I love the care I receive at Arthritis NW. I feel fortunate to have Dr Coan as my doctor. I like having the ability to send messages through the patient portal. For all of you with complaints about the length of time it takes to get an appointment you have to understand how many patients this practice is trying to accommodate. After trying to contact these people for WEEKS and jumping through multiple hoops to get a referral problem dealt with (read: do their job for them), I receive a call saying they finally got my referal and that it's been rejected because "we no longer see patients with osteoarthritis ONLY!" WTF!!!!! I am in agonizing pain! They just put a new location in the valley together (of which you have to listen to their 10 min "PROMO" on their answering service) and THEY WON'T SEE ME!!! THEY NEED TO CHANGE THEIR NAME TO "ONLY CERTAIN KINDS OF ARTHRITIS NORTHWEST!!" I just can't believe they are refusing to see patients! This place has obviously lost sight of the goal of helping people who really need it. My PCP referred me to them, and I had to call SO many times to keep checking on the referral that they kept "not being able to find", it was ridiculous! And so I had to call and email my Dr, multiple times, to ask them to resend it at least 5 times! Arthritis NW is so disorganized they kept losing my referral, lol. This went on for months! Then they told me yes they now have the referral located, , but don't have the chart notes and they can't schedule me until they have those! So once again I bother my PCP only to learn the chart notes were sent WITH the referral, and that's how they always send referrals, WITH chart notes, so they don't even understand HOW they could finally have the referral and not the chart notes, which were sent together every single time, but I start once again calling back and forth every few days (because arthritis NW also tells me that after it's sent it can still take several days for them to get it out of the fax machine so wait a few days to even check again ), I keep checking and then asking my PCP to send the chart notes again, 3 times over the next month I did that, so much wasted time, and then Arthritis NW actually told me to go to my PCP in person to pick them up and drop them off to them!! I can't even BELIEVE what they put me through just to get an appt! The worst part? After ALL this, I just got a voicemail from them saying they've decided not to take any more patients with my insurance "because of the nationwide rheumatologist shortage" and wished me luck in my search! I am absolutely shocked by the disrespect and uncaring attitude I got, from medical providers that are supposed to be helping people. They knew my insurance for the whole 3-4 months they've made me play this game with them! They knew it when they told me to go get my chart notes in person from my PCP. They asked me my insurance EVERY single time I called and jumped through hoops for them for 3-4 months! And then they dismiss me so nonchalantly? Knowing that there aren't other rheumatologist around also, it's so ridiculous and heartless. And since they have all my charts, they know how severe my symptoms are and how serious it was that I be seen ASAP. I am just floored and in shock. And the way they've put me off while I've been having very serious symptoms, I wonder why they wouldn't realize they could be liable if that wait makes a difference in my health now. I just can't believe they treat people this way. I recommend NOT going to this practice. They don't seem to care much about the patients they're supposed to help, and they don't seem to have any issues with wasting a lot of your time and risking your health. read more

I have no issues with my doctor (Dr. Butler). He is attentive and competent. I would recommend him. However, the lack of responsiveness of his back office assistants has been a problem that I have had problems with over many instances and many years. There have been several times where getting a prescription refill has taken several (2-4) weeks. The assistants rarely answer their phones, so you are left leaving message after message. read more

what a horrible experience! I have many issues and my other specialist referred me to Arthritis Northwest. I scheduled my appointment in August and 2 months later I got my first appointment. I was told to be there at 10am for my appointment at 10:30. I got there 5 minutes early, with all my paperwork in hand. I check in and the first thing I noticed is All the Doctors pictures behind the front desk are crooked! I thought was "well I hope this isn't a sign of lack of caring". lol. so I check in and pay my outrageous copay, and they hand me another stack of papers to fill out! well I'm on oxygen and stupid me only brought 1 tank. oops. we I sit down and start filling out my paperwork. Redundant! so I finally finished after about 15-20 minutes. ok only 10 more minutes to go! well I sit an sit.. at 11 I ask what how much longe, I ve been waiting for an hour already. The lady behind the waiting for a room to open up. Five minutes later, they back to the room. She tells me after taking all my vitals and inputting stuff into the computer that he's only got one. Patient ahead of me. It shouldn't be too much longer. I sat in that room for over a half an hour waiting mind you now it's been an hour and a half an hour since my appointment time so I had to leave because my oxygen tank ran out. When I went to the front desk and told them I had to leave and to cancel my copayment they were like oh have a good day so I'm just saying if you have to go there I'm sorry for you. I will no longer go to arthritis Northwest I'll go to Coeur d'Alene. read more

Only rated a 4 vs 5 due to the extreme length of time it took me to get an initial appointment... ahh, then there's the location and parking garage... that SUCKS. I'm 71 and almost overnight everything began shutting down. Beginning with RH shoulder pain, then jumping LH, then both hands, on and on. I was seen by my GP, Orthopedic specialists, Physical therapists, Chiropractor, Occupational Dr.... I had Blood tests, x-rays, MRIs, steroid shots, physical therpy.... NOTHING HELPED. I stumped them all. Then came Dr Butler from Arthritis NW. A wonderfully, patient man who really cared and wanted to know everything, regardless of any time constraints. He systematically reviewed all the data and sought much more. He put me on an Rx as a trial while continuing to review other possibilities over a few additional appointments. The Rx worked miraculously in 3 days. THANK YOU!!! Dr Butlers office staff is 1st quality and very kind. Their new internet Portal is 1st class and very informative making it simple to share his data with my GP. read more

I am a patient of Arthritis Northwest and started coming September of 2019. I have had a wonderful, positive experience from the office staff, to the X-ray tech, to the lab department. I appreciate my Rheumatologist Dr. Coan. He is very knowledgeable, and explains all questions you ask him very well. I have found him to be very positive, and easy to chat with. Arthritis Northwest has helped me a lot. I don't like living with RA/ chronic pain,but I am learning how to deal with it and the meds work great. If you go to Arthritis Northwest do Not see Dr sean LaSalle. I wish someone had warned me. Just like there are great Doctors out there, theres terrible ones too. I have a somewhat rare condition that most falls under the scope of Rheumatology. There's so many weird stories with him I can't even fit all on here lol. At first we weren't sure which health condition it was, so he put me through all of these tests that I told him I had already done before. But he refused to listed and instead scolded me for questioning him. Then when all 3 of my other specialists figured out what condition I had they told me to tell my Rheumatologist. But Dr LaSalle said he had never even heard of it. When I went to pull it up on my phone to show him, I accidentally saw that he was looking it up on his computer (which would've been totally ok with me) but it must've embarrassed him to see that I saw he needed to look it up because he scolded me for peeking at what he was doing when it was "none of my business". It was so weird haha because I was trying to show him the same thing on my phone anyway haha. After that I asked to be transferred to one of their other doctors at arthritis northwest, to Dr Kenney I think) but in order to do that it has to be approved by both your current Rheumatologist and the one you want to transfer to. And of course LaSalle refused to let me transfer but claimed I could still continue care with him ... That was the last time I went there ha. There are more bad stories with him too but It's too much to write. I didn't want to even write this review because it takes time and I have to do it all by voice text (because of pain in my hands and fingers) but honestly I care about people and don't want anyone else having to go through what I went through with him . read more

Dr. Kenny is an old quack. He used outdated forms of testing and got extremely awkward and weird when he had to do my physical. I'm in my 20s which I'm sure is different than his usual senior citizen patient and it showed because he was incredibly disrespectful and he also wrote in my medical chart that I had an eating disorder which was 100% false and based off of judgement alone. He gave zero consideration to my problems, ran 1 test and then discharged me, even though his clinic claims to specialize in my specific diagnosis. hes a real piece of work who is rude and tired and obviously has zero passion for his work. He should have retired 20 years ago when he stopped updating his education. money is obviously his only motivation and I regret ever going to Arthritis Northwest. Worst experience ever. read more

Absolutely awful. The appointment I had here was one of the worst appointments I have ever had. Before the rheumatologist ran ANY tests or asked me any questions, he told me that the diagnosis i has received from TWO other specialists was wrong. He didn't know any accurate info about my illness, and told me I was wrong. He told me my doctors were wrong. He told my mom she was wrong. My first visit was scary, I wasn't sure what to expect. Dr. Butler and his staff were so kind and patient with me. Dr. Butler took his time explaining everything and letting me ask questions, I never felt rushed or that he was trying to get me out of there. I feel much better about our plan. If I could give zero starts I would. I don't even know where to start. One of the ARNP's was always extremely rude to me. She would always make fun on what I was wearing. Telling me my shirt looked like a tablecloth, or walking in and saying, "wow, those are SOME pants." one time IN FRONT of my son, she asked if was a C-section because he has 'one big head'. ??? The doc's and their ARNP's never seemed to be on the same page, telling me different things, which was very frustrating. I firmly believe they are too big to handle things appropriately or give even adequate patient care. When I asked if I could speak to my doctor on the phone, the MA told me "he was much to busy to talk to patients on the phone!" Let's see what else...consider yourself lucky if you can even SEE your doctor in person for an appointment more than once a year. They hand you over to their PA's or ARNP's who I would say are only mildly competent. One misdiagnosed me on something which led to permanent damage and I had two instances where I was prescribed a medication without being told the horrific side effects when trying to discontinue them. The MA went on to tell me that these drugs, Tramadol and Cymbalta didn't have any withdrawl side effects. They are completely uneducated and incompetent. I would encourage you to go anywhere else but Arthritis Northwest. Sorry, Dr. K and staff but I give you ZERO stars. read more

I am truly saddened by the treatment from arthritis northwest staff. I have been calling trying to get into them for months I had been in the rockwood system who cannot keep a dr on staff and has closed there rhumatology center, and thats where I had been going, Dr Coen had been treating me finally diagnosed me with RA after 2 years of being told there was nothing wrong with me, he also left rockwood and moved he is now back in Spokane with Arthritis NW, I have had to find new Dr's so my new Dr sent a refferel Jan 21, it is now march 12th I have called again they needed medical records, I called my Dr and NW, they are just sitting at rockwood but noone seems to want to get them, NW has been so rude to me I do not want to go their at all, I will get my records and guess I will find someone who wants to help me I have been without meds for 3 months now and am in pain everyday and can barely get out of bed, but boy lets jump through hoops ,noone contact the patient and say what needs to be done or fixed pass the buck I guess thats where the medical field has put us with no recourse for our own health. My boyfriend was sent to ANW a couple years ago for his hands. They have continually done nothing to help him but keep making follow up appts. At the last appt, we saw Tim and I was with my boyfriend. I have to say that in all the med stuff we have dealt with, I have NEVER been treated so rudely in my life. He literally asked why we were there. Now my boyfriend's hands look like boxing gloves and there is nothing they can do... so then why do they keep scheduling follow up appts? We are both approaching 60 and unfortunately have had too many med issues. This is without a doubt the worst doctors and pacs ever! Very professional front desk staff and great doctors. You can cancel up to 24 hrs before without charge and the always call you to ask if you will make your appointment. Doctors are great and you can tell they care. They work with you to get things covered by insurance and to save you money when you don't have insurance. I have osterioarthris that was diagnosed by my knee doctor. He said no I don't. I had him get my chart from my knee doctor. He said my diagnoses was not in their. Dr. Mueller was the best. I was very happy at this place. Felt confident they were doing all the can for me. They went above an beyond my expectations. I can now walk in the mornings when I get out of bed. I love the holistic part of the natural medicine instead of throwing toxic crap down my throats an seeing if that works! I had no idea they had policy as If I was employed or property. 3 no call no shows? After being seen there for almost 4 years previously? Definitely complaining, I had a 3 hr commute to the facility, I was unemployed due to my diagnose and the appointments are 3-6 months out! How can they handle such disrespect towards me when my tribe paid for it? Garuntee that my paperwork was always done on time and ahead of time so it can go smoothly but no. I have a tardy attendance because apparently they are in high demand after the fact it has always taken me over 20 minutes to be seen when I had appointments in the past. Forgive me, I can't believe that the staff cannot tolerate patient volume and let alone keep a steady staff. Out raged and unprofessional.
