Great prices and amazing food! Stopped here for a quick bite after arriving in Toronto, and was met with very friendly and accommodating staff, quick service, and a classic British pub environment feel! Would definitely recommend for a cheap, good meal and drinks!

Excellent mom and pop restaurant with all home made on the property. The fish and chips were mouth watering. We also tried barbecue ribs which were good but could of used more bite in the BBQ Department. Nice service by Jemma. Sat outside in the street tables and enjoyed the evening air. Cole slaw with both meals was sparse. Price was very reasonable though. Go there and relax .

On Mon. evening I made my 1st visit to The Artful Dodger in more than 2 years; it was an Event for a friend's birthday party. In my years of visiting the Pub, I've been almost everywhere inside and out; I still have yet to eat there but I have had a number of quality beers at the venue. I do know they have food specials every day with beverage purchase only and not available for Take-Out. From what I've seen, their food portions are good and their prices affordable. The quality of their food looks good too, with a fair bit of variety. I admire the décor throughout the interior of the Pub and I like both their front and back patios. Another plus is that there are an abundance of games available, including pool on their top floor and darts. I don't know if it's the most suitable place for large groups but for smaller gatherings that I've been to it's been fine. The service is quite good too.

The Artful Dodger, great name! Good varied menu, English pub style. It had some vegetarian options. So I really looked forward to my vegetarian burger $12.95 with quinoa, alfalfa sprouts, cashew and leeks, $2 more for the spinach salad. Great price! Burger was so mushy, and pink, looked like steak tartar. Also, it tasted like curry. A burger should be grilled; cooked to a solid state and not too dry or raw, otherwise call it something else ;D

Gord and I had lunch at The Artful Dodger yesterday. It was such a nice day so we sat on the patio. Gord ordered plain wings and onion rings. He said they were good. I ordered Balti Butter Chicken. There was a lot of food and it was okay. It tasted more like a curried chicken than a butter chicken. Rene (pronounced Reenee) was our server. She was friendly and took good care of us.

My group happened upon the Artful Dodger shortly after the Pride parade ended. We were looking simply for a place to get a drink, some food, and soak up some more of the atmosphere. Most places in the village were very busy, this one included; but we were able to find a spot on their patio, and that cinched our decision. Considering the crowds and the craziness all around, we were quite surprised how good the service was here. We ordered drinks soon after arriving, and got them relatively quickly. And soon thereafter we all ordered food - and even though it was a bit of a wait, it was actually less of a wait than we had expected. We all got our own dishes, and did a bit of sharing. I had a pulled pork sandwich with fries and coleslaw, and others had quesadillas, a salad topped with chicken, and another sandwich. My sandwich was quite tasty, and the fries were really good. The coleslaw was so-so. Likely out of a bag. The quesadillas were good as well, with a nice amount of toppings. The salad was also tasty, as well as being a good portion. Prices were also better than I had expected. Being a pub, they had a nice selection of beer, and a few other things. I enjoyed my beer, but it could have been a bit colder. It was cold, but not that ice cold I've come to expect from places that serve a lot of beer. We were definitely impressed by the server. She had obviously been running around all day, but was still friendly and efficient. She even apologized for the "slow service", which we all laughed off, telling her we were pleasantly surprised at how quick the service was. Next time I'm down in this area of Toronto again, I'll definitely be looking this place up.

Came here to watch Game 6 where the Raptors won the NBA championship. Absolutely amazing night. But this bar didnt have much to do with it. Its not very clean, tables are sticky, and seats are uncomfortable. I tried a lot of food here considering we were here for 6 hours. The nachos came with guacamole and salsa in little paper ketchup holders. The fried pickles were so hard it was difficult to bite into. The wings were so tiny there was less than 2 bites of meat on them. The spinach and artichoke dip tasted like the cheese was going bad. I also had the beer and the Caesars there. Drinks were alright. Service was slow as expected. But when we did get service, the servers were extremely rude and short with us.

I can really only review this place for its bar on main floor since I got there before 5, so I have no idea how dinner is or how the service is upstairs. Artful Dodger Pub is right off yonge just south of bloor on Isabella. Its inside what looks to be a converted house, its a mid size pub, from what I can see one section by bar can hold maybe a dozen while the side to right of entrance is another half an dozen. It small but nice. I stand at bar and ordered Tankhouse Ale and Wellington Country Ale. Both I enjoyed and 6 dollars a pint isnt a bad deal. Both good beers and service was good. Ale seem to be a feature for here so that a nice touch

I'm a lunch-time regular at the Artful Dodger. It's a bit like a small town pub. You see the same people every day, including a handful of British ex-pats sitting down to the footy and talking about the good ol' days up at the bar. The owner and staff are friendly. The food is quite decent. In the winter it's very pleasant to sit by one of the two gas fireplaces. After work, the upstairs is a popular spot. Overall, this is one of the better pubs in this part of town. Oh--the single-malt selection is quite decent as well.

Drink and be merry.

Very nondescript outside facade - no sign telling you what it is other than a small "BSC" (for Bovine Sex Club) painted near the door. Great sound system & chill vibes pervade throughout. Weirdly the stage is right in the entrance of the club, on your left, with a long bar along the right side, heading back. Without attempting to try to present a front of a time long gone, The Bovine simply exists today as it once did in that time long ago, before Smokes stickers, before iPhones, back when people would just go to a bar to talk with those they didn't know the morning prior. I saw a lovely lunch special sidewalk sign and thought it was for them, but it was actually for the restaurant next door! However, I was already committed, and I always loved pubbing. Opened in early 2011, it was named after the historical role of town criers who served as the primary news source in medieval times. With the general theme of Belgian and German styles, its owners believed that European beers and news were linked. Would I be crying in my beer at this pub for entering the incorrect eatery in this town!? PURCHASE(S) Hacker-Pschorr Munich Gold Lager Beer 5.5% ABV 20floz Draft ($11.50CAD): Golden amber color, aromatic malty aroma, low body, malty sweet flavor, clean smooth finish, and malty aftertaste. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=Oks3ELRLtUfkwpMwMfZ7YQ Town Crier Burger + Add Cheese ($17.00CAD + $2.00CAD): A simple burger made with prime rib beef patty, lettuce, pickle, red onion, and tomato on a lightly-grilled bun with an added slice of cheddar cheese, it was a sizable burger and did the job, but there wasn't anything special about it. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=XV6Yy6lwP5yngWkIFicroA [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 3.5 of 5.0 STARS] Substitute Onion Rings ($3.00CAD): A good side portion with many rings of generally uniform size, these were hot, lightly golden browned, semi-crunchy, and had a tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) pulled out at times. Although they were somewhat oily, they were good, and didn't come with any dipping sauce. Innis & Gunn Mangoes On The Run Fruited IPA Beer 5.0% ABV 20floz Draft ($11.00CAD): Dark strawberry color, fruity mango tropical aroma, low body, fruity hoppy mango sweet flavor, smooth finish, and slight bitter fruity mango tropical aftertaste. This was my favorite of the two for obvious reasons! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=_MZhEukjAcdC0Qfo4P2Kaw SERVICE I was happily greeted by a young host outside on the sidewalk who then directed me to a nice outdoor patio table perfect for people watching and the weather. He handed me a massive menu, supplied a glass of water, and soon enough I placed my order. My beers arrived quickly while the food took about ten minutes. He checked in often while we chatted throughout the time. It was a cool hang out for lunch - danke! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance): I was in the area all day for the start of the Toronto International Film Festival, so I simply walked. Otherwise, there were spots along the main drag of John St. and all surrounding streets, some nearby structures, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A cozy snug layout throughout, inside had a loungey warm feeling with a focal bar with a few stools https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=LZIKI_6GFVgLIPXXkbrICA and many closed-in tables; whereas, the outside patio was less formal but equally compact. Inside was very ornate of Belgian and German styles, while outside was casual and simple. Minimal natural lighting entered inside through the few windows and door opening and of course plenty outside while dim electric ceiling and table lights filled in both areas. There were no TVs nor any background music because chatter was everywhere. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=bYpvTBTNnDqaLvrEqNtYtA ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Town Crier Pub had me laughing, talking, and people watching for a relaxing afternoon and would gladly return. The number of beers available both on tap and in bottles was insane and I loved it! The food menu was expansive. The food was fine but nothing special, and the prices were relatively comparable. But, it was the service and staff that literally reeled me in for a good time. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $50.00CAD BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...
