combo and my wife mofongo con carne frita. Huge portions, amazing flavor, I went back in time to the #7 menu in my hometown Chinese restaurant. You have to try it to believe it. Wish Chino Criollo the best. Keep it up. See you tomorrow and next time we are in town.

I wasn't particularly impressed with my food at Chino Criollo. It was my first time having mofongo,…read moreso it was hard for me to tell if I just don't like mofongo or if I don't like how they make it. I ordered beef with broccoli, and the portion was huge. I had enough leftovers for a second dinner. The rice and fries were very plain - could use more veggies and salt respectively. The main dish itself wasn't a standout but hit the spot. My girlfriend, on the other hand, did not like her garlic chicken. The garlic taste was absolutely overwhelming, and the sauce was very thick and creamy. Not exactly what either of us were expecting from Chinese garlic chicken. She tried her best, bless her heart, but only ate maybe 1/3 of her dish and did not care to save the rest for leftovers. I would encourage you to try Chino Criollo to support local businesses, but do be careful because you might not end up getting what you expect.

Recommended by another local restaurant... In town to ride…read morethe train. Nice ambiance in the first level of a house, but apparently understaffed ( guess this is a common theme in Elkins)...waited about 5-10 minutes to be greeted until my husband went directly to a server. Eventually seated. Hubby enjoyed his food: a spicy shrimp soup and chicken empanadas. My food was just ok; an acorn squash soup that was a bit bland and one of their specials, sweet and spicy Thai with chicken: chicken overcooked, not too much of it, and prepared in corn/cheese (?), which I wasn't expecting. Rice was rather bland, too. Server was friendly, but not very attentive. Probably because she was back and forth to the back room where there's a bar and a DJ ( at lest when we were there last night). The 2 glasses of sangria were good, and the total bill came to about $52 without tip. This could have been such a better experience; management take notice regarding staffing but maybe that's a continuation of a bad trend...

I did manage to get there on Saturday just as they opened for dinner. El Gran Sabor is located in a converted vintage home; there is a small bar area and a medium sized dining room. The decor is comfortable and homey. Service was good and the menu pulls from both Mexican and Venezuelan cuisine which sounded like a great idea after a hard day of skiing. I ended up ordering the Shrimp Cachapa since I had not had this item before. This is a corn pancake topped with shrimp, vegies and cheese sided with rice and beans. A very tasty dish and just the kind of balanced meal to have after a day of exercising; also an item I have not seen on other menus before so I always like to try new things. I also really enjoyed the cup of spicy shrimp soup that came with the meal, rich shrimp flavor with a nice hit of spice warmed me to the core and got the meal off to a great start. I would strongly recommend El Gran Sabor if you are looking for a meal in Elkins, this was far and away the best meal I had during my visit and I would head back if I were in the area again. Definitely the culinary highlight of my vacation.

It wasn't very busy there were two other tables sitting when we walked in. When we got to the counter a lady took our order, she was dressed nice so we assumed she was a manager. After writing everything down she asked us to sit and wait. We were waiting for what seemed like long enough that our food should be ready and the manager looking lady start walking our direction with a bag. I looked at her and she "this is mine, I'm a customer, I was just helping out. They're still working on your food." Then she left with her food. It was really weird. Since we ordered, two more tables had filled and the first two had eaten and left. One of the new tables received their food and we continued to wait for a bit. There were only two people working there and the last that was bringing food out and packing to go orders seemed busy so we didn't want to bother her. When I checked the time we had been sitting there for an hour. We asked about the order and were told that the empanadas took some time and they had a cook not show up and if I changed my order it would be faster. (I ordered the carne asada.) I was actually craving it so I declined to do so. She said it would be 20 more minutes for the food and we asked her to cancel the order. We had plans that evening that we were now pushing to be late for. So we sat there for an hour and never got to eat. We left feeling hungry and frustrated. I worked in restaurants for a long time, I understand that staffing can be tough some days and isn't always in your control. What you can control is telling people when they order that the food could take up to an hour and a half so they can make a decision on whether that works for them or not. That's a substantial amount of time to expect someone to wait. We also would have appreciated some sort of check in with information. What's taking so long, how much longer is it expected to be and so on. I hope to get to try the food of we're back in the area, but for this visit it was very disappointing.

Our servers were super nice, attentive, and accommodating. They really made the evening special. I had the NY Strip, which was done just right. It was between that and the scallops, which are always great. My wife had an incredible halibut special. The fish was cooked perfectly and all the other elements of our dishes were very tasty. A few in the group had the shrimp risotto which is also an excellent dish. We'll be back (many more times); not just because Zocalo holds a special place in our hearts, but also because the food is delicious, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere fits us well. We're already looking forward to the next time!

A $90…read moreprice fixed menu with a mandatory 20% gratuity regardless of party size...that's a lot, but perhaps not excessive if the food service and ambience merits a $90 per person three course meal. In this instance, it did not. The service was remarkably slow especially for a fixed menu. The waiter repeatedly apologized for the slow service but did nothing remedy the situation. Including not refilling water glasses during the long waits. We were a party of five and only one person was happy with all three of her courses. Whether or not the customer is in alignment with the chef is often a crapshoot, that is not my principal complaint. My complaint is the ambience and the service sorely lacked from what one would it expect for $90 a plate. There were sporting events on various television screens and patrons at the bar could've been mistaken for "Larry the cable guy". Now don't get me wrong, I like Larry the cable guy as much as the next person but if I'm paying $700 for a celebratory dinner for five people I don't wanna eat next to him in a sleeveless flannel shirt and trucker hat. Couple the diminished ambience with the remarkably slow service and color me dissatisfied. Their day-to-day service may be fine but the special occasion should be avoided. We will not be going back
