Loved it here and think it deserves a great review! This was my first time visiting Victoria and wanted a fun cocktail bar to visit... artemis delivered! Only downside was that it was a little difficult to find, but I thought it was apart of the adventure to find this speakeasy!! Pro tip: don't use maps walking directions to find it as it will guide you to a very wrong location. Instead we mapped to the restaurant next door called cafe Mexico. Drinks were delicious and fun. Like other reviews we had them craft us a personalized cocktail based on our likes/preferences. Also ordered drinks off their menu which were yummy. Unfortunately we went on a weekday night so we were about the only people in the bar but definitely would be a fun spot on weekends when maybe it's a little more lively with people.

Artemis bar - fabulous whiskey selection.

Fabulous bartender and drinks - extremely strange experience. Entrance is next to the Mexican restaurant (not where maps would lead you to believe). Entrance is speak-easy esque, but with zero instructions... spoiler alert: go down the stairs, pull the book that says Artemis back AND push the door... hard. Then enter... into a club? lounge? with cocktail bar prices, and rave lights, it is slightly entertaining, but odd. One drink requires a QR code to understand, another Greek (literally).

Space shuttle themed drink lit up fluorescent! It was out of this work and super yummy!

We found this hidden gem and highly recommend to anyone wanting a truly unique, out of this world drink experience! The owners are two brothers who share a love of space and engineering so they're creative craft

One of my best friends was having her birthday party here and I was utterly confused that I'd never heard of this place, so much so, that I questioned her if it was the right spot..... I now admit, that I was in the wrong. The Shebeen is located through a little alley way behind the Irish Heather. You have to go through the actual restaurant to find it, so no wonder it's hard to find! It gave me total speakeasy feels. Our large group took over their little patio area pretty early on around 5:30pm and set up camp there until 10:30ish. It was fairly slow at the beginning, but as the night went on, the inside of the Shebeen filled up and this spot was bumpin'. They specialize in whiskys (hence their name), so I was ordering old fashioneds left and right. I did also have a gin and tonic or two at the beginning of the evening. The old fashioneds were some of my favourite I've had in Vancouver. You can also order food through the Irish Heather menu. After a few drinks, I needed to put some food in my body so I ordered the curry fries. Wow, wow, wow. I was in saucy fry heaven. I need more of this in my life. Honestly, I'd come back just for this. Our servers (we had two checking in on us throughout the evening), were ROCKSTARS! Before I even had finished my drink, they were already checking in and asking if we wanted another... this resulted me in never having an empty drink, which I definitely felt the next day. Now that this spot is on my radar, I'll be back more often. Thanks for a great evening and here's to many more, Shebeen!

Today I had a cup of drip coffee and a savory scone - both were fresh and delicious. Lots of pastries to choose from and the full range of coffee/espresso drinks available. I'm sitting by a picture window looking at the docked sailboats and Jetty Island, as well as many pedestrians walking along a paved path - looks like the path winds around the harbor for a mile or so. Quiet place to read, comfortable sofas and chairs. Service was fast and friendly, seemed to be well staffed this morning. Venue is interesting: historic building, lots of wood, interpretive plaques, lots of windows, outside deck to watch the sunset or just enjoy being outside. Much better place to chill compared to coffee chains. I'm sure I will be back.

This small building can be easily missed if you don't take the time to step inside and see what it's all about. It's got a fireplace and a couple tables inside, but my partner always stops off here for the whiskey. Personally I don't drink much whiskey, but he gets excited by the selection and the helpful people behind the counter. They can help you find something in your price range. You can also get a flight. They have special Whiskey Talk nights and tasting events. You can get also get other drinks and even order food to eat inside. I usually get the Black Rabbit Red wine, but there are a couple beers on tap. Of course this is also a stop for a passport stamp. If it's cold and not too loud we do occasionally sit inside. It has a quaint, cramped vibe so you may get to know your neighbors. If the weather is good we often sit outside by one of the many fires. Sometimes there is live music playing in the courtyard and this makes for a great way to spend an evening. But if you don't know you can also get your drinks to go and walk around exploring the grounds, just be aware you are not supposed to cross the street with your drinks to the pool/Nui Nui bar.

They have a beautiful facility and the tasting room was filled with souvenirs from shirts, jackets, flasks, glasses and all of them looked top-notch. Loved to buy a baseball cap, but my head is 61cm and I must have the velcro closure as the plastic snap hats are just too small & cheap for me. They have a counter bar area strategicly set with no chairs where it's comfortable for four 1/4 to 1/2 oz taste, but you don't get too comfortable. The hostess was pleasant, inviting and we honestly enjoyed reviewing the menu of +10 different whiskeys where we need to pick out 4 of them for the standard flight. They had a cross section of proofs between bourbons and ryes with a premixed old fashioned that was made by aging in maple syrup barrels. My wife went for ryes and i did the bourbons. I started with the 80 proof then navigated toward the highlight of the 115-proof. I was pleasantly impressed how drinkable without the burn going down was the 115-proof as it benefits from a sweeter, corn-forward base + cooler aging that results in better integration and less aggressive burn -- it "drinks easier" than the numbers would suggest. Of course, try what you can and it's great when you can share tastes between 2 people all the choices. For me, I found the cast strength aged 6 years 115 proof to be the best.

The bun was incredibly fresh, light, and pillowy, while the pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth tender with the perfect balance of richness and tang from the kimchi. The pickled vegetables added a bright crunch that tasted incredibly fresh. We started with the salmon tartare, and it was phenomenal!
