Great Mexican spot after a long day of hiking. Food comes quickly and service was great. I ordered the California burrito which didn't lack in queso sauce. And the chorizo queso fundido was a delicious app. Also love that they provide both salsa and white sauce. Overall great Mexican spot especially for a small town! read more

Trying a new Mexican spot led us to El Paso Mexican Grille. My husband ordered a combination plate, and I went with the shrimp fajitas (I was actually aiming for the fajita salad, but no complaints). The fajitas were very tasty and well seasoned -- good enough that I had to fend my husband off from stealing bites, even though his dish was nicely portioned and enjoyable too. Overall, everything tasted good and we'd come back, but nothing really stood out as a "wow" moment. Still a solid option if you're in the mood for Mexican food. read more

Quality, filling food for a great price. Inital time to order was a little long, but once we had a waitress she was attentive and nice. My sister did order the corn tortillas, but was given the flour ones. My friend thought the staff as a whole was nice and sincere. A different one cleared the table. Another one brought the check. Plenty of parking. 5a% off bill when cash is paid. read more

This Mexican restaurant is very good. Service is incredible , the food was terrific. Booths were very nice. Great spot.

Good service, nice ambiance, large select on the menu with many combination options, excellent food.

Walk in 40 minutes to close and they're only doing carry out. Reasonable enough but for the group that walked in a few min before us and were sat. Only thing open for a couple miles in either direction they're leaving money on the table not busing one table at closing time. read more

Wow! I lived in New Mexico for a few years, then moved east and despaired of ever having authentic Mexican food east of the Mississippi. This place has the real thing!! Everything tasted wonderful--even the refried beans, which I don't usually bother eating. This restaurant is a must if you like the real thing. read more

Freshly made salsa & chips. I have even purchased their in house maid salsa & chips for a party. It is wonderful. Over the years of going there I have tried a large variety of appetizers and entrees. I haven't found anything I disliked. From the Nachos to the Salads the fried chimichangas and the piled high amazing fajitas. But, someone bought me for my birthday the El Paso steak entree. I not only had to have it for 2 meals but it was define! An be prepared, for their no empty glass service. The waiting staff is top notch. Also, they have the cleanest and fastest kitchen I have ever seen. If you're looking to find a quiet little space for a romantic evening out. They are your kind of place. But, if you and your friends need some space. They are for you as well. If you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, with or without the heat. You can't have a better lunch or dinner experience than, El Paso. Food for all tastes and for all ages as well. read more

The food was atrocious. Both the taste and spice level was equivalent to eating a Mexican food advertisement from a magazine. I genuinely thought I was eating display food, it was so bland. The tortillas felt rubbery and the beans were like mud. When you walk into the establishment, there is a smell of spice, a mere whisper of hope that the food might be palatable. The service was quite nice and the waiters and waitresses were very polite and friendly. One called me "hun". The spiciest thing in the restaurant was the soap in the bathroom getting into a paper cut I forgot I had. Speaking of the bathroom, I was horrified when the disembodied voices of what I thought were angels bringing me into the afterlife was in fact a Spanish lesson. read more

Found this place from the sign on the highway so was unsure of what to expect. What a pleasant surprise!!!! We were immediately greeted, offered the choice of a booth or a table, chose a booth, given menus and had our drink order taken. Our drinks came out with chips salsa and ranch. The Chips were delicious crisp and fresh. We ordered an appetizer which came out quickly and then our order was taken. My friend got steak fajitas and I chose a taco salad. When the entrees arrived the fajita was sizzling and my taco salad was on a hot plate and perfectly presented. It wasn't just good looking. It was delicious! Julia our server made sure to check on the food -delicious- and made sure drinks were refilled. She checked with us a few times and asked about dessert but we were full. We were just in town for the weekend but the food and service were so good I had to give them a shout out! A memorable lunch for all the right reasons. read more

Redemption! When we came a year ago, it was first time we had a poor experience & food. Like I said, we travel to the area every year or 2, and this is a regular stop for us. Tonight, everything was very good. Server was attentive and quick, food was delicious and served fast. Margarita was a bit disappointed in presentation at a Mexican place on National Margarita Day in an uninspired pint glass, but it was good. Little light on the tequila. Prices are unbelievable! Dinner for 4 with 2 margaritas and 2 desserts shared was under $80! Outstanding value. Portions are generous. Food is very good. Not the best Mexican you will have, but really good for where you are. Fresh & tasty. Very enjoyable. We will continue to make this a regular stop when we vacation in area. read more

Four stars for the great service and friendly folks at this local Mexican restaurant. We had a family of four eat for under $50, so the value was good as well. We liked the chips and dips. The chimichanga was average but the fajitas were very good. The vegetarian burrito was flavorful. The Kids burger was surprisingly good as well. Excellent food and service, fun restaurant! Was here with a friend for dinner after hiking at Shenandoah National Park, this is a few minutes from the Swift Run Gap at the center of the park, very convenient! The menu was huge, had all the usual tacos, burritos, fajitas, and some more unusual items. They brought us a basket of fresh chips - not very salty, crispy, not greasy, and two salsas - a mild chunky tomato salsa and a white salsa. The white salsa is a bit like ranch dressing but has sour cream and other flavors. I liked to alternate trying them. When I asked the waitress if they had a spicy salsa she said they have some like "ti amo" not sure exactly what she said but it was a more orange red color and thin and extremely hot, loved it! I tried that hot salsa with one chip and then had to have some water and cool down with the white salsa. Then I was back for more of the hot salsa! I tried something I had not had before - fajita salad. This was in a big bowl, no taco shell or tortilla, was like a taco salad but with fajita steak, chicken, or shrimp on top, and it had that crumbly cojito white cheese on top instead of typical cheddar and Monterey cheese blend etc. My salad was delicious and even after hiking most of the day I could not eat this whole salad. It was very good, recommended. My friend was happy to see chimichangas on the menu and got them with shrimp and the veggies on the side. She ate all hers too, with some veggies left over. We were stuffed but happy! No desert, no room! If you go to the restrooms, they are hilarious, playing audio from a language lesson for Spanish. Entertaining soundtrack on the speakers! Everything was clean, fast service, they got all our special requests right, I got my water without ice, we got our hot salsa, etc. The prices were also very reasonable for such a nice sit down meal and relaxing time. Felt okay sitting there in hiking books and tired, came out refreshed and energized. Would go again, recommended! read more

Great food and even better service at this place! Visiting on vacation and wanted a good dinner, found it here!

We went on a recommendation from a good friend, who loved it so much that she and her husband went twice during their trip to Shenandoah national park. We also went twice and it did not disappoint. It's a fantastic sign when a place is hopping with happy customers. We tried the Santa Fe salad, which we loved, fajitas, flan, and loved it all. A great choice in the area. read more

We loved the food, the ambiance and the service! The steak fajitas were delicious and I appreciated the amount of peppers and onions with such a healthy portion of tender steak. The chips were fresh and I could drink the salsa lol.. Portions are so generous and the value is hard to find nowadays. Go and enjoy! read more

Is this the best, most authentic Mexican food? No..... But the ingredients are always fresh, the servings sizes are plentiful, and that delicious hot tomatillo salsa can make anything taste good (as long as your taste buds can take the heat). The service is quick and friendly and the margaritas are delicious (try the Texas). The shrimp quesadilla is my favorite (and I don't often get shrimp at Mexican joints) as are the tacos originales, huevos con chorizo, and fajitas. The beans and rice are both a little bland, but honestly, everything else is fresh, consistent, and cooked well, so eh.... who cares. Just be sure to get the hot salsa.... it's great. read more

Great experience! We stopped by from out of town an hour before close, and the staff was exceptionally accommodating and pleasant! We arrived in the area tired, hungry and concerned with many poorly reviewed restaurants in our vicinity. We noticed several Mexican restaurants nearby had high marks on Google and Yelp so we decided on El Paso Mexican Grille! We ordered a few items off the Al A Carte menu ($2.95-4.30 per item) and also ordered the Cheese Nachos ($7.50). We did take out so some of the items were not crispy by the time we got back to the resort. As wonderful as everything was, I think eating the items fresh in restaurant would make them even better! The Tosta-Salad was so tasty. I wasn't sure how pickled beets would be on it but the acidity worked well. The Cheese Enchilada was tasty as well with the sauce heavily flavored like cumin. The Mushroom Quesadilla was satisfying as it was seasoned well. These 3 items were more than enough for a meal. The Toasta-Guac and Chalupa were covered in delicious toppings. The Beef Tip quesadilla was filled nicely with beef tips, tasty and filling. Again, these 3 items were more than enough for a meal and my fiancé could not finish it all! They offer combo meals, lunch specials, platters and al la carte items which are all well priced for what you get. Where we live these prices would be several dollars more per item for the quality and quantity served. For the price, quality/quantity of food along with the kind service, I believe they've earned 5 Yelp stars. I highly recommend this place and we look forward to stopping by again while on vacation! read more

DO NOT PASS UP THIS PLACE !! We were traveling from California and came across this gem of a find Mexican restaurant. Absolutely excellent Mexican food. The place was packed ( always a good sign ) when we arrived on a Sunday early afternoon. Since we have been traveling we were missing good quality Mexican food. Found this place by accident and had to stop for lunch. All the staff were very attentive and service was exceptional. The portions were quite large and the prices were surprisingly low for the meals we had. Drinks were ice cold and again generously poured. All and all a great place to enjoy good Mexican cuisine. read more

Really great staff and atmosphere ! Food was good and highly recommend for lunch or dinner rather than eating at Massanutten if your skiing.

Our party of eight was excited about this place. We ordered Pepsi and Diet Pepsi, and sweet tea. The sweet tie was weak. And no everybody got the opposite of the soft drinks they ordered. I personally ordered the #22 A beef, beef enchilada, with beans and rice with Spanish rice, all with extra cheese. The enchilada was covered in marinara sauce which had a strange and weird flavor. And didn't expect the enchilada to be hamburger. The waiter was apologetic but still keep getting things wrong. The only saving grace was the homemade hot salsa. It had good flavor, good staying heat. And made you want to come back for more.Ground Beef read more

Had takeout from them tonight. Food was awesome! We had the combination #4 (beef enchilada, 2 beef tacos and cheese and beef tostada) and the nachos supreme. We are staying at the Massanutten resort and it's about a 10min drive. The takeout came with chips and salsa, they said it's standard if you order more than a certain amount (I forget how much). They forgot to pack the tostada with our takeout and when I called, they offered dessert on top of the tostada, for the inconvenience. We had the fried cheesecake and it was delish! Came with ice cream. This is our first time trying their food and we will definitely visit them again when we return to the area. read more

Our love for Mexican cuisine and the 100 health score lead us here. Ooh man!!! This place food hit the spot! This was my family and I first time at El Paso Mexican Grille. What a lovely authentic experience we had. We were greeted by a very kind staff and when we were seated, we were served with fresh chips and the sauces was delicious. My dinner was Arroz Con Pollo. This is grilled chicken over a bed of Spanish rice, red, yellow and green bell peppers, onions and tomatoes topped with cheese sauce. This was a satisfying meal. Overall, we were pleased with our service. I definitely recommend trying this restaurant if you're near. Also, their menu is now digital. Food was excellent. Clean tables. Lots of choices on menu. Stopped here while on vacation, well worth it.

Trying to find somewhere close to eat to Massanutten that was open in the area was a bit challenging but we thought we'd give El Paso a try. We placed an order by phone for pickup and it was ready as promised. While El Paso was perhaps following the letter of the law in terms of spacing and masks, it didn't exactly instill confidence. The restaurant was as full as allowed with every other table occupied. Obviously people dining had their masks off but there were many people who had finished meals and were walking through the restaurant to leave as well as those coming in who weren't wearing their masks right, if at all. All employees were masked though a couple didn't cover their noses but the ones I spoke to were all polite. That aside, I found the food to be lackluster. I had the enchiladas (chicken, beef, cheese, and bean. The chicken and bean were under seasoned and lacked flavor. The ground beef and cheese were tastier but still a bit lacking in flavor. It came topped with chopped lettuce and tomato. My wife had the chicken and steak fajita combo and thought also that the chicken was under seasoned. If you're looking for something quick and near Massanutten this pace will do in a pinch. If you're able to get into Harrisonburg you'll probably find better options in general. read more
